We booked the 2 day Beijing tour. Everything was communicated well and organised perfectly. Our guide Susie was AMAZING! She made sure that we got to certain places before the crowds and kept us up to date with information and timings. We had exactly the right amount of time to enjoy each attraction- she is very well organised and a credit to the Company. Lunch was included both days and was delicious. I left my jacket on the bus on the last day and they managed to get it sent back to me that evening. Excellent customer service. Thank you for an outstanding tour!

You will visit the Tiananmen Square, the biggest city square in the world. There are the Great Hall of People, Chairman Mao's Mausoleum and National Museum in the Square.
You will be guided through this Imperial Residence for almost 600 years in the last two dynasties in China, to find out the histories flow between the archaic buildings, and to feel the massiveness of this wooden structural complex.
After exit the Forbidden City, you can choose to climb the hill in Jingshan Park, to get to the top pavilion to over look the whole Forbidden City.
This is the heaven worshipping place for almost 600 years during the last two dynasties in China. You will see the magnificent altar and the relics used during the ceremony in there. And then have a nice walk through the Park Area to find out how local aged people spend their day there and look for a secret date matching spot in there.
Day 2

You will be driven to the Mutianyu Great Wall through a beautiful countryside road, you will arrive earlier enough to avoid the crowds and queues to better enjoy the Wall. You will spend about 2 hours hiking on the Wall before gathering up for lunch. You can choose to take a ski - lift up and toboggan sliding down, it is highly recommended, so that you won't need to climb 30mins stairs before reaching the actual Great Wall.
Driving pass the Olympic Stadium - Bird Nest. It is closed, so that we won't stop here, but you can take photos in the car.
You will enjoy a nice view and a cooler summer in here. First you will see the Palace Area to find out how luxury life the Imperial Family had, and then have a walk through the longest Corridor with paintings in the world to get on an Imperial Ferry Boat(if available) in Kunming Lake to enjoy the stunning view of this massive Imperial Garden, which was a birthday gift from an emperor to his mother almost 300 years ago.

Reviews
The tour took us to the most iconic sights in and around Beijing over a two day period. It was an excellent way to see the major attractions when time in the city was limited
Suzi took our group for the Beijing City tour. We found her enthusiastic, friendly and willing to help. She was full of energy and took charge of the tour naturally. The tour was compact and took in most of the important historical sites of Beijing in one day.
Keith was super nice and friendly. So much better doing things through this company instead of the larger groups
Great experience at the great wall and forbidden city. Also, the stunt was surprisingly very good. Keith was great.
Keith was very accommodating and helpful. The tour guide makes a huge difference and Keith was excellent. He went the "extra mile" to find and return a pair of sunglasses lost ny my daughter. Thank you!
This was the perfect two day trip in Beijing. It was well paced. Keith was our guide for the day at the Great Wall. He was top notch. Very informative and easy going. Super comfortable mini van. We had a good amount of time on the wall itself, two hours to do our own thing. Susie was our guide for the Forbidden City/Tiananmen Square day. She navigated us through the myriad of security checks and led us to the highlights, which took all of the guesswork out of where to go. Susie was so lovely, and went above and beyond with helping us book a restaurant for dinner. The lunches were excellent both days. You need a reasonable fitness level as there is a lot of walking. Avoid the optional tea ceremony, the tea is outrageously expensive. Would recommend this tour 10/10.
Despite travelling on the May holidays we managed to see all highlights coming before the main crowds. Wanted to mention Keith for excellent English and interesting stories.
Excellent, long days but worthy when you have few days to see Beijing. We enjoy the most spectacular places before the crowds for better pictures. Li, our tour guide on the first day was outstanding.
David was an amazing tour guide and person while touring the city sites of Beijing. He led us to the different areas providing us the background. He also took us shopping to a mall before taking us to see the wonderful acrobatic show (a must). He ensured the driver was waiting for us outside the theater to take us to our hotel. We accidentally left a piece of carry-on on the plane and had to deal with various areas at the airport (eventually lost & found). David contacted the Beijing Airport Lost and Found Department and helped locate our baggage and had it shipped to our hotel. He continually monitored the situation to ensure we received it. Unbelievable service and caring! Keith was a great guide showing us the Great Wall, Summer Palace and stadium. He provided us with a concise explanation of the various sites as he led us through them. We had excellent Chinese lunches both days. A great tour led by wonderful guides gave us a memorable experience. You cannot go wrong with this tour.
