Amazing experience! The cogwheel train ride was beautiful, and Montserrat was absolutely breathtaking. The tour was well organized, and the e-book was a great bonus. Highly recommended!

Montserrat is a stunning mountain located in Catalonia, famous for its unique rock formations and the Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat, home to the revered statue of the Virgin of Montserrat, also known as "La Moreneta." The mountain is a spiritual and cultural destination, drawing visitors to admire its natural beauty, religious heritage, and local art. In addition to the monastery, Montserrat offers scenic trails that reveal panoramic views of the surroundings and an atmosphere of tranquility. The best way to reach it is by cogwheel train, providing a charming journey through the mountainous landscape and a unique, memorable experience.
The Montserrat Monastery, located in the mountains of Catalonia, is one of Spain's most important religious destinations. Founded in the 11th century, the monastery is famous for housing the statue of the "Virgin of Montserrat," or "La Moreneta," the patron saint of Catalonia and an object of deep devotion. The monastic complex combines impressive architecture with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, creating an atmosphere of peace and contemplation. In addition to its spiritual significance, the monastery features a historic library, a museum with works by renowned artists, and the Escolania de Montserrat boys’ choir, one of the oldest in Europe. It is a place that unites faith, culture, and nature, offering an enriching experience for visitors from around the world.
Our Lady of Montserrat, known as "La Moreneta" due to her dark complexion, is one of the most venerated images in Spain and the patron saint of Catalonia. The statue of the Virgin of Montserrat, dating back to the 12th century, is located in the Montserrat Monastery in the Catalonian mountains and attracts pilgrims and visitors seeking blessings and spiritual inspiration. Depicted holding the Child Jesus on her lap and a sphere in her hand, symbolizing the universe, the figure is surrounded by stories of miracles and local legends. Her significance goes beyond religious devotion, also serving as a cultural and identity symbol for the Catalan people. La Moreneta is celebrated in various festivities and is an essential part of Montserrat’s spiritual and cultural heritage.

Great trip...Great guides...good food...beautiful scenery
Do not book with this company. Scammed out of $700. Booked a tour. Got to the meet site. Nobody ever heard of the company or the tour. Talked to the tour operator on site, was told that we were not the first with this experience. Good luck trying to get an answer from the company.
Absolutely amazing experience! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so many fascinating stories about Montserrat and its history. The views from the monastery were breathtaking, and we even got to hear the boys' choir, which was truly moving. The pace was perfect — not rushed, but we saw everything. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Barcelona!
This tour exceeded my expectations. Montserrat is such a peaceful and spiritual place, and the guided experience made it even more special. Our guide was friendly, professional, and full of insights that brought the place to life. Everything was well-organized, from pickup to drop-off. A must-do if you want to experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of Catalonia
One of the highlights of my trip to Spain! The drive from Barcelona was comfortable, and the scenery was stunning. Montserrat itself is awe-inspiring — the mountains, the monastery, the Black Madonna... all unforgettable. Our guide kept the group engaged and made sure we didn’t miss a thing. I would definitely recommend this tour to friends and family.
this is a tour on a bus with other people, which is fine. However, there wasn’t really a tour as much as it was just dropping you off at the top of the mountain and then telling you when to meet at the bus later. The tour guides used the Buss microphone to talk which was muffled and loud. Also, our bus had no air conditioning on the way back, so it was miserable.
The tour company changed the meeting place less then 24 hours before trip and never emailed us. Then blamed us for not getting there email and missing the trip. This was not how a company that works through trip advisor should handle themselves. They yelled at us when we called to ask where they were. It was horrible. If this is they type of company trip advisor works with then won’t be using trip advisor again.
It was wonderful … What an amazing place!!! Just be sure you allow lots of time there .. as it has so much to see and do!
