Scam – Weeks ago, we booked the Sagrada Família in Barcelona, including access to the towers, which are extremely difficult to get tickets for, for €250 for two people. Today, we arrived in Barcelona and received an email regarding tomorrow’s tour saying that, unfortunately, access to the towers would no longer be included due to logistical reasons, but that we would receive a refund. Clever strategy: The company sells tickets for the Sagrada Família without tower access – which originally cost €30 – for three times the price. A complete rip-off!

Good tour, excellent guide although she talked too fast for my brain. Told us the Tower would not be included and we would be given a partial refund within 5 - 7 days. It’s been 2 weeks, and i am still waiting….
Marta was a great guide. Fascinating history and so enthusiastic. Really made us understand all the symbolism of the church
**Disappointing Experience — Tour Not Provided, No Refund, and No Promised Credit** My experience with this tour company was extremely disappointing, and I would caution other travelers before booking. Before arriving in Spain, I received a text message informing me that tower access at Sagrada Familia would not be provided as originally expected and that a partial credit would be issued. That credit was never received. On the day of the tour, I arrived in an unfamiliar country approximately 10 minutes before the scheduled meeting time. I saw several other tour groups, including groups booked through Viator, but none appeared to be with the tour company listed on my reservation. With the meeting time approaching, I called the phone number provided on my reservation approximately five minutes before the scheduled entry time to confirm the exact meeting location. I was told that the tour group had already gone inside early. I immediately asked whether I could enter and join them, but I was told no and that it was my fault for not being there on time. I explained that I was clearly making an effort to locate the group by calling before the scheduled meeting time to confirm where I needed to be. Despite this, the representative refused to offer any assistance or alternative solution and stated that no refund would be provided. Fortunately, we were eventually able to visit Sagrada Familia because another tour company had a last-minute cancellation. We had to pay that company separately to get in. Their representative explained that there was a 15-minute window after the tour's scheduled start time to enter—an option that our original tour company never offered or even mentioned. Instead of helping us find a solution, they simply blamed us and refused to assist. As a result, we missed the guided portion of the tourtour we had paid for, incurred an additional expense to experience this important attraction, and never received the partial credit promised in advance. Traveling in a foreign country can be challenging enough without having to deal with unclear meeting instructions and a tour operator unwilling to help a paying customer. I made an effort to contact the company before the scheduled meeting time, yet I was left without the tour, without the promised credit, and without any meaningful customer service. **I would not recommend this company based on my experience.** Clear communication, reasonable customer service, and following through on promised credits should be basic expectations of any tour operator. The fact that another company was able to help us when our original operator would not makes this experience even more disappointing.
It was beautiful! I would only say if you are doing the tower also, wear proper footwear the stairs down can be a little dark in certain spots. It was worth doing for sure.
Gabriela was superb; extensive knowledge shared throughout the tour. She also shared past photos so we had something to compare with the present. Lots of Catalan history! We had a decent size group. Meeting spot was just a few blocks from Sagrada.
Six days before flying to Barcelona, Amigo Tours cancelled my fully booked morning tour of the Sagrada Família with tower access. Because they cancelled so late, all official tickets are completely sold out. I am left stuck in Barcelona with a downgraded evening tour and zero tower access. Rather than arranging a comparable replacement, Viator/Amigo Tours offered an inferior experience without compensating me for the downgrade. Do not rely on Viator or Amigo Tours for once-in-a-lifetime bookings. They will cancel on you right before your flight, leaving you with no options to rebook.
We paid $304 US for what was supposed to be a 15 maximum person tour for 90 minutes including the tower. As it turns out there were 30 people on our tour with Marta. I cannot believe it costs $304 for a 30 person tour for (2)? I spoke to the Viator operator by phone to book and she confirmed there would only be 15 people. I think we need a partial refund. Thank you. Nancy
We specifically booked this tour to have access to the tower. We received a text message the night before saying due to unfortunate circumstances we would be unable to access the tower.. I think it’s a scam. The text message also said we were to receive a partial refund and it has been over a month and I have not received any refund. I reached out to both Viator and amigos tour and have not received any response.
