I visited the Paradox Museum in Barcelona hoping to enjoy the optical illusions, but unfortunately, it was a completely overwhelming and disappointing experience. If you or your family members are neurodivergent, have sensory sensitivities, or prefer to avoid screen-heavy activities, I would highly recommend skipping this attraction. [1, 2] Even as an adult wearing both noise-canceling headphones and sunglasses, the sensory overload was too much to handle. The background pop music was incredibly loud and unnecessary, and the lighting was extremely harsh. If the environment had been quieter and darker, I would have loved to linger on a few of the activities, including a very nice puzzle exhibit. The only saving grace regarding the environment was the staff, who were kind enough to let me charge my headphones. [1] Beyond the sensory issues, the museum is heavily reliant on mobile phones. Most exhibits involve taking a photo to see an illusion that you cannot actually experience with your own eyes in the room. Even when an illusion was visible in person, the spaces felt like shallow "photo opportunities." Massive crowds of people queued up just to get the perfect picture, which completely took away from the magic. [1, 2] This setup left my 9-year-old—who does not have a phone—unable to do much of anything independently without me constantly pulling my own phone out. A few non-phone exhibits did exist, but they felt pushed aside and ignored. Do not waste extra money on the "Zero Gravity" experience either. It is purely a photo op and not an actual "experience" in the moment at all. Without a phone, you will miss most of the museum. [1] I have truly enjoyed optical illusions like this before, such as the wonderful displays at the Glasgow Science Centre, but this museum was a massive letdown. It prioritizes social media photos over a genuine, accessible experience. [1]

Very good, not as good as some science museums I've been to. The main downside was that deafeningly loud music was played throughout the museum.
AMAZING 10/10 would come again
It was a fun time, best suited for couples, families, and solo travelers more adept at taking selfies. I'd come back with friends!
The music was terrible and loud; there is no need for music! The place didn't seem professionally produced. The places were dirty and worn-out. No soap in the toilet neither. For this price of tickets the service should be great!
An unforgettable and mind-bending experience! The Museum of Illusions in Barcelona exceeded all my expectations. Every room is creatively designed and full of clever visual tricks that make you question what’s real. It’s interactive, fun, and perfect for taking amazing photos. The staff were friendly and happy to help capture the best shots. Whether you’re visiting with friends, family, or even solo, this place guarantees lots of laughter and surprises. A must-visit attraction in Barcelona!
Excellent visit - 6 year old loves the illusions and interactive nature of the museum. Zero gravity room good fun. Didn’t feel too busy and plenty of time to interact with each exhibit
It was a very interesting experience, with lots of information and Fun included. Brenda was very helpful with everything inside the expedition. The Gravity box and the Piano were very interesting. Totally recommend for couples
Really good. Enjoyed the whole experience. Surprise zero gravity illusion cost €2pp extra but worth it. Took a pre teen and she even cracked a smile So has to be good. We got through in about 45 mins but could easily take longer on each attraction.
Cheap stuff, badly managed, staff unattentive, queues. I should have read some opinions before booking. Skip part of the visit. Later on, our host in town told us about other people having similar horrible experiences.
Cool but I think worth the tickets if on sale. We bought tickets buy an adult get a child free. It was fun and there were cool photo opportunities. I would recommend this more for older kids, the younger kids don’t really get it! The camouflage gear was very faded, some of the installations were run down, but it was cool for pictures and the zero g gravity for €2 was worth it.
Bit boring really - dont think there is much for kids and defo a bit lame for adults - Walked around looked at everything one hour spent. Maybe kids under 12 would enjoy but anybody over i think go to the zoo instead .
Paula, Carolina and Orsee were great at this museum. We had an awesome time and had so much fun. We learned so much about how our brains work and had a great time. We laughed the whole time. Would come back. This is a must see.
Usually, a museum doesn't sound interesting for the average teenager, but this was something different. We visited on a hot summer day in July, and it was nice to be inside for some hours. We booked the tickets online in front of the place with a QR code on a flyer we got from a staff member outside, which saved us some bucks compared to buying tickets inside. It was very nice for all of us to walk from one exhibit to the other one and we had a lot of fun trying out things and taking pictures. It is very interactive, and the staff was also helpful. Guarantee for a great time!
Very amusing! All the activities are surprising, even for teenagers. Last step in the shop was also amazing. Thanks to Laura who gave us good advice to buy a gift. 100% recommendable!
So many great puzzles so fun for families of all ages. Great pictures at the end very good for enquisitive children. Great day to spend my day 😁
Interactive and great fun pics. Appointment times made it not crowded. Great staff. Fun for all. Easy to find.
Tons of fun!!! Incredible photo opportunities and great videos. The kids had a blast. Would highly recommend this museum.
It was a great experience at paradox! The staff were on hand everywhere walking around making sure everyone is okay and helping out with pictures which was very helpful as we were only 2 people!
Loads of cool rooms and experiences. Got to take so many photo’s that have been memorable for all of us and the kids. Staff were really helpful with our pushchair with the lift etc.
Amazing place that challenges your mind. We took fantastic photos! It is a big place and the staff was great!
Lack of staff, some puzzles were closed, was it because it was Sunday? It's a shame
Highly recommended and the photos are very cool.
very poor value for money, a visit that is supposed to be 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes ends up being barely 30 minutes even taking the time to do everything.
Marina helped us, a charming girl
It was great, I went with my partner and we had a blast. I recommend going with at least 3 people to be able to take better photos. Thank you very much Grace for helping us take photos.
Museum for taking photos. Some activities could be better accompanied
Awesome! My son was delighted. Thank you, Neus, for helping us with the photos!
