Great experiance from the beginning to the end. Easy to reserve, easy to find the meeting point and real fun experiance. Alfonso was our guide and Gabriella was working on tapas and helping with everything in the back. Both spoke excellent English and were fabulous cooks. It was a hands on experiance. We made sangria and cooked paella from the beginning to the end. There were tapas and Alfonso whipped up a quick almond cake. Everything was delicious. The people participating were friendly and I had a great time. There were three couples in my group, one with a mother, and I was solo. 8 people total. Thank you Alfonso and Gabriella!

We had a great time. Our Chef was friendly and educational. We had plenty to eat and thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Amazing experience. . So much fun!! The visit to the market then the cooking class and finally eating the paella was fantastic!! Enjoyed it immensely!
This was an amazing experience. Gabbi was so kind and gave us such great insight about the food, the process and the history. Highly recommend private tour if you can. Very one on one instruction and a fun trip to the market to buy our seafood in Barcelona.
This was so fun. Taya was a fantastic host
Andres was excellent and his soux chef Nestor helped us make perfectly cooked paella, great atmosphere and community
Gabriela was an amazing guide and teacher. She was excellent in Spanish and English; very knowledgeable and passionate about cuisine. She took her time to explain methods, history, and made the experience enjoyable and welcoming. Would not hesitate to book another class with her - you’re in for a treat.
Andy and Al were SO good to us as a group!! We would do it again and certainly recommend it to friends as a “must do” while in Barcelona.
Excellent and fun. Great way to top off our visit to Portugal and Spain!
Yaya was a great instructor , and made the entire experience 5 star
Gabby and Ianto were marvelous! Great experience, delicious food, wonderful experience!
It was great Alberto and Hugo where very good instructors, informative and fun. Really enjoyed the market tour and the one on one touch
We had a great time with Gabby! Great chef, great instructor. We had a great time! The paella was really good as well!
It was so much fun. We had a great group and a wonderful night. We didn’t get a market visit unfortunately because the market isn’t open on a Sunday. Would have liked to know that before booking but it was still excellent.
The cooking class was truly awesome. The only down side is the market is closed on Sundays so we didn’t get to experience it. But being able to make our own paella from start to finish was so much fun. The cooking techniques, tips, and tricks were invaluable. We met a couple on our cruise that raved about the paella class they took prior to leaving. We signed up for our free day in Barcelona and don’t regret it. Alberto was our amazing instructor. He was patient, very knowledgeable and super engaged, and made some amazing Sangria. We would recommend this class to anyone coming to Barcelona.
This was a great adventure. We always try to find something to do with a local flair and this did not disappoint at all. The making of Paella was really fun. Cleaning squid, Langostino, clams, and mussels was very interesting and fun. Made a simple tasty dessert. All recipes are included and there is more food leftover than you will imagine.
Absolutely incredible! I have celiac disease and the entire crew was so careful with my allergy, Yaya made sure everything was gluten free for me and safe! Even the dessert which was a cake was gluten free!
This class was the best! We have made paella before but not like this! Gabi and Hugo were very accomodating with my food allergies and helped me to make a successful paella that I will make when I get home. Thank you so much!
Our private cooking class was amazing. Our chef Ianto was a great guy. He accommodated our personal tastes excellently and adapted what we cooked without a problem. The whole evening was very enjoyable and we learned a lot. We will definitely cook the paella and the cake at home. I would highly recommend this cooking experience to everyone
What a lovely evening with Ianto! We started at the Sant Josep Mercat Boqueria shopping for squid, mussels, clams, and langostinos (prawns). Ianto taught us how to select the freshest seafood. We went back to the lab and prepared the seafood following his careful and humorous instruction. We learned proper knife technique and how to remove the intestine without butterflying the langostinos. By the end of the evening we had a delicious meal that we had helped prepare and we had made a new friend. This experience was so much fun and educational. Ianto is a great teacher - so engaging and knowledgeable. A highly recommended experience!