Luis was amazing he turned a possible and total failure where we did not show up on his roster for the tour into an amazing experience. The tour guides is what makes the tour and Luis is one of those individuals he is amazing and were extremely happy to have him lead our tour.
I had not gotten deep into the reservation & did not realize that the meeting place for the tour was not at the Basilica, that I needed to walk several blocks away. That info would’ve been helpful to know in the early explanations of the tour.
tl,dr: bait and switch package, bad value for money, highly random and clueless guide; tower tickets available for purchase inside. — We booked the guided tour with tower because tower tickets were not available for sale directly from the attraction. It was a significant markup, but we really wanted to go up the tower and we figured the guide would be a nice add-on. However, barely a day before the tour, the operator messaged us and said that the tower was no longer going to be available and they were going to refund us the tower portion. By that point, of course there were no other packages available during our timeslot in our tailored Barcelona itinerary, so we had no choice but to go without tower access. The morning of the tour, we got to the rendezvous point and milled around with a bunch of people until a few minutes after the designated start time (actually, one of two designated start times on the voucher which provided conflicting instructions) when one of the people suddenly came to life and said I’m your guide. Thus began a series of extraordinarily inefficient discourses on the church, the sculpture, local history, etc. - a muddling style which persisted throughout the tour. The narrative ran in circles, often inconsistently and with odd dramatic pauses that just served to confuse. Sometimes we would walk to one spot, talk about it, then walk all the way across to another spot, talk about that, then go back to the first spot and continue talking about it. So the topography of the tour was as convoluted as the narrative structure. It turns out everybody on the tour was in the same boat, and the guide said that she would tell us where to buy tickets for the tower inside - good news, but as the tour meandered physically and narratively, I decided to break away and just figure it out myself. Of course, the tower tickets were already sold out for next hour and a half. But if she had taken us to the ticket desk when we first arrived, we could’ve added the tower tickets to precisely dovetail when the tour ended, and have more or less what we had originally purchased. Instead, we had to sit in the church snoozing until the later tower access time. I can’t speak for other operators with tower options, and in hindsight I should have just bought tickets online earlier directly from the church, but if you are choosing this tour to get around sold-out tower access, then don’t - just buy them inside. Use your favorite AI to create a short walking guide inside and save the euros for some gelato.
There are two tower options. We chose the Nativity tower. You are brought up an elevator. You cross a short bridge and the rest of the tour is a descent on a spiral stair case. Your view from the bridge is of a construction site. Despite news that major construction was complete in Feb 2026, all that is left is some decor motifs...You see a small bit of architecture and a lot of netting and scaffolding. The descent is narrow. If there was anything of interest not behind a scaffold you have to view it through a sliver of a window. If you are a person who wants to ponder while looking at anything you best be at the end of your group because the space is too tight for anyone to pass you on the staircase. So underwhelming.
Church is beautiful a must see! It was a great tour that got you right in! Didnt have to wait in line! Tour guide was great and knew alot of important facts!
The tour guide Txell was excellent! Unfortunately despite having booked tower access, we received a mail the week before stating we couldn't access the towers due to logistical reasons and that we would receive a partial refund. Other groups could access the towers while we were there, so it doesn't make sense. I am still waiting for this refund and Amigo tours don't reply to messages sent via the app or email. This is very unsatisfactory customer service.
I booked the full tour including the towers. About a week before the scheduled tour they canceled my original booking moving it to later in the day and without the towers. I was promised a refund for the towers. It's been a week and I still haven't received the refund and have asked multiple times with no response. The tour itself was ok. She knew her stuff but kept the group standing in the bright sun while she held up photo copies only those in the front could see and hear about.
We had a wonderful time! We learned so much from our tour guide. Segrada Familia was absolutely stunning! The tour was so cool! Only recommendation is to bring a fan! It’s hot!
Guide (Marta) was there early and very friendly and knowledgeable. Easy to hear via audio and would highly recommend this tour. Beautiful building and artwork. Brilliant!
Marta was a great tour guide. She explained everything simply with a lot of enthusiasm ! Highly recommend
Marta was amazing - very knowledgeable. Excellent communication.
Great tour, Marta was fantastic and engaging and passionate!
Amazing experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and it was a smooth entry we didn’t have to wait at all
Pretty good experience. Lewis is funny and knowledgeable. I wish we can choose which tower to go. That would be great.
