Your guide will pick you up at your hotel or apartment in Barcelona. Please make sure to give us your exact address when booking. Once the pick-up is completed, head north towards the Costa Brava.
On the way, enjoy panoramic views and stop at viewpoints to photograph a landscape where bright green hills meet the turquoise blue of the sea. Your first stop is Empúries, an ancient city on the Mediterranean coast and one of the most important archaeological sites in Spain. Discover the remains of its Greek and Roman towns and walk among their streets, houses, temples and markets to see how these people once lived.
Continue to Sant Martí d’Empúries, a small medieval village built next to what was once one of the most important ports of the Roman Empire, with its preserved walls and narrow, picturesque alleys.
Arrive in L’Estartit, a seaside town at the foot of the Montgrí massif, facing the Medes Islands just offshore. From its harbour, board your glass-bottom boat for the ride out to the islands.
Sail around the Medes Islands, a small archipelago of seven islets that forms part of the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park. Through the boat’s glass bottom, discover the rich marine life of one of the most important marine reserves in the western Mediterranean. Before heading back, take a swim in the crystal-clear waters of a Mediterranean cove, surrounded by nature.
Our guide and drivers were excellent. Ours was a large family group and everyone enjoyed the sightseeing, boat ride and quiet extra time on the beaches ( yes two different beaches!) the boat was a thrill! Our guide Vincent was very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended to him and this tour!
Noelia was an excellent guide. We opted to spend more time at the different beaches and swimming. It was a perfect family day instead of so much time in tours that kids don’t enjoy. We had lunch a great spot, enjoyed a cappuccino in a cute town and the kids just loved swimming in the gulf of roses
Weather can have quite an impact . Our boat trip was half hour short. Lunch was way too short . Had a chance to individualize!

My daughter and I just returned from an incredible day tour in Costa Brava with Vincent and Joaquín. From start to finish, it was such a memorable experience! We visited three breathtaking spots, enjoyed a wonderful boat ride to Tossa de Mar, and ended the day climbing up the castle with the most spectacular views. This was a wonderful day trip for our family of four (two adults, two teens). Gaspar was an excellent guide - one of the best we've ever during our travels. He communicated with us before the excursion to confirm timing, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible, and tracked the weather during our trip to ensure that we could shift activities around as needed. We thought this was the perfect way to get out of Barcelona for a day and explore. Also, the archaeological museum at the ruins, while small, is very impressive.

Excellent day with our guide Ventura. Prompt.early pickup straight from our hotel and a leisurely drive to Empuries with good conversation about the area, the people, and the general culture of the area. We stopped for a coffee at the vintage hotel on the beach at Empuries. Nice and quiet and beautiful. We walked through Empuries.which is really excellent for history.nerds like us. Spanning many phases of history from neolithic the medieval it is so interesting A delicious lunch by the seaside and quick drive to L'Estartit for the boat trip. I was a beautiful day on the water. The marine park is gorgeous and there is a lot of marine life to see. We had an excellent day and covered a lot of ground. Ventura was an excellent host and took care of everything. Even after all the activities we ended the trip feeling relaxed and ready to go out. This is an excellent tour to get outside of Barcelona and see Costa Brava area Definitely recommend
Our guide, Marcel, was wonderful, providing us with a memorable experience despite weather issues on the water. The boat part of the tour was canceled, and Marcel seamlessly pivoted and provided us with additional sites to visit while accommodating everyone's particular requests.
We had a wonderful, relaxing day exploring the ruins and the adjacent towns and an excellent lunch across from the harbor. It was pretty windy so we opted not to do the boat ride but Ventura did an great job showing us the area.

Marcel is an amazing tour guide. I learned so much about the geographical history of Catalonia as well as contemporary knowledge about landmarks and famous people/places. It was the perfect combination of hanging out at the beach and touring different villages/communities. The food and beach in Tossa incredible and we stayed for the perfect amount of time. My family & I had a wonderful day tour to Costa Brava from Barcelona with Marcel as our driver & guide. Marcel was full of interesting trivia & information about Costa Brava & very flexible with adjusting time spent in each location. Highly recommend doing this day tour with him specially if you have a big family with elderly people travelling with you. Nice to have a private car taking you around at your desired pace. This is a hard review to write. The site was spectacular and I’ve been to many places of antiquity. The tour wasn’t much of a tour. Our guide was a wonderful guy and we had a great conversation going out there. But he didn’t say much about the history and when there he pretty much bought our ticket and we had an audio guide. The audio was great and we could control it - but this has happened to be twice recently: I pay a lot for what is effectively a kind driver. So be prepared for that. Also the museum is under renovation and no one mentioned it. Finally while we chose not to do the boat tour it was available for certain hours and it would have been hard to see the site and get to any boat but the 4:00. Anyhow we had a great day and our guide was very kind. Just a heads up.
I have made countless trips to European countries the last 20 years. There were often for business and so too short for me to take some time to tour the cities that I visited. This time I chanced upon an all-girls trip with my daughter to costa brava barcelona based on the recommendation from TripAdvisor. We were accompanied by Marcel Simon who not just was punctual in picking us up at the doorstep of our hotel, drove us there and took us along but also was a wonderful tour host that filled us with comprehensive details of the history of Barcelona and the nooks and crooks of all the lovely places we visited that day. The car was clean and spacious for the two of us and the ride was smooth. The tour was not too long and not too short, you dont have to walk till you drop at all. Eveything was at the pace that we are used to so that we could enjoy the scenery and fresh air while taking as many lovely photos we can. There was ample time to have fresh succulent seafood lunch and we were safely back home in the city before night fall I hope I can return soon with the whole family and this time maybe Marcel will bring us in a van? Maybe summer ….
