Departure Point
- All of our tours meet at our office, which is directly across from the outside cafe area of the Palau de la Musica. We advise that you arrive 15 minutes before the tour starts.
Return
- Depending on the size of the group and the traffic restrictions on the day of the tour, your tour will finish back at the office, or in Placa Catalunya, which is an easy 3-5 minute walk from the office.
Itinerary
8.15am - You will start your day at our main office, which is right next to the famous Palau de la Musica. You will meet your guide, have time to use the restrooms, and perhaps even grab a quick coffee before the tour begin. Your guide will explain all about the day ahead and what to expect as you wait for you tour to leave.
8.30am - You will leave Barcelona though the Eixample district of town. As you head out of the city, your guide will give you a brief history of Barcelona, before letting you sit back and relax on the 60 minute drive to Vic.
9.00am - From Barcelona you will head north, quickly leaving the hustle and bustle of a busy Mediterranean city behind. As we climb up the Pyrenees, you will drive past Montseny, a 30,000 hectare natural park that was designated a world biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1978 and is still a haven for wild boars, badgers, hares, foxes, red squirrels, eagles, and red partridges among others, living in beech, pine and oak forests.
9.30am - Your first stop on this small group tour is the old market town of Vic. You will be guided through this old medieval town, visiting the cathedral - with its mix of styles ranging from Romanesque to neoclassical, the town's magnificent renaissance and baroque buildings, and the ancient Roman Temple, which lies hidden between the buildings of the old quarter. Afterwards, you will have plenty of free time to grab a coffee or some breakfast in the heart of the town by the beautiful arched square where the market and other major events are still held.
12.30pm - After Vic, your next stop is the stone-built mountain village of Queralbs; the last point on your route accessible by road. Leave the minivan, and accompanied by your guide, ride the rack railway up to the Nuria Valley. Home to a lake and bright green pastures ringed by high peaks, this picturebook valley is one of the most beautiful in the Pyrenees. Admire the scenery from the train, and on arrival, enjoy several hours to explore as you wish. Perhaps follow your choice of the hiking trails suitable for different fitness levels. Although a good physical fitness is not a prerequisite of this tour, a reasonable level is required. Alternatively, take your pick from the local activities (own expense) such as horse riding or boating, or enjoy a meal (own expense) at one of the traditional Catalan restaurants. See the Itinerary for details of the activities available. When the time comes, return to Barcelona where your trip ends at the start point.
12.50pm - The Nuria Valley (Vale de Nuria) boasts a beautiful lake and bright green pastures ringed by high peaks. This picturebook valley is one of the most beautiful in the Pyrenees. Admire the scenery from the train, and on arrival, enjoy several hours to explore as you wish. Perhaps follow your choice of the hiking trails suitable for different fitness levels, such as the paths up to the Valley Coma de Vaca. Although a good physical fitness is not a prerequisite of this tour, a reasonable level is required if you wish to take the Coma de Vaca trails. Alternatively, take your pick from the local activities (own expense) such as horse riding or boating, or enjoy a meal (own expense) at one of the traditional Catalan restaurants.
4.00pm - This tiny mountain village has a population of only 200 permanent residents living in a rambling collection of traditionally built stone houses. Perched on the side of the mountain, this impossibly quaint, picture postcard beautiful hamlet is one of the most memorable parts of the day. Here, you will also be able to see the Church of Sant Sadurní de Fustanyá, built from stones so perfectly-hewn that legend says it was built by the fairies and witches said to inhabit the surrounding caves. After an hour or so, we will head back to the bus and begin our journey back to Barcelona.
7.00pm - You will arrive back in Barcelona well time for dinner. Your guide will be happy to show you to the nearest metro or how to get a taxi. If you are staying in town, he will give you some restaurant recommendations.

Great tour, awesome tour guide Carma. Enjoyed every minute. The tour in Vic was great, loved this city would love to have spent half a day wandering
We really enjoyed this one day trip to the Pyrenees. Our guide Carmen was wonderful - enthusiastic, friendly and very knowledgeable about Barcelona and the towns/ region we visited. The itinerary was varied and included a nice mix of driving and sightseeing, group and personal time, and transportation modes including a funicular and cable car ride. Beautiful scenery. Highly recommend this trip!
It was great! Very informative
It was a wonderful place to visit, and the guide was very kind and helpful. We had a fantastic time! We’d love to come back again in winter.
