This was truly an incredible experience. Our guide Joan was a great host. Each winery we visited offered something different but were all enjoyable. If you are looking for a day trip from Barcelona and love wine, I recommend booking this experience.

Our tour to Priorat with Ariadna was absolutely perfect in every way. She is a great driver which is relaxing from the start. She is educated in wine and we were able to spend the drive to Priorat in comfort while chatting about wine, the history of the region and geography. We loved the wineries that Kevin selected for our tour. Sagenis Vaque was a delight as we enjoyed local cheeses and hazelnuts while tasting wine at the top of the vineyard. We had a huge lunch at Clos Figueras, closing the day at Scala Dei with a relaxed and educational tasting. We were able to purchase wine both to carry out and ship back to the US. Scheduling the tour was easy over email. Honestly top notch in every way.

I did Wino Tours’ Priorat tour. As a solo traveller doing his WSET level 3, it was exactly what I was looking for. Ahead of the tour day, the communication from Kevin was clear and organised - I felt very much at ease that they had everything under control. On the day, Joan picked me up close to my hotel in a comfortable van. He was very personable and clearly knows the region and its wine intimately. It was great to hear that he grew up in the wine industry, and it added a great deal of authority to his expertise. He’s by far one of the most enjoyable guides I’ve travelled with. We went to 3 wineries, all with very distinct personalities and expressions of the region - the first and third were absolute stand-outs, and it made me appreciate Priorat wine a lot more than when I started. We got the opportunity to walk through some of the vines to get a real sense of the terroir - truly unique, and it helped add to the story of why the region’s wine tastes like it does. Perfect WSET moment. Lunch at Clos Figueras was nothing special. The food was good, but the wine tasting here was not as sophisticated as at the other two wineries. All in all, an incredibly enjoyable day, made extra special by the lovely Joan.

We went on this tour with Ivan and it was AMAZING from beginning to end!! He picked us up from our hotel and took us to 3 very different Priorat wineries (for wine, not sparkling/cava) and we even had the opportunity to do one of our 3 wine tastings in the mountains! It was fun, interesting, entertaining and genuinely authentic. All in all, a memorable experience!! So if you have the chance, do not hesitate to book it! Also, they run it in small groups (8 ppl max), and we were only 3 people in our tour, so no waiting around for others at all! And we had a WONDERFUL meal (starters tapas, main and dessert) in a lovely restaurant in the mountain (had AC, ok toilets, and great inside and outside area and views). Big shout out to Ivan, who taught us a lot of things about the priorat wines/region (and other interesting stuff) and drove us from beginning to end of this tour, and also to Jordi, who drove us along the mountain and who was one of the funniest guys we've ever met and super knowledgeable about wines and everything else too!! Btw there was AC everywhere they took us (including the car), and everyone in this tour, including the people in the wineries (but specially Ivan and Jordi) speaks great English (and obviously, Spanish and Catalan too)! Muchas gracias Ivan, Jordi and everyone else that made this tour/trip really special!!!

Our guide and driver, Joan, picked us up a short distance from our hotel and drove us to Priorat for a full day tour that included three fantastic tours and tastings. I had requested visiting a specific winery and requested that we have lunch in a vineyard. My requests were accommodated by Ivan and Kevin via kind, friendly and quick email correspondence. Joan was very knowledgeable about the area and the wines. We had a great time discussing the area history and wine making throughout the drive. We had a wonderful day. My boyfriend and I booked a private wine tour to the Priorat region from Barcelona, and it was hands-down the highlight of our time in Spain. If you are considering booking this, do not hesitate. Our tour guide, Joan, was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about the region's unique terrior and history, making the entire day feel like a VIP experience. The itinerary was absolutely flawless. We visited some of the region's absolute best wineries, including a stunning tasting on a hillside vineyard at Mas Martinet and a spectacular lunch at Clos Figueras. A major highlight was also the amazing tour of the centuries-old monastery at Scala Dei, which added such a rich layer of history to the day, followed by our final tasting. Ivan was such a fantastic guide. So knowledgeable and friendly! Ariana, who accompanied us on this trip, was also amazing. Their knowledge of the wines really helped add enjoyment to the amazing scenery and wonderful wines.

