This was a lovely tour! So much history and beauty to be inspired from. The monastery in Monserrat is stunning with many tucked away chapels throughout the mountain. Take the cable car up/down - it’s worth it. Sitges is a beautiful coastal quaint town. Again filled with history dating back to 1800’s. If you can, try a restaurant that is in one of the narrow streets - it’s more local and less touristy. And don’t skip getting gelato and horchata at La Jijonenca del carrer major!! Lastly, our tour guy David is the BEST!! He is full of enthusiasm and passion! He’s warm, friendly, patient and professional! He is so knowledgeable with the history and geography throughout our tour. We are so happy we added these two cities to our trip!

Passeig de gracia is a very central and convinient location and Barcelona’s most elegant boulevard, where modernist masterpieces and bautiful boutiques create a vibrant, stylish atmosphere. Admire Gaudí’s iconic Casa Batlló with its colorful, dreamlike façade, and continue to Casa Milà, the striking stone building known as La Pedrera. Discover the unique blend of art, architecture, and sophistication that makes this avenue one of the city’s most unforgettable highlights. Transport from Barcelona to Montserrat is around 1 hour. The transport will be in a comfortable air conditioned van.
Discover the spiritual heart of Montserrat as you visit the historic Benedictine Monastery, a sanctuary that has welcomed pilgrims for centuries. Explore the peaceful Atrium and step inside the impressive Basilica. Surrounded by sacred art, ancient chapels and a serene atmosphere, this visit offers a deep connection to the cultural and religious heritage of Catalonia. Guided tour in the Monastery.
Enjoy a gentle walk in the mountain. Montserrat’s mountain landscape is a natural wonder shaped by millions of years of erosion, creating its iconic rounded peaks and dramatic cliffs. As you walk through its paths, you’ll discover rich Mediterranean vegetation and encounter native wildlife such as wild goats, eagles and many bird species. This unique blend of geology, flora and fauna makes Montserrat an extraordinary place for nature lovers. After the walk you will have 45 minutes free time to discover the traditional farmers market and cafeterias. Easy walk in the mountain
After the transport from Montserrat to Sitges, enjoy a pleasant lunch in one of the many options of Sitges old town (own expense). The guide will give you indications (vegan and gluten free options available). Nestled along the sun‑kissed Mediterranean coast, Sitges is one of Catalonia’s most captivating seaside towns. Its historic streets, elegant modernist architecture, and vibrant cultural scene create an atmosphere that feels both relaxed and full of character. Just a short walk from the old town lies Sant Sebastià Beach, an authentic local treasure known for its calm waters and breathtaking views of the iconic Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla church. This sheltered bay offers the perfect blend of tradition and tranquility, ideal for travelers seeking a genuine coastal experience. Whether you’re strolling the promenade, enjoying fresh seafood, or simply soaking in the golden light, Sitges invites you to slow down and savor every moment.
On this guided tour, we begin at the Racó de la Calma, a peaceful spot where the sea gently meets the historic heart of Sitges. Here, you’ll feel the quiet charm that has inspired artists for generations. From there, we continue to the elegant Palau Maricel, an architectural jewel that blends Mediterranean beauty with artistic heritage. As we explore its surroundings, you’ll learn how this cultural landmark shaped the town’s identity. Finally, we arrive at the Church of Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla, the iconic symbol of Sitges, rising proudly above the coastline. Throughout the tour, you’ll discover the authentic spirit, history and timeless beauty that define this remarkable seaside town.
Trasnport from Montserrat to Barcelona is around 1 hour. The transport will be in a comfortable air conditioned van. You will end your tour at the same meeting point. The Garraf Coastal Road is one of the most scenic routes in Catalonia. Winding between steep cliffs and the Mediterranean Sea, it offers dramatic views. Each turn reveals a new stretch of blue horizon, making the journey as unforgettable as the destination.

Jordin, our guide was informing and professional. Our group of 8 felt like we were watched over regarding safety at all times. I chose not to go on the one hour hike to the chapel and cross because it was a little steep in places. I would highly recommend this tour.
