This was a wonderful tour! We were only in Barcelona for a short stay, taking a cruise the next day. This was a great intro to the food, wine, and history of Barcelona. Our tour guide was great! Lots was walking and it was extremely hot but the restaurant staff was courteous and the food/wine was overall pretty good. Would recommend..especially as an evening tour.

Itinerary
Meet your guide in front of La Dama restaurant on Avinguda Diagonal for an evening food tour through Barcelona’s bars, restaurants and streets, full of gastronomic history, traditions and, of course, plenty of good food you won’t find anywhere else. Your first stop is an old bodega, where you will taste traditional Spanish and Catalan tapas with a drink.
Continue along Passeig de Gràcia, passing Gaudí’s La Pedrera and Casa Batlló, beautifully lit up at night. On the way, visit one of the city’s best-known pintxos bars, serving the small snacks typical of the north of Spain. The third stop is a place very popular with locals, where traditional tapas of fish, meat and vegetables are served.
To conclude the tour, sit down at a restaurant to enjoy typical Spanish and Catalan meat dishes with a drink. Afterwards, ask your guide for recommendations and keep exploring Barcelona’s flavours on your own.

This is a very detailed tour of significant buildings and architectural history of chiefly upscale residential properties and the history of Catalan families in Barcelona. Though there were 2 tapas and “beer” stops, this is a lecture tour and definitely not a party atmosphere. In that context it is definitely worth your time but it involves a lot of prolonged standing and listening I do recommend the guide Montse for her cordial demeanor and extensive art history and architectural knowledge
Montse was our guide, she was fun, knowledgeable and a great guide. We had a great time and the food was awesome.
Montse was an amazing guide! She was so knowledgeable about everything and you can tell she really loved what she was teaching us! All of the food was out of this world, and worked with many food allergies. I can not recommend this enough!
Montse was very punctual and started the tour with a bit of history of architecture and style in the Modernist area. She also told us about the creation of the downtown. We walked about five blocks, ducking into a couple of beautiful buildings to see architectural details and beautiful tile work. Our first tapas place was an authentic bar, serving tapas since the 1950s (I think.) we had patatas bravas, jamon, fried cuttlefish, caramelized cheese, pan con tomate, bistec, and sangria. We enjoyed all the tapas except cuttlefish, which was just not our thing. We then walked a bit further to see Gaudi’s buildings on the Rambla, where Montse talked about all the features and inspiration. Then we went to a delicious place for dinner tapas. We ordered jamon with pineapple, steak tartar, bimi with mushrooms, pear with fontina and candied walnuts. We also got a couple of desserts, including bombi torrija, which was unbelievable. Montse was great, as was the dining experience.
It was a pleasure to be guided by Montse who is a local Catalan with a rich knowledge and passion about the area. The tour involved a good balance of food, drinks, walking and knowledge sharing. Montse showed us some secret spots only a local would know about and was personable, patient and treated us like a friend. This tour will take you to places you would never know about unless you're a passionate local. You will also leave satisfied from the variety of tapas and drinks provided.
Montse was very helpful in giving us advice on where to go! the tour was lovely
My friend and I had a great experience walking the streets of Barcelona and getting incredible insight on the architecture and history of the city. Montse was our guide and she was funny, knowledgeable, and very kind. We really enjoyed it.
We had a fantastic tapas walking tour in the Eixample district of Barcelona and it ended up being one of the highlights of our visit. The tour started with a wonderful meal featuring a selection of traditional Catalan tapas—many of which we had never tried before. It was a great introduction to the local cuisine and a relaxed way to begin the evening. From there we set out on a walking tour through the Eixample neighborhood, learning about the incredible legacy of Barcelona’s modernist architects. Our guide brought the architecture to life with fascinating stories and historical context. We stopped in front of numerous private homes designed by different architects, and the explanations of the design details, symbolism, and craftsmanship made us appreciate the buildings in a whole new way. What really made the experience stand out was our guide Montse. She was energetic, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her passion for the architecture and the history of Barcelona was contagious, and she made the entire evening both educational and fun. If you want an experience that combines great food, beautiful architecture, and rich history, this tour is absolutely worth doing. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Barcelona.