It's great, very good photos
We had a great time! An amazing place to spend with friends or family! I will return without hesitation
We went at 19:00 and I guess the girls who were there wanted to fold, they put us in a big hurry and were pushing us towards the exit, and some of the things we couldn't enjoy.
It's been super xulo! Neus has helped us make the photos even more stunning!
We loved...super fun and entertaining. Fully recommended for all ages.
Wonderful and I'll come thousands of times, thank you
Careful when asking for information about tickets. It was a tease. I try to take the tickets via web and, in the schedule that we were doing well, the free tickets of the Super3 Club did not come out. I ask for private conversation on Instagram (I uploaded the conversation) and they tell me that it is no problem. They can be taken directly at the ticket office at any time but there is a limit per web. I ask him again because the truth is that I find it strange and that we are going to move expressly and I do not want to be surprised. And they repeat that there is no problem and that there is also a promotion of 2 free pancakes per person. When I get there, they start to make trouble for me, I get them out on the web, they don't know who runs social networks, if it doesn't go on the web it's because there are no tickets... In the end, for not leaving (since I was with my young son), and after attending 3 people who each told me a different thing, I had to pay the ticket at box office price (more expensive than on the web) and, the boy who attended me in the end, "to do me a favor", has put me the ticket of the super3 club in another time to be able to pass. Ah! And obviously, no pancakes because it was promotion tickets. In conclusion, they teased me on Instagram because they knew I was going expressly and would pay yes or yes.
Good place to have a great time with family! A super fun experience! It is ideal for going both with family and friends, lots of interactive rooms, optical illusions and activities. We had a great time taking pictures and testing everything! Perfect to have a good time and go out with great memories. Highly recommended!
Very funny!!! Recommended 100%
The museum refused entry because it was late due to torrential rain for a 7-year-old who was soaking wet Cruel and unjust Tickets purchased have been lost
Lots of people, lots of queue in gravity zone and lots of heat. You can't take pictures because of the crowd. It is not worth the value for money, too expensive for the service they offer.
tried because in a promotion via app, nice experience to spend time in the "paradox" super helpful staff that helps you in every test to pass I got to have Cecilia Staff
For children. A lot of broken things. You can save it for what it's worth Very misleading by instagram Some of the parts where you put the body or head smell pretty bad Some rooms smelling closed and sweaty
Original museum for children and adults alike. We spent 1h30 and multiplied the experiences of perspective. It's amazing, especially the attraction in space. We laughed and I highly recommend
Collection of the most topical topics. Of other people's shame. Or for bored tourists. Èxit before entering the gift shop.
Highly recommended experience for your trip to Barcelona. The visit does not take that long. I found really fascinating not only the initial part (dedicated to paradoxes and optical illusions) but also the second (where you can take pictures coming into direct contact with these contradictions of human vision). Finally, the staff is very courteous. 🙂
For a fun morning or afternoon, whether with children or adults, this is the place! A recommendable place to make totally different photographs
Entertaining walk through a passage full of visual paradoxes and areas for curious photos. Fun to spend some time in company.
WHAT YOU SEE IN THE WEB PHOTOS IS WHAT'S THERE. WHAT YOU DON'T SEE IS THE POOR AND UNPLEASANT MANNER THAT ALL THE STAFF ARE. IF YOU BUY THE ADVANCE TICKETS AND YOU ARE ONLY 5 MINUTES LATE THEY WILL NOT LET YOU IN. IF THIS IS THE CASE WITH THE LAST SESSION, I UNDERSTAND BEING TOLD THAT IF YOU ARE LATE YOU SHOULD LEAVE AT 8:30 AM, WHICH SEEMS PERFECT AND LOGICAL, BUT IN GOOD WAYS. THE STAFF IS AFTER YOU CHEATING LIKE SHEEP. BY THE WAY, THE TICKETS ARE PAID AFTER THE HOUR ENTRY TO THE SESSION BUT AFTER THE HOUR THEY DO NOT LET YOU ENTER. THE END OF SESSION NOTICE IS A SHOUT FROM THE BOY THAT SAYS: HEY, WE CLOSE AT 8:30, SO WE'RE CLOSED NOW, AND THE LIGHTS GO OUT NOW AUTOMATICALLY. FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN WERE STILL INSIDE. BY THE WAY FREE ICE CREAM MORE THAN 2 KM FROM THE PLACE AND IF YOU ASK WHY LITTLE INFORMATION. THE ABUSIVE PRICE. WE FINALLY CAME IN BUT AS A FAVOR BECAUSE THEY WOULDN'T LET US PASS BECAUSE IT WAS 7:20 P.M. AND I HAD JUST BOUGHT THE TICKETS AT THE DOOR. IMAGINE THE FACE OF MY CHILDREN, WHEN THEY TELL US SEVERAL TIMES THAT THEY ARE CLOSED AND WITH NEWLY PURCHASED TICKETS. BY THE WAY INSIDE WE WOULD BE ABOUT 5 FAMILIES AND BETWEEN PHOTO AND PHOTO AS ONE ENTERTAINS AND I INCLUDE YOU ARE LEFT WITH THE DESIRE FOR PHOTO NOT FOR THE FAMILIES, BUT FOR THE RUSH OF THE WORKERS. ANYWAY, I'M NOT GOING BACK TO ANYTHING ORGANIZED BY THIS ENTERPRISE.
Have spent a very insightful and above all funny morning in the museum. Perfect for families but also for couples or circles of friends. a very good mix of science and fun.
It was a lot of fun and there were also a ton of optical effects. The facility was very clean and the route was well marked. It was very entertaining for any age.
One pass! The kids didn't want to get out of there, we had so much fun. Thanks to Grace who helped us take the best pictures. 😉
