Beijing 2-day Tours: Great Wall, Forbidden City & Top Highlights

We had 2 amazing packed days with our tour guides, we had Murphy on day 1 and James on day 2, our drivers were Mr Lee and Mr Wong. The team are very knowledgeable and got our group in to the main tourist hot spots in the shortest amount of time, they used their knowledge to get us through the many security checks very quickly. Some of these places are not easy to navigate so having the guides saved a lot of time and hassle, allowing us to experience a lot more than we would have been able to arranging everything ourselves.

Helen was an amazing guide and host for this tour. Her enthusiasm, energy and kindness made my first full day in Beijing so great. She added so much value to this tour.

Our guide on the 22nd was Helen and on the 23rd Bobbie. Both were great and have good knowledge of the places we have visited. Many thanks to both of them. Communication from Travel China guides was very good and fulfilled all that they offered at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Had a most wonderful time with Helen both days. The tours allow you to cover a lot of ground in a densely-packed schedule, and is great for folks still adjusting to timezones as it forces you to be out and about, while taking care of the transport. Day 1 lunch is great, day 2 was as well but we needed some help picking the right spot :)

I still cannot believe all of the things we did today. Helen is amazing! She really was the star of the show. She coordinated everything so we really only had to enjoy the experience. Pick up was easy. Transportation was comfortable. Our food was delicious, and the sites were incredible.

Helen was an outstanding tour guide. She was knowledgeable and efficient. We enjoyed the Great Wall Tour immensely and all other site seeing. On the second day the tour was also great with the petit Mongolian former school teacher. She was very knowledgeable but I forgot her name

What a fantastic tour. Helen is very knowledgeable and communicative. I appreciate Mr. Lee picking us up at our hotel and dropping us off after a long day. The lunch buffet was very good. I liked the different options to get to the start and end the Great Wall (cable car, chair lift, toboggan). The Great Wall is also very well maintained. The staff are amazing at keeping it clean. The size of the group was perfect, intimate and lovely people. I liked how every entrance fee was handled by Helen. Overall it was a memorable and easy tour. Would recommend and do again

This is an action-packed tour that covers many great highlights in the Beijing area. We were fortunate enough to have Helen as our guide. She is simply amazing and honestly the best guide we have ever had. She is so informative and friendly and has the perfect touch to keep her group organized and on track. We definitely recommend taking this tour if you are ever in Beijing.

We visited the Forbidden city, Temple of Heaven, lunch in a local restaurant the food was good, the Hutong and Tiananmen Square with our guide Lisa. Lisa was amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and even booked us an evening show to see the acrobatics. I cannot speak too highly of her. There were crowds at all the attractions , but this did not stop us from seeing all that we needed to. Although I loved everything about the day my favourite part was the acrobatic show a must see if you are able. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful day. We will be back.

Helen was a fantastic tour guide. You can tell that she really enjoy’s her job. Her excitement was contagious. She was very knowledgeable and explained the information almost like a story teller. I will never forget some of the lessons she taught us, especially the Chinese history surrounding “Dragon Lady”.The story was so intriguing that I went home to learn more. My favorite part of the tour was the Summer Palace. Loved it! Thank you Helen for such an eventful day.

Helen was the most amazing tour guide. We went during golden week which was insanely busy and Helen still managed to make the whole day go so smoothly manoeuvring us to all the different spots with ease and professionalism. What would have been an extremely difficult day to orchestrate ourselves was made incredibly enjoyable by Helen.

An amazing one-day tour! Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Our guide Helen was fantastic — so accommodating and genuinely funny. We were picked up from our hotel’s lobby even though it was not one of the listed pick-up location. We took the chairlift up to Tower 6 and tobogganed down, which was a highlight. We also enjoyed a tea tasting and learned so much about jade, Tiananmen Square, and the Forbidden City and a buffet lunch. Highly recommend — definitely book this tour!

