Itinerary
This tour will start from your accommodation in Barcelona. Your guide will pick you up at any apartment or hotel you are staying at. Once the pick-up is completed, you will head to the fist destination of your daytour.
Once you're picked up, you'll journey south from Barcelona to the stunning Costa Dorada. Your destination is Tarragona, a city renowned for its well-preserved Roman heritage, home to some of Spain's most significant ancient ruins. Explore the remarkable Roman Amphitheater and take in the grandeur of this historic site. You'll also be captivated by the stunning Devil’s Bridge, a remarkable aqueduct stretching 711 feet (217 meters) long and rising 85 feet (26 meters) high, a true testament to Roman engineering.
While being in Tarragona, you will admire the impressive 'Devil’s Bridge'. This aqueduct, 711 feet (217 meters) long and 85 feet (26 meters) high, is a spectacular example of the advanced Roman engineering.
Further on, you'll begin the walking tour, where you will discover the many still preserved remains of this civilization, while our guide provides their most exciting stories. You will be able to explore the ancient walls surrounding the city and be immersed into one of the best preserved circuses in Europe, hidden under building structures from the 19th century. You will see as the traces of the ancient Roman forum live in the present with the medieval and modern Tarragona.
Finally, you will get the chance to enter the amfitheater, located on the shore of the Mediterranean since the 2nd century. Explore the remarkable Roman Amphitheater and take in the grandeur of this historic site.
After this tour in the footsteps of our distant past, you will get back on the road to head to another charming town full of colors and modernist spirit, Sitges. Sitges is a special location where the mountains kiss the sea. It is a mixture of traditional fishermen’s houses with a bohemian and lively atmosphere, full of little boutiques, restaurants and street artist and musicians.
The church of San Bartolomé y Santa Tecla in Sitges is a charming seaside church known for its stunning neo-Gothic design and picturesque location overlooking the Mediterranean. This iconic landmark offers visitors a peaceful escape, with its beautiful white façade and panoramic views of Sitges' coastline.

Eduardo was Amazing! I took my mom on the tour who has mobility issues walking we had a travel scooter and Eduardo personalized the trip so my mom was able to see all sights without all the stairs. He made this trip very special and treated us like his family! Thank you for a memorable and blessed trip!
We had a wonderful day with our guide, Ramon visiting Tarragona and Sitges. He was knowledgeable and provided great information throughout the tour, while also being very accommodating and flexible. We especially appreciated that he gave us time to explore on our own and enjoy special moments together as a family, rather than making us feel rushed. He offered just the right amount of structure to keep us on schedule while still allowing us to relax and enjoy each destination at our own pace. He was pleasant to be around, and despite spending 10 hours together on a private tour, the day felt both enjoyable and effortless. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a personalized and relaxing experience.
My daughter and I had a wonderful time with Adele and Agosto. After a smooth pickup at our hotel, we were driven to Tarragona to see the aquaduct (my favorite!), and the Roman circus/arena by the sea. On the way back we went to Sitges for lunch and some beach time. The thing that really stood out for me was how this tour made the day so much more accessible for me, in a way that let me decide at every point what I felt comfortable doing. I have bad knees and though I can walk and climb a few stairs slowly, a typical "walking tour" is not an option for me. I wanted to see everything within my ability without overdoing it. Sometimes when you're disabled people start making choices for you, but this team was the opposite. I always felt like it was up to me how far I went and what I wanted to do. With a separate guide and driver, drop offs and pick ups were always in the most convenient place, (not the place with the parking). I appreciated the separate stop between the drive and the town to use the restroom and buy a coffee. After sightseeing, Adele called around and found a restaurant with good gluten-free options. Adele speaks really good English, so it was easy to understand her stories about the sights and know that she could understand what I needed. After a lovely time by the beach, we were driven back to Barcelona in air-conditioned comfort with bottled water provided. A beautiful day with a top notch tour.
Had a fantastic time with Eduardo. He gave us a walk through the history of tarragona and knew all the ins and outs of the town. He picked perfect spots to get great views and great shops and places to grab a treat. At stiges he helped us get the best bang for the buck on lunch and can tailor it to any budget. Then more incredible sights and views. Do not skip this tour and try and ask for Eduardo, you wont be disappointed
We had a great experience with Eduardo traveling to Tarragon and Sitges. He was very courteous and knowledgeable.