We did the two day tour and it was great. The transport was amazing and certainly an advantage to us as it was a holiday weekend and very busy. The sights were great and food yum. Keith our guide was fun and very informative.
We really enjoyed our trips. Since we started early, we could avoid the crowd. Our gudes Susie&Keith wete extremely good
Be prepared to have an amazing experience. Wear comfortable shoes and don’t forget a water bottle. The guides were knowledgeable and ordered amazing food for the group.
10/5 stars ⭐️! This was a perfect quick tour of the highlights in Beijing. We had Keith for the Great Wall and he nailed it on timing and history - taking us early to miss the crowds. We basically had the wall to ourselves! Loved the Summer Palace as well- beauty and history in one! On day 2, we had Susie and she was a gem! Despite the freezing cold weather and SNOW, she was cheerful and guided us through Tienenman Square, Forbidden City, and Temple of Heaven and took us to see an acrobats show! On both days we had an authentic Chinese lunch meal (which was excellent). Overall, the tours went better than imagined and I’m glad I did it! Thanks Kieth and Susie; I will be back! A few comments: 1. There is a 3-person minimum required for each day of the tour (it’s in the descriptions). The company was very communicative with us about this as we were only 2 people on the first day. Although it seemed a little suspicious, it was genuine and the other tourist and I ended up splitting the cost of the 3rd person to keep the first day tour. We had no regrets doing this and felt great getting basically a private tour! Just be mindful this may happen if you go on an unpopular day. However, they gave us alternatives (change days, refunds), and let us decide what we wanted to do. So, it’s not a scam! 2. Physical activity. I’m a very overweight person and damn near thought I was going to die on the HILL to the Great Wall entrance. However, I took my time and was not rushed by the guide and eventually made it. The steps are quite steep on the “easy path” of the tour. I was able to go at my own pace and walk for almost an hour on the wall. The second day of the tour was mostly flat except for the climb to the Fulan Pavilion to overlook the Forbidden City (290 meters high, almost 950 foot elevation). Again - I almost died! But it’s split into 3 stopping points for you to catch your breath (or simply stop at one of the lower pavillions). However, if you make it to the top, the view is literally worth the climb. All in, on each day I cleared about 18K steps (~12 km, almost 8 miles) of walking. But, if I can do it - you can too! Wear comfortable shoes with good cushions, watch your steps for the uneven path, and take your time and you WON’T regret it!
Great tour & covered lots of main attractions in Beijing. Our guide, Susie & Keith are professional, friendly & extremely helpful. Great arrangements with private luxury vehicle hauling around. The best experience we can get!
We had a great time. We only had a few days in Beijing and this tour allowed us to see a lot of important sites. We were not rushed but saw a lot. Mike and Keith were fantastic and helpful. We saw everything, had plenty of time, and enjoyed the small group, tailored experience. We would definitely use this company again.
This is an excellent way to see Beijing without any hassle. Our first day was the Great Wall and Summer palace with Susie. We were collected from our hotel & had a brilliant time at the wall. Susie spoke excellent English slowly so we understood. She was so sweet, friendly and helpful. Lunch was fantastic in a local restaurant. We all decided to go to the acrobats and it was amazing. Next day was Tianemen square & the forbidden city. Davis was a big disappointment after Susie as a guide. He rushed us through, spoke very quickly & took us to a silk factory saying it was a toilet break. I know the company no longer use him. Susie was exceptional & even helped me book things after the tour was over. Overall, the best way to see the highlights of Beijing.
