This tour was available in a pinch since I didn’t realize tickets directly from the Sagrada Familia website were sold out weeks well in advance. I got the early morning option, which was ideal to catch the morning light shining through the stained glass windows. We entered the cathedral during the quiet hour, which was peaceful to enjoy the vastness of the cathedral and near silence. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the construction and meaning behind all the sculptural work of the Sagrada Familia and Antonio Gaudí. She provided a lot of insights as she spoke to us through our headsets. The tour takes about two hours where you’ll spend the last half hour to 45 minutes exploring the tower. You cannot miss out on the tower climb because the views of the city are spectacular from way up high.

This tour was simply amazing and did not disappoint. Our guide was so informative and showed us some the exquisite features of the Sagradia Familia- what a feat of engineering, innovation and imagination. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Barcelona.
This was a great tour. Check in with Julia Travel was quick and efficient. Our guide, Oliver, was great! Very personable and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!
The cathedral is spectacular and Viator provided excellent access. We were unhappy with the dual language format. There was too much wasted time waiting to hear everything twice. It got very tedious.
Amazing tour. Must-see inside of Sagrada Família. Recommend the tower tour but it’s not for the weak of heart.
You can take the metro to get to the Sagrada Familia! The meeting point is easy to find, as soon as you arrive to Julia Travel the people were very nice and helpful. PIlar our guide was incredible, she had a mic and we have whispers so it was easy to follow her! She gave us a lot of information and guide us everywhere, you can see her passion and I love it
Fabulous!!! Our tour guide Maria Theresa was excellent! She had so much historical information. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
Fantastic Guide! Maria Theresa, as a professor, taught us so much about Gaudi and the building. Everyone should have her as their guide!!! Her knowledge and passion for Il Sagrada was so apparent as she spoke. How lucky we were to have her as our guide.
The trip was extraordinary and our tour guide was informative. Tickets were pricey but it was worth it.
First off, tour was great. The guide was excellent and very knowledgeable in the history. The issue came with the tower access being closed and the battle to get refunded for the portion. We had 4 people on the tour, with only 2 with access to the tower. The cost difference between the two was 76$ Canadian and between Viator and Julia travel, we were only compensated 1/2. No party would provide written explanation and after 4 hours spent between phone calls and emails, the costs were not refunded. Viator blames Julia travel, Julia travel blames the Sagrada Família. Either way, the lack of ownership and responsibility is unacceptable and I would recommend booking directly through the location if available. I can’t in good conscience recommend either Viator or Julia Travel.
You will be outside for part of it, dress appropriately. Wear comfy shoes and if you go up into the towers you will be walking down 10 flights of narrow spiral stairs with no handrails. It was worth it.
Adrià is a great guide. He speaks clearly and gave us lots of information. It's well worth it. Specially for the natural light effects and the feeling of being like in a forest. The lift to the tower was great too. Impressive views from there.
Terrible , poor organization, we waited longer in the skip the line than the regular line , lousy head phone , too large of a group. Over 40 persons in group , too expensive for what you get , I would not recommend
Our guide Maria Theresa (Tessa) was magnificent, so knowledgeable and passionate about Gaudi and the Sagrada. So much to learn about the building which you would not know without a tour guide.
Very beautiful inside. We had to wait a long time trying to get inside because of crowds. The tower trip did not happen because they closed tower access at 5:30.
Amazing guide, Tessa of Julia Travel. Professor of Art at university. She gave such great explanations & background. La Sagrada Familia is gorgeous and this tour was fantastic. I’d highly recommend. Thank you Tessa!
Tessa was an absolutely amazing tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable. She went into depth on items not even highlighted by the self guided tour Highly recommend
Third time touring Sagrada Família By far best-knowledgeable and thorough. Outstanding! Enjoyed much!
There was bad weather and our flight got cancelled. The operator I refused to consider this unfortunate issue to reschedule my tour. Very expensive tour . Very unreasonable operator. Victor did not help either.
A must do if you’re in Barcelona.
Great tour. Highly recommend. Our tour guide, Olga E. was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The meeting location was easy to find and next to the church.
