It was great to see the remnants of what once a thriving Jewish community. Our tour guide, Jon, was personable, very well prepared, and friendly. Please note that while this tour was not described as a walking tour it was. Lots of hilly narrow streets. If you have a mobility issue this tour is not for you.

Miriana was excellent - interesting and friendly. I liked the pace of the tour. There was a variety of experiences
Please refund money The guide knew nothing about the topic And the temple was closed. This was the biggest waste of time and money
Very knowledgeable person gave full history of the area. Took into account age and ability of the group and gaged her pace accordingly
First Roger went to wrong hotel. Second he had us walk to Jewish Quarter rather than take included transportation ( my wife uses a walker). Then his knowledge seemed minimal. I do not recommend this tour.
Nicest, most lovely guide ever but not enough of a Jewish imprint to warrant this tour. Or, the price should have been 1/2 what it was as it was barely 90 minutes and only went to one place of significance. Not fault of guide but there is just not enough to see to warrant a tour.
This was extremely disappointing and we found the guide uninformed and antisemitic. I don’t think it is fair to offer this tour unless you have a more sensitive and knowledgeable guide. For what it was it was vastly overpriced
Guide was very nice but really didn’t seem that knowledgeable about the tours subject matter. She seemed a bit unfamiliar with the Jewish quarter layout, etc
Roger was very good with the history, but he was 10 minutes late getting us and was going to leave us at the old synagogue. When we told him we had no idea where we were and how to get back to the hotel, he took us to a square and said “your hotel is right over there.” We wondered around for half an hour before we found our way back. Turned out he was correct. We turned the wrong direction. He should have been more sensitive to our expressing that we were not oriented. I don’t care where the tour is scheduled to end. You don’t leave too old people who are disoriented on a very hot day. We were so close to the hotel. He could have taken the 5 minutes to walk us back. Since he was late, he really owed us the time!
Excellent Guide. Daniel made the tour memorable for my wife and me. We loved his personal stories and how he related these stories to the historic Jewish Community. He was so patient and careful with us as we climbed the stairs and maneuvered around the winding streets. Very impressive tour and very impressive guide, In our 50 years plus travels in Europe and Asia. thjs tour ranks in the top of the list. It helped make the historic Jewish section as well as the city of Lisbon come alive in so many ways. We wish Daniel could lead tours for us in other cities and in other major attractions. Donald and Shari Rosenberg. Ridgecrest, California
Knowledgeable and very friendly tour guide but not as much substance on the purpose of the tour as we had expected for the topic
Disappointing. No real context to how Jews fit inside of Spain’s recent history just the Inquisition. And our guide was rushed from the beginning to get to another tour. He had no pictures or graphs. His English was fair so understanding terms was hard. He only listened to me and missed a lot of what my husband asked. He also didn’t connect obvious Hebrew connections to terms as he didn’t know
Hugo was an excellent guide for our tour of the Jewish Quarter - he was very knowledgeable and easy going.
Seeing the places that are thousands of years old was great. Had an eye opening and interesting time
Our guide did nothing more than read us the plaques He even stopped at the Jewish museum to learn where he should go We were left waiting outside the museum for ten minutes The guide was very uninterested and knew nothing about the topic
Roger was our guide and was very knowledgeable. It included history as far back as the Roman Empire, And the interrelationships of Christianity and the Jewish people.
Our guide was wonderful, but all of the sites you would want to see on this tour have been closed since the pandemic. In truth the tour company should not even offer this tour. It’s unfortunate. Our guide shouldn’t have ever been put in that position and she deserved better as well as five stars for our guide. Zero stars to the tour company that sells this tour.
Roger, our tour guide, was very prompt, friendly, and courteous. He was also very knowledgeable about what relatively little is known about the history of the Jewish Quarter. Jewish life stopped in 1492, but Roger did point out what is left and was very informative.
This tour was excellent. It was a private tour - just me + my 20 yr old son. Marc was our guide. He was very engaging + knowledgable. Everything he discussed was relevant and interesting. He met us at our hotel and brought us to the Jewish Quarter. That was key because a friend of mine never found it when she was there!! I highly recommend this tour. It was the highlight of our stay in Barcelona!
First, our guide, Roger, arrived late and we felt quite rushed throughout the whole tour. He also left us about 15 minutes before the two hours were over. We have been reading about the Jewish community in Barcelona on MUHBA website and discovered that the information he gave us was quite superficial and did not mention that there were two areas where Jews settled and he did not elaborate on some of the important history. He also did not mention that the MUHBA El Call existed. We spent more time with non-Jewish things before we got to the Jewish Quarter.
