Beautifully crafted sparkling wines and local food await in Ca n’Estella cava winery to captivate your senses while you learn about the region and the fascinating history of the family who runs the cellar. A beautiful 18th century masia (the traditional Catalan country house) presides the estate of this small winery, where they are indeed proud to be small. The winery is currently managed by Anna Vidal, the 3rd generation in this winemaker family to own the estate. It will be on the gorgeous veranda of her very own family house that you will be served traditional cuisine in the shape of local hot and cold tapas, paired with their top quality cava. The winery’s Rabetllat i Vidal cavas and Clot dels Oms wines produced at this cellar have been granted more than a hundred awards in very prestigious national and international competitions, including the Best Chardonnay of the World (Chardonnay du Monde) for its 2011 Gran Clot dels Oms Chardonnay.

Family ownership, historical background and an obsession for local identity, territory and values is just what we look for in an authentic wine maker!

Carla is an knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide.
This was a great day made even better by Yerai's chill Vibes and excellent wine knowledge, he took a group of strangers and made us all have a really memorable experience. I would suggest a little of wine time, but its alot to pack into a dat.
Rebecca was great. Really good trip
We had a great experience and we will rate it 10/10.. Our guide Mariana was amazing .. she was friendly attentive and informative
Our tour guide is so sweet, she was patient with our group and very good at expanding all the wines and also the architecture.
Tour was fantastic. Judit was very knowledgeable, pleasant and informative. She was excellent and made the tour great.
Delpha was a great guide for our tour. I really enjoyed all the recommendations she made. I only wish he had more time at the winery and Monserrat
Alfonso knows his stuff, loves the Spanish culture and loves his wines. That is manifested in a wonderful and thoughtful tour. The tour is accommodating to his guests. Yet he ensures that the guest is also focused on understanding the significance of what they are drinking and visiting as well as ensuring they have a blast! Excellent. 5 out of 5!
Carla was amazing, very enthusiastic, funny, and knowledgeable about Montserrat and the wines. Strongly recommend her.
Javi, Thank you for a day to remember. Your knowledge for history and love for this beautiful country was the best. Your passion for wines and cava and great food was so much fun. You created a memory for a life time. So grateful for you. Wishing you the greatest success in your future. Cheers 🥂
Montse is the best host we have ever had! Funny and helpful! She had great jokes and guided us everywhere. We’ve had a blast because she kept the energy high enough to spread to our hearts
very good guide who explains very well. english is excellent. very kind and loving. enthousiastic. best guide i ever had untill now.
Amazing views. Great insightful information from Maria who was amazing!!!!! The hiking portion of the tour; which is completely optional, was well worth it. Maria did an excellent job through & through, can’t say enough about how great she was.
Javi was a great tour guide. He was able to give us history of the area and took us to a couple of smaller wineries. He also recommended information about my next trip so that was very helpful.
Tour was great. Pol was an awesome tour guide. His knowledge was super. Made the day a great experience Would highly recommend this tour.
Pol, our driver and guide for our private tour, did a fantastic job from pickup at hotel, 2 wineries, and return to hotel. He was very knowledgeable and sharing of his experiences and knew the wines well.
We had a great day! Bel showed us around the Montserrat Monastery and was very attentive, making sure to adapt to our needs. The wines at the winery were exquisite, and the place itself was charming and peaceful. Bel also gave us excellent recommendations for places and restaurants in other cities we’ll be visiting in Spain. Highly recommend!
Best private tour we've ever taken, thanks to Toni. We got to taste (and bring home!) some tremendous wines and Cava, and learned a lot about the history and processes of these award-winning wineries. And all of it was put in the context of the rich cultural history of the area, which Toni knew extremely well. He was a lot of fun, and it was the perfect start to our Barcelona vacation.
Javi was incredible! He was an excellent guide and knew all about the stops and the wine! Hands down the best tour in Barcelona!
Bel was a fantastic guide for our day enjoying wine outside of Barcelona. We had great conversation all day while she educated us on the wines and wineries of the region. The wineries we visited were so special, filled with great history, and were family owned and operated. The car was clean and comfortable - we even had fun getting to share some of our favorite music with Bel. Great day! Would highly recommend, a highlight of our trip to Spain!