Wonderful visit to the beautiful Sagrada Família. Helpful to purchase tickets ahead of time and have a tour. Our tour guide Jose was perfect! Very knowledgeable and pace of tour was just right! Very glad we booked this tour!
The tour leader was knowledgeable and gave an enjoyable tour. She was friendly and responded nicely on the questions made by the participants.
Whole experience was amazing having not seen Sa Grada Familia since 2002! Absolutely loved it & our guide Jorge was just the best . He was a Superb guide, very informative & witty with it. Tower visit is a must if you are able, to see the depth of detail /architecture up close. We hope to return in a few years to see future plans in place for the Basillica & will be booking again a guided tour with Julia Travel ...hopefully Jorge will still be there!. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit & look forward to our return
Jose was extremely knowledgeable, spoke clearly in English. Clearly knew his history of the basilica and the signs finance of the architectural and design elements which he communicated well. We had been on a tour of Sagrada Família four years ago and we felt our tour with Jose was so much more informative, helping us to understand the “why” of the structure and design. If you can get Jose as a guide I highly recommend this tour!
We took the two-hour tour of the Sagrada Família, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Unfortunately, I can’t remember our tour guide’s name, but he made an already incredible experience even more memorable. The Sagrada Família is truly breathtaking and definitely a must-see on your next visit to Barcelona. Highly recommend this tour!
Segrada Familia is a must see! In order to learn about it so that you can appreciate its beauty all the more, please take a guided tour. Our guide from Julia travel was great! You can tell she knows a great deal about Gaudi and the basilica.
The stairs coming down from the tower are no joke. It could be rough for someone with mobility issues. I don’t have a fear of heights but I was uncomfortable. The interior at sunset is spectacular. We will definitely go back.
You owe me a refund. There was no visit of the tower and I paid extra for it. This the second tour I book with Viator and I don't get what I paid for.
Our tour guide was fantastic! Such a breathtaking experience, overall. The dreamy atmosphere inside was otherworldly.
We paid a premium to have Tower access, knowing that there was an elevator, but without advance warning that you could not take the elevator down, AND the 300 stairs down did not have consistent railings. So that was a complete waste of money, and Viator's fault for inadequate warning. Our audio sets were virtually always filled with static that couldn't be fixed, and our tour guide spoke extremely quickly and with what seemed a deliberately exaggerated accent, so it was almost impossible to hear anything. The venue was spectacular, but the paid for tour was worthless.
Omar led a group of about 30 people very capably. He is extremely knowledgeable about Gaudi and the spectacular Basílica. We booked with Viator and everything worked out very well. The meeting point is easy to find.
The cathedral is wonderful and worth going to. For the price of this tour the group should have been smaller. It was hard to hear and understand our tour guide.
To begin, my review is for Viator and Julia Travel, not the actual tour of Sagrada Familia GARBAGE! GARBAGE! GARBAGE! Absolutely the worst experience of my life with Viator and Julia Travel in Barcelona. Total trash! If I could give this experience a negative number, I would do it without hesitation. We got onto a hop on hop off bus tour in the morning right after our flight and dropped everything off at the hotel to go immediately on the bus. We thought we had plenty of time to make it to Sagrada Familia, but unfortunately, the bus took much longer than expected (2 1/2 hours!) and made extremely long stops at every stop, which caused us to get to the guide location right at the time scheduled, possibly 1-2 minutes right after. We didn't realize that our tour guide was nowhere to be found...didn't even see them walking to the Sagrada Familia or in the vicinity. So we bumped into another tour guide and asked her if she was our tour guide because she was still there at the travel place. She told us to go to Julia travel and let them know we were there. Julia travel then proceeded to call our tour guide so we could catch up to her....ok fine...thinking that she would let us join the tour already in session. We basically ran to Sagrada (2-3 min) and she wasn't anwhere in line...which led us to believe that she had gone in already. Security caught up to her and was willing to take us to her no problem but the tour guide flat out refused! I paid $140 per ticket ($280 total) to go on this tour and she wouldn't let us in!!! I get the cancellation policy, however, there should be some flexibility for people's situations. So if I'm late for a show, do they not honour my ticket?? No, they let you in knowing you've missed part of the show. We were ok with missing part of the tour and she was right there at the beginning. I realize we were over the time due to running back and forth, however, we were there for one day and the least they could have done was let us in minus the tour, just as a regular ticket...after all, we did pay for it and we were already included as customers. Messaged Viator and they flat out refused to refund us. No flexibility whatsoever! Julia travel also didn't remotely try to help us out. If they had called the tour lady, they could have easily said to please let us in the tour. Will NEVER use this site EVER! Total trash of a site and customer service stinks..including this travel agency. TOTAL SCAM! They know you're in a strange country finding your way and there's no leeway. Viator can take their Viator dollars and stick it where the sun doesn't shine.
