We had an amazing tour with Elvira! She was awesome and extremely knowledgeable! Make sure to request her. She picked us up infront of the hotel and dropped us off at the end of the day. She took us to a local restaurant between the caves and monestary. These places are special and a must place to visit when traveling to Barcelona. Overall great time!

What can I say, we had an awesome time with Elvira! If you can request her, you will be amazed! Super friendly and knowledgeable about all aspects of Barcelona and Catalunya. She made everything so easy from picking us at the hotel to getting us to the caves and lastly to Monserate. I forgot to mention we also had a lunch between the caves and monestary at La Santa Cova which is a local restaurant. We couldn't ask for a better guide. Overall an excellent day!

Elvira was a wonderful guide. Her wealth of knowledge of Catalan and its people along with Monserrat and the food of the region made our experience unforgettable. She also took us to a winery that was a hidden treasure. The reserved red they had was truly a find. Also, if you have her as a guide, be sure to ask her for her recommendations for restaurants and bakeries. Every one we went to were delicious and unique.

Our first time to Europe. Elvira was our tour guide to Monserrat and after to a family owned winery and brunch. She was fantastic. She is from Barcelona so she was very knowledgeable of all the things to do and see here. She was able to set up a blessing for our family by Father George at Monserrat which was so special. We are so thankful to her and all of Barcelona for a memorable trip. I highly recommend choosing Elvira to be your guide.

We initially booked an architectural walking tour with Elvira through the streets of Barcelona the day after we arrived. We appreciated her vast knowledge about the city and its history, but her pride in her heritage was one of the many things we admired. We immediately scheduled a second tour with her. She arranged transportation to Monserrat, showed us the best views, and bought tickets to the museum and boys choir. On the way back we stopped at a family owned winery where we were treated to a tour and wine tasting. It was our favorite day of the trip and we owe this to Elvira’s great care and company. We hope to be back and will reach out to her again next time!

We were a group of four traveling with different energy levels, so we were nervous about finding something that would work for everyone. Fred made it effortless. We booked the 6-hour option and chose the monastery visit plus the boutique winery, and she took us along scenic back roads between stops that the buses never see. The winery was an absolute highlight — intimate, unpretentious, and the wine was exceptional. Fred knew when to give us space and when to share a story, and he clearly loves what she does. Everything was relaxed but perfectly timed. We left feeling like we'd actually experienced Catalonia, not just passed through it. Can't recommend this highly enough

We've done Montserrat before on a group bus tour and felt like we barely scratched the surface. This time was completely personal. After booking, Elvira asked what we were most curious about and shaped the day around us. We chose the monastery with the art museum (which almost nobody visits — felt like we had it to ourselves), a hike to the Sant Miquel viewpoint, and a stop at the family winery. The winery alone was worth the whole trip: fifth-generation owners, incredible Catalan wines, and a warmth you simply can't manufacture. Elvira's knowledge of both the history and the landscape is outstanding, and she's genuinely fun to spend a day with.

She was my tour guide to Monserrat for my group of 10 person , she speak fluent English , she is punctual , helpful knowledgeable, all of us like her very much . We save a lot of time going to Monserrat with her taking public transport like metro , tram . She explained the history in the museum very well . We even did an hour hiking to St Michael’s cross at Monserrat , she is fit and fabulous . She’s the best guide for our group at Spain honestly

Elvira was fantastic . We spent the day at Montserrat and a local winery. Both attractions were perfect . She knew the perfect time of day to miss the tourist traffic at Montserrat and we learned so much from her including the amazing museum . The vineyard Finca Ca n’Estella was a real treat . I would highly recommend ! Her English was fantastic , she was knowledgable and let us pace the day. Pus she was fun to hang out with !

We wanted a simple day focused only on the monastery. Elvira with Go Local Barcelona provided just that and more! Instead of the embedded costs and hassle of a car, we wanted an easy and relaxing way to experience Montserrat. We meet her at Plaça d’ Espanya and took a 60-minute train to Montserrat, followed by a 5-minute cable car up to the monastery, taking in every feet of the mountain’s amazing elevation From there, we hiked 30 minutes up to the cross, followed by a one hour tour of the monastery and museum. We embarked on the same journey down catching the next departing train within 15 minutes. Elvira manages the day and time perfectly. We would have never been able to see it all as simply and stress-free on our own. All in, the trip was 6 hours, start to finish. We didn’t have to do anything, but show up. If you’re looking for an option that’s a complete experience with no effort, this tour is for you!

