What a perfect day we had on this tour. Since we had been in Barcelona a couple of times, we wanted to try something different. Our guide, Juan, was so knowledgeable about the area plus it was obvious he had a deep love and respect for nature. This tour combined hiking, sightseeing, and shopping, it was well coordinated and honestly just fun. There were only 8 of us the group so it was just perfect. I highly recommend this tour.
Juan and Jordin were wonderful tour guides. We are glad we decided to go to Montserrat with a guide as opposed to by ourselves. It is a beautiful place to visit. The views are spectacular. I would highly recommend it!
Well organized, interesting, exactly what we were looking for. Just enough information, beautiful views, excellent tour guie
Beautiful church. Funicular is a fun ride. Great scenery. Prepare for crowds, even in shoulder season.
Great tour, James our guide was excellent. Very good driver (which is hard to find in Spain). Tour was excellent and really nice with just 8 people. James was very knowledgeable. Would do it again!
Everyone should be so lucky to have a guide like Frank he was amazing. We did the hike with him and it was fantastic. We’re comfortable shoes we did.
Our host Frank was awesome! Great driver, very knowledgeable, flexible! Pick up worked out as well!! I’d absolutely recommend this tour and Frank as your host!!
Guide was a very nice guy. Was foggy when we arrived, but fog burnt off during our visit and we saw everything before we left
Very nice; good guides Juan and Michael.
Our guide was amazing. He was so knowledgeable. He gave us the history, took us on a beautiful hike. We could have listened to him for hours. He was very accommodating as well.
The tour was informative although the grounds and especially the church are small. We were to ride the funicular and gentle walk which was cancelled. The guide took the group on an hour hike. As I could not go I was left to fend for myself for an hour.
Our tour guide Juan was excellent. So glad we had a guide because I wouldn’t want to do this on our own. We did the half day and it was enough time to see everything. The mountains are something to see. The black Madonna was really magical.
Juan was a fantastic tour guide. Very knowledgeable, friendly, excellent driver, interesting. Also very aware at all times of everyone's whereabouts and comfort. One of our best tours of our trip
Great Tour! our guide was knowledgeable and personable! he made sure everyone in the hike down was okay. He was able to engage with the group and had a lot of historic information. the hike was a little hard for me because some parts was just steep but our guide was there to help us. the views were amazing! a must see!
Had a nice sunny day to experience a drive up Montserrat. Jaun was a great tour guide and provided some nice insights into the history and culture of Barcelona. He was entertaining and definitely made the tour much more enjoyable. Highly recommend the tour and be sure to request Jaun as your guide. Despite being restricted from some activities due to local fires Juan added a walk through the museum, recommendation to ride the cable car down and even drove us around to see the north face.
We loved our tour of Montserrat! Our guide, Juan, was so knowledgeable of the area. The only disappointment was that we were not able to ride the funicular because of the high fire danger in the area! Highly recommend seeing Montserrat!
Jordi is a very nice tour guide who shows us around and tell interesting stories about the Montserrat. And he drives very safe and comfortable. Very good!!
Fantastic experience! Jesus was a fantastic guide. Super friendly and super knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the entire experience and learned a lot!
Our guide Juan was punctual and professional. He made the whole experience wonderful. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
Excellent tour specially for religious oriented families. The views from Montserrat are spectacular. Be prepared with hiking shoes and comfortable clothing. Our guide Jordy was very knowledgeable and and funny
Montserrat is a glorious place. We were very glad that we chose a morning tour that combined a visit to the monastery with a guided walk in nature.
It’s fabulous! Jesus is extremely knowledgeable. He knew so much about the history of Montserrat Monastery, but also the flora & fauna along the trail.
Beautiful and interesting trip! Guides were knowledgeable and helpful, timely, and the van was comfy. We took the funicular up and hiked around and down. It was absolutely do-able for an average fitness middle aged person, but you do walk downhill on long slopes of paved paths without stairs and your toes slide to the tips of your running shoes jamming like that for long periods of walking. Wear well-fitting shoes with good treads!
Monserrat is a much see! This experience allowed us plenty of time to experience the culture and beauty of the church while also allowing us to experience the beauty of the national park surrounding it. Jesus, our guide, was perfect. He was knowledgeable, patient, and entertaining. I could not have asked for a better experience! Do this tour!
The views are breathtaking! The "gentle" hike was not so gentle for some of us, but our guide was very accommodating and paced the group for the two of us that had to take breaks (due to head injuries). I highly recommend this tour.
Very informative and fun. A little bit of everything, Basílica, Montserrat detailed overview and a great hike. Our guides were phenomenal with their knowledge and fun facts. We had two small groups which was perfect to hear our guide with only 8 people per group.
This excursion was one of the best things we did in Barcelona. Jesus was our tour guide. He was very kind and informative. The day of our excursion there was a charity race so the funicular was closed. He told us at the start we could do the 1 hour hike as planned with an extra 1 hour of free time or do a 2 hour extended hike. He went above & beyond to offer to extend the hike which we did. I’m glad the funicular was closed for the wonderful experience we had with nature and the picturesque views. Also, it was great exercise. He was also very patient helping those who were a little slower on the trail. It was a fun day!
