Montserrat Private Tour With Hotel Pick-up From Barcelona

A must tour when visiting Barcelona. The whole experience was amazing from the time of pick up to the drop off. Our guide, Ramon, was very enthusiastic in sharing his knowledge not just of Montserrat but of Sagrada Familia and Barcelona. From the moment we left our hotel en route to Montserrat, he was already telling us some fun facts about Barcelona. In continued when we arrived Montserrat, taking pictures of the group. He made sure the group was comfortable the whole time. He made the tour memorable for us and will definitely consider this company again when booking.

Whit his history background fluent in English, Latin and Greek, with his knowledge of the history of Barcelona and Monserrat and it was just a speculation experience!!! Absolutely beautiful area. Javi our guide was very knowledgeable and flexible with what we wanted to do. Husband walks with a cane and had no problems in navigating the area. Museum wasn't crowded and very interesting. Would have loved to do the funicular, but rainy day.

Very glad we took this trip. Just going up into the mountains via the cable car was a great experience. The view was awesome, the church and the Black Madonna were so memorable and moving.

This was an absolutely amazing tour and day spent with Alba. From the wonderful welcome at the hotel lobby, my wife spent the afternoon and evening with one of the most amazing guides and persons that we were so fortunate to meet. From Barcelona, we drove up to Montserrat with a great recounting of the history of the city, countryside and the mountains. Alba knows the area and it's histroy so well and her enthusiasm in sharing it with us terrific. Arriving at Montserrat, the walking tour with Alba was the best we have ever had. The tour of the village, our walking into the Basilica, paying our deep respects to the Mother Mary and the lighting of candles for our families, was all deeply moving. The even was capped off by a ride down the mountain in the cable car. Meeting Alba there, she drove us back to Barcelona and the hotel. No amount of thanks and deep appreciation can full capture how much this day meant to us. Thank you Alba and to all at the tour group!

An absolutely beautiful tour spent with Alba! The tour from Barcelona started at the hotel lobby with Alba meeting us and ushering us into the Mercedes minivan. From Barcelona, the drive to Montserrat was filled with a great recounting of the history of the area. Arriving in Montserrat, Alba gave us one of the best tours of this amazing location. Out walking and talking through the Basilica, around the village, in paying our respects to the Mother Mary, and lighting candles for our families…made this day so special. Our evening was capped off with a cable car ride to the bottom and meeting Alba and returning to Barcelona. The day and tour was the best ever! Thank you.

The ride to Monserrat was impressive. Our guide Luis was very knowledgeable with information of the history of Spain and the Abby. Once we arrived we found the location very challenging. The parking lot is a distance and the walk is uphill. The black Madonna is in the Cupola of the church and requires climbing many stairs. It's a beautiful location, worth the visit. Just be prepared for the challenge if you have difficulty walking.

Our trip to Montserrat was so memorable! The landscape beautiful….and the site spiritual. My husband and I purchased a solo trip, so it was just us and our guide, Marta. She was prompt (even suggested we go an hour earlier to beat the crowds, which thankfully we did) , friendly, and extremely knowledgeable! Very considerate; always asking if we were enjoying the trip and what we wished to do. Very flexible too. She’s the one that made it all perfect! We highly recommend this journey to Montserrat!

An absolutely amazing trip to Montserrat with Ramon as our guide. The scenery is stunning but the basilica is a very spiritual and special place to visit. I am not religious but the entire place felt very spiritual and peaceful for me. Ramon is an excellent guide, teacher, historian and made the trip full of information and meaningful. His love for Montserrat is obvious and I felt lucky to have him as our guide. There was a small amount of walking but there are ramps if you cannot do stairs. Highly recommend this trip! Mario was our tour guide and driver to Montserrat Monastery. He is a safe driver. Being from Argentina, he offered unique insights to these two Spanish speaking cultures. Like our other guide, Joris, he has a university background and interesting hobbies. I have some mobility challenges. Try to get there as early as possible because the buses arrive late morning and it gets very crowded. Marcel was an awesome tour guide.

Once we reached Montserrat, he knew exactly where to go at what time to see everything and avoid long lines. Marcel is very friendly and knowledgeable and has a passion for the location. This was an outstanding tour. Liuis was an excellent tour guide and driver. He was extremely knowledgeable and informative and the views were phenomenal once the fog burned off. We were pressed for time and only did the 1/2 day but you could easily have spent several more hours exploring the mountain and the museums.

Not this provider . Booked a tour to monserrat not just a transport . Contract was pick up at 8:30 but he texted that he will come at 9:00 so the artival was rushed thru the church as there was a mass starting .. then we are on our own .. itinerary included a walking tour but it did not happen .

We have taken many private day trips in the past 7 years through trip advisor and Viator. This is the first bad review I’ve written. The issue was the guide. He was 30 minutes earlier than we booked and complained we only booked half a day. He did not explain or communicate the changes in the schedule. He did not seem to care about our needs or interests. He was there to get the job over with. Hello talked so quietly that we had a difficult time hearing him in the van. He did not explain that we had to quickly walk by the Black Madonna per rules resulting in us getting barked at by guards. We are rule followers. The issues were his fault. There was no connection that we were the customers. He ruined the experience for us.

Joan did a wonderful job explaining the importance of this monastery to the Catalan people. He allowed us the flexibility to do what we wanted. We had an early viewing time of the Black Madonna and then we watched the movie and exhibits about Montserrat. We then chose to attend Mass. The art museum was very good as well. Full and great day!

My wife and I booked a private tour of the Montserrat Monastery. The booking process was easy and the tour company, Viator, was prompt with communications. Our guide, Alba, was amazing! Loaded with knowledge, she gave us great information, but was very conscious to not overwhelm us with too much! She was very personable and we felt connected with her. We highly recommend her and her company.
