Booked as a combo along with La pedrara (Goudi’ design house). So good value in that sense. Although not a long tour and very limited info on the history and construction of this fairly recent building. But such a beautiful place. So much so, that we immediately booked tickets for a performance that evening and were enthralled by the amazingly talented Delicia Chamber Orchestra performing Abba, Beatles and Queen (and a few others).

Unusually beautiful, both on the outside and on the inside – definitely worth a visit.
A beautiful building, we sat in the theatre for a while just looking at all the different elements. There was even some organ playing demonstrating the great acoustics. There isn't a huge amount to see, so you can take your time. We felt that for the time we spent there, the entrance was quite expensive.
Pure eye candy: a spectacular venue with exterior sculptures that complement the building's overall design, splashed with colour on the columns and mural near the top. Inside, the hall is surreal. Glass art deco ceiling and side panels on the wall display coats of arms of Spanish/Catalan provinces. The many muse figures with instruments on the wall below the organ were delightful. The organist treated the visitors to a mini-concert; not sure what the piece was, but it was a pleasant bonus. The colourful columns on the balcony were stupendous. The whole place is a photog's dream. Ear candy?: I attended a concert here and it was very... ear-opening. Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto #1, not really my fav; the sound was a tad boomy, and the solo wind performance (flute or clarinet?) sounded too strident for my ears. I figured with all the glass panels and glass dome ceiling (visually beautiful!), those can't be good for dampening sonic reflections. Anyways, it was still a memorable experience, especially in this remarkable hall. Ticket prices are steep; I did the self-guided tour so I could spend as much time as I wanted to.
It's really nice building. We didn’t hire a guide; we chose to explore on our own. You can stay as long as you like—after all, the ticket price is quite high.
This is another “must see” attraction in Barcelona. So beautiful… so dramatic… so ornate… a really spectacular exhibit.
Given the other options to see, this for the cost of admission is quite underwhelming. Not even any music, recorded or otherwise to add some atmosphere.
No clear direction about how to access the audio guide. We had to ask. After being shown a stand with a QR code on it, we were anle to enjoy the tour. Worth seeing. Very beautiful.
I was unable to use the online audio guide. The ticket from trip advisor had several different numbers on it. None of them worked when I entered them to get access to the guide. It's a beautiful building and the pdf guide provided by the palace was very useful.
Absolutely breathtaking! The Palau de la Música Catalana is such a beautiful and unique place, with incredible architecture and an atmosphere that is truly unforgettable. We were lucky enough to hear the choir rehearsing, and later the organ player, which made our visit even more special. The combination of the magnificent surroundings and the beautiful music was simply magical. We highly recommend visiting — it’s an experience not to be missed when in Barcelona!
The Palau da Catalan Music was fabulous! Terrific staff. Beautiful interior. Nice luncheon restaurant. Booking was easy and entrance quick. Very relaxed atmosphere.
This concert hall is breathtaking. The stained glass, tile mosaics, sculptures, and overall design are beautiful individually, but all together they are mesmerizing. While we were there, there was a brief organ demonstration and that was also impressive, to say the least. This visit was certainly a highlight of my trip to Barcelona.
Loved looking at this beautiful piece of architecture- a calm oasis in Barcelona.
Beautiful Palace and architecture. Colorfull, playfull pullars. In the termin of our visit musicians played some organ composition. It was magnificent.
Stunning building. The detail on the walls and ceilings is exquisite. It is stunningly beautiful. Don’t miss the beautiful columns on the balcony n
The Palau de la Musica is a beautiful Gaudi designed building with a rich history. I definitely recommend seeing it. The audio guide is comprehensive, but it was unclear where you were supposed to be for each section. Remember the guide works on YOUR phone, so you will need a phone with an internet connection and your own headphones. Check-in was a little confusing but the staff was very helpful. The pipe organ plays every 15 minutes or so, so grab a seat and listen.
The place was beautiful however the audio did not work and we paid extra to have audio so we didn’t get any history about it which was incredibly disappointing. Don’t think it’s right that we paid for that and we didn’t get it.
