An excellent way to explore a city that my wife and I know well with our 12 year old daughter. She loved solving the puzzles and I think she learned a lot. Also plenty of flexibility to stop and enjoy what you find on route.

My husband and I had visited Bath a few time before, so had seen many of the sites, and we didn’t just want to wander around the shops. We downloaded the instructions. Very easy to use, clear instructions. We learnt new things and had fun doing it. Would definitely recommend for families, groups and couples. We took our time and stopped for drinks and browsed shops when we wanted to. Looking forward to doing another at a different location.
This was a great way to have a walk around Bath, finding out interesting things about the city and enjoying solving the clues. Difficult enough to get you thinking but easy enough not to be put off by obscure and cryptic questions. Throughly enjoyable and different. It took us to some places we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. I would recommend it for anyone visiting Bath.
Great fun. Learned a lot about bath and the clues were well done. Takes you around the Bath highlights and plenty of places to stop and rest. Great for 7 years+.
Fantastic - just completed Bath hunt having done Oxford earlier in the year. Loved every second - taking our time, no rush, so many quirky facts and fun for the whole family. Highly recommend.
Great fun family activity, everyone participated and enjoyed it. The tour took in some lovely sights of Bath and gave us new interesting information along the way, even though we've visited before. Mainly flat and some gentle inclines around the city centre so no problem taking a baby in a pram. It took us a few hours so we did take a rest half way through at the crescent park. Would definitely do another city treasure hunt.
We really enjoyed the tour of Bath that the Treasure Hunt gave us and although we had visited many times there were places we hadn’t seen. We overthought the clues sometimes and it took us all day, but we stopped for drinks and lunch so that elongated it somewhat! It was really good and we definitely recommend it.
Great way to explore a city and good fun.
Bath was the fourth one we’ve done, having previously done Liverpool, Bristol and Chester. As always we had a great time exploring a city we know and love and learning so much more about its history. We’re already our next city!
Captain Bess treasure hunts are the best way to get to know a new place. Fun puzzles and lots of facts about the place as you go round. The Bath treasure hunt is the fourth one we've done and just as good as all the others.
I went with my daughter, who knows Bath a little better than I do. We had a great time. The weather was dry but windy. That helped. We enjoyed working out the answers to the clues but when we couldn't, the hints still left us with some work to do so we still had a sense of achievement when we got it right. We met lots of other tourists doing various treasure hunts. It was fun meeting them. The maps, that were given in sections, were really easy to follow, which added to the fun because we never really got lost. I found the walking was further than I had expected. I think it would be helpful if the distance covered was listed in the description so that people can judge whether they can manage it. I am nearly 72 and I began the day with a limp. By the end my feet were sore and I was very tired but I'm still glad I did it.

Fantastic treasure hunt around Bath. A great way of seeing Bath whilst having fun and taking it at your own pace. Really really enjoyed it especially as the sun was shining. Only thing I would say is you don’t need to play for all players because only 2 of our group actually used the tour information the rest followed footsteps. Would be nice to get something at the end if completed I.e a sweet treat or drink.
It was a great way to learn about the area that did not mean hanging out with a tour guide or bunch of tourists
This was a fun and informative walk around of Bath. We have a five and eight year old and they really enjoyed the theme and the clues. We enjoyed the additional facts that were released as each riddle was solved. Can recommend!
Six of us visited for the weekend , we didn’t do a lot of prep other than the obvious areas to visit . This was a brilliant way of seeing the city , we would have missed many parts had we not done this and it’s a fun way of doing it.
Great way to discover all the best bits of Bath with fab facts and some unusual things you wouldn't normally notice. 10/10
What an amazing day! On a cold November afternoon we met at Bath Abbey, a little nervous as to what I had signed us up for but what a day! Walking around Bath, solving clues and learning about the city we thought we knew plus discovering a couple of new pubs! The maths at the end reduced our perfect score but we had a fabulous time! Can’t wait to do the next one!
This was a super fun way to explore Bath and learn some interesting history. My partner and I only spent one night in Bath, and found this to be a great option for sightseeing and exploring within a quick timeframe.