An amazing day in Monserrat with Elvira! She took care of every detail. Tix for the train (more fun, better views and cheaper than a car). Tix for the cable car (first in line). Beautiful hike and then the monastery tour with expert commentary the entire time from start to finish. Elvira’s knows her history, she knows how to make it fun for the family, she knows how to make the travel to and from simple. We loved our day with her and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What an unforgettable experience! The views from Montserrat were absolutely breathtaking — the mountains, the monastery, and the trails were all picture-perfect. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole trip even more engaging with fun stories and history. Our kids (ages 8 and 11) had a blast exploring and learning. Highly recommended for families who love nature and a bit of adventure!

Our trip today to two wineries in Catalonia. Elvira did an excellent job talking with us to understand what our interests were and organizing the trip. We didn’t have to do a thing but show up! Fred picked us up on time and drove us to a cute little village and as we walked around her gave us the history of the area before taking us to the wineries. The wineries were a perfect balance of small family run and a little more commercial with each possessing their own charm and great wines. It was a great day to end our time in Barcelona!

This was part of a company fun trip. We had an amazing time with Elvira. She shared with passion Montserrat history and we got to do 2 hikes, one of them off -the-beaten track.She arranged a mini bus for the 13 of us and organized everything with professionalism & detail. We highly recommend her guidance & experiences.

We just finished a very frustrating trip organized by Elvira( Go Barcelona). There was no car/ driver to take us around. We had to end up getting into Elvira’s small rental manual/ stick shift car. She got lost three times ,and for an hour, while driving us back to our car in Colbatto. I had asked her to make reservations 4 adults because my two teenage boys have adult appetites. When we arrived to the winery, they stated she had only made reservations for two people. While we were tasting wine and the tapas, she barges into the room and with dirty, ungloved hands proceeds to pick up a piece of toast, places tomatoes on it and then, with ungloved hands,picks up ham and “ makes a sandwich “ for our boys. We were grossed out and perplexed by this behavior. We had to ask her to leave our wine tasting/ tapas session. She also counted the hour we drove our personal car to Colbatto as part of the “ 8 hour trip.” When we asked at the end of the trip if we could walk around Montaerrat for an hour, she stated no. We basically drove up the mountain to go inside a small church and mediocre museum and then had to leave. Overall, the trip is very pricey for the low budget experience. Thank God it is over.

Our trip was absolutely amazing from start to finish. It was so wonderful about it is that Elvira was completely flexible and tailored it just for our family. It was a completely different experience than the massive tours that you may see roaming around big cities of Europe. We did things that were major tourist, destinations, as well as due deep touches such as. Cave exploration and a beautiful lunch at a local restaurant. I highly recommend working with Elvira and her team.

Elvira was amazing to work with in setting up this tour, and Pau could not have been a better guide. He was knowledgeable, flexible, and thorough in our tour. He worked with our time frame, with what we wanted to see, and was a fountain of knowledge both in the drive to Montserrat and while we were at the monastery. I would not just recommend him, but would also do another tour with him to learn about things we missed the first time around due to time constraints that we had. I cannot recommend this tour enough and will happily give more information to anyone who wants it while they are considering or awaiting this tour.

This was an amazing tour! Elvira took us to a regional winery where we met one of the owners. We saw the winemaking process, toured the winery and tasted the wines. Meeting the owner was an unforgettable treat! She's the 5th generation of this family business. The wines were fantastic. Highly recommend the Tempranillo and the Granache. From the winery we went to Monterserrat Monestary in time to hear the boys choir. This experience was so special for my mother-in-law. We toured the monastery and museum and took photos of the amazing views. This tour was a highlight of our trip and we highly recommend it!

My family of four (college-age kids and my husband and I) had the most wonderful experience with Elvira touring Montserrat and visiting a local winery. Elvira was very communicative prior to the tour and was prompt with our hotel pickup in a comfortable car for our drive. She shared lots of information about local culture on our drive to Montserrat and was very knowledgeable about the area as a native of Barcelona. As she toured us through Montserrat, she was easy to understand and very pleasant. We enjoyed visiting Montserrat but it was also a highlight of the tour to do the tasting at a small local winery. The owner of the winery was lovely and we enjoyed her explanation of the wine making process and information on the family history of her winery as we toured the grounds. The wine tastings and meat and cheese snacks were a perfect way to end the afternoon before our comfortable drive back to our hotel. I cannot say enough good things about Elvira and wish that we had more time in Barcelona to do another tour with her. I highly recommend!
