Very nice but way too crowded. Booked it after The Great Wall visit. Because it was a Chinese National Holiday, it would have been busy from beginning to end. We arrived late at 430pm. It was crowded all the way till closing. We needed more time but because it was so crowded, it could easily tire you out & you just want out of there. Avoid this place on Chinese Holidays.

This is very useful option provided by Viator. I highly recommend to opt this when visiting the summer palace.
Maggie was so great! Informative, helpful, flexible, and efficient. We saw so many things in one day, and had fun along the way. Thank you for the awesome day. It’s been 10 years since I last visited Beijing, and I had no idea Tiananmen had so many hurdles to jump through. Maggie navigated them easily for us and got through long queues so we could enjoy our time more!
The palace and its surroundings are beautiful and scenic. The long corridor was specially unique. We didn’t take the boat ride and wish we had as the lake is one of the hallmarks. The boats themselves looked so charming! The downside was that it was extremely crowded and movement was slow. One of the reasons being that it was China’s national day celebration week which I’m told leads to huge crowds at all these important landmarks.
The Summer Palace is a vast green space easily walked with a family with a few challenging climbs to the top of the buildings for incredible views. We had some amazing Peking duck takeout at one of the concession areas along with delicious meat pies and iced drinks. Lots of places to stop and enjoy the views and many areas with seating to rest along the way. We spent 5 hours and could have spent more if we hadn’t booked another attraction.
Cindy was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly!
Getting these tickets here makes it so much easier than lining up for tickets or using other methods. The price is very reasonable. Once you have the tickets, make sure you have the QR code saved on your phone for entrance. The Summer palace gardens are very impressive and relaxing to walk around.
The Summer Palace was beautiful. Stunning architecture & great views from a boat trip across Kunming Lake (extra 40rmb, not included) . I booked the tickets very late, the night before, online, but received email confirmation immediately & the QR code in the morning. Simply scan, take passport & off you go. I bought the ticket including gardens etc which was a little quieter. It does get very busy (Sunday) i would recommend going early.
Seamless process and very well organised. The tour company provided excellent suggestions and information to maximise the experience. 5 stars
The Summer Palace was so crowded that I wasn't able to see much. Perhaps best visited outside the high season in summer. The boat ride on the lake was nice though.
Able to get in without any problems. Scanned the QR code emailed to me without questions asked. Got the combination so was able to get in all exhibits in the Summer Palace
5. Good to have tickets booked for you. Communication consistently good with Lily. Try this tour if you like exploring at your own pace
Summer Palace is not as interesting as we thought - not possible to see anything inside, a lot of people.
No need to buy your ticket through Tripadvisor or Viator. It’ll cost you 5-6 times as much. When we entered (10:00 in high season) queues at the ticket were only 10 minutes.
Easy booking for summer palace - just bring QR code and passport to gate. Highly recommend using ferry to move around the lake as it is huge.
Beautiful place, very relaxing, breathtaking views, lots of history, you can take a boat to enjoy more of this amazing place
We went on a sunny Sunday in may. The place was heaving with Chinese enjoying their weekend. It is basically a big lake with the main palace and temple on one side. The temple is closed unfortunately but the palace you can walk round I would recommend the visit although most of the buildings were closed or empty. To enter we needed to show our passports but they were not scanned and they didn't ask for a ticket.
Even though I booked this experience months in advance I was told two days before it at 10pm they didn’t get a ticket for me. As you can imagine as a foreigner in another country my internet was not great and I didn’t get the message until the night before the experience. I thought I had tickets as the way trip advisor makes it look like is that you have a ticket so I didn’t think I wouldn’t have a ticket. I was offered another day to go in when I booked through the same company to be in a different city for a different activity so I clearly couldn’t go. I did get issued tickets not to the full experience the day of after 9 which by that point I was already at alternative venue to not waste my last day so I couldn’t go. The only reason it is not 1 star is that the staff did refund me quickly and were helpful but it did ruin my trip a bit as I really wanted to see this. I think I can only recommend to travellers is pay immediately on booking not the book now pay later option. As it seems they only book when you have paid with a few day delay at fact which leaves you without tickets especially if it is a weekend or holiday.
It was a very smooth and enjoyable experience. The barcode sent by the team ensured quick entry to start enjoying. This is a highly recommended sight :)
Absolutely brilliant to visit, the history the gardens, the whole beautiful surroundings. Check in is easy with your passport and the Buddhist incense temple is absolutely amazing well worth the little amount of money it costs extra.
