I really enjoyed this food tour. Our guide was Lynn. She was friendly and knowledgeable about local food and culture. The variety of foods was prefect. Many of the food choices for the tour had been on my list of foods to try. The food was delicious even though there was more than I could eat. The local places were authentic, small family run restaurants, many with a long history. I hope to do another tour with this company
Perfect Tour with a wonderful friendly and well experienced guide Winnie! Thanks for this great experience!
After the night tour, this was the 2nd tour with the guide Winnie from Lost Food Plate. Again a wonderful experience. I wonder what new foodie experience will be developed next.
I had such a lovely morning exploring Beijing’s local breakfast spots with Grace! Even though I’ve been living in Beijing for almost five years, I discovered so many places I’d never been to before. We tried a variety of traditional Beijing breakfast dishes, and everything was delicious! Grace also shared so many interesting stories about Chinese history and local food culture. I learned a lot from her, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I’ve saved all the locations and will definitely be going back for more! This was the BEST food tour I did in China (I did many) I was so full and the portions were literally (or felt like) per person. We were so lucky to have Lynn as our tour guide. She was so patient and you could tell she was very passionate about what she does. Highly recommend this tour!

The tour was perfectly paced, tour guide Winnie was very attentive and knowledgeable about the history and cultural relevance of the dishes we were trying. She had a great sense of humour and shared information in bite-size chunks so we could connect and engage joyfully.

The tours are great! Winnie was our guide and she was brilliant. So knowledgeable about the history of the food and location, offering advice for other places to visit, and happy to answer questions about life and work in Beijing. The food was also spectacular. Buns, breads, fermented bean juice haha…it’s a proper taste of Beijing. We ate at lots of locations and Winnie didn’t rush us, she explained everything and encouraged us all to try new things. Loved it. I enjoyed it so much I forgot to take photos. Need to go back and do that again. Very much recommend.
Well worth it!! We had Winnie as our guide and her was incredible! Very knowledgeable and fun. The food was delicious and it was fun trying lots of different things. The walk along the hutongs was cute. Highly recommended!
Grace is an absolute fantastic for hutong breakfast tour She took us through quiet local alleyways and a bustling morning market, hitting tiny family stalls tourists never find. We had fresh crispy jianbing, tofu pudding, warm fried dough and all the classic Beijing morning bites 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 everything tasted insanely authentic.👏
We had a huge feast at the first location with soup, fried bread, beef sandwiches, dumplings, and a fermented mung bean drink. After that we stopped at different stands to taste things in the hutongs which you would never know about if you went alone. Then we ended with a seated tasting of sweet treats. The majority of the tour was eating while walking/standing but Grace offered to buy us lots of water and tea on the way. I think we ate from 6 or 7 different locations. The whole way Grace told us about the history of Beijing and the food we were eating. I loved this tour and can’t wait to go on another Lost Plate tour in another city.
Great food tour! Grace is really knowlegeable, and the beijing style xiaolongbao are so good.
Our morning tour with Grace in Hutong was fantastic👍Roaming the local market let us experience everyday Beijing life up close, and the fresh, handmade jianbing guozi was absolutely delicious crispy, flavorful and authentic. A wonderful start to the day, highly recommend Grace’s local food & hutong walks!
Kelly was amazing! We tried lots of dishes we would not have otherwise tried. Fun facts and cool bits of history really made this worthwhile for us. We appreciated that the food spots were spread out and included some walking to digest and prepare for the next snack/meal. Kelly was happy to answer all of our questions.
