Drive from Barcelona to Girona (70 minutes). See the column of the lion and the outside of Sant Feliu church where the legend of 'Sant Narcis and the flies' emerges and get details about Girona's local heroes Sant Narcis and Sant Feliu (20 minutes).
From the church of Saint Feliu we start a walk to the monasteries of Sant Pere Galligants and the square of the judges, where we see some of the filming locations of Game of Thrones. From here we cross walk along the city walls heading towards the cathedral.
After crossing the city gates, we come to the cathedral of Santa María, former Roman temple and important filming location for Game of Thrones. Walk of the Jewish Quarter down to Pujada de San Domenech.
We cross the Onyar river and see the colourful houses built along the riverside. This is the compulsory selfie location.
Drive to the medieval village of Pals (40 minutes) where you have the opportunity to eat unforgettable rice and seafood dishes. After lunch we have a walk of the marvellous historical center with its fortress, the church of Sant Pere and the tower of the hours.
Time to relax and to enjoy the amazing landscapes of Costa Brava and the Mediterranean charms of former fishing village Calella de Palafrugell. Feel free to swim in crystal clear water when the temperatures allow it.

Andre is so so knowledgeable on all subjects. He was like a walking Wikipedia and taught us not only things about the sights but current events, world history, fashion and so much more. He is very kind. And we enjoyed the places he showed us very much. Know that the tour doesn’t include entry to the churches in Girona but getting the history from outside. There was 40 min of free time. Tour from 8:30am-7pm and is a very leisurely pace.
So many beautiful places to see and learn about - loved every minute and Andre was the perfect guide! Thank you for a wonderful day!!
We had a great, full day with Andre. He arrived at 8:30 AM and kindly dropped us to our dinner restaurant at 8:00 PM! During our drive to Girona, Andre provided a detailed history lesson of the region, conflicts, and power struggles that he then referenced throughout the day. Girona and Pals were scenic and interesting. Short time in Costa Brava, which was stunning. Andre was flexible, let him know your interests. Thank you Andre.
Andre was awesome, calm and knowledgeable. We had a great time touring around Girona and the Cataluna coast. From music, to photography, to social media, to tourism, to football to history we pretty much covered everything. Ah, yes, we also stopped at local cafes and fantastic ‘Arroz’ restaurant where we had delicious lunch. If you are looking for a day-trip from Barcelona don’t look elsewhere - Andre got you covered! As a great ‘foodie’ he also gave us excellent recommendations in Barcelona.
Andre was punctual and friendly. He is knowledgeable in the history of the places that he brings us to. Had a relaxed breakfast and lunch. Tour was almost 11 hrs by the time we get back to the hotel.
Guide spoke English and did a good job showing us around. We were picked up from the hotel at 8:30am and got back at 6pm. Good information. We saw the places where Game Of Throne scenes were filmed. Over all good experience and value. I would highly recommend it.
My husband and I really enjoyed our full-day tour to Girona, Pals, and Palsfugell with André. Communication with André before the tour was excellent, pick-up at our hotel was prompt, and his SUV was very comfortable. On the drive to Girona, André gave us lots of information about the history of Barcelona and of Catalonia. When we arrived at Girona, we first stopped at a café for cappuccinos, and then started the walking tour of the historical part of the city. André showed us the important sites, and explained the historical importance. He also had video clips from the Game of Thrones, showing the exact spots where scenes from the series were filmed. After Girona, we drove to Pals, where we first had lunch. We enjoyed the lunch special of salad, a seafood rice casserole (like paella), a dessert, and a drink. After lunch, André gave us a walking tour of the charming medieval town. Afterwards, we drove to the seaside town of Palafugell where my husband and I enjoyed free time exploring the beach area. André is exceptionally knowledgeable about the history of Barcelona, of the Catalonia region, of the places we visited, and of the world in general. He also talked to us about contemporary life in Barcelona today and in the towns we visited. It was wonderful to spend the day with such a knowledgeable local resident!
Andre' was very knowledgeable of the area and pleasant to be with. I would use him again to visit other areas that he gives tours for.

Our guide told us we were only going to Girona and not to Costa Brava even though that’s the tour we booked. Instead of telling us about the area as we drive from Barcelona he spent the whole ride discussing current politics. We tried to redirect the conversation several times unsuccessfully. He dropped us off at a cafe while he parked the car. When he got to the cafe he told us he couldn’t continue the tour because he had car trouble. He walked us around the city for an hour and then left us to find our own way back. Very disappointing and not as advertised.
Our family of 4 (two kids 7 & 9) really enjoyed this tour! Andre's vehicle was very clean. He provided great spots to stop for coffee/snack and lunch. Andre was extremely informative and had in-depth knowledge of almost every topic! Although we enjoyed all three areas, both areas in Costa Brava were absolutely incredible! I recommend this tour for anyone that enjoys -history -beautiful and historic buildings -beach towns and the beach!

