The bus is very small and very uncomfortable for such a long trip! Only 2 hours in San Martin ! Its more like a sightseeing trip ! One technical stop and couple of stops at lakes in La ruta de los 7 lagos! Natalia was our guide and she is Amazing !!
This is a well organised tour of the Lakes with all the key stops. Unfortunately despite a notice the tour would be in Englih it turned out to be Spanish speaking only. Viator did refund a portion of the fee whilst the guide himself along with some support of fellow travellers made sure we understood pick up instructions etc. Despite this I would still recommend the tour but double check it is in your language.
San Martin de los Andes and 7 Lagos was an amazing tour. Expect to be in the bus at least two hours straight in a winding road after lunch, as you head back, but overall, it’s a great experience. The views were breathtaking. Highly recommend!. Celeste, the tour guide, was great too!
Great scenery. Comfortable bus. Friendly and knowledgeable guide. Weather was perfect. Check conditions before you go. Clear skies are a must.
Very beautiful scenary. We enjoved the tour and stops in lovely Argentina. We would recommend it to everyone.
paid extra for an english-language guide, but the speakers of the bus did not function so unable to hear them for 3 of the 10 hour trip.
Excellent area of interest. The guide Cinthia was the best and very knowledgeable. Cinthia is someone who sets an excellent example for everyone. very personal and takes interest in each passenger
Our tour guide Cintia was excellent, the bus very comfortable but the drive of 400 km maybe a little too long for me in one day.
This is a great relaxing all day trip to see seven lakes and beautiful sceneries across Lanin and Nahuel Huapi national park. San Martin de los Andes is a beautiful town like towns in Europe with great lunch options.
It was a lovely drive out along the route of the 7 lakes, stopping at several for photos. However the tour was supposed to be around 9 hours, it was actually more than 11, we certainly didn’t need a 30 minute stop at Angostura on the way back. Also, the drop off was a bit chaotic, most people were dropped off in the town centre, then we drove way out into the suburbs to drop off a few other passengers..then finally the 3 remaining (English) passengers were returned back to downtown. This made an already long day needlessly longer and left us with a negative impression of the day.
We had a wonderful time seeing all of the Seven Lakes north of Bariloche. The scenery was stunning, and the city of San Martín de los Andes was quaint and beautiful—right on the water, with lots of sailboats and a charming atmosphere. Our tour guide, Cintia, was amazing: super knowledgeable, funny, engaging, and full of interesting stories. She truly made the trip special and memorable. Highly recommend!
The trip was exactly as described and we had a fantastic guide called Stella. He was full of useful information. It is a very long drive to get to SMA, which is just a little holiday village on the lake beach so is a little interest itself.
I booked the San Martin de los Andes by Seven Lakes Road from Bariloche tour with Tangol, via Viator. We didn't have a good start as you pay extra if you want the tour with an English/Portuguese guide. Fine. I did this as I can barely understand Spanish. I was however, assigned to a group with a guide who could not speak English. It wasn't his fault. The tour operator messed up. They did sort it out quickly and I joined another group who had a bilingual guide. She was very good. Excellent and made sure I was included in everything as the only English speaker. The tour itself was fine. It was just a lot of driving in a very cramped small bus! It wasn't comfortable especially for such a long drive. The scenery was nice and I learnt a lot. The tour was exactly as advertised.

After reading all the reviews I decided to book the Spanish language option of the tour even though I don't understand Spanish at all, simply because I knew the guides here are not very conversant in english and even if I pay the extra bucks, they won't be able to fluently explain. And the main attraction of the tour is primarily visual delight, but historical. I was right! The guide even though tried hard, could barely explain the name of the stops or the location of the bathtoom, let alone explaining the geographical history of the location. But that was not a deterrent. One can always read the Wikipedia or other articles and even download them beforehand (mobile signal almost non existent throughout the route). In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed the tour because of the breathtaking views.
Enjoyable, very good guide. The scenery was lovely, good stiops. Pick up from hotel useful I would recommend it
That was an awesome experience and we had a perfect guide speaking both English and Spanish. He showed us the perfect spots to make pictures.
Comfortable bus, well-timed stops, friendly, informative, and helpful tour guide Diego, spectacular scenery and San Martin is charming.
Fairly good experience the bus AC was not effective. They left the small windows opened to the outside air to come in, with that lots of dust. Pretty irritating. Otherwise nice and scenic. They have only YES or NO choices for would I recommend. I would have say a May be recommendation but not with those buses
The tour was a fantastic way to see the panoramic sites on the way to San Martin de Los Andes. The landscapes with the gorgeous mountains and lakes are amazing. The tour guide from LS Travel Group Brc was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He made the ride fun.

