Beijing: Half Day Tour To Panda House And Summer Palace

Good short tour to visit the Pandas at Beijing zoo. They seemed less than happy about their surroundings but I’m no expert. The Summer palace and lake Kunming is beautiful and well worth a visit. Nancy our guide had good English and knowledge of the area.

Rita was a great guide. Shared great history of the summer palace that we didn’t learn on a previous visit. Made sure we got to the zoom early enough to see the Pandas.

Our tour guide, Jerry, was fantastic! He was patient with us all the time and told lots of interesting stories about Summer Palace and Beijing. We don’t know when we’ll come back to Beijing. But now we know where to book a good tour when we come back here.

We did 3 person tour, guide picked us up from hotel and arrived early. We took taxis between locations. Guide Renny was very friendly and get English was easy to understand. During the tours she provided many facts and was accommodating for things like quick shopping and photo opportunities. Thank you Renny and team, we had a wonderful time in Beijing and will recommend you to family and friends!

Sunny our guide was excellent. She spoke English well and was easy to talk to and I was able to alter our itinerary for the day as we had already seen the Giant pandas and Summer Palace the previous day on our group tour. Instead, we were able to see Olympic Park and take photos of the Bird's Nest and the Bubble Bldg or Cube where Michael Phelps won 8 gold medals in tje 2008 Beijing Olympics. We also visited the Temple of Heaven as well as Hongqiao Pearl Market nearby. It was a wonderful day to spend outdoors. Sunny availed of Didi Car service and they were prompt. Drivers were able to navigate the City well despite road closures when Putin was in town. We were very pleased with Viator services and prompt communication throughout our visit. And Sunny's good disposition, patience and warmth was apparent. She was willing to help with our purchases as well. We are definitely returning to China. There is much more to see and explore.

Lovely afternoon with bruce our tour guide first we visited the pandas then made our way to the summer palace. Bruce was very knowledgeable & friendly at the summer palace bruce told us all about the history. An amazing afternoon well spent.

Maggie was an outstanding guide for our visit to the pandas and the Summer Palace. She was incredibly kind and patient with our kids and went out of her way to help with transport and logistics, which made everything smooth and relaxed. Her English was excellent, and she made the experience easy to enjoy. We would happily recommend Maggie to any family visiting Beijing.

My guide Jeffrey was friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of the summer Palace and explained what we were seeing and was really good at taking pictures. The panda bears were also very cute. I highly recommend this tour.

Sunny was our guide and she was very knowledgeable and explained many things to us. I really loved the summer palace especially. A ride through the Olympic village was a nice way to end.

Dennis was a guy that I would recommend He took us to the pandas and the summer house Never have been in and out of a zoo so fast but check check done we saw the pandas two of them Summer house was much more than we anticipated. His knowledge was fast and interesting. Highly recommend him.

The tour guide and driver were on time to pick us up at the hotel. Pandas weren't very active, but it was pretty hot and I think they just wanted to be inside where it was cooler. I unfortunately became ill at the Summer place. Our tour guide did the best she could. She took the rest of the party to see what they could see. She then arranged with the driver to pick us up at the closer exit so I didn't have to walk far. My illness was out of the tour guides control, but she made the best for the others in our party.

Linda was a great tour guide. She was friendly and helpful in guiding us throughout the summer palace and the zoo. She was patient with our son and truly considered his interest. thank you Linda and this wonderful touring company.

It was a rainy day in Beijing but that didn’t stop this private tour from being a success! I just moved here in August and had a friend visiting. Maggie (tour guide) and Mr. Xu (driver) picked us up from my apartment right on time and took great care of us. Mr. Xu managed the Beijing traffic (and rain) very well and Maggie gave us lots of fascinating information. She was able to answer our questions and was overall very pleasant. We chatted before the trip via WhatsApp and shared photos with us on there as well. I would highly recommend this tour and when I have more visitors, I will look for tours by Maggie.

Even though it was a super rainy day, we had the best experience with our guide Maggie and driver Xu! We thought we wouldn’t see the pandas as it was raining but we got so lucky and Mung Lai came out for us! Then we went to the summer palace and Maggie knew every piece of information and more. We learned a lot and she also helped us take great photos 🤗🤗 I loved the VIP service of the pick up and drop off, it really helped us maximize our time. Super convenient! Highly recommend.

We had a great, personal tour with Lisa. She was very informative and easy-going. She also gave us great recommendations for restaurants afterwards.

We took private visit but would have preferred a group one as communication was stunted. Trip great though

Grandma and I joined the tour for the half day. It was perfect! We started by getting picked up in our hotel lobby by Maggie (The best!). The two of us were taken to see the Pandas. Not only did we see all 6 but we also saw the panda that was moved from the US a few years ago. It was all very special and we have tons of photos and videos to remind us of our experience. Following that we went to the summary palace and all I can say to that is...wow. The massive cultural and historical significance will not be forgotten. Maggie knew so much about it all, she was truly the best. She helped find great spots for photos. Finally we were dropped off outside our hotel. It was a great trip and we are so happy we took it. Thanks Maggie :)

We had a fabulous tour, though the zoo can probably be equally enjoyed without a guide. It was more helpful to have a guide for Summer Palace. If you have more time spend a day to do both of these or even a day each.