This was a highlight of our trip! A wine and tapas tour that included an in-depth education about Catalonian food and culture and an immersion into the rich architectural history of Barcelona. Montse's knowledge and experience is extensive. The evening over-exceeded our expectations!! She is a gem. Thank you so much.
Stephanie was great. We had an awsome time. Alot of walking but she made sure everyone was OK. Very informative. The cat bar in the end of the tour was amazing as was the rest of the tour.
Montse was super passionate, excited and a very knowledgable guide. Extremely familiar with the history and certainly made us feel special by asking us about our experiences in Barcelona, Also after a bit we chatted about family and the world. Definitely a perfect way to finish off a great experience in Barcelona and a huge thank you for including/suggesting this. It’s simply amazing how we can travel so far from home and thanks to Montse feel so welcome
Montse was an enthusiastic guide who knew all about the architecture and history of Barcelona and Catalan. The tapas were delicious and it was a fun evening.
Montse was amazing. We had a wonderful time learning about the local culture and architecture. The food was delicious and Montse was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Highly recommend this tour.
We had a lovely time on this Tapas walking tour! Our guide, Montreal, was friendly and so knowledgeable about the entire area. Our first tapas stop was so good with patatas, goat cheese, chorizo, pork, and more! Our second stop was also excellent. We ordered garlic shrimp and grilled squid, plus desserts, all was delicious. And Montse went out of her way to accommodate my dietary restriction of no gluten, thank you for that!
What was supposed to be a Group trip to sample some of the Best Tapas in Barcelona, Turned out to be a Fun, Informative and truly magical night in Barcelona And it was all due to Monce who became our Personal tour guide. She was friendly and extremely knowledgeable not only with Tapas, but on almost every topic from Gauda architecture, to everything that you always want to know but we're afraid to ask about Catalonia. She definitely made my wife and I feel like family. If not for Monce it would have been just another tour. She even got one of the owners of the Tapas restaurants to allow me to pose with him with the trophy won by the Soccer team that he sponsored. Thanks to Monce this was the highlight of our trip to Spain so far.
We had a lovely tour of modernist architecture in Barcelona. Our guide, Montse, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the art history and architecture of the city.
Stephanie is an exceptional guide! We were lucky and treated to a private tour, where she catered to our likes and dislikes. Her knowledge of art and architecture was very informative - she took the time to answer all of our questions and explain facts about Gaudi as well as other modernist movement artists. We love history and Stephanie gave us many interesting stories. We learned about the people of Barcelona as well. We visited a wonderful tapas bar - with delicious food- the owners took the time to explain the food, it was off the beaten path - and away from all the awful places on Las Ramblas. At the end we had a nightcap at the 4 black cats cafe - as it was about to rain we needed to get ahead of the crowds. Even if it’s not a private tour Stephanie is a pleasure - will track her down for another tour next time in Barcelona. We felt privileged to have experienced a tour from another Stephanie!
Really great experience that I would recommend to do at the beginning of your trip to Barcelona. The walking tour is a great activity since it allows you to discover the city with your mouth, by tasting delicious local specialty, your eyes, by seeing a beautiful area of Barcelona and amazing architecture, as well as your ears, by listening to your guide that will tell you all about Barcelona’s history and famous architects. Our guide, Montse, was amazing! We could feel her enthusiasm about the city, especially about sharing its history and presenting to us the beautiful architecture and the hidden gems in this city rich in culture.
We had a wonderful private walking tapas tour in the modernist area with Montse, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. She was kind, patient, and incredibly attentive to our family’s needs. When our children started to get a little restless, she seamlessly suggested a quick gelato stop, turning a potential meltdown into a happy memory. That small gesture speaks volumes about her attentiveness and ability to connect with families. She is not only professional and insightful, but also genuinely fun to be around. She made Barcelona come alive for us in the most personal and meaningful way. Highly recommended!
Monstse…you were awesome…excellent oration and historical knowledge…wonderful person…good knowledge of historical events
Our tour guide Montse was so much fun and well informed of the area and she has great knowledge of the art scene. The tapas were great too!
The tour was so informative. Our tour guide was excellent. Ms. MonsetF is highly recommended! I would like to see her again to do our next tour to our next visit to Barcelona!