The tour guide, Jordi, was awesome! Best tour guide we’ve ever had. The tour was great but the hiking climb at Montserrat is not as easy as indicated. There are some steep inclines that older folks will find challenging.
This was an excellent full-day tour with our guide, David. He was incredibly knowledgeable about every area we visited, and his enthusiasm was contagious. His English was perfect, and his cheerful personality made the whole experience even better. We learned so much about Montserrat, the monastery, and Sitges. We were lucky to witness a celebration at the monastery, which made the visit even more special. David guided us up the mountain to breathtaking views and shared fascinating insights along the way. In Sitges, he knew all the right spots to take us, and we thoroughly enjoyed each stop. The van was spacious and comfortable, and we felt completely safe with his driving—we even dozed off on the way back! Highly recommend this tour and David—he truly loves what he does, and it shows.
Very good tour and tour guide (Alan) for both places, scenic roads, recommendations for free time, etc.
James really looked after us well. His passion for his country and knowledge made this trip. You would be lucky to have him as your guide! The mountains were incredible and Sitges was glorious. All well timed and would recommend!
This day trip was amazing and perfect to experience a little bit of Barcelona outside of the city. The basilica of Monserrat was stunning and learning about its history was insightful. Next stop, Sitges was a quaint seaside town with lots of history. James or Javme (in Catalan) our tour guide was fantastic. All in all, a wonderful and well worth it experience. Thank you!
We had a great day tour with Jordi. He is very knowledgeable and funny. So close to Barcelona and yet so different, you won’t regret taking this day trip. I wouldn’t call the hike necessarily easy. I’d give it a 6/10 on the hard scale. I expected a 3😝 given the “easy” description. Montserrat and Sitges are so different. I was so pleased to see both mountain and sea in the same day as an escape from the bustling city of Barcelona.
We had a fabulous day with Alan touring Monserrat and Sitges. Pick up was right on time, good location, and timing avoided big, big crowds. Alan shared valuable insights about history, landscape, nature, etc. he made the tour special. And the sights were breathtaking. Best tour!
Our tour guide was incredible and chatted with us the entire time! He was very educated on the area and told us anything we could have wanted to know. It was so much fun and we absolutely loved Sitges and the warm weather! It was a lovely trip and I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
We had an awesome experience with our guide Alan. He had knowledge and patience with our group. His recommendations and comments were right on the money. Montserrat and Sitges are a must see attractions if you visit Barcelona
We had an amazing trip with Viator. Right from the meeting point with Alan. We were impressed with his knowledge of the monastery as well as basic history of Barcelona. We would highly recommend this trip. Alan also had umbrellas and ponchos for everyone…which was greatly appreciated!!
The basilica at Montserat was incredibly beautiful, it makes me want to go back and spend more time in this part of Spain. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, I definitely recommend this excursion!
I really enjoyed this tour with Alan. He is such a great guide. It is really worth it and I highly recommend the whole experience. Thank you!
James was awesome! We had a great day. It was really nice to be in a small group. Our family of 3 includes my 6 year old son. He said it was his favorite day yet. We went to Sitges and Montserrat.
One of our best days in Spain. We loved to tour. Monserrat is gorgeous, and Sitges is a beautiful city next to the beach. Our guide James was excellent, one of our best guides. He did not rush the tour and was very knowledgeable. Amazing experience, highly recommended.
This was an excellent day trip from Barcelona. The guide (David) was fantastic - very knowledgeable and approachable and made the trip enjoyable for everyone! I was only visiting Barcelona for a few days and was initially unsure whether I wanted to take a whole day trip out of the city, however I’m so glad I did. Montserrat and Sitges are both beautiful and next time I’m in the area I will definitely arrange to spend a day or two in Sitges. Highly recommend this trip.
