An Excellent Short Stay with Outstanding Service My short stay at the Pullman Changbaishan Resort was truly wonderful. The hotel's location at the foot of Changbai Mountain is perfect, offering great convenience for visiting nearby attractions like the West Slope Scenic Area. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable with a balcony overlooking beautiful mountain views. The breakfast buffet was also diverse and delicious. What stood out the most was the exceptional service from the hotel staff, especially the assistance from Anna. From before check-in throughout my stay, Anna was attentive, friendly, and highly professional in helping to arrange my travel needs and itineraries. Her thoughtful support made my entire trip smooth and hassle-free. I highly recommend the Pullman Changbaishan Resort for a family getaway or a peaceful retreat. Not only does it offer stunning natural scenery, but the sincere service from team members like Anna truly makes a difference and adds a special touch to the holiday experience.

Hotel is located alone, outside the city central, away from all the ski resorts. The only place it is kind of close to is West slope of Tianchi (Which isn't as scenic as North slope). During our 2 days 1 night stay, we hardly saw any other guests in the hotel. Is likely due to not much guests, only 1 restaurant is opened and the members lounge is closed. During check-in, am surprised that hotel staffs don't even know that I am an A+ Platinum despite me booking the hotel at ALL Accor app using my membership number. Took a while before we receive any in-room welcome gift, in absence of lounge access. Even have to request for welcome drink voucher before automatically receiving any despite them knowing that I am a A+ Platinum member.
This hotel is NOT 5-star rating 👎. There was no bellboy, smokers were present in the lobby, and check-in took a long time due to severe understaffing. Only one concierge staff member was handling check-ins. Hotel felt like a dead town cos we didn't really see other guests around too. The room itself was uncomfortable — the air-conditioning did not work properly even after adjustments, making the room hot. The wooden floors were dirty and stained with water marks, and overall the atmosphere felt poorly maintained. Showers were flooded, and staff said that’s the way the hotel was designed 🤨. Breakfast was also disappointing and nowhere near 5-star standards: no fresh juices, only artificial juice concentrate… bad quality for the price paid. Overall, the experience did not justify the cost, especially when compared to other true 5-star hotels. We moved out immediately after one night and checked into Park Hyatt instead, which was significantly better. Although it was more expensive, it offered far better value — being located within the ski resort/mountain with ski passes & renting equipment included, whereas at Pullman you’ll have to find transport to get to the ski resort and pay extra for both ski rental and ski passes. Despite the cheaper price, this hotel is NOT worth it and will likely leave you DISAPPOINTED 😪. When we tried to seek a refund, Expedia was unable to assist, while other platforms such as Trip.com and Agoda (used by other family members) were far more efficient and responsive. I DO NOT recommend booking this hotel or Expedia.
Excellent service from everyone at the hotel. The staff are helpful and they can recommend and organise trips for you at surprisingly reasonable price. Rooms are very clean and comfortable too! Location is great as it is near both the airport and also the town where you can get plenty of delicious local food. Overall great experience staying here!
For our trip to see Tianchi, we stayed at the Pullman, which is on the West Slope. The hotel was beautiful, service was good, but it was so poorly heated that walking around the hotel required wearing a heavy winter jacket. The Yuehua restaurant and the driver arranged by the concierge were both pretty good. The spa was a bit sketch. It was also annoying that their payment terminal kept failing transactions. I was able to pay for the rooms with my Amex, but ended up having to pay cash for everything else. The location was 30 minutes from the Songjianghe train station and two hours from the more scenic North Slope in Erdao Baihe, which was a mistake on the part of our planning. Getting to Songjianghe requires another hour and forty train ride from the Changbaishang high speed train station, which is much closer to Erdao Baihe. In hindsight, we should have booked a hotel in Erdao Baihe and saved ourselves hours of train and car rides.