A very well organised tour with a fantastic guide. Fabián gave us lot of information regarding the lakes, landscape and nature in the area. Beautiful views & great guide. Muchas gracias!
Beautiful scenery. Very good guide. Very interesting. A little too long the stop in San Martin de los Andes
The scenery was absolutely spectacular. The tour was a great small group experience. I was the only one in the group who did not speak Spanish so the guide, Matias, did a great job of translating for me so that I wouldn’t miss anything.
A good trip with a good guide. We got to see a lot of nature in a time-efficient way. Also the weather helped a lot.
The 7 Lakes area is stunning and nothing can take away from its beauty and we loved being there. The tour, however, was spoiled by us being assigned the back seats in a small bus that had very limited window viewing area. Also, the back of the bus was extremely uncomfortable. On the return journey, the rows in front of us were able to recline their seats, effectively eliminating our viewing area. The back row of this type of bus should not be sold or be sold at a reduced rate. It would seem that back-seat passengers on previous tours had made similar complaints to the guide. We were determined to enjoy the day and this delightful part of the world did deliver that. It’s a pity the tour company didn’t value all its customers equally.
The whole experience is nice and pleasant. Natalio As a guide is very good and can shift from English to Spanish and to Portuguese. Very good recommendation with regards to where to eat, etc.
Good things first - the tour itself was beautiful- the lakes, the mountains and the town of San Martin was incredible but that has nothing to do with the tour. When I booked the tour through an operator I clearly asked her if it has an English speaking guide and she said yes and charged me $100 extra for the two of us - the guide was all Spanish speaking and doesn’t interact with anyone and the driver too - so rest assured when I get home I will call them to ask for a refund! If you can’t get an English guide don’t charge extra then ! I should get a full refund if you ask me !
The guide Natalio. He was very informative and helpful. He spoke great English. Good stops for scenic views.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable. She also spoke perfect English. The tour may have been a little too long at 12 hours
Incredible tour north from Bariloche… to St. Matin de los Andes visitin 7 lakes in the hearth of the Andes. Takes all day but is an amazing experience!. Truly recommend. I was very lucky to have such a nice, fun and experience tour guide driver who made the experience even better. Don’t miss it if you visit here. Argentinian people are so nice and welcoming.
Beautiful landscape and enjoyed food at San Martin. The explanation along the way by the guide cum driver remained enlightening. A memorable experience indeed!!
Pick-up delayed, I ended up with a Spanish speaking group despite having booked the tour in English, guide didn't greet. The bus was cooled down to 3 degrees despite an outside temperature of almost 30. Despite repetitive pleas from all the people sitting at the back the air condition was kept on on full speed most of the time. After 8 hours in such low temperature, I went straigt to the hospital and was kept because of likelyness to develp pneumonia! The route of the 7 lakes is beathtakingly beautiful and can be recommented, but for us it was pure torture!
Great way to see the Seven Lakes. It was cold, snowing and windy! I recommend you wear some type of waterproof shoes/boots this time of year. Great driver and english speaking guide, worth the trip!
Overall nice tour. Great views, very good guide, but....please be advise that this not English tour, despite we have paid extra $50 USD per person for the "English option". This was 100% Spanish tour with few English words. I don't know when "Viator" started charging more for "English tours", but it's not worth it. Even if you don't know basic Spanish, don't pay extra for this tour, choose instead the "Spanish option" and tip the guide if he communicate with you in English. Most of them know basic English anyway.
We enjoyed our 11 hour day trip from Bariloche with an enthusiastic English guide Joanna to see the 7 lakes on the itinerary. Comfort breaks were appropriately included and the lunch break in San Martin is pleasant. The walk in to the town from the lake is worthwhile just to compare it with Bariloche. Lots of places to eat beyond what the guide suggests in the 2 hour time slot although we just found a seat to eat our packed lunch overlooking the lake as we weren’t aware their was an opportunity to seek out a lunch venue during our schedule. If you want to see more of the lakes in this area you won’t be disappointed with this trip. Our travel agent booked it for us through Turracion so not sure which company is the best to use but there appears to be several running on Tuesdays.
We paid far too much for this tour which is really a long bus ride . Best thing to do is hire a car and stop where and when you want . We got dropped off at St Martin which is a very nice place and had a nice lunch which isn’t included in the tour . Our guide Alejandro was doing his best and translated his commentary into English for us . However I can not recommend this tour
I booked this trip online for 120$ USD. On the morning of the trip, I go to the pick-up point in front of the travel agency in Bariloche, only to find that this trip costs only 41$ USD locally. This is because the online booking goes through a third-party travel agency in Buenos Aires (Tangol) who obviously ripped me off. I can understand that a third-party agency may charge some sort of fee (10-20 %), but he difference between 41 and 120$ USD is a 200% mark-up. Do yourself a favor and wait to be in Bariloche to buy this tour. Also, I will never again buy anything from Tangol. They are thieves!
A 360km (return) drive through a scenic route with multiple stops on the way to take photos. You also get to spend some time in two small mountain towns. Friendly and chatty guide and a driver with a great taste in music. English and Spanish spoken.
Viviana was our guide and she was fantastic. It is a long day on the bus going out and back to see the Seven Lakes via the same road. It is not a circular route. You do get several opportunities to take photos at viewpoints. Certainly, if you drive yourself there would be even better opportunities. However, I felt I saw all there was to see. It was great to sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The two stops in Villa de Angostura and San Martin were pleasant. Neither offers much interest except they are quaint in their own way. It was especially nice to sit at the beach on the lake in San Martin where we had a couple of hours to ourselves. It was busy and entertaining. Food carts were a great option to the sit down restaurants. Viviana shared her knowledge of places we passed as well as general history of Argentina. She is very friendly, sincere, engaging and inclusive. Her English is excellent.
This is just a coach/minibus trip stopping off at nice viewpoints of the 7 lakes, plus a couple of hours for lunch and a stroll in San Martin. So, you're not signing up for anything especially exciting or different. However, if you've come halfway across the world to visit this area (as we had), it's nice to take the opportunity to see a bit more of the surrounding area, as it is very beautiful scenery. Vivienne (guide) and Manuel (driver), were great people to spend the day with, being relaxed and humourous, but also offering a lot of information. The only thing we would have changed is the coffee stop at an isolated farmhouse, as this place was just a bit too rustic for us and we did not eat or drink anything, fearing that the place might not be sanitised enough. We would have preferred a coffee stop at a nice-looking town with decent restaurants which we had passed through about 10 mins before. But, overall, and in spite of poor weather, we enjoyed the day out and were glad we went.
This is a 450 km, 10 hour bus journey with 2 hours for lunch and 2 breaks for coffee of a half hour. Having spent quite a bit of time driving a rental car, we looked forward to this bus trip ($33) on day where we expected rain most of the day. Inspite of off and on rain, the scenery was beautiful when the sun came out. If it is a perfect day, I am sure it would have been nicer. The town of San Martin is pretty - nice restaurants (we liked Ulisses) - could have spent an overnight here but we didn't plan to.
Beautiful views and Patricia was an amazing guide. Highly recommend! Thank you for an unreal experience!