Day 1: The guide showed very little intention of taking us around properly (finish 1st day before 2pm). He took us through back roads whenever possible and did not take guests to the highest viewpoint in Jingshan Park, which offers the best views of the Forbidden City and surrounding Beijing. Instead, he led us to a dodgy shopping stop selling “knock-off” or potentially fake items at extremely high prices. Day 2: This day was slightly better (possibly due the the great wall experience), but still disappointing. The tour description said a maximum of 9 people, yet there were 11 participants. We were placed in a separate van from the guide, and the driver did not speak a single word of English. The guide gave explanations over a phone call while driving in another car with different guests. In the afternoon, he again took us to a questionable location near the Great Wall. He described it as a government-run free tea ceremony, but after the “ceremony,” guests were pressured into buying so-called “organic” tea at very high prices. Please be aware of these kinds of tactics. This two-day tour seriously affected our impression of China after what had been an amazing three-week trip.
This is a wonderful way to see Beijing! You need to make sure your hotel is in their pickup zone and the rest is easy. They pick you up at your hotel, guide you through the sites, a great lunch both days, some more sites, then drop you back at your hotel. We added the acrobat show and super glad we did - amazing! Our guide the second day, Susie, was fantastic! Can't imagine doing it any other way :)
This was our first trip to Beijing China. I would like to stress that without a good guide and tour it would be impossible to navigate this very complex city. We booked this tour so that we could see the major highlights without having to set up multiple tours. I have only good things about our experience. We set up wechat on our phones before we left the U.S.. This is the easiest way to communicate with the tour operator and is very useful while in China. It includes translate. We checked in and made sure they had our passport, hotel and other requested information a few of days prior to the tour. They contacted us the night before via email and wechat with the tour guide name Keith and the pick up time at the hotel. The tour picked us up on time. It was three of us: myself, my wife and daughter. We joined three others on the tour. The first stop was the great wall. This is a long drive up to the mountains. Keith speaks great English (very uncommon in Beijing) and answered any questions along the way. Also it was important for an early departure, we arrived and completed the great wall tour before huge masses of tour buses swamped with people arrived. We had lunch at a restaurant located near the entrance to the great wall. The food and tour were great. The second stop was a view of the Olympic birds nest and then on to the Summer palace. This was another long drive, and great tour. By the time we finished, I was pretty worn out , it had been a full day of walking. We completed all this in the first day. The second day started a little later but was set up the night before for pick up on wechat and email. Our first stop was Tienamen Square. There are three sets of security to enter Tienamen square. Do not forget your passport as they check it three times and are very strict on entry. The third check is basically a full pat down. After seeing the square and getting information from our new guide -we then proceeded to the forbidden city. Both were amazing. Also a very long tour that requires some stamina as you will walk several miles. After the forbidden city we went to the park (walking distance attached to back of forbidden city) and trekked to the top where you can get a view of the scale of the forbidden city. After completing we met back up with the van and headed to lunch close to the temple of heaven. This was also anther great meal. The last part of the tour was the temple of heaven . I am not going into detail with all you will see as it is simply just too much to cover. But know that any one stop on this tour could easily take multiple days to see everything. This tour allows you to see as much as possible in a two day span. Amazing tour because the informative and helpful Guides.
It was amazing! Addiction Travel’s customer service and theirs tour guides, David and Keith did a fantastic job!
This was a marathon. The Great Wall almost killed me, but it was worth the exertion. You should be in reasonable shape to do this tour properly. It's a lot of walking, but all the sites were great. The food was lovely and the tour guide was excellent.
I really recommend this tour. The guides are very good and helpful, everything works pretty good. The meals are included at the tour and we went to local restaurants and having the Chinese experience. You visit the most important places for a tourist experience and they provide all of the tickets. I loved the experience.
It is a very nice tour, loved all the attraions in this tour, easy and comfortable. Both tour guides are really nice, willing to help and shared lots of information. Thanks a lot, will recommend to my all friends!
Really nice trip to see all the highlights of the Beijing and of the Great Wall. With 2 nice and funny guides Mike and Keith. They made a great day for us. Thank you.
Our 2-days tour with Keith was excellent !! we was so flexible with us, offered to pick us up from our hotel which was far from the center of the city. He customized the tour based on our preference and needs, picked Chinese dishes to try and it was sooo good !.He speaks very well english, has a nice comfortable mini-van. I highly recommend him ! Thank you Keith for everything you've done ! As per Beijing, it's a wonderful city, I highly recommend to visit with a guide, because on your own it's not as easy. most people dont speak english, Google and Meta are blocked, credit cards are rarely accepted, so traveling is not as easy. make sure not to fall for tourists traps, they will sell you a product for 10x it's price.