The company was great. The tour was quite enjoyable. Our guide was personable and friendly. We were surprised but it all worked out.
Overall great trip, including the stop overs. Carman did a terrific job leading the tour and providing historical background. A great day away from the city.
Great tour. Our tour guide, Nurai really made this tour very special as you gave information on not only the medieval towns and Pyrenees but on the history on Cataluna. It was a wonderful day
It was a wonder visit to Vic and the Vall de Nuria, Spanish Pyrenees. Our guide Carme was warm, friendly and knowledgeable with the facts and interesting details of the places we visited. She also recommended for us to have a picnic at the lake which was beautiful. Definitely well worth the visit and if you get Carme as your guide, you are in wonderful hands. Thank you, Carme
The Pyrenees Mtns were beautiful! The guide took us in a pleasant drive in an SUV throught the countryside visiting medieval old town of Vic along the way. Lunch on our own. Our ticket included a ride on tram and gondola up to top of mountain at Vall de Nuria resort. Spectacular views at top and nice walk back down to tram station.
Beautiful tour.Loved the diversity of landscapes.. From medivial towns to pristine lake - this was such a beautiful day.Lir guide Sirjee (Sergie) was so passionate, informative and helpful . We were a small group of 8, and the entire day was an amazing experience - right from the old town Vic to the blue watered lake Nuria surrounded by the Pyrenees and to end the day with Queralps - every stop was so beautiful
We had the best time on the excursion, our guide William was very knowledgeable and enhanced our understanding and knowledge of each place we visited.
Great tour with Carmena today. She was very informative and nice. She made sure that everyone was ok. The scenery from this tour was " amazing"!!! Just wow
This tour was greatly timed and felt really nice and personal( group of about 6 people)! Our tour guide Carmen was really knowledgeable about the Medieval towns and the Pyrenees’s town “ Muria”. She made this tour very smooth and was able to communicate with us in Spanish and English! I definitely recommend this tour to help visitors expand their understanding of Spain!
we had a wonderful tour. The guide Carme was so nice and enthusiastic. She tried to deliver the story and history during the whole tour and recommended the best spots to visit. Until now, the most satisfying tour and guide ever!!!
The tour was an opportunity to see Pyrenees during our stay in Barcelona. Our guide, Carme provided information and historical context along the way. I particularly enjoyed taking time in Vic’s square to drink a tea and soak up the atmosphere.
A great day trip. Beautiful views, nice self hiking, and Alex the gide was great
Alex was an amazing guide. Great tour and a wonderful history lesson.
We had an amazing trip today to the Pyrenees and the Nuria Valley. Espessially wonderful was our guide Alex Morales. So informative, nice and kind. This made our trip today ( the 7th of May ) something to remember. 😊
Visiting the two towns and going on the rack railroad up to the mountains was a very good experience. Our guide Steven did a great job driving us there and giving commentary about the area. His handling of the bad weather at the mountain made the trip worthwhile.
We had a wonderful experience on the tour to the Pyrenees Mountains! The first stop, Vic, has a lovely plaza with plenty of time to get breakfast. Our second stop was to Queralbs where we walked around the old part of the town and then took the train to Vall de Nuria. The views are amazing, especially if you take the cable car up the mountain! Again, plenty of time for picture taking and a snack/lunch. Our tour guide, Nuria, was very friendly and informative! She answered any questions we had and was a pleasure to spend time with. The tour was definitely worth it and we made memories to last a lifetime!
Awesome trip, due to early hour Vic was just waking up so not everything was available but the town itself was beautiful. The towns and ski area were gorgeous, there was snow and winds so we couldn’t do everything but if you take this trip in April just plan to be flexible and bring layers. Overall, it was an amazing experience and would do it again.
Rodrigo was an excellent guide and was always keen to keep the group intrigued. Steady paced day with plenty of beautiful walks around old Catalan villages and Nuria.
Wonderful experience. Rod was amazing! Extremely knowledgeable and informative. Very kind and courteous. Dropped us off then went to park van! Did not make us walk forever! Rod went above and beyond to explain history and answer questions that we had. Highly recommend this trip or any tour with Rod!
Rod was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and funny and made the journey wonderful. He suggested great places to eat and would highly recommend Rod!!
Rod was great. We spent a great time during the trip. He even explained as much as he could in Spanish and English fo my family that was not English speaking.
