Room is amazing - nothing to complain about. However, as a muslim traveller I requested halal options (qing zhen) for breakfast. Was assured that there would be but only to find that there was none. I booked sofitel specifically for this as online and tiktok reviews stated it was halal friendly but in actual fact this is not the case. Location is really good. Main tourism spots are close by and cost very minimal amounts to get to by cab through the didi app.

Outstanding Tang Palace restaurant services and foods. The services and foods of the Tang Palace at Sofitel Beijing Central are simply outstanding. The amount of details, food texture, taste balance and display are awesome. We came late evening to get a quick dinner on the first night. We ended up having 3 meals during our stay to try out from soup, meat, seafood and yum cha.
Over the years I have stayed in many Accor hotels from Ibis to Fairmont in many cities around the world In China I have stayed in Mercure/Novotel/Sofitel/Fairmont In the past I had stayed in Sofitel Wanda Beijing which was a much better hotel than Sofitel Central. Sofitel Central hotel is more like a Pullman 4* (considering the rooms) rather then the usual Sofitel 5* experience and more like a Novotel/Mercure 3/4* when you assess the breakfast As a 5 star hotel some of the features are not suitable for a Sofitel. I will choose 2 important ones. Any Accor 4* hotel and above (Pullman, Sofitel , Fairmont) have proper coffee machine in the Exec Lounge/CLub level rooms. That hotel hotel has a boiler to boil water and coffee pouch. But the most important aspect is the breakfast. The breakfast reminds me of Novotel Peace Beijing. For example lack of fruit choice (3 fruits), lack of choice of milk (only full fat), yoghurt coming out of a machine (like Novotel Peace) There are no healthy options for breakfast expect All Bran I checked in at 2am one night and decided to check out after seeing the breakfast. No afternoon tea snacks so not worth paying the Exec lounge room prices. If you want Exec Room level experience go to Fairmont Beijing. Amazing Rooms, amazing service, professional and attention to detail. Both Journey and Renee at the Reception were excellent! Journey helped me throughout my stay and made my experience very pleasant. I will always choose Fairmont over Sofitel in Beijing in the future!
I had a fantastic stay at Sofitel Beijing Central. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city and close to many attractions. The room was spacious, elegantly designed, and spotlessly clean. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the city view from the window was stunning. What truly stood out was the exceptional service — every staff member was warm, professional, and attentive. Breakfast offered a great mix of Chinese and Western dishes. The hotel also has a wonderful luxury feel without being stuffy. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beijing. Definitely a 5-star experience! --- 需要我帮你把字数调整得更精确,或者改成更短/更长的版本,也可以告诉我。
This was honestly one of the worst stays I’ve ever had with the Accor group. If this had been an ibis or Mercure, my expectations would have been different — but for a Sofitel, the experience was far below what a 5-star hotel should deliver. The service standard was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Reception staff, club lounge staff, and restaurant staff all seemed unwilling to communicate in English at all. At the club lounge, staff were constantly on their phones and making loud noises while guests were sitting there trying to relax. The “welcome fruit” was two oranges and one guava. At that point, it honestly would have been better not to provide anything at all. Breakfast was poorly managed, especially the seating situation — guests basically had to search for their own tables. Overall service throughout breakfast felt completely inconsistent with a luxury 5-star property. The room itself was spacious and well-equipped, but it was surprising to see Sofitel providing only instant coffee sachets with a kettle instead of a proper coffee machine. The bed’s leather headboard was also peeling badly, which made the room feel worn and poorly maintained. Overall, this three-night stay was a very disappointing experience for my first trip to China. If hotel management reads this review, I sincerely hope major improvements are made — or perhaps the property should be rebranded entirely, because this is absolutely not the standard of a true 5-star hotel.