I knew it was supposed to be beautiful, but seeing it in person was something else entirely. The colors, the curves, the stained‑glass skylight. It all felt almost unreal, like stepping into a living piece of art. I kept catching myself just staring at the details: the mosaics, the carved figures, the way the light moves through the space. It was stunning in a way that photos don’t prepare you for. Being there made me appreciate how much creativity and craftsmanship went into every inch of the building. It ended up being one of my favorite places I visited. If someone is in Barcelona and wants a place that feels both inspiring and unforgettable, this is it.
The Palau de la Música is a beautiful venue. There is so much visual detail to take in. The auditorium is spectacular. The self-guided tour is okay. You basically are paying to see the beautiful space as you are required to bring your own listening device (earbuds, earphones, etc) if you want to listen to the tour which is provided by a download. In short, you pay for the price of admission into the building. Nothing else is supplied.
Such an interesting and beautiful space! The architecture is amazing. We returned that evening to enjoy a concert, which I highly recommend in this unique space
We arrived at the front entrance and once inside was told “we’re closed go around the to the back”. After going around the corner, we discovered we had to go through a restaurant and ended up back in the same place inside the front doors that we were told we couldn’t access. We were checked in by the same person who rudely told us that they were closed. Very disappointed
Beautiful architecture!! Wish the staff was more helpful without attitude.
I did not receive my tickets via email. I could not access them in the app even when clicking the “get your tickets” button. The venue staff were rude and unhelpful. I tried to call the customer service number and my call kept getting rejected.
Awesome experience. Much better than Gaudin
Well worth the visit! Loved the acoustics of the organ! Beautiful colours and sights. Good audio guide.
Excellent. This space, even if you’re not a musician or singer, is incredible. The interior design and architecture are worth the visit. Once we heard the organizations playing, we were all in. Also, a nice lunch can be had, too.
Nice audio tour. Staff helpful. Very beautiful inside. Taped music played at intervals which was unexpected. I booked this tour as I had a little extra time and I am glad I did.
Beautiful concert hall, but honestly, the ticket price is way too high for a short visit. Unless you are a huge fan of Modernism, you might find it's not worth the 20+ euros just to look around for 40 minutes. It's much better to buy a ticket for an actual concert to experience the acoustics, otherwise, it feels like a bit of a tourist trap.
Very good tour but more information on each aspect would have made it excellent.
Unfortunately we were only on sightseeing at the theatre. Next time we would lovd to try to be part of a classical concert here so we could experience the acoustic. The building in itself is fabulous. Make sure to sit down for a while and just look at all the details in the building.
Wonderful colourful work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner. We also saw the performers practicing. For more Lluís Domènech i Montaner go to the Sant Pau Hospital on your trip to Barcelona. It is also beautiful and a must-see!
Gorgeous old theater with a large lovely café (with patio). €18-22 is too expensive for a tour of a venue that size. The best way to see it would be to go to a performance.
Amazing building. I then attended the Opera at night and discovered the depth of the acoustical experience. another must-see location.
What a gorgeous concert hall! I was a little taken aback that our self-tour tickets were about $20 a person (when you're just walking around a rather small area overall), but it ended up being worth it. The building is just breath taking.
We weren’t given ear pieces to listen to the information about the theater. It was a waist of time and money. The theater is beautiful but not well organized for the self guided tour with audio.
Spectacular one of a kind music venue with beautiful architectural flair and intriguing history. This is a must-see in Barcelona and is easy to do. Visit takes about an hour and if you forget earbuds, you can just read the info on your phone.
The architecture is incredible! However, be warned the audio guide was a little funky. Had to get a security person to help me get on the Wi-Fi, which made it work a little better. But the place is absolutely stunning.
This was a stunning site. We did the self-guided tour and so we were not there long. They did play some music for about five minutes while we were there, so we got to experience a bit of the sound. It was not posted or scheduled when music is played, so I'm not sure if we just lucked out. The 36 Euro cost for two people was a bit much for the experience. It might be more worth it to do the guided tour. This was a very short walk from the Cathedral and the Gothic Quarter. They have a small cafe and a gift shop. I found several souvenirs here that were unique and fairly priced.
