Itinerary
Start the tour in the heart of the city in Plaza Catalunya and enjoy a walking tour through the oldest part of the city, the charming Gothic Quarter, a maze of quaint, narrow streets full of Roman and medieval architecture. You will visit the Cathedral, Jewish Quarter, St. James Square and part of the Roman wall. The walking tour ends with a visit to Santa Maria del Mar church in the Born district and while enjoying a rest and you will be treated to coffee break at a local café.
Detailed explanation the exterior and facade.
After crossing the Jewish Quarter, we stop at Saint James Square where the City Hall of Barcelona is located and the Palau de la Generalitat.
The last portion of the walking tour, we visit the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar - exterior explanation. Then, we will have a cofee break when you'll enjoy a warm or cold complimentary beverage.
After the walking tour you will head over, in a comfortable transport, to Montjuic, site of the 1929 International Exposition and the 1992 Olympic Games, and you will see one of the best viewpoints to see the city.
As we make our way toward Montjuïc, we’ll have the chance to admire a truly amazing sight from the vehicle: The Face of Barcelona. Rising dramatically in the distance at the port, this enormous sculpture captures immediate attention. Formed from a cascade of letters and symbols that seem to float in the air, each letter is uniquely placed, merging to create the silhouette of a colossal human face, giving the impression that the city itself is gazing toward the future.
Once we pass The Face of Barcelona, we’ll approach another of the city’s iconic landmarks: The Columbus Monument. From the vehicle, we’ll see its towering 60-meter column rising majestically above the port area. At its peak, the statue of Christopher Columbus stands tall, pointing toward the sea, as if inviting travelers to explore new horizons and reminding us of Barcelona’s historical significance as a starting point for great voyages of discovery.
Once we pass the Columbus Monument, we’ll head up Montjuïc toward one of the most stunning viewpoints in Barcelona: The Miramar Viewpoint. As we ascend, we’ll stop to fully appreciate the breathtaking beauty of the city. From this vantage point, we’ll have the perfect opportunity to capture stunning photographs of Barcelona’s skyline, the all set against the backdrop of the surrounding hills.
After visiting Miramar Viewpoint, we’ll continue our journey up Montjuïc, where we’ll catch sight of another of Barcelona’s cultural gems: The Miró Foundation. From the vehicle, we’ll be able to appreciate the striking architecture of this renowned art museum, perched on the hillside overlooking the city.
Once we pass the Miró Foundation, we’ll continue our journey up Montjuïc and soon come across the Olympic Stadium. From the vehicle, we’ll be able to appreciate the grandeur of this historic stadium, which hosted the 1992 Summer Olympics. The iconic structure, with its impressive façade and surrounding area, stands as a testament to Barcelona’s Olympic legacy. On certain days, the stadium is open to the public, and if we’re lucky, we may even get a glimpse of the interior. Visitors can explore the stadium and its surroundings, but perhaps most intriguing of all is the Olympic Museum, located nearby. This museum offers fascinating exhibits on the history of the Olympic Games, showcasing the spirit of competition and the athletic achievements that defined the 1992 Barcelona Games.
Once we pass the Olympic Stadium, our journey will take us to the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC), an iconic building that stands majestically on the Montjuïc hill
After seeing MNAC we will pass by the famous Casa Batlló, one of Antoni Gaudí's most iconic works, located on Passeig de Gràcia. This masterpiece of Catalan modernism is known for its undulating, colorful façade, evoking natural shapes like bones and dragon scales. Although we won’t stop, we’ll have the opportunity to admire it from our private transport, allowing us to appreciate its stunning architecture in all its glory as we continue our tour of the city.
We’ll make a stop at La Sagrada Família, Antoni Gaudí’s most iconic masterpiece and one of the most visited monuments in the world. Although we won’t go inside, the exterior alone is breathtaking and offers plenty to admire. As you walk around the basilica, your guide will explain the symbolism and meaning behind its three façades: the intricate Nativity Façade, full of life and detail; the stark and powerful Passion Façade; and the still-in-progress Glory Façade, which will one day become the main entrance. You’ll learn how Gaudí blended nature, geometry, and faith into the design, and why construction—begun in 1882—is still ongoing today. It’s a chance to appreciate the scale and vision of this unique structure up close.
After a ride from Gothic Quarter, on our private air-conditioned vehicle, you will have a short road trip seeing the marvels of Barcelona. From our minibus, you’ll watch the Ramblas, the Columbus Monument, and Barcelona’s Mediterranean Sea. Then we will stop at Monjuïc to have a great view of the city and we will pass through the Barcelona's Olimpic Avenue. You'll continue to Park Guell on Tibidabo mountain to admire this marvelous city gardens. Then, we will do a walking tour. **Please, note that the price of the tour doesn't include Park Guell's ticket price. Ticket to Park Guell is 10€ per person. You'll pay us for it after the walking tour. We will be in charge of getting them. You don't have to worry about external ticket purchasing**
La Pedrera (Casa Milà) is one of Antoni Gaudí’s architectural masterpieces and a key example of Catalan Modernism. Completed in 1912, the building stands out for its undulating stone façade and intricate wrought-iron balconies inspired by natural forms. Visitors can explore a restored early 20th-century apartment, the Espai Gaudí museum located in the attic, and the building’s iconic rooftop terrace—famous for its sculptural chimneys and panoramic views over Barcelona. A visit to La Pedrera offers a deep insight into Gaudí’s innovative design approach and remains an essential stop for anyone interested in architecture, design, or the cultural heritage of the city.