We did this trip with Alan which it actually ended up just being my husband, myself and Alan which did this trip and Alan did a really good job showing us everything and explaining everything and it was nice turning out to be like a private tour for us. With the hike Alan was knowledgeable about the plants which I am a plant lover and nice to learn what plants are in Spain
Both places are very different from each other. Personally I liked Sitges. It was kind of refreshing after been in very touristic Barcelona. The monastery has excellent views and it was quiet interesting. The tour guide was informative and kind. He did an excellent job.
James was a great guide and went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied. Montserrat was scenic and we were given time to enjoy ourselves. It was fascinating to go to Sitges after as it was so different.
Was able to attend the 11am mass at the Basilica. Our guide Alan was very pleasant and accommodating.
What a 5 star experience. Our tour guide James was amazing. He provided a wealth of information while allowing time to enjoy the whole experience. I would definitely recommend this tour. A great break from the big city.
David was a great guide, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and so friendly. It was a great day and one I would highly recommend for being two very different but interesting places, both rich with history. Hike is not difficult, but it is uphill, so be prepared. Amazing views and photo opportunities.
James did a great job driving us to and from this tour. He was also a very friendly and informative guide and the location is majestic. Definite recommend!
Our guide, David was amazing! He knew a lot about Montserrat and Sitges, and he was so enthusiastic to share what he knows. He was very kind and pleasant to make us feel very welcomed. He knows all the hidden spots, what to look for, what to try (at the market) etc. David make the whole day very special experience. David let us freely choose a restaurant to eat lunch at Sitges, which was great. Because another day trip we took from different company to Girona, the guide took us to a not too good restaurant.
This is an excellent day trip with small groups so that you get a lot of information and attention from the guide. I had been to Montserrat numerous times, but never to Sitges. I liked the pairing of this trip a lot. I traveled solo, but the group was so small that I quickly made friends. Our guide, Alan, was a great guide with an incredible sense of humor and a deep love of nature. He was so good that as he was giving explanations, two times people in our group stopped to ask him questions. This shows how much he loves his job and his expertise. I really enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it.
I would easily recommend this tour for anyone who enjoys short hikes and loves nature. Our tour guide, Alan, was very knowledgeable, friendly, patient and safety conscious. In case you are thinking of brining a little one, our 4-year old managed to walk up and down the trail (but we did have a compact stroller for when she got tired). We went in late February and the beach weather at Sitges was great, though I wouldn’t dare go for a swim.
It was an amazing trip! James was really kind he made sure to explain all the details about the place. The views made the hike even better and more enjoyable🏃🏽♀️. I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting Barcelona you will never regret it.
Trip in very good and guide/driver is very friendly and gave lot of info. I really enjoyed the trip and I will recommend.
Was a great day group was small and the tour guide was very knowledgeable gave adequate time at each stop took different route to and from so the drive was a lot of fun as well
I've never taken a tour before but we thought we would give this a try since it went to two places I was interested in seeing. We loved it. The scenery and views were great from Montserrat. Going from there to Sitges made a perfect day. We had a relaxing lunch on the water and than walked around the old parts of Sitges. I have to say that Alan our tour guide was excellent. He not only was a wealth of information but had a great, friendly personality.
This was such a fun excursion. We loved our guide David. He was fun and friendly. The mountain was gorgeous and we got some great photos thanks to the amazing weather. It was lovely to get out of the city and breathe the fresh air.
Fantastic day learning from David. He made sure to point additional things out during our drives and took such great care of us all day. Would recommend this tour to anyone interested in Montserrat and wanting to see something different!
A wonderful tour. Issac set just the right mood for the history of each place. Some were more light hearted and some more somber. He kept the tour entertaining and informative.
So glad we chose this trip. Alan was an informative, friendly guide who communicated easily with our group of 8. He coordinated the Spanish and English instruction alternating with photo opportunities to make the best use of all our time. The views on the hike at Montserrat are so memorable. The hike can be steep in some sections but most of the group managed and the one that wasn't comfortable with the steeper parts easily sat out to be picked up later. Sitges was a very beautiful seaside view and the drive back to Barcelona was on a winding coastal road with a view as well. The seafood lunch we had was delicious and we ate quickly so we could wade in the water for a short time. Sitges is a quieter location than Barcelona and I would like to spend more time there. Alan was great with recommendations and we had a memorable day.