A gem in Madrid! I stumbled across this place and it is beautiful! The architecture is decadent and the stain glass throws light around beautifully. If you're just visiting as a tourists I would recommend just for the architecture- though it looks like there are live music performances which I imagine are amazing in such a venue!
This beautiful performance space is definitely worth seeing. The architecture is gorgeous and unique and the stained glass ceiling is spectacular. You don't need a long time there, but you should absolutely make a point of seeing it if you're in Barcelona.
I got there and the ticket office said that I hadn't paid for the tour that was charged to my crédit card over a month ago so I had to purchase another ticket thru the museum
I had seen the pictures of the building when we were doing research for our trip. But, experiencing it first hand was on an entirely different level. It is a vibrant and dynamic building that is awesome to experience. We also had the joy of listening to the organ while we were touring the building. Definitely try to experience the Palau de la Musica when you are in Barcelona.
Regrettably the closest train station was under construction in august. It took longer to get to on foot from a the main plaza. I would’ve like to eaten something at the beautiful cafe on site. The Palau de musica is a hidden jewel in Barcelona with its ornate stain glass, statues, and mosaics. I had a tour early in the morning so I cancelled my flamenco show of that evening at 9pm. It would’ve been amazing to watch in such a beautiful place.
Every square inch displays artistry and symbolism. Visiting Palau de Musica is definitely an experience worth spending precious time and money from your travel budget. It is an amazing structure with plenty of photo opps!
We didn't get booked in advance, but we were able to buy our tickets on the spot and only had to wait 5-10 minutes to be let in. Very pretty, the little tiles are amazing. The experience was enhanced by the fact that they were practicing musical instruments inside, so we got to experience the acoustics.
This colorful, intimate theatre is a delight to the senses. The vibrant stained glass, patterned tiles, columns and roses...lots of roses surrounding warm wood seating showcase the elegance of Catalan Modernism. Crowds were minimal for Barcelona at 9:30 am. Don't forget to stop in the cafe for a coffee and croissant on the patio.
Stunning hall with beautiful architecture. Practice was going on at the time, which enhanced the whole experience.
We went to a concert in this venue, WOW! Highly recommend! Great way to experience a concert. I do regret not spending the extra money to sit in the lower section. We couldn't get the full effect of the architecture and finishes in our 'nose-bleed' seats. Also after concert, the ushers push you out the doors. We managed to snap a few pictures but not enough. This is a Must Do experience. My husband is not a fan of 'cultural music' but he loved it.
It just wasn't a whole lot to see here although the artitecture was beautiful. The staff was helpful. If you wanted to do this tour it would only take about an hour at the most not much more.
First, you should know this is an audio tour that you listen to from your phone. You download it with a code that is on your booking (four digits). There is no human involved. There is a person in the lobby and we just went up to them showing our ticket on our phone, near to the time our scheduled visit, they scanned it, and off you go up the stairs. If you want to see the pictures the audio is referring to then you should have earbuds or headphones so you can look at them while listening to the recording. If you have your phone up to your ear obviously you can't see them at the same time. There is also a 360 degree picture on one of the stops with music playing in the background, so headphones/earbuds would be best for that. Next, there is a great cafe there, that anyone can walk into off the street without tickets (also rest rooms). Also an outdoor area with tables/umbrellas outside the cafe. And the requisite gift shop, of course. The Palau itself is beautiful. The balcony is amazing (best pics if there isn't a tour group filling it!) The music hall itself is stunning! We were only able to go up to the top level (the audio tour includes the lower level, but it was blocked off). You can sit and take pics while you listen to your audio guide description. It is truly worth the price of admission to see it. Bonus when we were there, there was a pianist on stage playing so you could get a feel for the remarkable unamplified acoustic. We are very happy we did this and was able to see this architectural marvel!