It was the best in what was covered, how it was covered, and the guides personable attitude. I really appreciated the knowledge of the guide and the way he presented the information.
Our guide, Faidra was so knowledgeable and passionate regarding the sights we viewed. The depth of her knowledge and details regarding the evolution of Barcelona through the years was amazing. Everything was so beautiful and of course the Basilica was breath taking. One of the most, if not the most memorable tours we have taken.
Xavi (Xavier), our guide, was truly a gift to us! He showed us amazing Barcelona with knowledge, enthusiasm and humor. In spite of rain, we were able to see this beautiful city through his eyes and appreciate its culture, architecture and history. We highly recommend this tour and hope you are able to experience it with Xavi or someone as informed and passionate as he is!
Marta made this tour of Barcelona come to life! She was amazing. Friendly, warm and so very knowledgeable. Park Guell and Sagrada Familia were the highlights of our recent trip to Barcelona. We were completely amazed at Gaudi's talent and imagination. So much so, that we took the Casa Batllo tour the next day. Special thanks to Marta who made this tour such a memorable one!!!
Nuria was a great guide - explaining both the history, with her personal flavor added as a born and raised resident of the area. Highly recommend the tour - included a lot more than we expected, including a walk through the old town. Would recommend to all. Useful Note: the entry tickets for the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell are secured in advance, however you will be expected to pay for them at cost, on top of the cost of the tour.
Xavier did an amazing job with the tour from start to finish. His knowledge of the different places we visited was exceptional . He was engaging and a true professional! Without a doubt we would tour with him again.
Gloria was a wonderful tour guide. Full of information. We did a half day tour and it was well worth it!!!
Really good tour, cram packed full of history. Xavier was a great tour guide full of knowledge and very friendly. Would definitely recommend
I think I could of seen the sagrada familia and park Guell on our own and save $1500.00. It was very expensive for the content
This tour was one of the highlights of our trip. We got to see so much in Barcelona with the added benefit of a very knowledgable tour guide. Faidra was incredible and we were so impressed with her depth of knowledge. We learned so much more about Barcelona than we thought we were going to. This tour was a great value as we had transportation to the Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, and Montjuic. We also walked through the Gothic Quarter and saw all the incredible things it had to offer. I highly recommend this tour to anyone going to Barcelona for the first time, and hopefully you'll be in Faidra's group!
Our guide Aurora was fantastic and the tour was great. And she was very interesting as well! Highly recommend. Worth the extra cost for the special experience. Even my surly teen enjoyed it. Only downside was it was a rainy day.
Our tour guide was fantastic! She was extremely knowledgeable, super friendly and made us feel very welcome. She took thr time to answer all our questions and treated us like family.
Our tour guide was wonderful, we had a great time. The only thing negative I would say is that we weren’t brought back to our meeting point and had to find a taxi to get back
Josep was phenomenal. Informative and adapted very quickly when it started raining! Would recommend to everyone.
Miguel was the best guide and spent a lot of time educating us on the various places we visited. Good trip overall.
This tour was a great way to get oriented to Barcelona. It included through visits to the essential sights of La Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell and La Pedrera and familiarized us enough with the Barri Gotic, El Born and Montjuic areas to explore later on our own. Miquel kept it fun and interesting and with coffee and lunch stops included, the 7 hours were a pleasure for our small group.
This was our first visit to Barcelona. Miguel Suárez Pérez is a superb guide who provided a very memorable experience in a few hours on a Sunday. We will recommend his service to others, for sure.
Did the private tour with My family. Josep is awesome. He is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Highly satisfied and great memories
Our tour guide, Miguel, was fabulous! His English is excellent. His knowledge of Gaudi, Barcelona, and the Catalan area was excellent. We enjoyed a delicious Catalan lunch and getting to know him better. We’ll ask for him again on future tours when we are in Barcelona.
The details of the various sites were fascinating and told in a very interesting way. Monserrat took us to old town, then onto some of Gaudy's achievements. She is an excellent tour guide with a lot of knowledge. This is a long day but a must day.
I had the best experience exploring all of barcelona learninh from the famous architecture Gaudi, words can't describe how breath taking everything was I truly enjoyed my first trip to barcelona. Loving their culture art and music and history. My tour guide Miguel Suarez was the best! He always made sure we understood the history. He was very kind humble with the best personality. Thank you , yesenia.