We had a fantastic time! We wanted to do something different for out anniversary and this sounded fun. It did not dissapoint! The clues were challenging and fun and we got to see Bath in a different way then just walking around aimlessly. We had the best day 😁
We wanted something different to do for our anniversary and this didnt disappoint! Was a really fun way to explore Bath and really fun working out the clues which were challenging but so much fun 😁
We had a really great experience doing the treasure hunt as a team building exercise. lots of fun and very informative - we saw lots of bath. It wasn't super easy but not too hard so the perfect level. Made us think!
It was a fun way to explore Bath, lots of interesting things that we wouldn’t ordinarily know about. Took us around lots of key locations.
An informative and easy-flowing way to explore the city at your own pace, helping discover the area while learning about its rich history. After doing the tour, you will find yourself noticing fascinating details etched into the city around you as you continue to move through the spaces
Great experience, we've been to Bath many times for different things but have never seen some of the parts that the trail takes you. Loved it
We did this hunt as a way to see the city of Bath - it was great fun and good route to see all the important places. Good level of difficulty and useful hints. Would definitely recommend.
This was a very fun and informative game! We saw many historical and scenic spots and it felt not too long but not too short- just right. Likewise the clues felt just challenging enough for our 13 and 15 year olds (though they thought the pirate theme was "cringe" )
It was one of the best team buuldings we had as a team of 15. We loved the game and eveyone participated in it. You will be surprised by how you go in the playful mode and how the city of bath hiddes so much history and treasures
Me and my partner completed the treasure hunt over two days in Bath. It was a great and fun way of seeing all of the sites and was a good balance between challenging and interesting. I would recommend this to anybody coming to Bath and will look for this in other cities that we visit too. Thank you!
Booked as a little way of seeing Bath with my boyfriend for his surprise birthday weekend and we loved it! Had to finish off the second day due to having booked the spa but it lets you see all the main attractions and gives some fabulous little fun facts!
Easy to use and a great way of seeing the city in a different way! Lots of fun and can go at any pace you want. Definitely recommend for people first visiting or returning to the city that want to do something different and learn along the way ☺️ it took us about 2 hours to do with a drink stop in the middle.
My friend and I went on the Bath Treasure Hunt recently which I would totally recommend if you are looking for a way to enjoy a fun couple of hours in such a beautiful city as Bath. Ian and Paul run the Treasure Hunt there and they have put together a great game, full of fun cryptic clues designed to make you think a little and to make you see what's around you. The clues are 'gettable' but if you are ever stuck on a clue, they can always lend a hand. Added to the experience, they provide some history of each part of the city you discover, and we came away with the added bonus of having learnt really interesting and unusual facts about Bath in a very fun way. So, a bit of education, a lovely walk around the city, some solving of clues and a huge sense of satisfaction at completing each part of the hunt made for a really enjoyable and unique experience. We loved it!
A fabulous tour round Bath, including many areas we may not have found ourselves. Interesting history snippets, great pub recommendations and lots of laughs. I really recommend this mystery tour!
We took part in the Treasure Hunt Bath as a Siemens team-building event and what an incredible day it was! From start to finish, the experience was seamless, engaging, and full of fun surprises. 🔍 Immersive, Smart Clues Our pirate captain via WhatsApp led us through Bath’s streets with clever, cryptic clues that had us thinking, collaborating, and laughing together. The difficulty level was spot on challenging enough that we felt accomplished solving them, but not so hard that we got frustrated. 📱 Effortless Digital Experience All instructions were delivered via easy-to-use mobile links. No paper maps, no logistics headaches—just our own devices and instant updates. The hint system ensured we made progress without getting stuck . 🏛️ Discovering Bath & Hidden Gems We passed iconic landmarks Bath Abbey, Royal Crescent, charming back‑streets and learned fascinating historical anecdotes we’d never noticed before. The hunt highlighted Bath’s best sights and hidden stories equally ⏱️ Flexible Pace = Perfect Balance With a 1½–2½ hr suggested duration, each Siemens team found their rhythm. Pausing for coffee or a quick team selfie was effortless—no one felt rushed. 🏆 Engaging Competition & Live Scoring Friendly rivalry awakened as we spotted clues, glanced at the leaderboard, and cheered each other on. The real‑time ranking added a lively edge while keeping the emphasis on teamwork and fun . 🙌 Excellent Support Throughout The organizers were fantastic pre-event communication was clear, on-the-ground support was responsive, and everything ran like clockwork. No setup stress, no unexpected issues just pure enjoyment .