An efficient and well-designed tour. Just the right amount of info: not too little and not too much.
Ramon was incredibly knowledgeable. We learned so much and the history was fascinating. Terrific tour. So neat to see the old synagogue.
Jorge, our tour guide came on time and picked us up from our hotel as we have been promised. His knowledge about the history and the little streets we walked on was incredible. He was kind, funny and respectful. After our tour ended he even pointed us close by point of interestsas well. We strongly recommend this tour especially with Jorge.
A great wonderful tour in which we learned about the history of the Gothic quarter and the history of the Jewish community that thrived here in the beginnings of this city. Are torgai and Roger was very insightful and patient as we took pictures and asked questions along the way.
Very good and very informative. We felt a little rushed. The guide should speak a little slower, so the guests can understand and store the information. We ate glad we included this tour in our visit.
Marc gave us the most wonderful private walking tour of the Jewish Quarter. It was beyond our expections. We learned SO MUCH and found ourselves steeped in a history we thought we knew all about. We didn't. Emotional and educational, it was also a "back stage" view of life in those times. Marc shared a plethora of history that was astounding to learn. We spent 2 weeks in Barcelona, THIS was one of our most memorable and cherished experiences. So very happy we opted for this. We would have missed so much.
This was a very enjoyable and interesting Walking Tour. Not too long but provides a good understanding of the history of the Jewish Community before 1500 in Barcelona and its integration into the community as well as its isolation.
Manuel collected us at our hotel which was very convenient. He had a incredible knowledge of the Jewish Quarter as well as some facts on Judaism. He was very warm and friendly, pointing out many interesting architectural facts which we would never have noticed.
We booked the 3pm English tour with Mark. The old Jewish section is a convoluted, twisty area so a guide is a must.Informative, comfortable -just us and him. Stopped at the old "synagogue" for a short docent talk and saw some artifacts. Really put us in the mood to visit more 10, 11, 12 century areas
I found this area very interesting as I was unaware of the Jewish connection to Barcelona. I have visited many Jewish historic sights around the world and found this area to be unique
We booked the walking tour and, as advertised, Manu met us promptly in the lobby of our hotel. He expertly escorted us through the fairly confusing Barcelona subway system, keeping us a friendly and informative conversation the whole time. Manu led us through the Jewish Quarter and had a relevant anecdote and moving story for every highlight. He was, as well, open to hearing additional information about some of the symbols and sights that my companion was able to offer. The visit to the historic synagogue was very moving. Manu was able to bring history alive with all of its tragedy in an engaging and objective way. He is to be commended.
I had a private tour with Manu. He was very informative and very personable. I was met at my hotel and we walked to the Jewish quarter discussing Barcelona on the way. Manu told me the history of the Jewish experience as well as the Catalan people. All my questions were answered and I left with a wealth of knowledge.
Went on the tour with Jordi and learned a lot. He was on time, had water for us and was extremely knowledgeable. He was super and he made it so enjoyable to learn the history.
This was one of our favs in Barcelona...Our guide Jordy was adorable and so knowledgeable. Very easy and pleasant and went above and beyond. He really knows his stuff. The sites and Gothic Quarter are a must see!
Our tour guide Emanuele (Manu) must know every fact, historic and current, regarding Barcelona. We took a general walking tour of the Jewish Quarter and Gothic area. He had unlimited knowledge about Jewish history, the Inquisition and changes to the ancient City. I asked too many questions, but he answered them all. In addition, he was concerned about our welfare when it started to rain. He taught us how to use the subway system. He made great recommendations for restaurants, etc. To enjoy Barcelona request Manu for your guide. He loves Barcelona and now we do too.”
The guide,Alan, arrived on time and took us by subway to La Rambla. He didn’t have any set plans. We walked around the area with explanations of the history of Barcelona not specifically the Jewish history. We passed by the synagogue and had I not reminded him tha we were supposed to go inside, he would have just had us walk by. No water or map were provided as stated in the inclusion section
Jordi was a fantastic tour guide! He met us promptly at our hotel and then walked us through the Jewish quarter and surrounding areas, all while imparting the history. He made it very relevant and had extensive knowledge that he was so passionate about. We enjoyed our time with Jordi and would definitely recommend him and this tour!
Jordi was great He was knowledgeable and helpful and very interesting. Thank you for a wonderful tour