Thoroughly enjoyed our day with Ivan. The wineries he selected met our hopes perfectly. His lunch selection was also a real pleasure. There was nothing i would change with the day we enjoyed. My wife also points out his driving was very safe, and put her at ease. When we next visit the Priorat, we will definately plan on using Ivan's services again.

We took the Priorat Tour as a couple on March 17, 2026. Possibly because this was an off-season tour, the company was very accommodating in modifying and tailoring the experience to our preferences and needs. We had a great time and learned a lot! We have some formal wine education and have previously toured wine regions in France, Italy, and Portugal. This was our first meaningful and immersive foray into Spanish wines. As we were visiting Catalonia and Barcelona for a few days, we thought it would be a great opportunity to begin exploring Spanish and Catalan wines. Our prior experience with Spanish wines was mostly limited to classroom exposure to major wine regions and occasional tastings of Tempranillo (mostly Rioja), along with some Cava. We chose Priorat because it is one of the two top wine regions in Spain—the only two with DOCa classification (DOQ in Catalan), the other being Rioja. In hindsight, it was an excellent choice, as was selecting this tour company. Our guide, Joan, was excellent. He is not only passionate about Catalan wines and their connection to local cuisine and culture, but also highly knowledgeable about wine in general. He is deeply connected to the wine industry across Catalonia and stays up to date on local trends and developments. Priorat is not very close to Barcelona, and the drive was about 1.5 hours each way, passing through other regions such as Penedès, the home of Cava. The time flew by as we discussed local culture, traditions, geography, wine, and food. Joan also provided great restaurant recommendations in Barcelona and introduced us to an exciting development in sparkling wines from Penedès, Corpinnat. Perhaps we will explore that further on a future visit. We visited three small, family-run wineries in Priorat. Joan had personal relationships with the winemakers, which made for very engaging and insightful conversations. It is remarkable how rugged and arid the terroir is in Priorat, and how much manual labor goes into producing these wines. The wines were of high quality and absolutely delicious. We brought a few bottles back with us for further tasting and would consider ordering more in the future. The tour also included a lunch stop at a delightful mountaintop restaurant that is part of another winery. The food was exquisite, and the wine pairings were excellent. Overall, this was a wonderful day filled with fun, learning, and exceptional wines. If you have more than a casual interest in wine, we highly recommend considering Wino Tours and their offerings.

Ivan coordinated everything and we sat back- drank, had fun, relaxed and enjoyed every second of it! We had the owners of two (Clos Dominic and Cal Pla) and manager of Mas Doix do a tasting with behind the scenes tours! Would recommend to all and not change a single thing! We can’t wait to drink what we brought home and tell all of our friends how special it was! The lunch at Brot’s was truly Michelin quality and a must go back! Don’t chance it with anyone else, but Ivan-he’s the best of the best -smart-reliable and fun!

I have been going to BCN for work for a few years and and try to do some tours each trip. I discovered Ivan on a trip a few years ago. This was the fourth trip. I’ve done with him this time. He picked us up at our hotel in Priorat, which he recommended. It was a great little seven room hotel in Mount Saint highly recommended and well priced. We visited three good wineries and hada fantastic lunch at Brots (Michelin recommended). I really appreciate the work he does to find smaller family owned wineries producing great products. Clos Dominic was fantastic wines and spectacular vineyard, the owner/winemaker did our tasting in the cellar. Very cool. I travel for wine regularly on long conventions etc as an amateur, not an industry professional. Book with confidence. Ivan is great. He can customize for you and speaks perfect English. If you have been to Napa get ready to learn what a ripoff it is and how great the priorat wines are.