I paid extra to book this tour because it included tower access (which was sold out on the official site). A few days before the tour, the organizer messaged saying there would be no tower access, but our tour guide could help us onsite. At this time, there was no way to book another tour with access because everything else sold out. Our tour guide, Paola, was great, but she didn’t know any of us were supposed to have access. In the initial notification, the organizer said they’d provide refunds for the change. I’ve reached out 4 times and nobody will respond to help with a refund. Viator, please help. We didn’t get what we paid for.
First, the church is beautiful and a must see. Save yourself time and avoid this tour. The tour meeting place for 50 people was outside a private residence and an owner was furious we were meeting there. You’ll walk 4 blocks to the church and then Francisco (guide) was behind schedule and rushed the tour. He told us great places to take photos and then never allowed ample time for people to take the photos. Lastly, if you purchase the tower access they will hold those tickets until the very end before providing them to guests. This was without a doubt the worst tour our family has ever experienced through TripAdvisor and I would encourage you to consider an alternative tour or simply visit the church ticket office and save yourself time.
Lewis was very knowledgeable on the Sagrada. He spoke very clearly and was easy to understand. A fun adventure
Excellent tour to the Basilica! The local tour guide, Marta, was energetic and informative. She led an excellent tour and kept track of our group…accommodating all of our needs!
Organized, easy to hear with a device linked to microphone in guide. Our guide was friendly gave a lot of information. Offered to answer and questions before moving on to next area. Would take the tour again .
If I I could give zero stars I would. This company is a total scam. I bought my ticket 3 weeks in advanced to visit the sacred family church with tower access in Barcelona..they sent me confirmations and everything else. 2 days prior to arrival to Barcelona they emailed me saying they had a “logistical Issue” and they cancelled my ticket. Did not offer me a suitable alternative. Do not waste your time and avoid this company at all costs.
Nice tour. The meeting place was too far away.
Martha was fantastic, very good English and great tour of the Familia
5of 5 Martha is super good and loves what she does. Had very much fun and was very entertaining
We booked what was advertised as a private tour, only to discover it was nothing of the sort, just a standard group guided tour with around 30 people. At €125 per person, this is a serious misrepresentation. Before booking, we sent multiple messages detailing our group's needs, which included children and senior members. The communication was nearly non-existent, and we had to make follow-up calls just to get basic responses. The tower visit had no guide at all, and more importantly, no advance warning about the significant staircase climb on an extremely narrow staircase. This was a real problem for our elderly guests and could have been avoided with the simplest heads-up. The tour content itself was okay, but overly detail-heavy and monotonous, not well-suited to keeping a group engaged or hitting memorable highlights. As Barcelona locals, we feel this experience is overpriced and misleadingly marketed. We won't be recommending it to friends or family.
We enjoyed the tour it was very well organized and informative. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided his personal insights from his international experiences.
Beautiful church. Well informed guide. So much to see. One can see why it has taken so long for the building
I signed up and paid for this tour through Viator. Initially signed up for tour, but didn't include tower visit. I called back, added the tower access, was billed for the additional amount, and got confirmation by email, plus showed tower access on app. When I got there, tour operator said there was no tower access. Guide requested confirmation through operator at the start of the tour, they contacted viator and viator said I didn't have tower access even though the app showed that I did.. I showed them the email confirming the amendment on my phone and the display on the app which showed tour with tower access. The guide allowed access telling us to just push on in with the group but not without significant hassle. Tour was great, but suggest going directly to web site of tour operator - Viator proved to be very unreliable and certainly not worth the hassle on the day of the tour.
Our experience was phenomenal. Gonzalo was great. Very thorough and steeped in knowledge and lore surrounding all of the history and characters involved in the Sagrada La familia. The tour flowed well from entrance to exit and we were able to catch the setting sun’s rays through the stained glass . Gorgeous! And a one of kind experience. Thank you Amigo tours, Viator and Gonzalo!
The small group tour of La Sagrada Familia with Giovanna was spectacular! She was very knowledgeable and made the tour extra special and interesting. There was minor confusion with the ticket pickup and guide meeting points being in two different places, but it was easily resolved by calling the tour company just before we met our tour guide. Giovanna is the best guide!
