We have chosen this property for a couple times, but this time we are truly disappointed by their management team. Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Management and Hostile Customer Service I booked a stay here for my family, expecting the standard level of hospitality that comes with being a Hyatt Globalist. Unfortunately, our vacation was derailed by the Hyatt Regency Tianjin East staff's complete mishandling of a missing property incident. The Incident & The Waiting Game After using the hotel pool, my father-in-law realized his swim trunks had gone missing. We immediately reported it, simply asking for the original item back or a basic replacement so our vacation plans wouldn't be disrupted. Instead of helping, the hotel staff assured us they had reviewed the security footage, contacted all relevant guests, and definitively concluded that no one had taken them. Based on this, they asked us to wait for updates. We spent from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM waiting in the hotel, losing an entire day of our planned vacation activities. Shockingly Unprofessional Behavior Not only did management fail to offer any practical solution, replacement, or compensation for the ruined day, but their attitude was also appalling. When we continued to seek assistance, the staff actually threatened to call the police on us. We ended up speaking with the police regardless, who rightly advised that the hotel's lack of help was a consumer dispute. The hotel took zero ownership and essentially told us to figure it out ourselves. The Truth Comes Out The most frustrating part happened at 10:00 PM. While we were already on our way home, the hotel suddenly called to say another guest had mistakenly taken the trunks and was returning them. This completely contradicted their repeated assurances from earlier in the day and proved their initial "investigation" was entirely botched. The Bottom Line The core issue here isn't the value of a pair of swim trunks; it’s the hotel's unacceptable handling of a basic guest issue: Incompetent investigation: They confidently gave us false information about the security footage. Zero accountability: They offered no interim solutions, replacements, or apologies for the delay. Hostile staff: Threatening guests with the police for simply asking for help resolving an on-site theft/loss. Ruined vacation: We lost a full day of our trip waiting around for absolutely nothing.

Good quality hotel close to the centre of Tianjin, on the route from city centre to the airport. It's close to line 2 of the metro and just 3 stops from the main train station and 4 stops from the Italian quarter. Rooms are in good condition and well equipped. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only negatives are the a/c isn't very strong, and the windows don't open so there is a lack of fresh air, particularly if someone in a nearby room disregards the "no smoking" notices.
I had a splendid time here. Hotel staffs are nice, although still hard to communicate in english, they were willing to help using translate app. Thank you. There’s a cute big hotel barista guy with glasses that always smile whenever we get to the Market Cafe or hotel lounge. I felt like it’s awkward to smile to anyone here as they rarely smiled back.. but he did, so nice and thank you.
Everything is perfect in this hotel. We had good experience with service and hotel accommodation. Breakfast is great and there is good for every taste. Rooms are clean and lobby is great with very nice bar.
Beware - very misleading advertisement on leading hotel sites. The rooms in the hotel are NOT suitable for 2 adults and 2 children. (Or 3 adults and 1 child as it suggests). We arrived and were told all the rooms have 1 long bed or 2 single beds. Booked for 4 and got told we need to get an additional room then. No porter to assist with luggage, staff at the hotel front just stand and watch. Avoid.
