Bowood Hotel & Spa

My partner booked us an afternoon tea here for our anniversary. From the minute we drove into the resort, I was blown away. It’s such a beautiful venue and you can tell it’s very popular, there were a lot of people staying at the hotel. We went to the restaurant for the afternoon tea and the service was exceptional as soon as we were greeted. The waiter, who led us to our table that had a lovely view of the golf course field, was very friendly and knowledgeable of the estate and I loved hearing about what is locally sourced - the tea choice was a great touch at the start. The jam is also made with the rose petals in the garden of the estate. The sandwiches were so fresh and delicious, my favourite was the coronation chicken. The scones were a perfect size and didn’t fill us up too much so we had room for our sweet treats!

Beautiful setting and well kept grounds. Plenty of parking. Beautiful sitting areas in lobby and bar. The rooms were clean, very comfortable and specious. Coffee & tea facilities, fridge etc. all useful. Spa was great (extra hours for children would be appreciated). Great holiday resort! Revisit (a month later) Another long weekend in this great setting. Breakfast was good (plenty of healthy options and hot breakfast options). The Bowood estate visit included in the hotel price is a great addition to the visit.

My wife and I have stayed at various hotels with a spa and golf in the UK and this one is a cut above. You pay a little bit more, but it is worth it and the chef/s do a lovely job with dinner and breakfast. One of the waitresses in the morning Betti (sp) was like sunrise in human form and all the wait staff were great. There was a young guy at dinner who was very knowledgable about the wine and made some nice food suggestions. I myself am not that picky about decor, rooms, etc as long as it is clean and good bed, but of the places we stayed this was my wife's favourite. A welcome letter from Matthew Voyle, addressed personally on quality stationary, is another nice touch. Well done to all.

I can’t say enough good things about Bowood Hotel in Wiltshire. I’ve been returning every July for the past four or five years to host a conference for teachers, and every year, it surpasses expectations. The Kerry Suite is a fantastic space for over 100 attendees, and the atmosphere is just incredible. The staff are truly impeccable… so warm, welcoming, and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious, and the entire experience is just top-tier. I have to give a special shout-out to Patrick and George; these two went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect. Without them, it just wouldn’t have been the same. Five stars, without a doubt! I’d give them more if I could!
