The hotel's surroundings are lovely, and the location is excellent. The staff is very friendly. However, the rooms are in need of maintenance—especially the bathtub, which feels like it might break when you stand in it.

Be highly aware before booking this hotel! Flight cancellations and sudden schedule changes are incredibly common in Argentina, and this establishment completely weaponizes that reality to profit from stranded tourists. Due to a sudden, unilateral flight cancellation by the airline 3 days before our trip, it became physically impossible for us to reach Bariloche. I contacted the hotel in good faith a day before check-in, providing official screenshots and proof of the canceled flights. Their response? Absolute greed. They hid behind their 'non-refundable policy' and pocketed 100% of my money for a service I never even got to use. They are fully aware of the volatile flight situation in the region and run a predatory business model that exploits frustrated travelers rather than offering a simple credit voucher or rescheduling option. If you do not want to risk losing your money due to unpredictable airline issues out of your control, do not book here. They care about your wallet, not your experience
cards for me never worked but everything else is great wish breakfast was included but reception is so nice and camila was very helpful
We had a lovely visit with Villa Sofia for our first time in Argentina and Bariloche. The staff was very friendly (despite our language barrier) and helpful. We enjoyed the view we had from our apartment of the mountains, and generally found the apartment to be perfectly nice. Our only complaint would be the beds -- they are a bit outdated and could use updating. We were not bothered by the noise and it was not overly loud, though definitely not quiet (you are staying in a city and there are other guests at the hotel). Other reviews mention the walk. While we were concerned about that at first, we actually found it to be a nice way to begin and end the day. It is a hilly city, and it was nice to be "away" from the immediate downtown and in a more semi residential spot. If you are looking for a nice place to crash, Villa Sofia has good accommodations for visitors.
I just stayed here for a week (first time in Bariloche) and I absolutely loved Villa Sofia. The staff were all super friendly. The laundry service was amazing. They washed all my clothes and folded them for me. :) Breakfast was great. Eggs, media lunas (similar to croissants), cereals, fruits, cheeses, pretty much everything you could ask for. The room and area were well kept. Location was nice too. It's about a 15min walk to the city center / water. Expect to walk a lot in Bariloche. :) There is MODA bar about a 5min walk were we watched some world cup matches. Pharmacy and grocery store nearby. Overall very happy with this stay and will stay again. Muchas gracias!