The explanations by Miguel of the details on the Sagrada was very enticing and was really able to express the stories behind its architecture which really showed me his passion of Barcelona which made me a lot more interested. Miguel is very kind and easy going and always lent an helping hand when it came to taking pictures! It was very enjoyable to be around him and it was nice to have lunch with him too as his conversations were always so fun!
Miguel is a really nice and knowledgeable guide that took us for a city tour to sone of the must see sights. He gave us a detailed run through of all the places we saw. Highly recommend him to anyone who likes to have a goid guide around the city and the old town!
Miguel was amazing! Very friendly and informative. He was also extremely accommodating. The conversation was seamless all day. The time passed by as he shared his obvious love of the city. Would recommend highly!
Miguel Suárez was AMAZING!!! He really was able to give us a thorough explanation of everything we saw. Miguel was FANTASTIC!!! He is an asset to Barcelona!!!
We were so fortunate to have the wonderful Miguel as our guide as we explored the city! His passion for Barcelona really shines through, and he is so knowledgeable about its history and the best spots to visit—especially lesser known ones! The tour was so fun and made visiting some of the city’s busiest spots a breeze!
If you go on this tour you must ask for Miguel! He is amazing and so knowledgeable! We had a blast with him.
We had such a great time in this tour with Miguel Suarez! I am SO happy we did the small tour. It was super hot and they provided transportation thankfully! We learned so much and honestly can’t wait to go back. Our favorite was obviously Sagrada Familia-but I was also mind blown by the Park Güell! The park is absolutely precious and a wonderful spot for pictures.
This tour was an outstanding overall introduction to Barcelona with a thorough tour of the Old City and three important Gaudi sites. Barcelona is a very safe city regarding Covid precautions. The entire population embraces safety measures. Our tour guide, Miguel, made the tour delightful. He was friendly and engaging, and he drew out our interests to make recommendations for the rest of our stay in Barcelona.
Miguel is a very educated, multi lingual, knowledgeable & passionate young man. The tour would not have been the same without him. Unlocking new layers of discovery in this enchanting city along the way with secret little get aways or monuments staring you in the face that the locals themselves might not even know about. Even his anecdotes are well researched (as he is well studied) and interesting little bits of inspiration keeping you engaged & curious throughout the tour. We started with a walk through the Gothic Quarter from the Plaça de Catalunya via a historical conversation of the transformation of the original main commercial avenue, Avenguida del Portal de l’Angel. We were shuttled to the magnificent La Pedrera (Gaudi House) then to a panoramic view point atop Montjuïc and casually toured by the Olympic Stadium/village, Castle of Montjuïc through Plaça d’España by taxi again on our way to Parc Güell. After a glorious walk through of the park, we stopped for lunch at a fine little local place that specializes in Iberian Ham fed acorn! The restaurateur thanked us with a delicious acorn liqueur. Our final leg of this tour was of the spectacular Basilica de la Sagrada Familia. Again, knowledgeable both inside & out of the structure with an insight into the current status & projected completion as well as what could be the most dramatic Civil lawsuit in the cities history! Ask for Miguel, he’s eager to go back & rediscover something new with you!
Barcelona is beautiful all around … a outdoor museum and unbelievable sites… our day tour was amazing and our tour guy Miguel Suavez made it even more special w his passion for history… great teacher
Laura was our guide. She was sweet, educated, and knew her stuff. Tour lasted all day and it was flawless. Lots of walking and it was very very hot but driver got us some ice water and that helped. Coffee and croissants was good. Lunch iberian ham sandwich was to die for! Laura was great at taking our photos too. I highly recommend this tour.
We had an outstanding tour arranged by weareguidesbarcelona visiting Barcelona city (booked via viator)..... coincidentally there were no other bookings for the day, so we had the privilege to have a private tour with our own tour guide - the fabulous Miguel Perez .....we started with a walk tour covering the old city....with a small breakfast break of coffee and crossiant .... continuing to explore the main attractions ..... worthy to mention the special entry via no queue at the famous sangrada Família (saves atleast 30 mins quueuing up) ....big gracias to miguel and weareguidesbarcelona to make it very memorable to me and my family
I took a solo vacation to Barcelona and I had the pleasure of taking three tours with We Barcelona and I highly recommend it! I had Ariadne and she is the best!!! She was beyond helpful and so friendly gave great knowledge and recommendations! I recommend her to everyone and I am definitely taking g more tours with her!
Joseph was amazing! His knowledge about and passion for this beautiful city was evident and made our time with him a highlight of our visit!
Joseph was personable, passionate, entertaining and knowledgeable. He gave us a wonderful taste of some of Barcelona’s most iconic sights. A strong recommendation to orient new arrivals to this amazing city!