It is difficult to put into words how wonderful our experience was. Berta was perfect in every way. The only thing that was not perfect is that we had an American complainer in our group. I was amazed at how professionally Berta handled that challenge. Thanks Berta.
So great to get out of the city and into nature for a day. Berta did a nice job personalizing the tour to our family. Recommend the gondola ride to the top but the buffet at the hotel.
Nuria was a great tour guide, and the trip was well-planned. I enjoyed spending time in nature in the mountains.
Loved the tour. Our tour guide, Carme was so delightful to talk. She told us a lot about the history of the towns we visited, pyrenees mountains and many other interesting facts. Visited Quarelbs with best village vibes and saw an ancient church. We traveled in Feb and luckily it was just us that day, turning it to a private tour. It was very comfortable and well planned. Snow covered Pyrenees mountains looked so beautiful. It was good value for money.
Fascinating experience in north spain with our guide Berta! Starting from Vic, old small village, we also visited small village on the way to top of the mountain. The view watched on summit was such an unforgettable memories for of us! I strongly recommend this tour!!
Very nice, very good guide from Rodrigo, we loved it. The place was beautiful and we loved the snow, we are very grateful with this tour
This tour took us on a magical visit thru history. Vall de Nuria felt like a Hallmark movie. So much beauty and fresh air. Tren cremallera up the mountain was modern, comfortable and not scary.

Unique experience to visit the market town of Vic, medieval village of Queralbs, rack railway to Nuria Valley
Marta was awesome! We wish she could be our guide throughout our time in Spain! Plus she’s an amazing driver! This tour was well worth the time and money!
Great day trip if you are in barcelona. Pyrenees is beautiful! A nice little place to explore while in Barcelona. The guide was knowledgeable.
It is a long day so be prepared for a long journey. In saying that Sergio was a fantastic guide who pointed out things along the way, spoke of the history of the towns. Was attentive and very knowledgeable In Vic, if not a market day, go to the bakeries for food. We visited a long time ago when it was market day, that was super. Queralbs and the cog train were great. Vall St Nuria is just so picturesque. Would have given 4.5 stars.
Excellent tour into the Pyrenees, stunning views & enjoyable visits to the 3 medieval villages via van & a short train ride. Our guide Sergio was very knowledgeable & fun to listen to & he had with him Alex, an assistant, learning about this particular excursion. We really liked the small group aspect & that there was ample free time to walk around, built in. Not recommended for young children but very comfortable for all other ages. We’d do it again.
This tour was filled with charming villages and glorious scenery, woven together with brilliance by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide who was determined to bring us together with music and laughter. This was such a memorable tour!
Great trip to Vic, Queralbs, and the Pyrenees! Guide Javi was very well informed and a pleasure to meet.
I enjoyed the tour to the fullest. Towns are charming and nature views excellent. Tour guide has an excellent personality… very safe driver 👍
Very nice trip. Steve was knowledgeable and fun. The views from the top of the mountain are spectacular. We did a 45 min hike on a sunny day. Pack a lunch and wear comfy clothes.
Rod told us about the history of the area. Very patient and informative. Friendly, helpful and fun. Such a great way to see a beautiful part of Spain. Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us.
We did this tour witn Rod and it wad excellent. We learned a lot from all the stories and history we covered during this fabulous day. I will recommend to do this tour to anyone that wants to see other areas other than just the city.
Fun day going up to Nuria sanctuary through Vic and Quaralbs. A mix of outdoors and history which was a great time. Tour guide was knowledgeable and was able to easily navigate us around the area providing info of each stop.
I loved everything about this tour. Vic is enthralling. I used the free time for a quick visit to the magnificent Museu d'Art Medieval. And even though we encountered Vall de Núria in thick fog, it was still breathtaking. Our guide Berta was superlative. She happily shared so much information about Spain, from antiquity to modern times, and clearly laid out our options in each locale so that we could make the most of our time. It was an unforgettable day.
This trip is WELL worth just the experience of being in Núria! All of the journey is memorable and being it is a small group tour, you can still enjoy like other larger groups I never recommend. Núria was actually our guides name as well and as she gives ample time and information you’ll still have time for being alone for around 40-60mins at each. I always found being in group tour requires some extra patience as waiting for others to catch up for just “another selfie”. Fortunately my group on this trip was great and we had all shared experiences and memories of laughter together ❤️
We loved everything about the tour. The stops we made were excellent. Our tour guide, Nuria, was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you.
