I stayed here for 2 nights in Beijing on my way home. It is a good location in so far as it’s close to the skp mall and also not super far from the mall of China and also the silk market (fairly long walk but manageable if you like walking ) check in was seamless and the person was really polite . I asked for a clothes rail to hang some hand washing items up but they didn’t really understand - even though I showed them a picture . The man at the desk said he would find out but a few hours later he hadn’t and if I had not called and asked the simple request would have fallen by the wayside . The rooms were spacious - slightly Old fashioned and need updating . Bathrooms were fine . I think it’s an older hotel. The gym and pool seemed ok- I only used the gym but didn’t go in the swimming pool. They only took my request seriously about the clothes rail after I asked to speak to the manager and then they moved me to a room with a fridge like device that can steam and dry clothes - was ok but took a while to work- a simple clothes rail would have been cheaper and more effective. I stayed in the four seasons in Beijing and mandarin oriental in Shanghai and both provided one. It might seem like a trivial Thing but these small things matter. The service otherwise was fine- the lady who was duty manager was very polite and was trying to help . The man on the door was really kind as well and helped me go back to my old room as I left my passport in the safe. For the price it was perfectly reasonable . Handy having the mall nearby for food or shopping. There is an arabica coffee really nearby which was good for the mornings. I did pay for breakfast for 2 days but found the breakfast a bit boring . Also the person at breakfast came up to me and said they have lot of vegetarian and halal options which I thought was good for people who need this specific dietary requirement . The breakfast area seemed slightly dated and although there was lots of selection I found the croissants a bit dry and pretty basic. Would I go back? If I am going to Beijing I would probably spend a bit extra and stay somewhere else if it was a vacation- although it money was an issue and I was going on business then it would be fine for a night or two.

The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing does not hold up to the name of the Ritz-Carlton branding, and is far from what a true 5-star hotel should deliver. Of the 5 nights we stayed in the property, there were several experiences that made us reconsider our choice of staying here. On the first night, while I was prepping the bath tub, I spotted a used, dried contact lens on the ledge of the tub. Upon reporting this via the Marriott app, the staff did offer to come up to clean the tub, but as it was late I had rejected their offer. However, this showed that the housekeeping team did not do their due diligence when sanitizing rooms upon turnaround, which is a big red flag. Next, breakfast service was definitely sub-par. Of the 5 breakfasts we had at Aroma, 3 days the server asked what drinks we wanted after we were brought to the table, and thereafter not sending it. I guess they were either busy, or they just had to ask as part of their procedure, but not actually following up. Lastly, the turndown service was a let down. Every night during turndown service, there would be a card placed on the bed, showcasing a different tea from China. During the first night, I was excited to read this said card, and expected that tea would have been made in the room's tea set. Heavily disappointed. Asked reception about the purpose of this card, and they mentioned that the property 'focuses on tea'. And when asked if they have such tea to purchase to try, they said no. So why would you introduce different teas every night, only for guests to be left wondering? It ended up being 5 nights of wasted cards. Oh, and at check-in, staff mentioned that the room type we booked, the Ritz-Carlton Club room, was unavailable for upgrade, but yet tried to up-sell us on the higher-tier rooms. TLDR; I would not return to this property, nor recommend others in staying here.
Had a great stay at The Ritz Carlton Beijing! Thank you Harrison Lu and Louis for the great customer service. What was meant to be the final stop of my Beijing trip turned out to be one of the most memorable hotel stays I have ever experienced. From the warm welcome to the thoughtful birthday decorations, every detail was beautifully arranged and exceeded my expectations. A special thank you to Mr. Orona, Amily and the entire team for their genuine hospitality and exceptional service. I felt truly valued throughout my stay and only wished I could have stayed a few more days. Thank you for making my birthday so special. I look forward to returning to The Ritz-Carlton Beijing in the future.
Titanium member alert- if you are titanium members of Marriott and deserve to get all the eligibility of hotels then this is not the correct place to be. Even with us app showing all our eligibility to have lounge access and other amenities they denied and said it need to be paid and not free. We do not honour Marriott bonvoy benefits. After showing room booking details also they did not agree and simply denied the entry. Very bad attitude of person at receptions. Attached my booking details