I booked the Night Tapas Walking Tour in Barcelona’s Modernist area for my parents after their transatlantic cruise, and they absolutely loved it! Montse was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming, making the experience so special for them. They visited fantastic restaurants, enjoyed delicious tapas and drinks, and had a wonderful time learning about the city. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting an authentic and memorable evening in Barcelona. Thank you, Montse, for taking such great care of them!
Wonderful day in Barcelona tasting tapas, wines, and learning so much interesting history while walking and admiring the beautiful architecture. Our guide, Montse, was very knowledgeable and communicated well and made sure we had a great experience- she even added a few things to customize to us after getting to know us. We would definitely recommend this tour!
Our group of eight enjoyed delicious tapas at two lovely restaurants. We were guided through Barcelona by the very knowledgeable MONTSE. She shared her expertise on architecture and culture. She was very personable and great fun.
My wife and I are compelled to write how much we enjoyed our evening in Barcelona with Montse. Montse’s enthusiasm, energy, educated knowledge and charm made the evening one of the highlights of our trip. She is justly proud of her city and we were enthralled by her presentation. The information conveyed, the pace of the evening, the quality of the tapas bar food and drink were all memorable. Most certainly, the central component was Montse herself. At the conclusion of the evening, we felt as if Montse had been a longtime friend. She is an asset to your company. The app “Get your Guide” and particularly Montse are unconditionally highly recommended.
Excellent walking tour with Kattjy. She is an amazing guide, and we enjoyed tapas at Bodega Joan and pintos at TXAPELA. We discussed the history and development of Barcelona, Casa Lleo Morera, Casa Amatller and Casa Batllo on Passieg de Garcia. I highly recommend reserving tours with In Out Barcelona Tours!
The tapas tour of Barcelona was absolutely amazing. Montse knew the history and all the best spots.
Fantastic experience! Daniel is a fantastic guide. Highly recommended. Absolutely exceeded our expectations.
My husband and I truly enjoyed this experience and that is all thanks to our guide Daniel. He was such an personable, engaging and knowledgeable person, he spoke about the history and architecture of the city and how that relates to the current food and drink influence / culture. We loved every place we visited. I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a fun and relaxing way to meet people and see some of the city
Daniel was an excellent host! He brought us to three unique spots that served delicious food and tasty drinks. He was knowledgeable on the history and culture of Spain with a focus on Barcelona. Daniel was outgoing and fun! Felt like three friends hanging out vs. being on a tour. Highly recommend this for anyone looking to learn a little more about Spanish culture while enjoying local cuisine.
Amazing pieces of history, humble guide. Really a memorizable experience. A coherent story in a huge variety of different tapas.
This touowas supposed to start at 2:00 pm so I’m not sure why it is called a a “night” tour? When we 5 minutes away from the meeting point, I received a phone call that the tour was being rescheduled to 3:00 pm instead of 2 pm. We had just walked 30 minutes to be on-time. So, we wondered around and wasted an hour. Sat at our meeting location for 30 minutes with no communication from our guide, despite several attempts to contact him. Called Viator and they were able to contact the guide who eventually showed up nearly 2 hours late. At this point I was no longer interested! He says the company double-booked him. $400 USD is a lot of money to us and and I’m sad and disappointed about the outcome.
Fede was the best host! His knowledge of the history of the landmarks was informative. The food and wine was delicious. We highly recommend this tour!!
Had a wonderful tapas and gaudi tour with Montse. She has an amazing wealth of knowledge regarding Catalan food and its associated regional history.
Had a wonderful tour just me my wife and Montse (out tour guide). We had wonderful tapas at somw really neat pubs. But even better then the Tapas was our tour guide Montse. Since we basically had a one on one with her, we got a lot of friendly personal highlights. Great night out.
The fact that our guide was so up on all the places he took us to. And gave us a a tasting of different things at each of the places we went to. His choices were great and the food was Wonderful. Daniel was very nice.
Daniel was very friendly. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the subject matter plus so much more. He was accommodating and personalized the tour.
