From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed at Beijing Hotel NUO. The hotel itself is beautiful, combining historic character with an elegant atmosphere, and its location made exploring Beijing incredibly convenient. What truly made my stay memorable, however, was the exceptional service from James. He was warm, professional, and attentive throughout my stay, always taking the time to help with a smile and making me feel like a valued guest. His genuine care and willingness to assist went well beyond what I expected and made a lasting impression. It’s rare to come across hospitality that feels so personal and sincere. James is a real credit to the hotel, and his commitment to guest experience reflects exceptionally well on the entire team. Thank you to James and everyone at Beijing Hotel NUO for making my visit such an enjoyable one. I look forward to returning the next time I’m in Beijing.

Had a great time here at the hotel. I didn’t know that Tian’anmen Square area is kinda a nightmare to get into since you need a reservation but the hotel was able to get me one easily. Very close to the Forbidden City, a metro entrance, and super close to a street with a ton of malls. I don’t recall the name but there was like 4 different ones and a fancier one had a Cheesecake Factory so that was surreal and just as good as in the United States. Anyways the room was nice and the staff were very helpful. Specifically I remember Ryan, who spoke great English and was hilarious so a great beginning to the stay. I don’t have a photo of the hotel but I do have a photo of the cool carpet they had in the hallway to my room. Would absolutely stay again!
Stayed in one of the ‘heritage’ rooms which was honestly quite disappointing when I first arrived. Could see the wear and tear on the room. It’s charm did grow on me over the course of my 5 nights. The hotel itself has an old school majestic feel and if you take a moment you can feel the history and charm of it. No direct room temperature control and felt quite warm during my stay but not unbearable. As other reviews mentioned, it is incorrect placed on the map. It is connected inside to ‘The Beijing hotel’, so you can walk through from one reception to the other. The staff were all super friendly and tried their best to support me when I engaged with them but English is generally not their strong suit - but I appreciated the effort (the Russian lady is amazing though). Benny was also friendly and funny. One of the cleaning ladies who looked after our room for first few nights was super friendly and amazing. Location - fantastic for palace museum / fobidden city and Wangfujing, which has a good collection of shopping malls and food offerings.
We were quite impressed with the hotel upon arrival, we did get an upgrade! but the excitement faded very quickly after the 3rd night and it feels like a relief that we are already counting down on our stay here. 1) no English speaking receptionists 2) attitude of the receptionist, tending to people who cut queues first and turned away in silence when a question is raised. Expect ignorance. 3) house keeping left trash in room on the 2nd day; we called to specify our requirements and on 3rd day, only to find more rubbish left in the room and less tidying done 4) upon arrival, the receptionist didn’t inform about lounge opening hours, resulting us missing the last serving and had to go out to look for food at 8pm hospitality in Beijing does have a reputation but the latest experience in Beijing Hotel Nuo is so uncalled for giving the history of the hotel hosting foreign guests. For the same price, you may get much better service from elsewhere.
As another review post mentions, the location of this hotel on Google Maps is wrong. This hotel is right next to 北京飯店, directly in front of a subway station exit on East Chang’an Ave. The location is super convenient relative to the subway system. We stayed in one of the 2 queen bed suite that is NOT the latest updated ones. While the space is still big it is definitely NOT 5 star hotel quality. We had the following issues during our stay: (1) There is no individual temperature control in the rooms. The initial suite we were given (7608) was way too warm (80F/25C) with no way to cool it down. The staff offered a fan but it was insufficient. It was extremely frustrating trying to tell the staff about the problem and they seem only able to offer a fan and no other solution. We ended up getting a room change to 7601 where is was much cooler. 7608 was definitely defective. (2) The shower, when starting, would occasionally run cold for like 3min before hot water kicked in (3) There was a cockroach that showed up in the room one night. I included a photo. Given the hotel is charging 5 star prices ($150 US per night before service charge and taxes). This was all very disappointing.