Our guide Frank was great. Very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. Would definitely recommend
Jordi was absolutely fabulous! He was so knowledgeable and answered all of the groups questions, He went above and beyond to explain the area and meaning to us. I 1000% would recommend this tour to others and really was one of the highlights of our European vacation.
Fantastic half-day trip to Montserrat! Guide Juan was super informative on the drive there in a comfortable air-conditioned van. Small group and early arrival made for such a better experience. Don't miss it.
Our guide was wonderful! He was considerate of the passengers in the car and drove conservatively. No fast turns, a gentle ride all around. It was very important considering all the switchbacks on the road. He was very informative and made sure we were all there when moving to another area. We would highly recommend Juan!
Jordi and Mark were great! They were very informative and friendly. We had the option to walk up or take the funicular, which was great. Loved the farmers market. As much as we hated getting up early, it was really wise to get the early start to beat the crowd.
If you are visiting Barcelona Spain you must experience the Monsterrat monastery, The Bascillia and the beautiful mountains it is built into.
Good trip, we explored Montserrat and learned about the history and geography of the area. Very nice views along hiking trail.
Everything felt very relaxed and well-paced, and Uni made the whole experience easy to enjoy from start to finish. The mix of nature and historical context made it much more meaningful than a typical tour. It was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Barcelona
We did the 8:00am tour with Frank. He is so incredibly knowledgeable about the area. We were originally hesitant to choose this tour because many reviews were from those 70+. We are in our 30’s and we were similar members in our group and had a great time. Perfect weather and the walk down from the top of the funicular was enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking. By the time we left it was crazy busy but because we got there early we got to enjoy it slightly quieter.
Great experience. We highly recommend. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun. Our best tour while visiting Barcelona.
Wonderful day trip to Montserrat! Juan was incredibly knowledgeable, likeable, professional, and made the experience significantly more rewarding. Highly recommend this half day getaway to Montserrat.
Jesus guided us on a beautiful journey to the mountains and monastery. After a few days wandering busy Barcellona, it was nice to escape to nature and fresh air! The story of the black Madonna is very moving and the church is filled with gold, candles, and artwork. The funicular was fun and not as scary as it looks. We did about an hour of walking down one of the many trails and enjoyed spectacular views, ending by the fresh local farmer’s market in front of the monastery. Jesus was an excellent driver, very important on those curvy mountain roads!
Beautiful views, amazing history and a great guide. Frank had all the knowledge I needed learning about Montserrat and the monastery. He was a great guide on the walk down pointing out flora and fauna and was super funny too. Just a great day seeing a beautiful place.
Very friendly and knowledgeable
Wonderful location with a interesting tour guide, Uni. He took us at a pace we enjoyed, taking time to explain everything. His driving was also very comfortable. Great value for money and almost like a private tour with 5 people.
Fantastic trip to Monserrat. Jesus was wonderful, knowledgeable, and friendly. He was a terrific guide. Enjoyed the funicular to the top and the walk down.
The funicular was sooo fun! Only a 6 min ride but VERY steep and mind-boggling! Our guides, Jesus and Jordi, were kind, good drivers, and full of information. We truly enjoyed hanging out with them for the day. Highly recommend this tour to get a taste of Monserrat. You can't see it all in 6 hours, but you'll see a lot and have a good visit.
Our guide for this trip was Frank. A 50 ish minute drive out of Barcelona to Monserrat. Arriving the clouds covered the valley which was awesome to see, a pure memory moment. Breath taking. Franks knowledge, passion was simply brilliant. He captivated the tour group with historical stories. We would never have got this level of detail from walking around ourselves. He kept saying, come this way you’ll get a better view, go there you’ll see this. Always on hand to answer questions and talk. A great guide, who clearly knew what he was talking about. Monserrat is a gorgeous monastery, filled with history and stunning buildings and scenery. I’m so glad we booked this tour. Frank was fabulous.
We went with Uni on a nice, sunny day in October. The drive was fairly short and he drove us around the mount so we could see it from all sides. He told us just the right amount of information at the stops at the monastery and long the walk. The walk was mostly along a wide path but we diverted to a hiking trail which was a bit slippery in a couple spots. Overall a great tour with a great guide. Thanks Uni! The only improvement I could think of is to make it clear we are meeting on the sidewalk in front of the address provided.
Great excursion excellent guide…. You do have to walk back down to the monastery, so be prepared to walk down.😏😎
The drive went smoothly. Mother nature decided not to wake up and kept her sleepy eyelids closed =!-lots of fog. & unable to see mountain views. Due to prior rain some rocks falling, funicular was non operable. The sun did come out towards the end of our hike. The monastery & surroundings are beautiful. It was a good day nonetheless.
Phenomenal! Our guide was knowledgeable and reassuring when weather looked bad that the sun will come out. The funicular wasn’t working so we walked up to the cross and it was invigorating. I’m 72 yo fairly fit female and made it!
