My friends and I visited the Montserrat Monastery.Our guide was Oleksandra, who shared many interesting facts about Montserrat. We went up the mountain, which offered extraordinary views. This was the start of our 2 week trip and what an amazing start! Sergio was absolutely incredible! He pointed out the view of France on the way up and told us all the lore behind everything we saw. The views were spectacular! It was a little warm when we went but so worth it! Definitely an experience we will remember forever!!

It was amazing from start to finish and I would definitely recommend. The mountains and monastery are just beautiful! Our guide, Oleksandra, was really friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. She gave interesting insights about the history of the monastery and how it works. The itinerary is well structured. I was a bit hesitant of the 8am start at first but on reflection it’s definitely the right time. It meant we avoided big crowds and were able to enjoy the space peacefully. Me and my friends are all neurodivergent so we appreciated this a lot. The itinerary was great, Oleksandra was really lovely and the atmosphere in the quiet, early parts of the morning were breathtaking. We all agreed, the tour was the highlight of our trip! 😊

Had a great day visiting Montserrat with friends led by Sergei. He was very flexible and communicative with us. He was both friendly and knowledgeable and let us go at our own pace. Montserrat itself was incredibly beautiful and a nice change of pace from Barcelona.

That was a great experience! Serhii is so knowledgeable and shared many exciting facts. He also picked us up directly from our hotel, which was really convenient and made everything so easy. We really enjoyed this trip! From chatting with Serhii we got the impression that it’s a family run business and we think that’s what makes it so special. You can really feel the care and attention they put into everything and all the little details that make the experience feel so personal. A huge thank you from Kris and me! We had a brilliant time.

Our guide Sergey was personable and knowledgeable about Montserrat. It’s a bit of a drive from Barcelona to Montserrat, but Sergey made sure everyone was comfortable. When we got there he dropped us at the cafeteria so he could park as parking was a ways back. Once he returned the tour started The views were fantastic before we started the tour of the church. Outside the church he told us how Napoleon had destroyed the church and the people rebuilt it. He also explained why the Blqck Madonna is black. Once inside he would tell us about the different rooms and the statue of the Black Madonna. He allowed ample time to explore and take a moment. Afterwards we hiked the path to the cross and he took pictures for us. When the tour was over he even went as far as to drop us back at our hotel inside of the meeting point. He was very kind and generous with the time. Very god tour. Highly recommended.

The trip to this place is just an hour’s drive by private car from Barcelona. Pleasant drive going up to Montserrat atop 1,700 feet. Guide was good driver and very knowledgeable about Montserrat. Since we were seniors with some issues walking uphill, the guide gave us options to get around the difficulty and still enjoyed the most important experience at Montserrat. Guide was friendly, helpful, respectful, and Professional. We had meaningful moments with the Black Madonna, spent time in the Church, had a break for a snack & a drink, took photos, and had time to buy souvenirs. Great experience!!!

One of the best tours we have ever been on. Montserrat is an incredible experience and one that was enhanced by the decision to use Alexandra’s private tour. Picked up and driven to Montserrat in an extremely comfortable and clean car with smooth driving, and excellent commentary and assistance the entire morning from Alexandra . The cable car ride up was breathtaking and arriving in Montserrat and learning the history on the town and the Black Madonna and walking to various stunning vantage points was fantastic. We would strongly recommend this tour. 10 out of 10.

Excellent day with Alexandra. Great communication leading up to our pick up. The area we stayed in was tricky to do a direct pick up so she arranged a clear pick up area including pictures. Very nice car and pleasant conversation to our destination. The tour was excellent and we loved dictating the pace. This is a beautiful area close to Barcelona and well worth the time. Would love to reconnect with Alexandra in the future and hire her again for any tours she handles. We will Be letting our travel agent know how excellent the tour company is and that she should recommend them to her clients. Thank you for an amazing and memorable day.

Sergei was a wonderful guide and a very nice person! He ensured that we saw everything, and he provided interesting stories as well as the history of the area so that we understood what we were seeing. The pre-tour communication was excellent, and we knew exactly where we needed to be to begin the tour. We had a great visit to Montserrat, and we highly recommend this tour!

We had an amazing time and informative tour to the monastery. Sergei and Oleksandra were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The drive was extremely comfortable and we could set our own pace for the tour. Never felt rushed. We were able to spend time in quiet prayer and the hike to the cross although challenging ended with one of the most gorgeous views we have seen. We were originally going to try to get there by public transport but I am so glad we opted for this tour. It took all the stress out of the trip and also cut travel time in half. I highly recommend a trip to the monastery and would go again with Sergei and Oleksandra.

This tour was excellent. Our driver picked us up at our hotel and the drive to the mountains was spectacular. It was great to get out of the city and experience a changing landscape. We were able to go right to the main attractions once we arrived, the basilica and black Madonna and was surprised to see that Gaudi also designed one of the chapels. Then we hiked to the cross and the view was breathtaking. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us an extensive history lesson on the area, the Templar Knights, and Montserrat. We highly recommend this tour, especially since it was about 4-ish hours so you are still able to spend your afternoon and night in Barcelona.

What an amazing trip to Montserrat and hike to Saint Michael’s Cross and most especially seeing and praying before the Black Madonna! This was a beautiful faith filled day for my husband and it felt like a mini pilgrimage! Serhii and Oleksandra were wonderful, gracious, kind hosts! I would highly recommend!

