Very interesting and entertaining about a grim subject. Walking pace was quite fast, although the guide did stop to ensure all the party were together before he started talking.

Diego was an excellent guide and helped us understand the history of Bariloche and how it had evolved. Great history on the tour and being able to see many of the historical sites helped bring the stories to life.
We absolutely LOVED the tour!! It was fun interesting and we learned a lot of new things that we didn’t know. Our guide was outstanding.
One of the best walking tours we have taken anywhere in the world. The guide was really, really good at telling stories and laying out the information he was conveying in an very understandable manner. Not only was it interesting and enjoyable but I retained a ton more information than most tours I have done.
It was a very informative tour based on facts and theories surrounding 3 waves of German immigration to Bariloche. Diego was engaging and very passionate about what he shared with us.
Diego is really eloquent and explains the history really interesting. It takes 90' through Bariloche with stops at interesting spots.
Really really fantastic tour!! It was cold outside but we were so entertained and intrigued the entire time. We want to come back to take all of the other tours. Thank you so much!
I’ve visited 116 countries and 7 continents, and this was quite possibly the best tour I have ever taken. I actually visited Bariloche all the way from Dubai just to take this tour, and I couldn’t have been more satisfied. The guide was brilliant and hugely well-informed. He would make a phenomenal professor (I say this as a professor!) because his teaching style was charismatic, clear, and fast-paced while still keeping everyone “riding the bus” of understanding so to speak. Most importantly for this particular topic, he was careful & evidence-based about separating fact from fiction, conspiracy from reality. If you’re also a fan of Jewish history, WWII stuff, or simply love history & politics, go to Bariloche—hell, go to Argentina!—simply for this tour. You won’t regret it!
Walking tour with Frederick on a windy & brisk Thursday afternoon in late April. Wife and I were two of ten other English speakers learning about the three waves of immigrants entering Bariloche over the past couple centuries. Our guide wasn’t particularly enthusiastic or informative, and his organization of laminated pages was considerably haphazard. I don’t recommend spending time or money for this tour.
It was very informative and fascinating; however, there were a number of seniors on the tour and the leader went entirely too fast. The terrain was very hilly and uneven and the timing of the tour was too late. By end of tour it was very dark and with the pace and bumps and holes in terrain I’m surprised we didn’t fall. That being said Diego was an awesome tour guide. Very good at explaining things in detail and making the story come alive.
The worst activity we attended in our two months of visiting SA. Our group was large and purchase stopped on every busy traffic corner to speak to us. The traffic noise was overwhelming to his speaking, often drowning him out. Often climbing steep hills to arrive at our destinations, we were usually positioned in the hot sun, while our speaker had his back to the sun, forcing us to look directly into it. You would learn more doing a quick google search then what we got here on the German footprint in Bariloche.
Brilliant. Worth every penny. He knows all the stuff and is able to explain it clearly and with enthousiasm.
A very interesting tour about the three waves of German migration to Argentina’s Patagonia. Fascinating to see where they lived and the influence they had on the culture. Amazing that actual high ranking officers in the Third Reich actually lived in Bariloche.
Very polished walk and Diego was a great storyteller. We learnt a lot and really enjoyed our evening. Throughly recommended.
Tour was great, very informative, and Diego was an engaging storyteller. We also appreciated that he shared pictures of people and places as the tour progressed.
The guide was excellent. His English was excellent. Even with a tour with 20 people or more we had no problem hearing or understanding.
Diego was an excellent tour guide—knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about the history he was sharing. He answered every question in great depth and used visual materials that really helped bring the stories and historical context to life. I especially appreciated that he took the time to answer my specific questions about the Swiss community in Bariloche, which even motivated me to visit Colonia Suiza afterward. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the history of Bariloche, immigration to the region, or the complex history surrounding the Nazi presence in the area. It was thoughtful, informative, and engaging throughout.
Great cultural tour, nice small group. Very interesting, knowledgeable guide. I recommend this for a cool tour to learn about Argentine immigration history
This tour was exceptional! Our guide Diego is a historical expert, an articulate and captivating speaker, and a masterful storyteller. He brings history to life through verbal information, accompanying visual aids, and a tour to several significant spots. It is very clear that he has a true passion for both history and Bariloche! His English is excellent, which allows him to communicate to the audience clearly, effectively, and articulately. He is overall extremely organized, professional, and prepared. We found that understanding the German influence and Nazi ties to Bariloche added much richness, depth, and historical context to our experiences in the city. This is an absolute must-do here, highly recommend!!

Interest to learn about the history of immigration and details on the waives of immigration. Highly recommend.
A fascinating walking tour... one of the best walking tours we've ever done. Diego was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about German immigration and presence in Bariloche. He brought a binder of supporting photos to enhance his stories and our understanding of the topics.
Our English guide Diego was not only very knowledgeable in all of the topics discussed, but he was very personable. He made sure to include everyone, make eye contact with everyone, and even made sure everyone safely crossed intersections.