Romano had a vast knowledge of all the wine regions of Spain and paired the food and wine perfectly. Would highly recommend him.
Javi was our guide on this fabulous day. We were celebrating a birthday and it was the unforgettable day we wished for. The first winery (fin ca n’Estella) was such a special experience. The Cavas and Chardonnay were incredible and the hospitality (and amazing lunch) made it unlike anything we’ve done before. They even arranged a birthday cake and candles! From the moment he picked us up in Barcelona to the minute we returned home, Javi made this OUR day and we cannot thank him enough. We would highly recommend Javi and Castle Experience. It was easy to book, they communicated well via email and even called the morning of the tour to confirm arrival and details. The day went perfectly. 🙏🏻👏🏻🥰
Today, our wine tasting tour guide wa s Javi Rodriguez. Javi was simply amazing! His knowledge of the art/science of wine making and wine making history of Finca Ca N'Estella and Oller del Mas was matched only by his passion for the wine sampled. What a way to cap off our visit to Barcelona, Spain. Thank you Javi!
Amazing views from the monastery, informative guide Bell and the Team were amazing. Wineries a must with lunch! Comfy shoes
The event was exceptional due to the great tour guide Bell who was very knowledgeable, attentive, friendly and helpful, not to be missed!
This tour was amazing, Toni our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the surrounding landscapes and all the history of these wineries. We learned how wine was made, touring the actual process, kinds of grapes, all the history of the grapes and vineyards. Fascinating!! The wine and cava was delicious as well as the yummy tapas! Definitely worth visiting! Toni was personable, friendly, knowledgeable and we had such a wonderful day! Thank you Toni!
Guille was an excellent guide. Enthusiastic, voice was clear and audible (a big plus) and good history information provided.
Embarking on the cultural rich tour of Spanish wineries was an absolute delight from start to finish. This unforgettable journey offered an exquisite blend of Spanish traditions, delectable tapas, and fine wines that left me in awe. The tour's first highlight was undoubtedly the tantalizing taste of tapas and wine. Each stop at the wineries was a treat for the senses. The rich and diverse flavors of the tapas, paired perfectly with the finest wines, created a culinary experience that was beyond compare. From traditional classics to innovative creations, the dishes presented a true taste of Spain's gastronomic heritage. It was a pleasure to savor the local produce and witness the passion that went into crafting these culinary delights. Beyond the exquisite gastronomy, what set this tour apart was the opportunity to explore the robust countryside and visit non-touristic places. Stepping away from the usual tourist hotspots allowed us to immerse ourselves in the authentic charm of Spain. The serene beauty of the countryside and the encounters with locals truly enriched our understanding of the region's culture and history. Toni, our guide for the tour, was a true gem. His vast knowledge of the winemaking process, the region's history, and Spanish culture made each stop even more engaging. But what truly made Toni stand out was his infectious sense of humor and charming personality. He effortlessly weaved entertaining anecdotes and witty remarks into his narratives, ensuring that every moment was not only informative but also filled with laughter. The tour was thoughtfully curated to provide a perfect balance of entertainment and education. It felt like we were traveling with a close friend who wanted us to experience the best of Spain, avoiding the crowded and commercialized spots. I cannot recommend this tour enough. Whether you are a wine connoisseur, a food enthusiast, a history buff, or simply someone looking for an authentic and immersive cultural experience, this tour caters to everyone's interests. It leaves you with lasting memories and a newfound appreciation for Spanish traditions. In conclusion, the cultural rich tour of Spanish wineries was an impressive and unforgettable journey. The delectable taste of tapas and wine, the exploration of non-touristic places, and the delightful company of our guide, Toni, made this experience truly exceptional. If you're planning a trip to Spain, do yourself a favor and make sure to include this tour in your itinerary. You won't regret it!
Our tour guide was amazing and very informative. Guille is the best. She knows her history of the region and her personality is what made our tour amazing.
Worth every single dollar! If you are visiting Barcelona this tour is a must! Go outside the city - see the mountains of Montserrat and drink the superb wines of Badges and the excellent cavas of Penedes!