Learned so much on a tour with Andre, he is full of knowledge and had so much to share about local and broader European history, putting the sights and beautiful towns in context. Spent a lot of time in Girona, some time walking Pals (as well as delicious local rice-based lunch there) and a quick stop to see the beauty of Calella de Palafrugell. Didn't feel rushed and Andre was also great about offering to take family pics with his professional eye which was a nice bonus as we don't often get pics of all of us while traveling.

This was a fantastic day trip from busy Barcelona into the Catalonia countryside. The trip was paced just right, unlike others which seemed to try to pack too much into one day. Historic Girona, the upscale agrarian village of Pals and the seaside town of Palafrugell on the costa brava coastline were all beautiful in different ways. Andre our guide was very friendly and well informed and took great care of us — in fact his astonishing knowledge of European history was unlike any other guide we’ve had and made for some very interesting conversations. An very memorable and satisfying addition to a trip to Barcelona

We booked a private tour with Andre, the owner of this company. For a change, we wanted to try a more personal guided tour with just our family. Andre is a very interesting person. He is half Japanese and half German and he has a very interesting personality. Andre is very knowledgeable about Barcelona and the places we visited. He knows his history inside out and was able to answer all our questions about Girona and where the scenes of Game of Thrones were filmed. It was interesting walking through the same grounds where they filmed the scenes of the Walk of Shame, the fight scenes of Arya Stark and the Wight, and the steps of the Sept of Baelor where they tried to challenge the High Septon to free Margery Tyrell. Andre played the video clips where each scene was filmed. We also visited and old city of Pals and ended the tour at Costa Brava. Costa Brava is a beautiful seaside town with clear blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. It was Winter season and most of the hotels were closed. Nonetheless, it was nice to walk by the beach until sunset. I would like to commend Andre for his wonderful tour. This hardworking man works almost 13 hours a day, 7 days a week. Highly recommend this tour.

Andre was a great guide! He is VERY knowledgeable on a broad range of subjects. We really enjoyed learning about the history of Catalonia and Europe throughout the day. One of us did not watch GOT so really appreciated that he had an iPad with the scenes! We had a great lunch. Ending the day at the seaside Palafrugell was amazing.
Sights were great. Guide not. He had a lot of knowledge about everything but has a superior attitude and made us feel inferior at times. Everything was black and white with no grey. It took a few days to shake the experience The day after the we had a tour with different company and guide and driver. After spending a few hours with them and having a completely different experience we discussed some of the events/conversations we had during this tour. The driver and guide were shocked. Which made us feel validated in our feelings. For the rest of our 2 week vacation we had several other tours and they all were enjoyable……thank god

Tour was a great experience. Andre was able to modify the itinerary to accommodate my young son. He arrived early and then asked us if we wanted to see the coast or Girona first. Andre is very knowledgeable with loads of guiding experience in the area.

Andre is a whirlwind of knowledge and history that will keep you engaged in every moment of your journey through Girona and Costa Brava. Between both destinations, Andre took us on a side trip to Pal, a medieval city that was a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of tourists in Girona. We finished the trip on a beach in Costa Brava with a glass of sangria sitting out on the sand and gazing out over the sea. What makes the trip special is that Andre is very interested that you understand the history of the Catalonian region and not just which scene of Game of Thrones was filmed here or there. Ultimately though, Andre wants you to have a good time and is flexible on whatever you want to do. Highly recommend.
André was a fantastic guide. He picked us up and dropped us off directly from our hotel. He took us to some really cool places. Our favorite part was that this was not like most tours. In other tour experiences, the guide is typically on more of a talk track, and almost rehearses a story. However, André's tour is much more of a two-way conversation. He can certainly recite the historical facts while touring, but we were also able to ask a lot of questions and get answers with real context. It was less like reading a history book, and more like having a dialogue. Bonus: He took us to the best paella we had on the whole trip!
We could’ve stayed another night, but I had to head back to the city. Costa Brava (off-season) was gorgeous. Excellent Day with André. He had a few special sites and everything was beautiful!

There is nothing like a private tour, which my husband and I realized after this experience! Girona and Costa Brava are a must-see outside the Barcelona City center. These areas are well-preserved, clean, charming, and truly beautiful! Our tour guide, Andre, took us out to the different cities (Girona (GOT), Pals, and Calella de Parafrugell) which were a pleasure to see, each easily capturing our hearts! Andre knows the history of the places where he took us which was very important to us! He treated us as good friends, which greatly impacted the overall experience! The tour was well-organized and stress-free. The last part of the tour, which included private time for my husband and me to explore Calella (a coastal town) and take pictures right in time for sunset was truly a great way to end the day!