It’s a lot of walking. I love it had an amazing experience with both David and Keith. On day 1 went to the wall and summer palace. The food was amazing. Ended the day with a surprise tea ceremony. Day 2 I had to do private bc no one else booked. Did have to pay a slight surcharge for this but was worth it to have private tour for the old city. My guide suggested a show at the end bc I had time. He set it up and set up my ride back to the hotel. It was this attention to details and surprises that made the days great.
I booked the 2 day tour, including Great Wall and forbidden city, and was very pleased with it. The tour was very complete and very well structured. My tour guides were Keith and Mike, both are very great and can give you a lot of detail to the tour and answer every question. Also perfect English level from both. When I come back to Beijing with family I’ll definitely book this tour again and ask for both guides!
My son and I had a quick weekend in Beijing booked this trip for one of our days. Our tour guide was Alice and she was amazing. I highly recommend this day trip if you want to see multiple sites on the same day, not worry about driving, and have an extremely knowledgeable guide that also takes really good pictures.
Great tour! No notes. Keith was great. Learned and got some great photos. What a super experience. Would recommend to anyone!
While our tour guides were knowledgeable, the company demands extra money 24 hours before departure on the tour. If you don't pay, then you don't have a tour. I paid the extra amount, but I was also shorten on time at an attraction. If you have another option, choose it.
Very complete tour. I like that we had two days to do everything. Good was very good as well, which is unusual for this kind of tours. Will definitely recommended, especially if you are short of time in Beijing.
Each day had a different guide in two-day tour. The second guide, Mike, was very good in particular with his good English and skilled guideship. He was punctual in picking me up on the morning.
That was a great tour..both days we had great tour guys and they we really enjoyed all the places they took us..the lunch was great too and we highly recommend taking this tour
Booking this was a good decision. There are plenty of different tours out there - glad I ended up booking this! Managed to see the Great Wall, Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, and Temple of Heaven in 2 days! Tour included good lunches as well which would cater for those with dietary needs (we had a vegetarian in our group). There was even an option to try tea houses and see the hutongs/Shichahai area (albeit touristy tea houses) which was nice :) What I enjoyed was the degree of flexibility in the tours, in that if there is time and interest, they can show specific things (ie park near the olympic stadium to take photos). Thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Great Wall as well - definitely get the tour that includes the Toboggan ride down :) Best to try and do the challenging route of the Mutianyu great wall if youre up to it ;) Only con would be that the number going on a group can be dependent on who books the tour. I unfortunately had to pay extra to do the inner city tour as we didnt have enough people, but I wanted to stay with the company and they ensured I didnt fork out too much more money because of it. Would definitely get friends/family to do this tour next time. Obviously, the time frame means you wont get a lot of time for each sights, but it's a good taster! :) Thanks for the experience Keith and David! :)
Very good tour. Our guide Keith was very knowledgeable and helpful. Communication was very good. Pick up on time, good lunch.
Our group of 5 all had a tremendous time seeing the major sights of Beijing and packed a lot into the schedule over 2 days. On Day 1 of the tour covering inner Beijing, our guide David organised everything immaculately from transport to admission tickets and a delicious lunch as well as guiding us through the ubiquitous security checks. He offered us additional tourism options which enhanced our Beijing experience. His friendly manner and willingness to answer questions were very much appreciated and helped to make it a most memorable day. On Day 2 we really enjoyed the Great Wall (arrived early in the morning avoiding the crowds) and Summer Palace illuminated by Keith's interesting explanations of the historical background delivered with engaging humour throughout. The toboggan ride down from the Wall was a wonderful fun highlight.
Very organized tour. Our tour guides Keith and David were very professional. We learned a lot from them.