Lovely trip with excellent guide. If you want nice any cozy one-day trip away from Barcelona by all means take this one with In Out Barcelona Tours. Our guide Liana was superb, knowleadgeble, insightful and amazing. Highly recommend her.
This was the third day tour with In / Out while in Barcelona. The first 2 - 5 stars - (1) Montserrat and (2) Dali. This could have been equally great. But Diego our tour guide was terrible. My recommendation is to cancel and request a refund if Diego is your tour guide. He was more interested in telling us about himself and his life. The start was bad no other guide had a problem finding us and coordinating. He called and wanted another 30 minutes so he could figure out where to park and come get us. WTF. He took us on a nice detour overlooking the city but then it began. He walked around and smiling and telling how great it was. Yeah - but what about the history - what are we looking at. We pressed on - driving to tarragona. The speed limit was 120, he drove 75-80. And 1 1/2 trip morphed into 2 1 /4. He talked the whole time but not about the sights - but about him. We stopped at the aqueduct - finally. Did he prep us and discuss before we stopped - no. The whole day was a disaster. I expect it could have been great. The other private tours we took with this company were
Lluis was excellent, very informative, arrived early for pick up and was very happy to answer all our questions. Pointing out places of interest along the way. It would have helped if there had been a microphone in the car as Lluis is softly spoken. You will have an enjoyable tour if Lluis is your guide, i would highly recommend this tour.
Amazing day with Miguel seeing and learning about ancient Roman history in Tarragona contrasting with stunning Sitges.
Tarragona was amazing! And Ramon our guide made the entire experience so worthwhile. This is the second time we toured with him. He’s very knowledgeable and shared information with us in a very understandable manner.
Les vues sont magnifiques. Nous avons passé un très bon moment. Le guide Teo est fantastique. Son anglais est vraiment très facile à comprendre. (Pour nous des francophones du Québec😊) The views were wonderful. Our guide Teo was very interesting, very funny and gave us simple explanations easy to understand. Our tour would not have been the same without him. I recommend this tour.
Ramon was a fantastic guide who gave plenty of information and explanations of the sites. He did a great job of tying some of the key points together while we toured the city. He gave us some good recommendations for the things to see and what to eat at Sitges as well. We enjoyed the day and would recommend this tour for anyone who wants to get out of Barcelona for a day.
We were blessed with the best guide ever! Eduardo was incredible. From the beginning of our tour he started to tell us about important current and historical information of the various places we visited. His knowledge of the history of the region and important places was unbelievable. The places we visited, Tarragon and Sitges were amazing. He was able to arrange lunch at a phenomenal restaurant right on the beach. He is personable, friendly and cheerful. We took beautiful photos. During our return home he could have easily taken the autopista but instead he took us home along the seashore with stunning views. Eduardo is unforgettable, he will remain in our hearts. Thank you, Eduardo for an amazing tour. We love you!
The city of Tarragona and Sitges are stunning! The history of it is truly humbling. Our guide Vincent is so knowledgeable and enjoyed sharing it with us. He answered every question!
This is our second tour with Miquel. He is prompt, funny and informative. He shared a lot of interesting details. Carlos was a great driver as well.
The trip was amazing! Absolutely the most perfect day. Our tour guide Teo was so kind, knowledgeable and gave us a great private tour. We had plenty of time to see historical sites and enjoy some time at the beach! Highly recommend. Be sure to ask for Teo as your guide!
TEO was wonderful, full of energy. It was a very hot day, so we did stop for water every so often. He was engaged with the group effectively!! Showed us beautiful views!!
Teo was kind, thoughtful, funny and informative. He knew the history well and took great care of us. I would definitely recommend him as a tour guide.
Tour to TARRAGONA was informative. When we got to Sitges, we were dropped off at the boardwalk to eat lunch and told to explore. A church was pointed out in the distance. The guide would meet us back at the same place, in 90 minutes, to drive back to our hotel. 🤔
We had a fabulous time visiting Tarragona and Sitges with our guide Eduardo. He was knowledgeable, informative and a great driver. His great personality made our tour so much fun. We felt like a good friend was showing us the sights. We hope to see him again. If you’re looking to see gorgeous vistas with a guide who will add to your experience, request Eduardo. You will not be disappointed. You will have a great tour and have the bonus of having spent time with Eduardo.
