Abbey Hotel Bath, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel

We had a soperior print room booked through Secret Escapes and were looking forward to a lovely break at this hotel for our anniversary but what we got was not good. Firstly on a positive. the staff were all great, breakfast was nice and location was great. But the negatives outweigh the positives by far. We were given a room number 18which was downstairs past the kitchen in a dark musty smelling corridor. You access the stairs via the restaurant and down one flight of stairs, this is the only access direct from the entry. At the top of the stairs is the kitchen. On entry to our room it was dark, comfy bed and all the facilities that you would require but not great. 1 The window was dirty, only opened about 6 inches and the view was an overgrown yard with rubbish and pallets stored there. 2 The aircon didnt work properly and was noisy so the room got very warm as there was no means of cooling due to no breeze through the window 3 The extractor fan for the bathroom was extremely noisy so had to be turned off 4 There was no natural light in the bathroom and very little in the room as screens were on the dirty windows 5 The TV kept losing internet connection and resetting to the welcome screen which was infuriating as the volume shot up each time it happened. To top it off there was a function in the restaurant on our second evening so the only way to escape was up 2 further flights of stair and find the lift down to reception. I spoke to the gent on reception and he said all our issues would be noted and forwarded to the manager in the morning who see us before departure but no-one was there so the whole stay was not the best

I selected the Abbey Hotel as the venue for my wedding breakfast and reception. Everyone in the hotel provided exceptional customer service. Since there was a last minute cancellation we were upgraded to a suite we're we received a beautiful bouquet of roses, a bottle of Prosecco and a lovely card congratulating is on our marriage. Angeles assisted us since day one giving us a tour of the hotel and helping us book our wedding breakfast and reception. One day before the wedding, Meagan and Kamal took care of checking in all our guests into their rooms. On our wedding day Sally, Joji and Sue made sure our guests and us were taken care of during our wedding breakfast and reception and ensured everything went smoothly. We could not have been happier with our stay at the Abbey Hotel. Everyone made us feel so taken care of on our special day. If you are planning a special event I would highly recommend the Abbey Hotel.

I did not stay at the property, but I did have lunch there as a walk-in guest. I would like to particularly commend Maya, who only joined the property last Sunday. She is truly exceptional. Individuals like Maya are precisely why guests would choose to return, and I am confident that she will advance rapidly in her career. The service was truly outstanding.

Possibly my favorite hotel. The location is exceptional, mere blocks from the train station. The staff is always friendly and kind! The rooms are so comfortable and exactly what you need! Great home base hotel for exploring Bath as well as Bristol, The Cotswolds, Wales!