Very educational and the guide was very informative

Our walking tour was amazing. Angelique was our guide and she did a phenomenal job. She was very personable and knowledgeable about the Gothic Quarters and Sagrada Familia. I would highly recommend the walking tour.

This tour was a wonderful way to become oriented to Barcelona and as a bonus, learn a lot about Spanish and Catalonian history. The tour includes an extensive walking tour of the Gothic Quarter, a bus ride to/through Montjuic and a final stop at the Sagrada Familia, where you gain easy entrance for a self-guided tour at your leisure. Angelique is absolutely delightful and a wealth of information about Barcelona in general, the Gothic Quarter, restaurants in Barceloneta, Antoni Gaudi, etc. You won't be disappointed.

Two days before arriving in Barcelona I remembered that we had not signed up for our ship's inside tour of La Sagrada Familia. YIKES! Unfortunately, both ship's tours were booked. Fortunately I brought with me contact information about other tour companies recommended by Viator...one was Cataluny Tours. So I called them. They were able to arrange for an inside tour of the cathedral along with a 4 hour total walking tour with Angelique. In addition to this being short notice, it was Easter week! Unbelievable! The tour was perfect. Angelique did not stop talking about Barcelona as she took us through the Gothic quarter and much more seeing the white geese. She also recommended a local restaurant for lunch paella and other delicacies, which was a culinary experience. We even had our own van and driver! I cannot say enough good things about the quality of this tour. And it was Angelique's day off!! Be sure and ask for her. Viator, thank you for your recommendations...I really rely on them.

We did this tour with Angelique last week and it was absolutely terrific. Relaxed, entertaining, funny and informative. Angelique has a great style and loads of information to impart. We really enjoyed our tour and would have loved to have done other tours with her if we had more time. She provided us with lots of useful facts about spanish culture and information about the best places to eat and other interesting places to go. If you want an enjoyable and relaxed introduction to the city of Barcelona and Spain in general, I would highly recommend this tour - and ask for Angelique - she was great!

We loved this tour! We went on it primarily to see La Sagrada Familia, but the rest of the tour turned out to be the highlight. From Angelique, our super tour guide, we not only saw many parts of the Gothic Quarter we never would have seen, but also learned a lot about history and modern culture. Angelique made a good tour extraordinary! She also pointed out many things about La Sagrada Familia that helped us appreciate the beauty and history of the building!!

We spent a rewarding day with Montse Marquès, our French language guide. We were lucky enough to be only two people registered for the day, and were able to enjoy Montse privately all day. Montse proved to be perfect, in its hard-hitting and enriching information, which allowed us to discover Barcelona in a different way, with details and information not appearing in any audio guide. Montse’s extensive knowledge of the Sagrada familia, or Guel Park for example, allowed us to have an excellent day, with all our questions immediately answered. We can only unreservedly recommend this incredible day, with the services of Montse. It should also be mentioned that the price of the day may seem high at first glance, but includes access to all the buildings (high entrance fee), lunch as well as private taxi transportation between the different elements to see. In addition to this, the qualitative services of our guide. This day was worth every euro spent, no doubt! Laureline and Alexander