Excellent. Informational beyond expectations. Highly recommend Olga, she is full of knowledge and ensures understanding
We visited two tapa restaurants, one local and one based on the Basque region. Excellent food and so different. All food and drink (beer and sangria and wine) is included in the cost. We also stopped for Horchada and then finished the night at the Amatller Chocolate shop for biscuits, fruit and chocolate fondue! Along the way, we talked about Gaudi, the neighborhood and the city. Olga was very nice and so knowledgeable. I would do the tour again in a heartbeat!
We had a wonderful evening exploring Tapas, learning how to order and hearing the culture of Tapas in Spain. Olga was charming, knowledgeable, and made sure we had a good time. Well worth it.
Went in two tapas places , The staff in both places didn't seem to bother, we waited patiently for ages then four dishes came out , A meat dish hadn't been cooked enough and the fish was chewy. We had one drink and left, on the way to the second restaurant we stopped off and tried some urch, a milk which is popular in Barcelona , this was really nice . The second restaurant was slightly more modern. You had tapas on a stick , you were allowed to choose three tapas. The tapas was serviced on a small piece of bread, a couple of mouth fulls and that was it . you also could have a drink in this restaurant. We where then taken for a dessert in a chocolate shop. , we had a cup of thick chocolate that we were expected to drink or dip fruit in it.. We payed over £200 for three of us for this trip and felt totally ripped off. The quality of the food wasn't good and neither were the restaurants.
While in Barcelona, we thought we'd try something different from the typical stuff, and we're so glad we did! Not only were the tapas and wine delicious, but Olga made the evening a lot of fun and very informative. She obviously has a lot of passion for Spain, Barcelona, and cuisine. We took another tour at La Sagrada Familia the very next day, and we actually felt ahead of the curve -- all because of Olga! We couldn't recommend this tour more! Added bonus: since it's a walking tour, you're definitely walking off the calories from the tapas!
I would highly recommend this Tapas walking tour. Small group- just 2 couples and our host ( guide ) Donatella, who was excellent. Her knowledge of Barcelona was fantastic and made our night together with great food.
Rather than wonder where to have dinner that first night, we booked this amazing tour. We had great food and our guide, Olga, gave us so much information about the sights, the history, and the buildings as we made our way from one gastro delight to the next. It was a great surprise that we ended at the home of a chocolate dynasty and had wonderful hot chocolate ... so rich we could dip fresh fruit like it was a fondue. Olga was amazing. Good information and really good food.
Our guide, Olga was very knowledgeable, personable and informed us on many issues in Barcelona. She spoke very clearly (as some guides speak incoherently). We enjoyed the tour. We found the instructions to get to the guide were very difficult as the street signs are obscure and we overshot our turns several times, but finally found Olga.
What a great experience! Our guide, Aneta, took us through some of the most beautiful neighborhoods of Barcelona on a wonderful culinary, sightseeing and educational experience. We ate a diverse tasting of foods and wines at four diverse and unique restaurants that we would have never found on our own. We were able to walk the streets of Barcelona, taking in the amazing architecture and local culture. Aneta shared story after story about the history of Barcelona and it’s people. It was such an incredible way to get a local’s feel for this wonderful city. I highly recommend!!!

Wonderful tapas, pintxos and walking tour with Olga.
First stop was local tapas place with authentic tapas offerings, yum! Washed down with sangria, beer and wine. Olga explained the area, the food and the history of tapas.
Next stop back to the more tourist area for pintxos. I think we all liked tapas better - but perhaps that was because we were more hungry at the first place?
Olga took us via Casa Mila and explained the history and took photos great to have everyone in our group together.
Dessert was next door to Casa Bartlo - hot chocolate was wonderful and tipped us over the edge into fully satisfied.
Thank you Olga for commentary and a great tour. We highly recommend this tour!

My partner and I went on this tour, and it was possibly the highlight of our (brief) stay in Barcelona. Being just the two of us on the tour, we had very personal attention, and felt free to ask all the dumb questions you might not in a larger group. Our guide's knowledge of the city, it's history and it's food, was in depth and interesting. We went to four very different bard, traditional, family, modern and café-style, and ate some terrific food, as well as sampling a range of local drinks. Well worth the money, and highly recommended.