Ok, long drive and the car broke down. Guide was nice.

Unfortunately Patagonia weather is unpredictable so we weren't able to see all the beautiful scenery. However, the tour itself is well-planned in terms of stops for food as well as scenic. Also, Claudio our driver and Pato our guide were really great! They really listened and customized the tour to the people on it. It was a great time!

A great tour, wonderful guide who accommodated us though we were the only English speakers in the group. A relaxing and informative way to see this beautiful area.

A nice day trip with beautiful scenery but grossly overpriced for what is actually included. All the tour consists of is driving you around to the lakes to stop for 5 minutes for pictures and leaving you in San Martin for a few hours on your own. I sort of expected this from the description but thought the scenery would be so overwhelming as to justify the price - in my opinion it wasn't. If you are comfortable driving then hire a car or even consider hiring a taxi for the day. The description said 3hrs in San Martin and get back around 5pm. We only had 2hrs in San Martin and got back at 7pm. Also alot of the shops in San Martin are closed from about 1pm to 5pm anyway. While the lakes are beautiful to see the tour should have at least included lunch for the price. On a positive note, the guide spoke excellent English and was very good.

The trip through the 7 lake country with the snow capped Andes as a backdrop was spectacular. We had an awesome guide, and despite the fact my wife and I were the only English speaking people on the bus, our guide took the time to describe everything to us in English. A great trip at a reasonable price.

Well organized excursion and the stop over at San Martin is really very nice. I enjoyed it most.