Exceeded expectations. Marta did a wonderful job navigating crowds and provided many interesting details throughout the tour.
Our tour guide was Martha from Amigo Tours. Very bubbly, vibrant personality. Was very knowledgeable in everything she delivered. A well structured tour of the Sangrada Família. Meeting point clear - well organised.
What a spectacular place. The feeling of being at such a majestic place which has taken years to complete. Beautiful views from the top. A must visit when in Barcelona!
Txell was an awesome guide and we are happy to have paid for a private tour which included the tower. You take an elevator up the tower but a narrow spiral staircase down which is doable... but avoid if you have vertigo. Txell had a passion for architecture and answered our questions, especially clarifying the meanings of the outer facade. We would've missed so much going through on our own. Book it now!
We booked for Amigo Tours via Viator for a private tour of the cathedral spaces and the Passion Façade towers. When we arrived at the meeting point outside, it was a larger group that split into smaller groups with their own tour guides, ours was Txell. Txell handled ticketing and getting us into the catherdral. She gave excellent insight on the histories/origins and explanations of the artworks, architecture, and designs of the components of the cathedral of La Sagrada Familia drawing from her years of training and experience as an architect and architecture professor, covering both the Nativity and Passion facades and the ininteriors of the cathedral and cloister. She spoke slowly and carefully in English (not her native language), but it was clear she likely would've had answers for any questions we could've asked. She also stated she couldn't accompany us to see the tomb or go up the towers. If you can, you should absolutely go up into the towers. You'll take an elevator from inside the cathedral to the top of one of the façade towers, at which point you must take the stairs all the way down (400 steps!)- you may not take the elevator back down. Contrary to my expectations, it feels very safe especially higher up; the stairs are fully wall-enclosed to about shoulder width and spiral most of the way down, and the bridge between the Passion towers has tall parapets about chest-high (~5ft) with a wire fence enclosure above. The spiral staircase for the last 1/3 of the way down has a wall and railing on one side and the staircase is about 5 or 6 ft diameter wall to wall with about a 1ft open gap in the middle. You have to get through security, so if you bring a bag/pack, pack minimally. Water is allowed. Backpacks aren't allowed going up the tower, so there are secure lockers next to the elevators for you to hold your belongings.
Txell was incredibly knowledgable, answered all of our questions, and did a great job explaining the history of La Sagrada Familia. We were really looking forward to this experience, and she made it very memorable and enjoyable! Thank you!!
Booked Amigo Tours private tour with Txell and it was worth every penny. Easy to listen to and very knowledgable.
I booked this tour with tower access. I was just inform the tower access is not available.. Why was I sold the tickets if in fact it was not available. Do not book with this company. Our tour is on Wednesday, May 13 and I notified was notied this afternoon, May 10. I see from other reviews that this something this company does to people. How awful! Lynne Baer
Marta was an absolutely amazing guide, she helped us understand all the little details & the story behind the Sagrada Familia and its architecture - absolutely brilliant!! Thank you Marta! We went at 9am and it was quieter inside which was very nice! We also had headphones connected to Marta’s microphone which helped us to hear what she was saying throughout the whole tour.
Absolutely stunning. Taking the elevator up is interesting, but not necessarily the best part. Out guide was dynamic and fun.
Please do not book this tour with Towers Access!!! My family of 4 did that and were abruptly notified just a few days before our tour was to take place that the tower portion was being canceled and a partial refund would be provided. The only explanation given was lack of availability for the towers - something that you would expect to have been determined before our reservation was accepted weeks beforehand! After trying multiple times to get information on the refund, I was finally told that it would be 1/5 of the price difference we paid for the Towers Access option compared to the normal tour. Very disappointing, especially since the biggest reason we booked with them was for the Tower access. Please go with another company and don’t make the same mistake I did!
Never book with Amigo Tours! Classic bait and switch. They offered the Sagrada Familia with Tower Access Tour for $127. Tours without tower access range around $40-$70. Then two days before the tour I get an email saying no tower access is available "for logistical reasons." Many others on the same did not receive an email at all! Then they offer a partial refund of $11.97! What a joke! Total scam. Viator, kick these thieves off your site!
