We had a wonderful time with Brendan . His knowledge of history, the area and the cuisine was impressive, but more importantly he brings a soulful appreciation to culture. He delivers an informative, personal and fun experience.

Brendan had us engaged from the minute we met him. He shared with us his journey to Spain and why he loved living here! As we walked around off the beaten path, we learned many interesting facts about our surroundings. The wine tasting was so amazing we ordered a case! I would encourage everyone I know to book this activity with Brendan!
Brendan is a lovely, smart, informative and fun guide. He wanted to be sure we had a great time and got the most out of our visit with him. We had great pastries, learned interesting things about Barcelona and had an exceptional cava and wine tasting. I cannot express how delightful our experience with Brendan was! He’s a gem.
Brendon is an absolute amazing tour guide we loved touring with him. His wealth of knowledge and historical sites he took us were amazing. Not to mention the fabulous pastry we had at a beautiful pastry shop. Also we bought delicious chocolate there. He also took us to a wine shop that we had a cheese and cava and wine tasting at. The owner of the shop Joanne was fabulous as well. Brendon has a lovely personality. It helps as a tour guide.
This was my first private wine tasting experience in Barcelona. I felt I had a great experience, and tried a variety of wines that I've not tried. I am a chocolate and wine lover, and I loved that some of the wine pairings were with chocolate! I would recommend it to those who really enjoy the private experience!
Our wine tasting tour with Brendan and Joan was nothing short of spectacular. Brendan, with his humor and kindness, did more than just guide us through the historical landscapes of Barcelona; he connected us with the vibrant local culture of today. His personal stories of life in Barcelona added a unique and engaging layer to our experience. The wine tasting itself was enhanced by Joan's friendly and engaging approach, making the complexities of wine both understandable and enjoyable. Each glass was paired with interesting anecdotes about the local viticulture, turning each sip into a discovery of flavors. The tour was a perfect blend of education, entertainment, and relaxation. It's an experience I recommend to anyone looking to touch the true heart of Catalan culture.
This was a highlight of our trip to Barcelona. It was so much fun. There was no need to drive to a winery. The experience was brought to us. All our questions were answered. The cheese and chocolates were a great compliment. Brendan organized a wonderful experience and is knowledgeable of history, fun facts and locals
Highly recommend this walking tour and wine tasting. Brendan was personable and friendly. Joan was a knowledgeable and gracious host in his wine cellar.
Was absolutely blown away by this tour. Brendan was our tour guide who showed us around the Roman and Gothic quarters of Barcelona before taking us to visit the oldest candy and pastry shop in the city, and finally to an incredible wine bar: Aguita. At the pastry shop we had the chance to sample fresh candies made from honey and a traditional sugar pastry with a cream filling. The sweets were good, but loved the experience in the shop even more. Next we headed over to the winery where we were greeted with a brief history of Spanish wine dating back to the Romans and the various regions in the area. We were heading to Portugal so we even talked about the Dao and Douro valleys during our time there. The wine shop owner is an amazing host and did a great job selecting two red wines and two cavas for us to try. He paired this with a tasty cheese, meats, and nuts plate. After over an hour of chatting and laughing, he surprised us with handmade chocolates which paired perfectly with the wines. We left with two wines in tow and hope that they soon start distributing to the US!
Brendan was such a knowledgeable and friendly guide. We had so much more than just a wine tasting experience - He showed us around some local historic sites, including Roman ruins and a few historically significant shops before making our way to the wine cellar. He was more than happy to take all of our questions throughout and by the experience it felt like less of a tour, and more of a conversation with a really knowledgeable friend! Highly recommend this experience & we'll definitely be doing more of Brendan's tours next time we're in Barcelona!
Brendan was very knowledgeable and super friendly and fun. He gave us great recommendations for the rest of our trip. So glad we booked with him. Would definitely choose him again.
Brendan was fantastic. His attention to detail was amazing, and this was a one of the wine-tasting tours I was ever on. The sommelier was unbelievable and his knowledge of wine was unmatched. So kind and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed this and would highly recommend it.
Brendan took us on a tour of an area of Barcelona and we enjoyed it so much we asked about taking another tour. Brendan asked us what we would like to see and experience and designed a 2nd tour. We were taken to the original Roman buildings, a bakery, candy shop and a wine shop. We were treated to a number of very good wines and some cheeses at the wine store. The owner spoke very good English. We had a cup of very thick chocolate with churros to dip into it. We visited a very modern market and enjoyed lunch. Along the way Brendan pointed out historic buildings and squares. We hope to go back to Barcelona and tour with Brendan again. He is highly recommended by us.
We were in Barcelona for a five days in late October and did the Taste of Catalan Elegance experience in order to balance traditional sightseeing and trying out traditional wines. We would highly recommend the tour. The guide, Brendan, is very personable and knowledgeable of the history of the Roman Quarter, Barcelona and Catalan culture in general. We got a good insight into the area and he gave us some great recommendations for restaurants and other things to do during our stay. The tasting itself happened in an intimate Catalan cellar which really charmed us. The sommelier, Joan, is very passionate about his profession and the time flew by as we learned about cultivation methods, tasting techniques and life philosophy. The food and wines were all of excellent quality and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Overall, I think the tour is excellent value for money and a great way to learn more about the city while indulging in some great wines. Highly recommended.
Wow! We had a great time at Brendan's wine tasting tour. Came to Barcelona for our annual girls trip and decided to do this tour to get the full Catalan experience. There was so much history, discovering the Gothic neighborhood, its Roman past, and tasting local delicacies was great, we checked out some back alleys with few people. We tasted excellent wine and the pairing was spot on, it included the tastiest cheeses and chocolate truffles. The cellar is beautiful and our sommelier was very knowledgeable, we tasted a wine aged in a clay amphorae, it was a first for a lot of the girls. Would 10/10 recommend!
Brendan is a great guide who makes you feel right at home and like you're hanging out with friends. The wine and food pairings were divine, and I enjoyed learning about the Spanish regions and about the wine making methods. I highly recommend this tour!
We did a tour with Brendan and had a great day out. Brendan gave us a lot of interesting information about Catalunya and got us to taste amazing wines and cava. Would 100% recommend.
This was such a fun wine-tasting session with the added bonus of getting to know the Roman quarter in the Gothic neighborhood and tasting a delicious local pastry! Our guide, Brendan, was engaging and knowledgeable, he showed us some hidden gems in the Roman quarter. He even sent us recommendations after the tour of his favorite spots in Barcelona. Joan, the sommelier, was very knowledgeable and passionate about wines, we learned much about Catalan and Spanish wines in general. I would always recommend a gastronomic tour to anyone coming to a city for the first time - it gets you to see and experience places you wouldn't necessarily on your own. I would highly recommend Brendan and his tours.
First wine tasting ever and it was incredible! While being able to taste some exquisite wine the owner was also able to give us a history lesson on wines throughout Spain that I honestly enjoyed. Thanks again for all the help Brendan, you’re the man!
Very good option for those looking to discover wines and different locations in Spain. The sommelier, Joan, offers different types of wines (cava, white and red) from different regions of Spain, pairing with different types of cheese. It was definitely worth a lot!
