To avoid any stress: when booking make sure to select round trip cable car. Once you park, there is a shuttle bus to take you to the area to catch the cable car. Our experience was wonderful! Bonus: the Great Wall coconut iced latte is the best treat after spending time on the wall. The lady running the coffee stand was so lovely! Glad we stumbled upon her stand.
I booked the Badaling Great Wall Night Tour through Klook, and it was an incredible experience. Even though I had to join a Chinese-speaking tour because English guides weren't available for the night slot, it wasn't a problem at all. The guide and the agency were professional and went above and beyond, using translation apps to explain everything clearly. The atmosphere at the Great Wall at night is breathtaking. The view is stunning, and the weather is perfect. The best part? No crowds! I felt like a VIP guest with the entire wall to myself, making it so easy to take photos without anyone blocking the view. If you want to avoid the heat and the massive daytime crowds, and if you're looking for that perfect solo shot with a panoramic background, you definitely should visit at night!
Saved us a lot of time and effort in booking our own tickets. The process was smooth and straightforward- tickets QRs arrived a couple of days in advance, and everything worked well on the day.
We booked night tickets with the cable car drive up. Tickets say taht we could enter anytime after 18:30, and that we have to exit no later than 21:00. We had 9 hours wait in Beijing for our next flight and we decided to use this time to visit the Great wall. We arrived at the site at 19:30. However, we were not allowed to enter to the Great Wall with these tickets because cable car does not operate after 19:30 and since our tickets were for the Great wall + the cable car, staff on the gate told us that when the cable car does not operate our tickets for the Great wall are invalid too! Stuff on the gate even did not want to look at our reservation for the wall when we said that we have reservations for the cable car too. They asked us to buy new tickets for the wall only, but we didn't have cash with us because we thought we have valid tickets for everything we need. Also our mobile phone apps did not work there because all are Google based since we are from Europe, and Google is banned in China, so we could not buy new tickets online too. At the same time another pair had the same issue with tickets booked through Viator as we did, however they were lucky and had the cash with them, so they could buy new tickets on the site. So we lost our chance to see the Great wall, we spent so much time to reach the destination and money for the taxi and all of that for nothing!!! Ve vere offered tickets refund from Viator, but they don't want to refund us money spent for the taxi even it is their mistake that they didn't say tickets are valid only for one hour, ftom 18:30 to 19:30 on the day of the reservation! And also, there is nothing that can compensate our disappointment because we didn't see the Great wall!!!

At the Badaling South cable car they kept saying I hadn’t a proper ticket and weren’t very nice. I had the Viator ticket with a bar code and they were’nt going to let me on. When they finally let me on with my passport number they started laughing as I obviously wasn’t very pleased.

Badaling great wall is a unique and amazing experience. There is both historical and natural beauty in this trip...walking through this ancient complex, whilst admiring the surrounding mountains. It can get crowded but the services are oustanding. A special thanks to Travel China Guide, in particular the agent Cissy Li, who organized smoothly the ticket collections and even assisted us rapidly when we made a booking mistake. This section of the great wall is fantastic. Alot of visitors in low season. Must be awfulll at high season. No need to buy cable car tickets. The cable car takes were it is most crowded. Just walk straight pass the cable car ticketing to access the wall and go left. It will take you to the least crowded section. The further you go the less crowded. Make sure to book at least 1 day prior to your visit. Dress accordingly it can be cold in March.
The trip was excellent with exceptional heavy snowfall on 15 March 2025. Good experience and amazed with the structure of Great Wall. It's worth a trip and must visit once in a lifetime.
It was advisable to book tickets in advance, so I booked my tickets to Badaling Great Wall together with the return cable car rides on Travel China Guide's website. I have booked many train tickets during my recent visit in China through this site too. It is very convenient and easy. The e tickets issued in this booking is pretty much useless. I still have to go to the ticket counter to exchange for a physical paper ticket. Badaling Great Wall entry system isn’t that advance yet, it only uses paper ticket entry, hence this booking is not convenient at all. I suggest best to go with tour group with guide that will help purchase tickets for you and give you valid advices on hiking the wall. And Badaling has the most number of visitors among all Great Wall sites…so don’t gives yourself extra inconvenience and unnecessary waste of time of extra queuing
Amazing service, on the date we wanted to go originally we got denied access to our train to the Great Wall, however we could easily rearrange our tickets for the next day without paying anything extra. Super good service and everything was super easy at the Wall.
Amazing view, stunning. Took the cable car up cos I have a bad knee but that didn't deter me to climb up again. Highly recommended. A must go for solo traveller or even group.