This is a lovely day trip from Barcelona. Monserrat is well worth the trip. Just be advised for anyone with limited walking ability, there is some uphill walking involved and steps. But worth the effort. The church is beautiful. There is a museum that is easy to miss, but with a very fine collection of artwork, much larger collection that you'd think because it's downstairs. Gorgeous scenery. The trip to Sitges was also a delightful chance to see the coast. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant.
10/10 would recommend. Montserrat and Sitges are gorgeous, historically important sites worth visiting. An absolute must for anyone visiting Barca. Jaume/Jamie was very patient and chill. Worth noting that management needs to reassess the timing. The “full day” is 8am-5pm but trying to come back for 5 is too rushed due to the painfully slow service at any/all restaurants in Sitges. Our group had to rush to eat, had to literally run to be on time to meet and got our desserts for takeaway. The other girls on the tour ended up not having a full lunch at all due to running out of time. It would be much better if they’d just end for 6pm instead to allow the scheduled walking tours AND a proper lunch. Or even better, meet at 7am so that we arrive to Montserrat earlier before the hordes descend. By the time we arrived, the parking lot had over a dozen mega-buses and was already crawling with people.
Our guide was exceptional. His knowledge and personality were beyond good. A lovely day in all Sitges was a nice stop to end our day
Very professional, Farrun our driver was very knowledgeable of the area, the hike downhill as a senior citizen was a little difficult but Farrun made sure we had good stops in the shade as it was hot, really enjoyed Montserrat, Sitges ok but too hot without much shade.
Our best tour from Barcelona so far. Montserrat was majestic, Citges was beautiful. Our guide was great - sensitive to high heat (95+), prompt, friendly, informative and with the sense of humor. My biggest regret - I did not get his name. I am blaming this on the heat😎
Very friendly guide and beautiful place. I chose not to do the hike, cannot comment on it. Sitges is the best beach! Perfect for children
We had an amazing day with our guide David. There were only 6 in our group and he was able to personalise his commentary. He was friendly and helpful and provided a very entertaining day. The Monastery was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon in Sitges.
Excellent full day out, would definitely recommend. Tour guide was 1st class. Both parts of tour were very interesting. Need trainers/closed in shoes for the walking
Areas of sitges and Montserrat are gorgeous. Well worth the trip. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend this tour.
Are tour operator gave us a great time without rushing us we felt it we really had plenty of time to see everything we wanted to see he did a excellent job!!!
Jaume* was a lovely guide. We enjoyed his succinct explanations at each of the sites and he was also good company during the hike down Montserrat. I felt the entire day tour was perfectly timed - not too rushed, and not too much time spent in any one place. Highly recommended! *I hope I spelled his name correctly!! Apologies if I haven't...
We had a great time on this Monastery tour and hike at Mont Serrate and then onto the seaside town of Sitges. Our tour guide David was amazing!
Great tour and our guide David was so knowledgeable and interesting. Well organized, comfortable van, would highly recommend! A bit of a long day to include Sitges but overall, a wonderful tour
The entire day was enjoyable. Getting to Montserrat early before it was crowded was great. Our guide was very patient with a slower moving group. The afternoon by the sea was also great. I liked having free time for lunch before the tour of the old town.
Alan, our guide for the day (14.04.2023), was fluent in English, professional and made our tour very pleasant, exchanging a wealth of history and information about Montserrat and Sitges. The walk from the mountain back to the monastery might be a bit exhausting but Alan made sure that we took it at an easy pace. The mountain views and terrain around Montserrat are breathtaking and worth the visit. The town of Sitges is more relaxed and tranquil. Although being small, offers a wealthy culture, historical sight and lovely beaches. This tour should not be missed. Thank you Alan for a very pleasant and enjoyable day.