This was a great and exciting way to discover Beijing! Our guide, David, made sure to facilitate things for us, explain all what he knows, and take us around the city and its key sights. I highly recommend this tour as Beijing is a busy city and hard to navigate on your own. An experimented guide will be a great help, and getting to know the context of each of the spotlights will enhance your experience. David also took us to great eating spots and even offered his help and advice for what we wanted/needed to know after the tour. Totally recommend!
David our tour guide has huge heart an knowledge. He was a great help during our tour. This tour was a once in a lifetime experiece, and I really enjoyed it. Once again, without David, this tour would be less, however everything was so pretty. Thank you for the chance to being with you.
We loved this 2 days Beijing tour very much! The itinerary is very good, not intense, don’t feel rushed, well planned. And the tour guides are very nice, very helpful, and very knowledgeable, and answered all our questions. Thanks to Keith and David! Also, Keith’s van was super nice and conformable, wishes we could buy it back home. The attractions are very nice, no crowds at this time of the year which is a plus! We loved Mutianyu section of the great wall, and its toboggan slide down, was very fan! The forbidden palace was massive, with lots of things to see and learned lots of history there. This is a very nice tour to do, highly recommended to everyone!
I would recommend this tour to everyone. The Palace and the Terracotta Solders were spectacular. Rocky my tour guild was amazing. I learned sow much from his knowledge.
We travelled as a group of 3 and we were super thankful for this tour because they pretty much took care of everything for us. Our first day was with David who took us on a tour through the inner city. It was an interesting and educational experience with lots of amazing scenic views and great photo spots. He took good care of us and even went out of his way to ensure we saw everything we wanted to see, even if it wasn’t part of our itinerary. We mentioned wanting to do a tea ceremony and he planned it seamlessly into our day. Our second day was with Keith who took us to the summer palace and to the great wall. He went out of his way to accommodate for us and even helped us avoid the worst of the queues and the waiting around. That day too was a very fun day, learning lots of the history associated with the two places and again, getting some pretty awesome pictures.
I debated writing this review. But if I were the person buying this tour, I would've loved to know the pros and cons before making the purchase. Pros: Both guides speak Good English They are knowledgeable Cover a lot of places The cons: They won't pick you up if you are outside the 2nd Ring Road. The female tour guide dropped everyone off at a hotel, knowing that we couldn't call a taxi because of the language barrier. We told her that we needed a taxi to go to our hotel. The female tour guide was less organized than the guy from the day before. I was debating about leaving a review because it was a two-day tour with different people. One did great, and the other was OK.
It’s a great option if you want to have a good experience while in Beijing. The tour is great, it starts very punctual and Keith explains everything in english clearly. While in the tour you don’t have to worry for anything because they do everything for you. It’s a great option if you have only a few days in Beijing. We also met great people while in the tour and its almost prívate in a nice van :)
I was visiting China for the first time and this small tour gave me a care-free experience of the highlights in Beijing. Plus as a solo traveler it was a great way to meet others from around the world.
Our tour guide David was very knowledgeable about the places he brought us. Overall a very good experience would highly recommend.
The guide is not only highly professional but also punctual, ensuring that schedules are strictly followed without delays. His ability to manage time effectively allows the group to stay on track, maximizing the experience without feeling rushed or delayed. This level of punctuality demonstrates reliability and respect for everyone’s time, which enhances the overall quality of the service he provides.
David was an excellent guide for our 2 day tour. His knowledge to explain the main history behind the Forbidden Palace, Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven was very impressive. He speaks clearly and was very helpful in answering our questions. The tour of the Great Wall was a highlight with great photos to be made with your travelling partner. We highly recommend David to any other travellers looking for a brief trip to see the main historical sites in and around Beijing.
We enjoyed this tour so much! We thought the walking in the city day tour would be long and crowded, but it was alright, not that much walking, also had few stops for resting. And it was not crowded, our tour guide really knows the way to avoid the crowds, thumbs up! The tour groups for both days were small, around 5 people only, were very nice people, and had a very good time with them. The tour guides are super nice, too. Learned lots of history and culture about China, also about the local food and nice place to go at night in Beijing. They were always willing to answer questions even though sometimes we asked too much. Thanks again, will recommend this tour to my friends and family, you guys did a great job!
