Carlos was excellent!! His knowledge about history was superb!! We have learned so much from him. He also has a very warm and pleasant personality. I highly recommend Carlos as a tour guide in English, Spanish, or Portuguese!! Yes, he speaks fluently all those languages!!

Patrick did a good job of explaining the history of not only the Gothic Quarter, but of Barcelona and Spain. First time here for most of our group so all found this to be very informative. Wish we could have done more, but the group was too tired.

Patrick met us at our hotel and took us on a splendid walk through the old city. Lots of historical info and anecdotes and recommendations for pastry and chocolate shops. We had been in Barcelona before, but explored areas we didn’t know existed. It was an entertaining experience.

This was helpful, we didn’t feel so lost trying to find the meeting spot. My family found this tour a highlight of Barcelona and grew more of an appreciate of the history of the area. His knowledge and story telling skills keeps everyone engaged. I would highly recommend this tour. You will grow a deeper appreciate of the history of the area. Patrick communicates with you days before your tour to coordinate meeting points and address with exact pictures where to go so you are not lost and know exactly where to meet. This is a big plus.

This was our first time in Barcelona, Spain. Although we did our research, we didn't know quite what we were looking for so we booked the Gothic quarter walking tour. Our tour guide was Patrick Taggart. We could not have asked for a more educated or patient tour guide. Patrick went above and beyond to take us through the Gothic quarter with a narrative that had both breadth and depth. This immersive tour gave us a fantastic understanding of the historical perspective behind the rise of Barcelona going back to the Roman times deeply rooted in early western civilization and Christianity. Simply Amazing ! Patrick is the best !

Informative and entertaining tour. Patrick was a wonderful and engaging guide. He took us back in time as we winded our way through the old part of the city. We learned about key political, religious and cultural figures that have shaped Barcelona’s history over the centuries.

A funny and thoughtful Welshman who has lived in Barcelona for many years, Patrick does a great job of both 1) giving loads of local tips and 2) weaving his tour into a narrative arc about the history of the city. Patrick gave our family an amazing private tour of the Gothic Quarter. Great job all around - Excellent communication and pre-planning via email to coordinate meeting spot. We have four young children - He was very kind and good with them - He is a father and 17 year resident of Barcelona so he knows all of the local treasures - from historical Roman sites and cathedrals to gelato stops and local pastry shops. Family learned a lot and enjoyed seeing this treasure we couldn’t have experienced any other way - Great job!

Patrick met us at our Airbnb and despite us being a d few mins late, he patiently waited and then gave us a fantastic no-rush guided tour of the gothic quarter. Patrick was a very good guide to the Gothic Quarter. He was knowledgable and kept the tour moving at a good pace. Both of us felt that we learned a great deal about the area that we had not known before the tour. I recommend tours with Patrick.

Initially it was hard to find him in Plaza Catalanya, that place is huge and we were looking for the guide in gray pants and black jacket. Suggest -better meeting point/location and identification. We were told about meeting location few hours before tour via viator. Its hard to check your emails even 5 min while on vacation, so were looking for him for 15 minutes around huge plaza. After this initial struggle, the tour was great. Patrick was very informative and fun to listen to. We learned a lot and it was easy stroll through old town.

Whilst it is more expensive than joining a group, it was definitely the right choice to book a private tour. Our English-speaking guide (Patrick) was excellent and we had such a great time. Firstly he is a native English speaker so it was easy to understand him, secondly he knows the old quarter so well that he showed us many details and told us many stories that we probably would not have had time to see or hear in a larger group. Thirdly we were with a young child so that was we were able to stop and grab and ice cream somewhere and were going at our own pace. Patrick was very accommodating - for example we asked if we could visit the old Synagogue, which luckily for us was open when we passed by, and he made it happen. We managed to see so many things in 2.5 hours yet we never felt rushed. This was a super experience and I would definitely recommend this tour with Patrick!!