The Paella Cooking class was amazing! The Chef helped us from visiting a local open air market to how to pick out the freshest seafoods for our recipe! In the kitchen he guided us step-by-step to create the tastiest Paella ever! We also made our own Sangria and enjoyed a great meal with the participants in our group! Fun for the whole family! Don’t miss this super special experience.
Fantastic cooking class with our chef Alberto. We learned a lot about the history of Pealla and the prep involved as well. It was a great hands-on experience. We did not visit the Market only because the market was closed for the holiday.
Andres & Gabriela were amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed this paella & sangria making experience! The historical anecdotes, comraderie with other participants & food was unforgettable! Would highly recommend!
We had such a fun time with Simon! We started by taking a short walk to the market, where we selected the fresh seafood for our paella. After we returned, Simon guided us through the process of cleaning and preparing the seafood, and then assembling and cooking the paella. While the paella was cooking, we made an delicious almond cake with orange zest. Simon was GREAT - he was informative and fun. I recommend this adventure wholeheartedly!
This was an absolutely wonderful experience. We had so much fun shopping at the market and making our seafood paella. Our chef/instructor Simon was so knowledgeable and very patient while teaching the group. He answered everyone’s questions and still managed to supervise us making a fabulous dinner. His co-chef Ianot was also exceptional. My husband does not like seafood and they were very kind to him and made him feel included with a chicken paella. Ianot taught my husband how to make a rose garnish out of the skin of a tomato. 💗. We also made our own sangria. This was the highlight of our trip to Barcelona. I highly recommend this group cooking class.
Excellent, would recommend.
Maria was absolutely exceptional—talented, warm, knowledgeable, and so wonderfully cultured. We learned so much about Spanish food and traditions, and the entire experience felt authentic, fun, and unforgettable. Our 8-year-old absolutely loved it, which says everything. One of our favorite family memories from Spain—highly recommend!
Chef Maria and Chef Kim were the best! We had so much fun with the group! Maria made sure we were learning while we cooked! She was very thorough! It was the best experience learning to cook paella and sangria!
This was a wonderful experience! Never felt rushed from the market, prep and eating. Learned a lot and loved all those that were in the class. The Chef, Intao and Simon, were fantastic!
What an amazing special experience. Andres and Nestor are great chefs and I learned so much about paella and the catalonia food culture. The food was amazing and there were lots of laughs. Such an amazing experience.
The experience was excellent. The market visit was very informative giving tips on how to insure that you are getting the freshest seafood. In the class we learned to clean and prepare squid, shrimp, clams, mussels and chicken. We were shown how and then we had a chance to practice what we learned. We added the ingredients stirred added spices then we feasted on our paella. We also learned to make sangria to enjoy with our meal Our chef leaders Maria and Kim were outstanding!!
What a PHENOMENAL experience!! Maria was awesome...engaging, informative, patient in her instruction and support of our involvement in the production of our own paella!! Maria introduced us to the St Josep Boqueria, helped us understand how to shop for the best of the right ingredients for our seafood paella (actually "arroz del señorito"). Maria shared the history behind terminology and the process of producing our paella...so much to absorb! We also prepared our own sangria with her guidance...definitely tasty and a lot of fun. This was absolutely a 5-star experience and we highly recommend it to anyone with a few hours to devote to it. Guaranteed to come away both full and fulfilled!!
Great food experience! We had great sangria, paella and almost cake. And along the way we learned about selecting seafood, gutted a squid, and helped make the paella and cake. Fun evening and great food! Do it!!!
Our host Mateo was amazing. He made a whole experience extremely fun and memorable. We would do it again! Highly recommended!
The whole experience was wonderful!! A lot of interaction and hands on preparation. The food was great!
This was an excellent experience and we loved every minute! Gabriel was wonderful. Highly recommend this !
This experience was fun, educational and immersive. The food was delicious and I highly recommend if you are looking for an education on traditional Spanish cuisine.
Gabriel was a lovely host and has so much passion for his business. We learned a lot and had good conversations while doing so!