Having enjoyed Manchester’s treasure hunt we decided to do Bath with some friends. An enjoyable day out and found out lots about Bath that we didn’t know. A couple of tricky clues but managed to complete it with a few hints.
Good fun, well set up and easy to follow. Great information on the history of Bath and got to see a good portion of the city. Would recommend it.
We were given the treasure hunt by our family, as we have given them one in Oxford, which they enjoyed. The Bath Treasure hunt was a challenge we accepted, We travelled around the Historic town working out the clues and finding fun facts along the way, the interactive treasue hunt has a lot of fun facts which you discover along the hunt, there are plenty of watering holes along the way as in June it was quite hot. All in all a very enjoyable experience once you get you head around the cryptic clues. We are planning to do another one next year.
We were give the treasure hunt by our son and daughter, they had done the Oxford treasure hunt and found it fun and interesting. We started the Bath treasure hunt on a bright and sunny Sunday morning the clues are challenging and you have to be in the right mind set to work them out, so the first few are challenging and then it clicks and the rest become more easy, the fun facts are interesting as you go from clue to clue through the streets of Bath. All In all a fun day out.
Couldn't recommend this enough! I booked this for a work-do activity and we had such a fun time. It was great to explore Bath properly and notice all the little details and history of the city that we might have missed otherwise. We did this as Bath locals, but the treasure hunt could definitely be an exciting activity for tourists looking to explore the city and have a bit of fun. We also loved that it had local pub recommendations on route so we could cool off and catch up as we headed around! Thanks Ian & Paul for a fab time :)
Great way to see the city and find out interesting and unusual facts without being part of a massive group. Plus the added advantage of being able to pop into any shops or wine bars on the way! Perfect
Really fun group activity to increase your knowledge of Bath even if you’ve lived here all your life! Excellent please with a couple of fun Pub stops on the way if you fancy a call 1 on a hot day ! Instructions were easy to follow good for all ages. Will be doing another one in the future that’s for sure.
My husband and I tried this as something different to do and really loved it. The clues are just right. Not easy but not too hard. We had fun and learned a bit along the way. Really well done. Will definitely be trying out more cities ☺️
We had a lot of fun doing this treasure hunt experience! It was very well laid out, the hints were presise but not too easy, and we got to see the famous sites, described with fun and accurate information! Had one little hickup with one of the stops that is undergoing restauration and therefore wasn't solvable - annoying for those of us with high competitive instincts, but understand that this can happen in a world heritage place where maintenance is of essence.
Really well laid out, easy to follow and facilitates a great walking tour around Bath. 2.5hrs a good estimate and paces it well with a timely stop in the middle.
We went on the Treasure Hunt Bath with a team from work (20 of us split into teams of 5). We had the best day. The clues were interesting and challenging, plus we got to see the whole city at our leisure, and learned about its history. We stopped for lunch and took our time and the feedback from everyone was brilliant. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a team day out or just to learn more about the city. The support from Ian and the team was brilliant as well and it all went very smoothly.
A really fun couple of hours, a clever way to see the city and lots of unusual and quirky parts you’d never normally notice!
Very well organised and easy to navigate. Stress free as you can start anytime as long as there is daylight! Excellent way to explore the city in a fun way.
Great tour of Bath with lots of interesting information, my 8 year old son had a great day, loved exploring the maps and noticing things around the city we hadn’t noticed before thank you
Overall a really fun experience! Had us walking around the city, reading plaques and learning about the history in a fun way, even better when you have two super competitive people in a couple Even takes you past a few good places for a sandwich and few good pubs for a pint stop Highly recommend for a day out
This was such a fun thing to do. There were 18 of us split into 3 teams. Everything went smoothly including the tech. We’re locals and still learnt so much about our city. Really professional and friendly organisers - thank you Ian and team - really glad we chose your Company.