Beautiful and succinct tour - Diego is an amazing guide and clear in his delivery and to the point in his delivery of information.
Excellent history lesson! Provocative and respectful discussions with factual information while walking around notable homes / places in Bariloche.
Diego did a wonderful job walking us through Bariloche and explaining the German presence and the role of the Nazi’s. Very informative. Great job. Highly recommend.
Diego definitely knows his Nazi history and he tells it in such a way that you just want to listen to him. His English is excellent! I could have listened to him all night. 90 minutes went way too fast! Thank you Diego!
This was an exceptional 1.5 hour walking tour in the Bariloche town centre led by our guide Diego. He was very engaging with the group and clearly explained the history of the local region and Argentina in general. He also explained the strong Germanic influence dating back 100+ years and included a comprehensive coverage of the Nazis who settled in Argentina, and Bariloche in particular, post WW2. I travel extensively and I can’t recall a tour like this that I enjoyed more. Highly recommended.
Diego gave a great tour! We learned a lot about the Germans who emigrated to Bariloche. This is a walking tour that included about 10 blocks of walking. Definitely recommend this tour!
Great tour with a very knowledgeable guide. His English was perfect and he had great photos/slides showing pictures of what he was discussing. The tour takes you from the city center uphill to the old German neighborhood, but stops multiple times along the way to discuss historically significant sites. Highly recommend!
I honestly didn't know about this past history before I traveled to Bariloche, and I didn't know how to feel about taking this tour. All this to say that it was worth it. Our guide, Diego, was engaging as he led us through distinct, and nuanced, chapters of german immigration to this part of the world, and shone a spotlight on some unsavory Nazi war criminals reinventing themselves in a community, torn between accountability, and plausible deniability.
This walking tour was thoughtful, clear, and genuinely engaging. Diego was an excellent guide—measured, well-prepared, and skilled at explaining a complex chapter of history with context and care, while pointing out meaningful locations around Bariloche. He created space for understanding rather than shock, which made the experience both educational and respectful. The only opportunity for improvement would be adding more stops or expanded tours to further explore Bariloche’s WWII connections. Overall, a strong, worthwhile experience—made even better by Diego’s steady and insightful approach.
Diego, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and affable. I enjoyed the walking tour and would recommend it to all visiting Bariloche.
Very informative. I have a better understanding of the rich history of Bariloche. The guide was patient and thorough as he joyfully shared the city’s history with the group.
Diego was VERY knowledgeable and it was a joy to hear stories that he told. However, the group was way too big (40) for the tour that we were on, coupling that with street noise, it was sometimes difficult to hear everything that he said. A group of half of that size would have been more suitable and pleasant for all.
This is one of the best walking tours I have been on anywhere in the world. The guide is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the German community in San Carlos de Bariloche. The tour is very well organized, the guide speaks clearly and brings his subject to life. He presents an unbiased history of the topic and does not shy away from the controversy surrounding Germans who came to the town after the Second World War. This is a fascinating tale that he tells in a truly masterful fashion. If you are interested in history, this is a tour that should not be missed.
Diego was fantastic with his captivating narrative. This tour is a must if you are visiting Bariloche.
For those that like to u derstand history of a region this is a must do tour. We found it fascinating and learned more than we expected
Wow a piece of history in this beautiful place! Told with suspense, drama and much information. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Diego was extremely knowledgeable, eloquent, and passionate. He answered all questions thoughtfully, and the tour was engaging and informative. Highly recommended.
Tour was super, and our guide was great. Recommended to all who like to learn a little bit about the places they travel. Interesting stories paired with the sites at which they took place and a very nice walk around the town. The whole thing was well told and delivered.
Diego the guide was incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour interesting and fun. Whilst it’s a walking tour, it’s not too onerous.
This was a great tour. Very informative and interesting. Our guide was very knowledgeable in the history of Bariloche. Definitely recommend taking this tour.
I would recommend this tour. It was very nice and I really enjoyed learning about the local history. So ya, you should do it
Incredible experience with Diego, 100% recommended. The stories and insights brought by him made the walking tour one of the best activities in the town
A well organised event. Our guide gave a very clear systematic presentation with enough information to be interesting and memorable but without going into overload! Each of the walking stops along the way helped to colour in the history of the various German migrations and their impact on the city of Bariloche today. Questions were encouraged and were answered confidently from an obviously thorough knowledge base of the subject. Everything ran to time and the tour was just the right length.
The guide was very well organized and informative. He was able to answer questions and gave a balanced presentation. He spoke clearly and was easy to hear and understand.
Wonderful walking tour through Bariloche. Diego provided a very informative and interesting history of German immigrants to Argentina. Highly recommend this tour.
This was such a great tour! Diego was so well-spoken and a great story teller. We learned a ton. I’d recommend doing this at the beginning of your time in Bariloche because not only did we get a great history lesson, but a good tour of the city.
This tour is definitely a must! Diego is extremely knowledgeable and a great story teller. We learned a lot. Thank you Diego!