This was an amazing experience and Nestor was awesome. Our family of five were treated to an unforgettable tour of the marketplace, answering all of our questions along the way and while we were there. For example, we learned how to select shellfish for cooking. While we waited for Nestor to buy our fresh ingredients, he patiently waited while we ate oysters sea urchin, directing us to his favorite vendors. Them back in the kitchen, we made Sangria with non alcoholic options for my youngest, and then the cooking began. He showed us how to prep the vegetables and seafood, and walked us through, step-by-step on how to make paella. He was so good with the kids. The paella came out amazing, with more than enough for the 5 of us, the Sangria was delicious, and Nestor was the star of the show. I highly recommend Nestor for your private family paella-cooking experience.
Wow! What a fun experience. Maria was phenomenal. We learnt so much and the meal was delicious! It included lots of sangria plus tapas plus paella and dessert. Easily one of our most memorable experiences of the trip. Very easy to book and great directions- we did a private class which was worth the price but the group class in the room next door was also super hands on and looked very fun. This would also be fun to do with kids, starting at about age 10. Can't recommend highly enough.
This was my family’s favorite activity of our trip. Highly recommend this private cooking class and will definitely do it again the next time we visit Barcelona.
Private tour with the chef did not disappoint! It was a treat to have Gabriel’s time and attention. Highly recommend for a personalized experience. Can’t wait to make paella at home!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Ultimate Paella & Sangria Cooking Class! Our experience with GAB was absolutely amazing! Mateo and Marie were the best hosts and teachers — warm, fun, and full of great energy. They made the entire cooking class enjoyable from start to finish. We learned how to pick fresh seafood at the market de La Boqueria (amazing), make authentic sangria and paella, and both turned out delicious! The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, perfect for meeting new people and learning about Spanish culture. If you’re visiting Barcelona, this class is a must-do! You’ll leave full, happy, and with wonderful memories. 🍷🇪🇸🥘 www.gastronomicartsbarcelona.com
This was the highlight of our time in Barcelona. Gabriel was such a great teacher. He was kind and informative. We made paella from scratch after our visit to the market along with sangria and almond cake. This was our dinner - and it could not have been better. I highly recommend.
My family and I took the private market/paella class and it was fantastic! Our instructor, Hugo, was informative, patient, & an amazing chef! All around, a wonderful experience!
Our class and visit to the market were delightful. We were greeted with with and treated royally. Hugo and Gigi were very informative and the resulting paella and sangria were delicious. The market visit was just long enough to acquire what we needed for our meal prep but I would recommend the market tour as the variety was tremendously tempting. Hugo’s instructions and guidance during the preparations were funny and well understood. Hands down a great experience and a bargain for the price.
We had the best time. Entertaining, super fun and knowledgeable. Highly recommended it, so glad we picked this Paella experience!! 5 stars!!
This was the most wonderful experience. I can’t say enough great things about this place and the people. Maria was the best guide and chef and made us feel like family. This is a must for any trip to Barcelona.
The paella cooking class was phenomenal! The market tour and walk around Las Ramblas was a bit disappointing… I would have preferred more time cooking (sangria + tapas + paella + dessert) and skipped the market.
I absolutely loved this private cooking class it was one of the highlights of my time in Barcelona. Chef Rehmat was so warm, welcoming, and accommodating, and she instantly made me feel comfortable. Her depth of knowledge, not just about cooking but also about culture and traditions, made the whole experience truly special and memorable. We prepared paella, non alcoholic sangria (as per our request) , and Santiago cake, and every step was explained so clearly that cooking felt easy, fun, and safe, even for someone without much experience in the kitchen. The flavors turned out incredible, and it felt so rewarding to enjoy the dishes we made together. What really stood out was the atmosphere it wasn’t just a class, but a unique and personal experience. The ambiance was cozy, authentic, and full of laughter. It felt like cooking with a friend who happens to be an amazing chef. I would highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Barcelona. It’s the perfect way to learn, enjoy, and create beautiful memories through food. Truly unforgettable!
