I recently stayed at Pullman Taiyuan for five nights. Overall, the experience was acceptable, but it did not feel as good as my previous stays at this hotel.
I understand that the hotel frequently hosts business meetings, and during my stay there were two large-scale conferences. The first one did not affect my stay much and was handled reasonably well. However, the second conference significantly impacted my experience.
On my last day, the hotel informed me that due to the conference, I would need to either check out earlier than planned or change rooms if I required a late checkout. While I did end up leaving earlier, the way this situation was handled left me feeling uncomfortable.
As an ALL Gold member, I expected a bit more consideration or flexibility. Unfortunately, it felt as though individual guests like myself were less important compared to large corporate groups, which was disappointing.
The hotel itself is still good, but this stay did not meet the standard I had experienced before. I hope future stays can offer a more balanced approach between conference guests and loyal individual members.
Everything else was pretty standard and mostly maybe ok, said maybe because I hardly found time to enjoy myself in the room during my stay as the hotels AC does not allow me to adjust the room temperature.
And that was the case for ALL the rooms in the hotel.
This is absolutely ridiculous and unreasonable as my room temperature skyrocketed to 30 degrees+ and the only thing the hotel can do is to advise me to turn the AC off and open the windows. It was below 10 degrees outside, sleeping under this condition caused me two sleepless nights and a bad flu as I was busy between opening and closing the windows every two hours so that the temperature can be maintained at a reasonable level for us to sleep.
It was definitely not what I would expect and ofc I won’t recommend anyone to stay at Pullman Taiyuan. They are better at saying sorry than solving problems.
So far one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in China. Everything is extremely clean, there’s no smoking allowed in the establishment, staff is very friendly and helpful.
Rooms are very spacious and well organized. Great location to the downtown area and the gym is perfect with a side of acrobat hot yoga and spa. Can’t complain!

It’s an amazing hotel located in the downtown area of Taiyuan China. There is a big shopping mall within walking distance, with Starbucks, BurgerKing and etc. The vinegar is a specialty of the city, and you can take some to your friends.
Even if this hotel is a part of a big chain, the service is not up to international standards at all. The building is modern and elegant, with beautiful rooms but unfortunately not very clean (especially the bed and the bathroom). Staff is not really friendly.
