The Westin Tianjin

Location is central, staff speak English and the rooms are spacious with nice view. There is also a pool. Currently the hotel is under renovation but it did not affect my stay.

As a platinum member of several hotel groups, I stayed at The Westin Tianjin with my family (including elderly members), and overall the experience was very satisfying. Although parts of the hotel were under renovation during our stay, operations remained well-organized and service was consistently attentive, with no impact on the overall experience. I would especially like to thank Duty Manager Icy Xu and her team for their professionalism and thoughtful assistance throughout our stay. The hotel enjoys an excellent location within walking distance to several key city landmarks, making it both convenient and safe for travel. Our suite offered a wide view overlooking Nanjing Road and a distant view of the Tianjin Eye Tower, with beautiful night scenery that reflects the city’s charm. The room was spacious and well-equipped. The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring excellent rest quality. A large refrigerator was also provided, adding convenience and thoughtful detail to the stay. The hotel has a strong international atmosphere, with many foreign guests as well as family travelers, creating a comfortable and well-balanced environment. Dining was also impressive. The evening service offering noodles and wontons was warm and comforting, while breakfast featured local Tianjin specialties such as traditional tea soup and Zhang Ji buns, providing an authentic regional experience. Facilities were well maintained, with a good swimming pool and gym. Complimentary drinks and fruits are available on the first floor, and the in-room minibar is also free, reflecting thoughtful attention to detail. Although the front desk was quite busy, service efficiency and attitude remained excellent, and the check-in process was smooth. A special mention goes to Manager Xu, who proactively arranged a wheelchair after learning about our elderly companion, enabling us to comfortably visit the Five Avenues area and create meaningful family memories. Overall, this is a hotel with an excellent location, stable service, and genuine warmth. It is ideal for both leisure and family stays, truly delivering a “home away from home” experience. Highly recommended.

When you select a hotel by a brand, you go with certain expectations. Rooms are definitely comfortable, but the hotel is clearly lacking maintenance. The curtains from windows were not closing properly allowing light to enter during the night. Windows were very dusty as well. AC is never cooling off even when setting the lowest temperature. The drain of my shower was clogged and the mirror with clear spots of rusty demonstrating how poor is the maintenance there. Finally, the hotel is revamping the lobby with several restrictions in place.

I stayed at the hotel from October 15 to 17 while attending the Tianjin Heli Expo. The staff were all very kind and genuinely tried their best to provide good service. In particular, the front desk staff member named Icy was exceptionally customer-oriented. She proactively helped adjust my Spanish friend’s accommodation charge in a fair and reasonable way from the customer’s perspective, which deeply impressed both of us. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Icy for her kindness and excellent service. The hotel room was clean, spacious, and offered a great night view of the buildings along the Haihe River. The lobby seemed to have limited seating because of the coffee shop, and it was a bit inconvenient since there was no clear information on whether guests could sit there without ordering a drink. The breakfast selection was very diverse and fresh—I highly recommend it. There were also several large shopping malls within a 10-minute walk, and using Didi (ride-hailing service) was very convenient.