Service is good. But the monopoly practise in selling the entrance ticket through online is unfair. Agoda and booking.com have the ticket for sale, but always rejected for “in season” period
It was really nice. We unfortunately went on the coldest day of the week. It was like -6 degrees. But the wall is so challenging that you don't feel the cold if you keep moving. But I would recommend going on a less snowy day though the scenery was stunning with the snow. The ways get slippery by time. Sometimes the way is so steep you need to hold onto something. And if it's too wet, it can be hard. All in all good experience. I would recommend but be prepared that it's a challenging route.
Beautiful structure. little bit scary cause the pavement was very slippery. I had a great time and got a certificate. I went to China April 2016.
I booked at last minute but everything went very smoothly. Communication via WeChat was very convenient and I was assured that my tickets have been reserved for me and can be collected when I arrive at the Great Wall.
Every minutes spent at Great Wall is the moment to be cherished forever. Transportation: We travel from Beijing to Badaling via public bus and it was super cheap and convinient. Entry Tickets: Needs to be purchased in advance. We were not aware regarding it but we were lucky to meet few local tourist in the bus and they purchased the ticket from their WeChat account which we paid back in cash to them. :) At Entrance: we used rail to go up the wall. Great Experience and Had a Fabulous Time

The wall is a beautiful experience, definitely worth it. It is not easy to exchange your paper ticket for a real ticket that you can enter. We've had to search. Eventually you had to go through the Securitas at the cable car and there was a ticket office. It was also very busy in the beginning, a little further you have a better view and it is less crowded.
TravelChinaGuide booking worked out well. Since I had given the wrong e-mail address when I first booked a few months ago and later had to adjust an unplanned passport number and finally even had to cancel the whole trip, I had contact with the agency several times personally by e-mail. Everything was always met quickly, understandingly, easily and generously - really super customer friendly! We have now made up for our trip to China, and I booked the Badaling trip to the Great Wall again with Travel China Guide after the good experience, which worked out perfectly as expected. Badaling is easily accessible and well served by high-speed train. We took the cable car up to the north tower (6?), and in less than two hours hiked to tower 12, from there continued on foot through the bear zoo the whole facility back to the train station (another 40 minutes). It wasn't quite as crowded as it often was, otherwise the subdivision between North Tower 6-8 can probably get extremely crowded. A must for Beijing visitors and also the children liked it!
When I arrived I was told that the cablebus was not included and I had to pay again.
We loved the wall so much that we went to visit it from three different cities. We recommend it 100%. I know we'll be back another time.
Biglietti validi, come da istruzioni bisogna andare prima alla biglietteria e convertire i biglietti elettronici con biglietti cartacei. Tutto molto semplice e spiegato nelle istruzioni. Consigliato.
Prachtig stuk Chinese muur. Als je niet met de kabelbaan omhoog gaat maar bij de andere ingang kan je een mooie route lopen en aan het einde zit dan nog een uitgang (die is niet aangegeven van tevoren) sommige stukken vooral bij de kabelbaan zijn erg druk als je doorloopt wordt het steeds rustiger
A very good tour of the Great Wall of China in Badaling. Return and return gondola tickets and access tickets can be purchased online through the Travel China Guide website. Tickets sent by email approximately ten days before the visit. Good explanations of the site. Actual tickets can be collected at the gondola ticket office (on presentation of passport(s). Fast and efficient service. Visiting the Great Wall is a real pleasure (less crowded southern part). To go to Badaling I highly recommend taking the high-speed train from Beijingbei or Qinghe. The Travel China Guide site is reliable and very professional.
Top, extraordinary day with a direct bus to the Great Wall for 12 yuan (1.50 euros). Take the cable car ticket just to go there and walk back down. Bus 877 perfect!!