I had a fantastic experience with Wino Tours exploring the Priorat wine region just outside Barcelona. Joan was an extremely knowledgeable and friendly tour guide, providing the group with history, details on the geography of the land, stories, fun facts, and great tips for places to eat and drink back in the city - to complement our trip. The wineries each had their own unique story, and we even finished our last tasting in the middle of a vineyard! This was a spectacular day of exploring the wine and food of Priorat, led by Joan, whose training, experience and connections in the wine business made him an amazing resource throughout the journey. The three wineries we visited in Porrera and Gratallops were all impressive operations, though all on different scales. It was amazing to learn, and to see up close, how these small wineries had turned Priorat into a DOQ in a remarkably short time, and to taste wines going back more than two decades. We highly recommend this tour if you have any interest in wine!

We had an excellent tour of Priorat with Joan. We were picked up in Barcelona, and Joan gave us a lot of interesting background on the history and wine of the region. We first stopped at a small family winery, toured the facilities, and did a tasting. The second stop included both lunch and a tasting. Finally, we did a third stop at another small winery. All the wine makers were very informative, and the wine was great. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic tour of three wineries in the Priorat region with our guide, Joan. His selection of wineries gave us a unique glimpse into the character of the region and an opportunity to not only taste the wine, but also interact with the wine makers directly. We did the Group Priorat Tour the last week of October 2025. Ivan was our tour guide and there was just my wife and one lovely woman from Hong Kong. Spent 5 days in Barcelona before boarding a transatlantic cruise back to US. It is definitely a full day tour from Barcelona. The first winery was SANGENÍS I VAQUÉ, a small family winery. The wines were fantastic and Roger was so passionate in explaining the winery and his wines. The second stop was at Clos Figueras. After the tour we had lunch there, which was an additional cost. Definitely get the food pairing with wine. The food was outstanding as were the wines we tasted. Well worth the extra cost. The last stop was Celler Devinssi. We were taken up on to the mountain by 4 wheel drive for our tasting among the vineyards. The weather was phenomenal as were the wines. It was a fabulous way to end the tour and the day. Ivan was extremely knowledgeable about Priorat and its wines and made the whole tour a memorable experience. Didn't know much about Spanish wines before this trip. Purchased bottles from all 3 wineries. If you have an entire day to allocate, I highly recommend this tour if you like tasting great wines. Was well worth the money spent and would definitely go back again."

Ivan battled crummy Barcelona traffic to pick up 8 guests from three different locations. He took us to 3 wineries, each very different from the other. They all stood out in their own way, from the obvious passion of the 7th generation family vineyards/winery, to the wine tasting outside in the middle of the small vineyard, and in between a delicious lunch and wine pairing at a winery. We had fun meeting the other guests on the tour, and came away with a great appreciation of Priorat wines (and a few bottles to wedge into our suitcases.) Ivan also does a tour of the Cava producing area. Based on how well this Priorat tour went, I’m signing up for the Cava tour next time I’m in Barcelona.

Just returned from a wonderful day in the Priorat wine region. A totally fabulous experience starting with the convenient pick up at our Airbnb. Ivan gave us lots of interesting information about the region as we drove to our first stop. The region is absolutely gorgeous. Our first stop was at a winery that has been family owned and operated for 10+ generations. The family pride put into the winery was so inspiring and the current family leader lead our wine tasting! The The buildings were absolutely wonderfully old and authentic and the wine was INCREDIBLE!! Our second stop was at a lovely winery where we had a delicious wine pairing meal. Our final stop was a small winery where we had the loveliest wine tasting outdoors with the most incredible views. We could have stayed there for days just enjoying the scenery with good wine. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough!

Joan was a fabulous host for our Priorat Wine Tour! We did a small group with 5 people and all of the wineries we visited were small boutique wineries and had great hosts (as well as great wine) . Lunch at Clos Figueras was delicious. Joan was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the region, his love for the wine region was very apparent. Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting a wine experience outside Barcelona. Just a note that it is a 2 hour drive there and back on winding roads.

Simply fantastic! Ivan picked us up in Tarragona and we went for a lovely day of wine tasting in the Priorat wine region. The vineyards / cellars visited were diverse and provided a great cross section of the wine available in the region.
