We stayed last year and had wonderful experiences so we stayed there again this year. However we had several issues with we also communicated when we were asked for feedback during our last breakfast there. First, let me say all the employees, from the front desk, dining room, conceige, cleaning personnel are absolutely superb. They truly believe in serving the customers to their best abilities! We also enjoyed the location and did some sightseeing and hiking up to Lotus Mountain, which is the highest point in Dalian. The view is absolutely gorgeous! 1. The smell of smoke in rooms and common areas, such as 3td floor elevator areas and hallway walk to the fitness center. We had to be changed to another room, because the room we were first assigned was reeked with smoke. 2. Some of the rooms are outdated, we stayed in rooms with yellow/beige wallpaper, they are stains on the wall you can clearly see, which is not a good reflection of hotel status. Also the suite room has a combination of a king bedroom and very young child decoration of a tent with stuffed animals. You would think they adjust that when there are older children checking into the hotel, that is not the case at all. The decoration is the same every time. I also found the combination of king bed/stuff animals interesting. 3. We booked two rooms and wanted our kids to spend some time with grandparents playing Majong. The designated Majong room is 200 yuan for 1 hour, which seems to be very expensive to us. 4. Temperature: you can not adjust the temperature and it runs hot at 23 degree. For us, we prefer a lower temperature for sleeping. The front desk did provide us with a fan, which we didn't end up using. Again thank you for the wonderful staff members who worked hard to make our stay wonderful!

We love staying in this beautiful & iconic castle on our visits to Dalian. The views of the city & the bay are absolutely gorgeous. I especially enjoyed the pool & the rooftop garden. There's also a kids club with daycare services for busy parents.
Our stay at The Castle Hotel was nothing short of impeccable. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, promptly handling our luggage and transferring it to our room. The thoughtful touch of offering tea at check-in was delightful, and we greatly appreciated the early check-in, which allowed us to start enjoying the stunning venue right away. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, with charming details that make it feel like a fairytale retreat. We loved watching the deer wander outside—it added such a magical touch to the experience. The convenience of the shuttle service down the mountain was also a major plus, though we did find it a bit tricky to figure out how to call the shuttle from the base. A little more clarity on that process would be helpful for future guests. The only minor improvement we’d suggest is with the breakfast buffet—while the selection was good, the food was more lukewarm than hot. A bit more attention to keeping dishes at the ideal temperature would make it perfect. Overall, The Castle Hotel provided a luxurious and memorable stay, and we can’t wait to return! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a serene and elegant getaway. **5/5 stars!** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The hotel has got to be one of the best in Dalian. However, coming here at the start of winter when the outside temperature is still at 17 degree Celsius is a pain. The room temperature will only go as low as 24 degree Celsius if not higher. I made a complain about the hot room, but to no avail. It is said that this is the state’s regulation to not run air condition. Last year during the same month, we stayed in Grand Hyatt Dalian and they did not turn their room into hot sauna for their guests. So I am not very sure that the reason given by The Castle Hotel is genuine. On a side note, breakfast was good and room service’s menu is decent. Room size is big and comfortable. Bed is soft unlike many other hotels in China. If you miss the shuttle service after 7pm, the walk back to the hotel uphill will only take 7 mins. Will I come back to this hotel during the same month of the year, nope… I’ll probably head back to Grand Hyatt Dalian for a comfortable temperature throughout the day.
What you see is what you get! Just like living in a fairy tale. Love the vibe of this hotel, classic, luxury and beautiful. Great view, chill vibes and beautiful interior, room was great and clean with a nice sea view. The staff is attentive and the croissant in the breakfast was really good, possibly the best one we had by far! The only downside is pool required visitors to wear a swim cap and if you do not have one, you can get one from them for a ripped off price of 150RMB. Fix this and the hotel is perfect.