Awesome day. Javier picked us up promptly at 10 at our Airbnb. He told us about the city on our 50 minute drive to the first winery - clot dels oms. He took us on a tour of the winery and told us the history. So interesting. We sampled 4 wines/cavas. The women who worked there are so passionate. You can tell they love what they do and their heart is in it. We bought wines to ship back to USA. We also had lovely cheeses and meats with bread. It was a lovely experience. Then we travelled about another hour or so to the next winery. Oller del mas. Again Javier gave us a tour and we had a private tasting room. It was very interesting and lovely. The grapes used at this vineyard were not our favorite and so we didn’t buy any wines here but it was nice to have such a variety throughout the day. Javier then drove us home passing the capital of the region and pointing out interesting sites along the way. It was an awesome day and Javier made it truly special. It was a great day.
If we good give this experience ten stars, we would! Highlight of our two weeks in Spain. Marcel was the perfect mix of education and fun. He is an excellent communicator. The vineyards we visited were beautiful (BEAUTIFUL) and wine was delicious. Our two sons were most intrigued and delighted. Tapas lunch and meeting Anna was a gift. Highly recommend. Best day!
If I could give Marcel and this experience ten stars, I would! This private tour of two exceptional vineyards (and delicious tapas lunch!) was the highlight of our two weeks in Spain. Just enough education and space to be with my family. Communication was also excellent before and after. Just AWESOME.
I formally study wine and was very impressed with my private wine tour of Penedes with Pol from Castle wine tours. Seamless pickup at my hotel in Barcelona and immediately felt comfortable as a solo female English speaking traveller. Great background and history of the region and the two wineries chosen were excellent, not just in Brut and Brut Natura Cava, but other grape varietals as well. My first winery was well paired with generous tapas and the second was adventurous with a buggy tour of the vines in a vineyard that has been in their family 14 generations. I elected to stay overnight in Penedes at Hotel Mastinell, something else I highly recommend. They have their own farm which serves the on-site restaurant, En Rima. Impressive tasting menu paired with the hotel and vineyards wines. So appreciated the private wine tasting as I headed to stay overnight in the region. A+ to the tour company and to Pol. Thank you so much!
The wines were so delicious and different, wonderful reds. And the tapas were to die for, so many different tastes and flavors, wonderful experience and so nice to be away from the city and be in the beautiful hills outside of Barcelona.
This tour was one of our favorite parts of the trip! Having the private tour pick us up and drop us off at our location made things super easy. Our tour guide Jon was the absolute best. Not only was he very accommodating but he was very friendly and knowledgeable of the history and the wineries. We enjoyed having him with us for the day to talk with. We never felt rushed at either of the wineries and were able to get the most out of the experience. Highly recommend
Our tour guide Victor was excellent! Knowledgeable, friendly and very accommodating. Highly recommend this tour!
This half day tour should not be missed! A real highlight of my time in Barcelona. So much of this is because my host, Pep, is so welcoming, passionate, and knowledgeable and goes all out to ensure his guests are happy! The stop in Colonia Guell offered some great insight into Catalan history and culture... and the winery was so beautiful. Most delicious cava I’ve ever tasted. Really special lunch and tastings that I’ll always remember.
This tour far exceeded my expectations. The meet up spot is right in the center of the city and very easy to locate. We ended up being a small group of four- which was perfect. We traveled to the first cava winery in an immaculately clean Mercedes van. Pep, our tour guide, was impressive. He was very knowledge about cava and wine making, and we were able to learn a lot from him. He had a great personality and was a pleasure to spend the day with. We had lunch at the first winery at a beautiful table in an outdoor garden area outside of the winery. It was beautiful and delicious. The cava was amazing as well. The next winery, in Montserrat, was breathtaking. The views from the hills and valleys almost looked fake, they were so gorgeous. The wine was amazing there as well. Overall, we had such a great day - it was definitely the highlight of my trip and probably the most fun I have had on any vacation. You really get your money's worth with this tour, considering it includes transportation, lunch, and two tastings. However, it was the people that we met and memories made that were priceless!! Highly recommended!