Tarragona and Stiges were a beautiful day outside of Barcelona and we couldn't have asked for a better guide. TEO was very knowledgeable and gave us great historical information. He was very kind, funny and attentive as well. He made everyone feel at home and the special pick-up & drop-,off made it so much easier. Both towns were beautiful, clean and historic. The architecture, history and beautiful sea was my favorite.
We had an amazing experience with our guide Teo! The day flew by but we were also never rushed. Tarragona and the journey there was very interesting as we saw the progression of the rock quarry, Roman aquifer, then all of the Roman ruins. Later in Sitegs we had a refreshing lunch and swim. The final views and drive along the coast were the cherry on top, super sweet. Finally on the drive back we talked about Spanish music and learned more about flamenco. 1000000/10!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Teo Ventura. He took us to sites that felt like they were off the beaten path as well as those that we were hoping to see. He was very knowledgable about the two towns we visited. We loved being introduced to some great local music as well. Would definitely recommend requesting him as a guide. He also offered us many ideas of places to eat and visit in the city!
The experience was amazing and Eduardo - our guide - made it PERFECT !! 5 stars - super knowledgeable and kind . With Him was a different ride ! Highly recommended !! lunch at Sitges …. unforgettable- GRACIAS
We enjoy the scenic view and the tour with Miguel. Nice walk and have a lot of photos taken. Good lunch at beach and good shopping too.we will come back to Barcelona agin.
We went to Tarragona and Sitges with Miquel. He is an excellent guide with all round information on the history and current milieu of the 2 places of interest. His sense of humour makes our tour such an enjoyable experience We highly recommend Miquel to anyone who wants to experience Barcelona and its surrounding cities to the fullest
The itinerary was excellent. Tour guide, Maguel, was friendly, jovial and detailed in his articulation of the places we visited.
Our guide Teo, was exceptional. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. I would definitely recommend the tour to Tarragona. Steph SA
Our guide Teo is very knowledgeable. We loved the sites he showed us. The views are amazing. We took a lot nice photos.
Teo was the best guide we have ever had. I don’t know where to begin. From the minute he picked up our family of 4 with kids aged 8 and 13, he immediately started getting to know our 13-year old, and they had an immediate report which set the stage perfectly for the trip ahead. We had multiple stops in Taragona and at each one, Teo’s breadth of knowledge was only matched by his incredible ease at making the history accessible and understandable to our kids and fascinating for the adults. He was just so at ease - a natural people person and an incredible gift for this tour. This was one of the hottest days of the year (it felt like it at least) and he showed such kindness to my 8-year old daughter, helping her sunscreen, keeping her as part of the group, even singing Taylor Swift songs with her in the car (sorry, Teo!). Our last major stop was Sitges, and the water there could be one of the seven wonders of the world. Teo dropped us at the perfect stretch of beach that was not too crowded and where the water was the best beach experience we ever had. You could tell how much joy Teo has in showing others his city and surrounding areas, but also how he is just a wonderful person who would probably make any tour more engaging.
This is the second tour with Reuben. He has great knowledge, easy to be with and keeps us entertained. We will ask for Reuben again when we return to Spain.
Ivan is a great tour guide! His driving was very good to start with; he really paid attention to the road and that is important to me. He really listened to our questions and gave us great details while we were walking around both areas. He also paid attention to how each one of us was doing on the trip and kept everyone engaged. Ivan also had great recommendations for lunch as well. This was helpful considering it was a holiday. He even tried several times to get us reservations at restaurants, but was not able to do so because of how busy the areas were. His love for his job and the area is wonderful to see! We had a wonderful day with Ivan.
Our guide/driver Teo is GREAT!!! He made us all feel comfortable and accommodated us professionally and with a personal touch. Everyone in group got along real well and the sightseeing tour was informative and enjoyable. We’ll recommend this tour to friends and family especially Teo. Thank you for making our trip an excellent one!!!! Great job Teo.