This was my first time ever visiting Beijing and China in general, so I was really looking forward to exploring the city and experiencing its famous attractions. What I didn’t realize when planning my vacation was that my visit coincided with Golden Week, one of the busiest holiday periods in China. Unfortunately, I hadn’t been aware of just how busy it would be, and by the time I realized, I wasn’t able to get tickets to some of the major attractions I had hoped to visit. Luckily I was still able book this tour a day prior. The tour included: Tickets Door to door pickup A wonderful tour guide -Helen Lunch and drinks A small group size etc. I would especially like to give a big shout-out to our tour guide, Helen, who truly made our day special! Traveling during Golden Week was definitely challenging, with enormous crowds and heavy traffic everywhere, but Helen handled everything with such patience, professionalism, and care. What I appreciated most was that she never made us feel rushed, despite how busy everything was. Instead, she constantly made sure we were comfortable and reminded us through her actions that we were her top priority. She has an incredible amount of knowledge and shared so much interesting information with us throughout the tour, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Helen also went out of her way to make the day memorable, even arranging for us to take a group photo with Geishas. It was such a thoughtful little extra! Getting to the Great Wall during Golden Week was particularly challenging because of the traffic, but Helen managed the situation incredibly well and did everything she could to make sure we arrived on time. What impressed me most was how attentive she was to all ten people in our group, despite everyone having different plans and hotel locations. At the end of the tour, she helped those who wanted to visit Wangfujing with recommendations on where to shop. For those of us staying farther from the city center, she thoughtfully arranged separate DiDi rides for our group and another family so we could get back to our hotels as quickly as possible, taking the terrible Golden Week traffic into consideration. She really thought about what would work best for everyone rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Helen was knowledgeable, organized, considerate, and genuinely caring. You could tell that she wanted everyone to have a great experience and feel taken care of throughout the day. We all absolutely loved her, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better tour guide! If you're visiting Beijing, I would highly recommend booking a tour with Helen. She made a challenging day run smoothly and gave us a wonderful experience that we will remember!

I made a tour with TCG. One Day tour to Tiananmen Square, forbidden city and Chines Wall Mutianyu. It was a long day .but we had a great tourguide Lily who took good care of us. And because of the National holiday week here , it was very crowded. But Lily managed us through the chaos pretty well. And avoided that we lost in the chaos. I was tired at the and but i was very satisfied about the one day tour. So thank you Lily , I saw you hard working that( long) day.my respect. Alfons Goossens

The Beijing 1-Day Tour was absolutely fantastic! 100% recommended. Helen was our tour guide, and she facilitated every step of the tour with everyone's best interest the whole way. Always checking in with us. Her experience and passion was very clear, but she also helped speed us through the lines since she's built so many connections within the security route! It helped things go so smoothly, and meant there was almost no down time and all active tour time. I can't say it enough - honestly perfect. Makes me wish I'd gotten the 2-day tour so I could see her tomorrow too!

Helen was amazing from start to finish, showing us the highlights of Beijing. Everything went exactly to plan, picked up from our hotel on time. We upgraded to private tour due to oneof our members being injured on our trip. Day 1 started our rough. The driver was 1 hour late due to traffic control in Beijing. We did not get to physically stand in lineman square due to this. After our 1st stop at the driver then took about 30 minutes to get to the meeting spot. Our guide Tiffany ended up buying some popsicle from a vendor due to heat. We then drove over 1.5 hours to lunch arriving close to 2pm. After lunch was the great wall (we were the last to leave at 6pm) almost causing us to miss our tourist tea ceremony. Day 2 went a little better (driver showed up on time) our 1st to stops were packed shoulder to shoulder with people, welcome to Beijing. By the end of stop 2 I was getting heat stroke and needed to go back to hotel. Guide said they would drop me off, but instead went to stop 3 and told me I needed to get a cab. Guide was supposed to pay for cab and did not (was reimbursed) other members did last 2 stops 1 being a 1 way rickshaw which they had to walk back to car. All in all saw your typical sites but nothing special offered even for the up charge of private tour. Quick add, guided knowing she sent me in a taxi not feeling well with heat stroke, never did even follow up to see if I arrived and how I was doing.

Helen is so friendly and knowledgeable and made our experience so smooth. The entire day was on schedule thanks to her. Also learned a lot about the history of the forbidden city and the Great Wall.

Helen was my guide day 1 and she made sure everything went very smoothly, the day was fun and the best day I’ve had traveling so far on this trip. Jesse was the guide day 2 and if you want to learn a lot about the places she is very knowledgeable, she made sure everything went smooth. I would recommend the trip for anyone wanting to experience the main Beijing experiences although by the end of the second day I was tired but that’s what traveling is about!

We booked the Beijing 2 Days Tour, we had Helen as our guide for Day 2 where we visited Temple of Heaven - Hutong Rickshaw Tour & Local Family Visit - Lama Temple - Summer Palace. It was an excellent tour with outstanding service by Helen, who was friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive to everyone in the group. She shared fascinating information about Beijing's history and made the whole trip enjoyable and well organized. The itinerary was excellent, transportation was smooth. Helen provided clear pick-up details the night before via WhatsApp, and constant check-ins on the day itself and ensured we arrived at the meeting point without any issue. Throughout the tour, Helen provided clear and succinct information on each location and gave us ample free time for photos and a leisurely walk before we regrouped and were ushered to the next location. On the second day, our tour guide was Helen. Helen is a lovely person and we had a very good time with her. We would definitely recommend the tour, especially if it’s your first time in Beijing, because the ticketing system can be quite overwhelming.
