The rooms are spacious and comfortable. But the service and hotel amenities are below par. Wifi is very poor, front desk and staff are not very friendly. Location is not really close to anything.
My experience was extremely disappointing. I strongly advise others to avoid this hotel. While staying at the hotel, the housekeeper removed a bag containing my valuables from my room one day before I checked out. I only realized the item was missing two days after departure, but it was clear I had left it in the room. When I contacted the hotel, they checked the room and claimed nothing was found. Instead of helping, they blamed me for not taking proper care of my belongings. They insisted their housekeeper had not touched my items and that their staff would never take anything, as it was “against their regulations.” The hotel then refused to provide any further assistance. I had no choice but to file a police report. CCTV footage obtained by the police clearly showed the housekeeper taking the bag with my belongings out of my room the day before checkout. Unfortunately, the video quality made it difficult to confirm the exact contents. Since the hotel continued to deny responsibility and refused any compensation, I escalated the case to Expedia. The hotel told Expedia they would not offer any compensation for the loss or their handling of the situation…Avoid this hotel. Don’t let your guard down if you live in the hotel.
Just wrapped up a stay at the Pudi Beijing Hotel. Honestly, if you’re booking this because Expedia labels it a "5-star luxury" spot, you might want to manage your expectations. It’s a 3.5 to 4-star hotel at the absolute max. To be fair, the price we paid was completely in line with a 3 or 4-star property, but the 5-star rating itself is just plain misleading. Here is the honest breakdown: The Good: The location is super convenient if you need to be close to the Beijing Railway Station. The beds were actually really comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was great. The breakfast buffet is also pretty solid with a lot of variety, though fair warning if you visit on a weekend: some of the guests made it feel pretty chaotic, acting like they were starved and cutting in line. The Not-So-Good: The overall cleanliness and maintenance just aren't there for a luxury rating. Our room had a ton of wear and tear—scuffed up furniture edges, discolored/worn spots on the carpet, and there were literally old drink rings left on the bathroom counters. Also, the lobby and elevators have a really strong, lingering smell from the seafood restaurant on the first floor. Oh, and the bathroom has those ridiculous interior windows with blinds that open right into the bedroom. Maybe that was a cool design choice 25 years ago, but now it just feels tacky. The Verdict: If you go into it expecting a decent 3.5-star experience at a fair price near the station, you'll be perfectly happy with the comfortable beds. Just don't let the "luxury" label fool you into thinking you're getting a pristine, high-end resort.
It's not bad at all, the rooms are clean and big and they have good service. However, it doesn't feel like a 5 star hotel, as they don't have all those little things that add up to a great experience. There wasn't even someone to open the door and help with luggage. It doesn't even have a proper lobby, it's a multipurpose building with a small front desk. I actually feel it's a bit overpriced, there's way better hotels for the same price range.