It is a must see. Definitely take the cable car up and also do the walk up to St Michael’s cross. Views are spectacular. Title of trip a bit misleading. The photo of nice van is actually a Hyundai SUV. Tour guide had 8 year old son with us no advance warning. The “tasting” is actual market open to all w/tents where vendors sell cheese. Everyone gets free tasting samples.

I would highly recommend the Golden Hour experience in August. It was less crowded and more enjoyable in hot weather. The team was great -highly communicative, before, during and after the trip. Sergey was a wonderful tour guide. He had the perfect balance of knowledge and timing. He took great pictures of us and it was an easy day trip. The transportation was very comfortable for a family of 5.

Aleksandra was great, she picked us up from our hotel. Having a local guide made all the difference. Instead of stressing over train schedules, ticket queues, or transport logistics, Aleksandra handled everything while sharing stories about Catalan culture, rich history, and local legends. We also got to try local cheeses.

He was very patient as we made our way through the church, fining us plenty of time to stop. He also let us know a beautiful tour outside the church through some of the paths in the mountains. Prepare for drive up the mountain or enjoy the experience more on the furnicular or cable cart for breathless views. Wear comfortable shoes, take water to enjoy the hikes and views

Our family enjoyed the private tour of Montserrat. In the tour, we visited the Black Madonna, beautiful church and were provided many details about everything here. Walked a trail on the mountain to the cross and get great views and photos. The guide was very helpful and informative.

Great experience and Alexandra was very kind and knowledgeable. Just know there is lots of uphill walking at times. Wear very supportive sneakers and you'll be fine! Had a great time.

Our guide Sergy was wonderful. He was communicative as soon as we booked and had a very pleasant ride to and from Montserrat. He accompanied us to the Black Madonna and gave us historical information along the way. My 11 year old son also loved him. This family business was awesome!! Alexsandra and Surgy were very accommodating. They helped us with our pick up location because streets were blocked because the Pope was in town. Surgy gave us a great tour giving us historical insights to Montserrat and the Black Madonna. He also gave us current information on how the Pope visited, the attendence, and logistics of how the Monastery accommodated everyone. The trip home was educational on Barcelona culture. Just returned from a great half day trip from Barcelona to Montserrat. First time doing a private tour and it was great. Sergei was excellent and was very patient with us (we have a tendency to wander off in different directions). The Black Madonna was inspiring and the view from the Cross was amazing. And we had a chance to try some local cheese and honey. Definitely go early - there were no lines and we went at our own pace. Was great getting to know Sergei. Our family (including two young adult kids) had a great time.

Sergey made the day at Monserrat very special. He was informative, professional, considerate and flexible. We did the morning tour which was very nice because it wasn’t crowded and also comfortable as far as temperature. Sergey is also an excellent driver and shows a great deal of respect for his clients. We highly recommend this tour and company.

Sergio was an awesome guide he was fun to talk with and seems to really know his stuff. There was a small amount of miscommunication on both parties but all in all we all had a great time. We got some great views for pictures, we got to taste cheese, he made sure that we all had a great time and that we were okay with the hike.

It was an amazing experience from the booking through the tour! They were very responsive to the questions we asked in advance. They offered hotel pick up and drop off at a very reasonable fee. Sergey is an amazing tour guide, and an incredible person beyond this tour. It was great to get to know him better. Montserrat is a beautiful place! They recommended the pick up in advance and their knowledgeable recommendation on a morning tour allowed for a wonderful tour prior to all the tour buses dropping off the hoards of people that were coming in as we were leaving. Sergey provided great information on the tour at a very relaxed pace so that we could get the most out of it. I definitely recommend this to anyone considering a private tour. They also have a few other tours that we learned about so we arranged an evening tour with him the same day. He took us to Sitges and this was a great evening tour!!

Sergei picked us up at our hotel. We drove to Monserrat. The tour was amazing! Wear a hat and sunscreen. Take walking sticks. Take a camera /cell phone. We took photos and wandered the grounds. Made for an amazing tour. Sergei was amazing. Lots of knowledge about the monastery and history. He took pictures of our group for great memories. We highly recommend this tour!!!

Booked the service and requested hotel pickup. She was quick to respond to confirm the hotel pickup with a very reasonable fee. She explained what to expect in the tour, who are guide would be and recommend a morning tour. We then confirmed the pickup time. Sergey arrived just as planned. The car was nice and clean and his driving was smooth and comfortable. The timing of his arrival was crucial to the entire tour because it was not crowded at all which allowed for an amazing experience. He shared history and details about Montserrat, the basilica, all the statues and everything we experienced. He had an easy going, slow paced communication style so we didn’t feel hurried at all. His English was also very good! About the time the tour was ending, we noticed the crowds of people coming in from the tour buses. So because they recommend an 8am pick up, allowed us to get through with so few people. This was the amazing part. We couldn’t believe the bus loads of people pouring in as we were heading out. Any later than how he planned the tour would have been a totally different experience with the crowds. Sergey definitely knows how to lead a private tour and sets it up for success. My husband and I had an amazing private tour at Montserrat and is very grateful to have met Sergey.

A wonderful private tour for our family of four including two young kids ages 7 and 9. Sergei was extremely warm and inviting while very informative on the tour. We were able to take our time and not rush thru. We got amazing views and pictures. We toured the basilica and saw the sacred Black Madonna statue and did a short hike to Creu de Sant Miguel for gorgeous panoramic views. We hit up the market afterwards for some cheese and local delights. Highly recommend!