The booking process with "Travel China Guide" was fast and flawless and the tickets were provided on time before the visit, all communication with the company was exceptionally friendly and helpful - their webpage contains a lot of information, is well structured and easy to understand and use. On the day of the visit the tickets could be used as expected without any issues. The Summer Palace itself including various points of interest, gardens, a big lake with boats to transverse etc. is extraordinarily beautiful! We have spent hours on site to see and do everything and it was very enjoyable, the reachability per subway as explained by "Travel China Guide" is fast and easy. If you want to visit this splendid place I recommend getting the tickets via this company, then you don't have anything to worry there (or queue) but simply pass the gate and have a great day.
Beautiful park, not too crowded even during golden week. I was amazed by the nature and architecture. Highly recommended!
Absolute bargin. It's such a beautiful place to visit and there is plenty to see and do. I got to skip the line and scouts with the pre tickets.
Well worth taking the trip out from Beijing town centre to visit. There's a variety of ancient architecture, trees, greenery, country side, hill top views and plenty of cafes and resting places. Made for a great day out. Thanks for arranging the tickets, making it a smooth and pleasant experience.
Great an easy process to get the Summer Palace tickets. I bought them because I was traveling in Asia and couldn't buy the tickets in the WeChat app, so this was pretty helpful. Definitely recommend.
Excellent service. Tickets were booked in advance and confirmation sent with detailed instructions - all very smooth and easy. The Summer Palace is stunning and a perfect escape from the Beijing heat and humidity.
We have not been the Summer Palace for 10 years. This trip brought back so many memories. The boat ride was nice and the views on the Kunming Lake were amazing!
Amazing experience. Smooth and easy access to the summer palace. Thanks to travel china guide for the support and quick follow up.
Easy commute via Beijing metro. A pleasant walk through the grounds and picturesque along the river. There are plenty of spots to rest and get shade amongst the trees.
Great service, highly recommended. Train ticket booking, attraction ticket booking. Great communication. Easy to deal with customer support.
Christina made everything very easy, sorting two experiences for me and giving me great info on how to access the places. It helped simplify my trip to China!
This was my first visit to the Summer Palace. My ticket booking experience was very smooth and I had a lovely time exploring the grounds.
all good, I did not have any problemme when booking and the response was good enough so I will use it again
Thank you Travel China Guide for all your help and making it all so easy for us!!! You were available to answer all of our questions and took care of everything - I will definitely highly recommend your services to everyone!!! The Summer Palace was absolutely beautiful, what a wonderful experience - for sure one of our favorite memories of Beijing! We spend the entire day enjoying the views and walking along the lake - just gorgeous!
The ticket booking and the sending of the ticket worked perfectly. The grounds of the summer palace are very impressive and definitely worth a visit. However, one should plan for 3-4 hours.
Simple, timely and super clear directions, we entered through the east door that gives you direct access to the buildings that make up the palatial complex. Tickets received by email, everything perfect!
Smooth and reliable exchange, nothing to report, tickets received on time and easy access to the summer palace for a family visit
Sight-seeing experience suitable for adults and children. Remember to arrive early on bank holidays to avoid the crowd
The place is very big, you have to walk a lot. Very nice. Too bad we were exhausted and the heat and humidity is horrifying.
A very nice, great environment and recommended. You certainly need 2 hours or more depending on who you are traveling with. Still a: Must See!
Beautiful place. Historic, it is worth walking around and exploring the palace. Gardens and lake...lical not to miss. Advice visit in time.
Good customer service. Bit many people but all in all it was nice. Good connections to public transport
Convenient reservation system, recommend Paid for it, a couple of hours later, the summer palace tickets were in my mail. The place itself is worth a visit, very beautiful
Exciting, beautiful garden, large and spacious Lots of beautiful buildings. You have to allow plenty of time to get an impression
Ho acquistato il biglietto combinato che mi ha dato la possibilità di accedere a tutti i siti interni al complesso. Sono andata direttamente al tornello per l'ingresso e ho scansionato il QR Code superando così una fila chilometrica alla biglietteria
Ticket submitted by the company was not accepted at the entrance to the park. We were lucky because they asked our age and for this reason let us enter independent of the ticket. But the company's service was terrible!
Si te sobra el tiempo es una visita curiosa, un paseo agradable. Desde la zona alta una buenas vistas con skyline.
I have booked tickets to different tours in Beijing and Shanghai with TravelChinaGuide and was afraid not to receive them as until a week before the visit date they did not go on sale and I had booked some up to months in advance. Well, my joy was to see how they were coming to me by email on time as they went on sale. A 10 by TravelChinaGuide. And by the way. The design of the website is amazing. I haven't seen anything like it. Well explained everything, both schedules, sales tickets and tour guides of each city and monument, etc, etc.
Thanks to the written explanations that LI sent to my WhatsApp I was able to make a profitable visit. The Summer Palace is very large and it is easy to get lost.