Another day well spent with our tour guide, Maggie! During the quiet period in the morning, we spotted so many adorable pandas. We then visited the Summer Palace, and the view was absolutely breathtaking and phenomenal!!! Also, a huge shoutout to Maggie for taking excellent care of us throughout the tour. We appreciated the patience and knowledge with which we were shown around and informed about the rich history of China.

The pandas were so cute, and the Summer Palace was beautiful! It was the perfect amount of time for me at both places. We did finish early enough that we went to a tea ceremony, sampling the tea and learning about the different types was fun, only drawback is the lady at the tea ceremony was extremely pushy about purchasing tea, it was uncomfortable.

This tour was fantastic. Maggie was very knowledgeable and took excellent photos. I highly recommend the private tour to see the pandas and the the full summer palace experience. I felt very safe and taken care of. Thank you!

This tour is a good way to spend a half day sightseeing and then still have some free time. My friendly guide Jeffrey was very knowledgeable about the Summer Palace and showed me good spots for photos. Also, I was lucky some Pandas were out while we visited the ZOO (which by the way is very beautiful in general).

The tour and Lucy, are guide, were fantastic. Lucy is incredibly knowledgeable, her English is excellent and she knows where to take the best photos. Her description of Chinese history and culture was clear and interesting. She took us to a great local lunch spot and helped us make some great choices. We got excellent photos of the pandas and the Summer Palace is amazing. I highly recommend this tour and Lucy, our tour guide.

it is supposed to have a dating with my partner, but... (her skin is sensitive and easy to get allergy with something-> plus the jet lagging-> result: she is lazy in the hotel room-> before heading to the tourist activity, I already order food in advance -> IF you are USA resident or USA citizen, we all know the skin allergy is not big problem-> We can go to CVS or Walgreen to buy the allergy cream/lotion. Before we heading to Beijing airport, I see the Atlanta airport has the CVS vending machine. Thus, we will be okay. Once we fly back to USA territory, IF need, we will go to the urgent care.) The tour can be flexible operate. That is what Mei - the tourist guide - share. Her company can re-arrange the tourist activity in another day, at another slot time. And I still commit... Early morning, I already eat some while "wai Mai" the KFC near my hotel. (the breakfast meal is not included in this tour but you always can ask for the references). About 7:40 am local time, I meet up with the driver -> drive little bit to one bus station -> pick up Mei. In short, Mei is the extrovert so that day, I have a few hours dating with the aunt-like-relative. She is so much friendly that give me the feeling Mei is one of my relative aunts/aunts-in-law in Viet Nam. Next, we included the driver-> we go to the Beijing Zoo. It is crowded!!! Mei shares that day is within the range summer break 14,15 days of students-> Therefore, many families go to the zoo. Beijing Zoo has more kind of animal included the Aquarium. However, majority wants to see the Panda. Seeing the super long line waiting to see the Panda Meng Lan... aigoo~ give up the chance fastly and firmly. I ask Mei to leading to see other Panda available. Aigoo~ other big cages for other Panda... also crowded. Understandable since Panda is the official whole country lovely animal. I also can record a few shorts but in here Tripadvisor does not have the function upload video/shorts. Seeing Panda house-> purely based on your luck. The morning time visiting is not so hot temperature, but a few Panda still don't want to go out their net. After three rounds walking to increase more chance to take photo/shorts for the Pandas, the driver helps us go to Summer Palace. During the road, you will hear the history background of this Summer Palace but I think you should searching in advance. Because the history could be more... "royal". ( with some darkness). Since the Qing Dynasty, somewhere after 1910s, this Summer Palace become the private "retirement place" of the Queen. In Chinese history, we hear a lot of King but some Kings are just the clone of his mother's ambitious. The Summer Palace cover overs 2000 km included the river... Aigoo~ "royal family things"... no extra comment -.- Because this is the half-day tour so we don't walk all the area of the Summer Palace. And my situation.... if It were you, you would be flexible for one day long for the attractions Panda house OR Summer Palace similar to many local group tours. While I just have the half-day.

Great to see pandas at play. Angel also took me through the old part of Beijing. Nice to see this area without being part of a big group. Great tour!

Had an absolutely wonderful day with Lily I will never forget! Summer Palace is breathtaking in it's beauty and cultural history. Definitely a must see for anyone visiting China. The Panda House at the immense Beijing Zoo gets very crowded but with Lily's excellent guidance, I was able to view and capture the pandas joyous walk around their pen. These gorgeous treasures of China amazed and thrilled a very happy crowd. I must express my sincere thanks to Lily as she was a wonderful tour guide who made everything very easy, spoke very good English, and was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Summer Palace (very important to me). Highly recommend you book her as your next tour guide!!

The tour with my guide Linda, was excellent. She brought us right to the Panda house and showed us the young pandas who were eating. We were lucky it wasn’t sleeping time for the Pandas! The Summer Palace was beautiful. The climb to the pagoda was worth the view!

We had a great time with Lisa visiting the Pandas and the Summer Palace. She was patient and made sure we went to the Panda house when they were eating verses sleeping. The Pandas are basically in a zoo. The zoo is a little run down and it is a bit sad, but if you really want to see a Panda in China and can't make it to Chengdu it's a way to see one. The Summer Palace was really nice. It's beautiful there and we were able to take a boat ride. Lisa was kind to take plenty of pictures and she told us great stories as we drove. It's a good tour if you have limited time.

The panda experience was not worth it, too many tourists and I feel sorry for the pandas. But the Summer Palace was cool. Bruce, my guide, was great. I can only recommend it further.