Our guide, Borja, met our group of 11 promptly at 12:30 and we boarded a large comfortable bus for the 45 minute ride to our first winery, Finca Ca n’Estella, in the Penedes region. We tasted two cavas (Spanish sparkling wine) and one red varietal. All were tasty, especially the red. Tapas were served. After a short drive past Montserrat, we arrived at our second winery in Heretat, Oller de Mas. I especially enjoyed the 2015 Picapoll Negre. The property has only been a commercial winery since the 1980s but it has been farmed by the same family since 925AD. The owners are investing heavily in both production and tourist facilities so expect to hear more from them in the future. Several tours joined ours for the hour long ride back to Barcelona. The bus passed in front of the Manresa cave where St Ignatius had his spiritual awakening. This is a nice half day tour of two smallish family owned wineries in two separate Spanish DOs.
I am not much of a wine drinker. I rarely even drink wine but I wanted to learn more about wines so booked this for my sister and myself. Met up with our tour guide Xavi (Chavi) in Placa Catalunya at noon and drove out of town to the first winery in the Penedes region. Xavi was an incredible tour guide. Love love loved our time with him. We went to two different wineries. First was small, family owned ..3 generations in... incredible cava. It was small, intimate and homey. The cava was delicious, and we had some tasty tapas.. learned how to eat proper tomato bread and the Iberico ham together. It was delicious. It makes a difference, as I did not like the ham when I first visited Spain two years ago. We even were treated by a rare chan e meeting with owner Anna. So humble and sweet, you can tell she cares about the winery and how much the wines meant to her. Our group consisted of a total of 7 people. Incredibly charming and kind strangers, we had a wonderful time. Second location, we switched guides from Xavi to Agnes.. who had another tour from morning.. the Montserrat Winery Tour group..again super high energy and full of passion for the wines. We got a chance to visit Oller del Mas, a wine family going back 30plus generations. This was a totally different feel to the first. It was amazing to see such a contrast but also equally wonderful to try a different variety of wines. I usually hate red wine.. but wow did the 2015 change my mind. Got back to Placa Catalunya around 730pm and went shopping and had dinner. Fantastic tour. I highly recommend this tour, especially Xavi our guide. Book this tour! Got back on a tour bus for the trip back
Amazing tour and great way to spend a day of our trip in Barcelona. Our tour guide was Toni and he was so funny, knowledgeable and personable! He really added to the experience. Thanks again for the great day exploring 2 vineyards.
Ana greeted us like family, her knowledge and obvious love of what she was doing really shined. Ana was a bright spot on our visit to the Catalonia region of Spain.
Wine tasting in Spain is so different than in the US. We enjoyed having a guide explain cava and educate us on its history. Having lunch at the winery was a special treat as well. We started with a small group and then joined a larger group at the second winery. Both guides were knowledgeable and great.
This was a superb trip with a very knowledgeable guide, Ana. She shared much history in the way to the wineries and she also shared much knowledge about wine tasting. I have been on wine tours all over the world and this was one of the best, and at a very affordable price. The cava was fantastic!
We had an awesome time. You can’t go wrong booking this tour! The canvas, wine & tapas were excellent! Plus our tour guide Toni was fantastic - he gave so much history of Barcelona, the history of Spain, the wineries, the winemaking process and the wines themselves! Plus the views of Monserrat were gorgeous & unobstructed ❤️ Absolutely a winner, made great friends on the tour!
We had an amazing wine tasting day with Toni and members of a small group. We went to two wineries, the first specializing in Cava, had lunch and tapas. It was a great excursion from Barcelona and I'm very happy we booked this tour. Toni was super knowledgeable about the wine making process, the wineries and history. He also was happy to answer any questions we had throughout the day! This tour exceeded my expectations. The wine was great as well as the food and guide. I would highly recommend booking this tour and asking for Toni!
Our wine tour was a highlight of our trip to Barcelona! It was so nice to leave the city and head out into the countryside. Both of the wineries we visited were unique in their own way and we loved them both. I feel lucky to have had Alex as our tour guide....he was friendly, funny, knowledgeable and so personable. It was nice to see how comfortable he was at each of the wineries and you could tell that he has a special rapport with each of the families. Our lunch at the first winery was delicious and pretty cool to be able to enjoy our meal in the family dining area. I highly recommend this tour! Thank you Alex and your team for making this a memorable experience!
Our tour was awesome made so much better by Sergio and his wonderful colleagues. Montserrat was glorious, the bus took us through some gorgeous scenery and the wine tasting with tapas was exceptional. Thank you we enjoyed our day and would highly recommend this when you visit Barcelona