Teo was a great tour guide and very attentive. He shared a lot of information, tips, and more about Catalan culture. Tarrangona was a hidden gem and we enjoyed it a lot. We also had fun learning about music from him. He was punctual and easy going which made it more enjoyable despite the colder weather. I would recommend to all my friends and family!
This tour is a must. Get away from the typical tours in Barcelona and experience a once in a lifetime event living through time itself. Manuel was an amazing guide full of knowledge that helped us understand the people, the lifestyles, and the culture as a whole. If you get to experience this tour, do it with Manuel. You will not be disappointed.
Our guide Manuel was very friendly, competent, smart and open minded. He knows a lot of the visited places and explained it very well.
You never really know how a tour is going to turn out when you book a full day trip such as this but Manuel, our tour guide, was an awesome one!! He was informative & just overall a fun Guide to spend the day with. He showed up at our hotel on time & dropped us off even though we told him we wanted to walk. He went above & beyond to make this experience unforgettable & we absolutely want him back when we visit Barcelona again for a diffrerent tour, if it’s possible. He is so dedicated & passionate about what he does, & nowadays that’s such a rare thing. Two-thumbs up & highly recommended. Thank you sooo much, Manuel for this experience that’ll last a lifetime. Thankfully, Your friends from Iceland
Everything went perfect, from the pick up at our apartment, the route trip, the planned visits. Our driver and guide were very friendly and helpful. The guide, Manuel was charming, and on top of that he took beautiful photos of the group. It was an exceptional experience, we felt very well treated and cared for.
Our family really enjoyed our day trip to Sitges and Taragona with our guide Nuria! We loved the convenience of hotel pickup and the comfort of a private vehicle. Nuria was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Taragona, Catalonia and Sitges and was very considerate of our comfort and interests. It was a very packed day and I don’t think I would do both of these in one day. It’s hard to go to the beach and then tour another city with ease. I was very surprised that there were no dressing rooms or bathrooms available to change our clothes. The beach was very crowded and if I would do it again I would leave this out. We did love being at the sea and seeing the beauty but we would not actually spend time at the beach. Thank you Nuria for a very enjoyable and interesting day!
The whole trip was very interesting. Our guide Vincente was so informative answered all our questions and was very friendly. The day ended with a great late relaxing lunch which we enjoyed with other members of the group.Would highly recommend this tour, lots of walking but no problem if your fit.
The tour was great! My tour guide Nura was a very good driver and a great historical expert for the area. She showed several Roman historical sites, informed me of great local food, and showed a great drive home to BCN along the coastline. I highly recommend the tour, and Nura!
Our guide, Arnau led us on a wonderful day of history, architecture, culture and cuisine as we toured Tarragona and Sitges. There is something for everyone in your family in this tour. Our family gives it 5 stars!
Kurt was our guide and he knew a lot of the history of Catalonia and Spain. I would highly recommend this tour. We learned a lot from Kurt which was great.
We visited a Roman quary (world heritage site), walked across a Roman Aquaduct, visited a Roman City on the Med (Tarragona - world heritage site), stood under a Roman Arch (world heritage site) and visited Sitges. This trip is a must!
Many thanks to Arnau & Luis for a friendly, an exceptional experience during our tour of Tarragona & Sitges The tour was quite easily paced and relaxed but we still covered everything thanks to Arnau’s exceptional guiding skills Overall it was an awesome and interactive experience- we got to learn a lot And we felt very safe during the drive

It has been a very nice experience, although the rain on the way from Navarre to Tarragona allowed us to imagine that it would accompany us all day, it was not!, the days favored us with lots of sunshine and pleasant weather. Clean and beautiful beaches. Port Ventura Park and FerrariLand UUUUUF mega recommended if you like strong emotions and adrenaline. in Barcelona all very friendly people, clean beach and a Mood of happiness. Yes, of course I will, I loved the beaches and the city. Recommendations to visit Tarragona beach and Barceloneta, if you would like to have a place close to the water arrives very early because they take care. For a walk if you don't like the sweltering sun, be prepared with an umbrella or hat and water bottle.
Miquel (the guide) was very nice, punctual and explained great throughout the tour of Tarragona and Sitges. Highly recommended 10/10
Our guide Manuel very attentive, knew very well the history of the places of interest. We take a lot of family photos and recommend activities to do. We definitely recommend the Tour with Manuel.