Beautiful place, impressive architecture and so many details. Our guide Jaime was a wealth of knowledge and information. The only sad part is that we didn't see any others in our tour group of about 20 people tip Jaime for his excellent job. Tightwads! Tour guides don't make alot of wages and depend on tips to live. Please tip, if you can afford to travel internationally you can afford at least a small tip.
Breathtaking experience. Ava was the best tour guide ever. Very knowledgeable, friendly and patient. Answering all the questions.
Excellent guide Txell who navigated crowd well and spoke English clearly. A shortish tour but plenty of time to explore on your own. Unfortunately the tower visit was closed due to weather warnings. A must see, the stained glass windows shone in the afternoon light.
The meeting location personnel didn’t give good directions. Stood around for quite a bit. The guide had a very strong accent and couldn’t understand her English very well. Next time I would get my ticket at church and use the audio English earbuds.
The agency that checked us in was not friendly. Rude and not very responsive to the group. However, Adrian saved the experience! He was congenial, informative and captured his audience.
The interior of Sagrada Familia is amazing and should not be missed. Irina S was a great guide. She was very knowledgeable and eager to show off the basilica.
Unfortunately I don't remember our tour guides name but it & he were the best tour of our entire trip.
Once we started the tour Adria was great. Very knowledgeable and explained everything throughly. He also offered restaurant recommendations in the area. Very helpful.
Olga E was the absolute best! I felt like I was hearing the story from someone who lives and loves the legacy of Barcelona and Gaudi. Excellent tour and amazing person.
I did a tour with Olga E. She was so expressive and experienced. Loved every moment!
Olga e was a great tour guide with lots of passion
Of our 8 European vacation tours, this was my favorite. Pipo was an amazing guide! He was so excited to share his knowledge! The way Gaudí designed the Cathedral incorporating light, color, and math (!!) was amazing. Everything is spectacular—inside and outside!!
Tour is of outside and inside main Basilica large open room only. It is informative but does not cover the expanse of the side buildings on the grounds. We had tickets for the spires, but that part was cancelled due to start of light rain with thunder and lightning storms expected. There were apparently add on tickets for levels that we did not know about ahead of time. The museum is included with admission. We learned you can attend Mass Saturday evening or Sunday morning at no charge… but wait in a long line.
This was my favourite excursion by far The sagrada famiglia tour guide was excellent and the place was phenomenal
David was a great guide with lots of knowledge to share. An amazing place to visit.
The actual tour guide was very good. The rest of the experience dealing with the tour company was not. My wife and I and another couple were travelling together with the wife's taking the standard tour and the husband's taking the Tower Access tour. We arrived 8:45 am, 15 minutes earlier than the tour start time as recommended, only to be told that both tours had been cancelled and that we would have to come back at noon or 3:00 pm. We had booked this tour months prior, travelled by Uber to get there on time and continued to receive emails confirming that the tour was scheduled to proceed on that date and time. What made it even more frustrating was the fact that a standard tour was heading out at the 9:00 am start time we had booked. This was totally unacceptable and we let the agent there know this. After some back and forth and probably 5 or more minutes after the 9:00 am group left, we were told that we could join that group. So I didn't get the Tower Access portion I paid for and missed the first portion of the standard tour. Overall, a very very frustrating experience and not at all what I expect from Viator.
