Girona Full Day Tour From Barcelona

Disclaimer: This is about the Girona full day tour. Not about any upgraded tour or about Girona itself. While Girona is a breathtaking city of everything just beautiful, my low rating is about the tour itself. Paying €44 for just a transportation and cathedral entry is way too much. We were dropped there and told we aren't entitled for a guided tour of Girona, unless we upgrade to include additional city (Figueres). My tour includes (Guide - English), but apparently nothing but the English spoken in the bus. You can't joing their guided tour in Girona itself unless you upgrade to go to another city! For such value of eventually doing it yourself, I could simply take the easily accessed bus or train and saved more than 50% of the price

Girona was great. Fascinating city to explore. I loved walking along the fortified wall surrounding the old quarter. The guide was friendly, caring and interesting.

Terrible experience - I was on a full day Girona tour. The description says guide is included but it is not and I learnt this at the start. Secondly it says tickets to Cathedral and Basilica included but no one sent me the tickets. The bus driver told me to contact Julia Travel but no one picks up or if they do, not helpful as they are not able to understand it. Recommend booking directly and not via third party sites like Trip Advisor

Our guide, Sandra, was amazing! Very informative and even when we got lost going back to the meeting point she waited and found us to take us back to the bus! Girona, was a beautiful city and so happy to have seen the Dali museum in Figueres.

We chose the guided tour option. The 2 hour guided tour after considering that the guide spoke alternately in English and Spanish seemed more like a 1 hour tour. We regret not having taken the self guided option which included admission to the Cathedral. It was not included in the guided option.

Our tour to Girona was cancelled abruptly with only a message of prior notice. So we went to the meeting point only to find out there it was cancelled. The ladies at the tour agency were extremely rude and arrogant. Since the tour was cancelled, my mom was asking how I'll get the refund. The lady said they needed to call their booking department so my mom asked the other lady (as seen in image) for the number. She proceeds to say the booking department has no number repetitively, and my mom tried to clarify it with her multiple times. The lady I was originally talking to tells me there is a number and gives my mom a calling card. Then, the other lady says she never said there was no number and not to "put words in her mouth". My mom said that she did (because she really did) and IF she had been recording it, the lady could see that she really said there is no number. The lady proceeds to accuse my mom of recording her and threatens to call security on her. Afterwards, she proceeded to talk badly about my mom in Spanish to her colleague in front of us. When my mom said she understood everything she was saying, she said "I don't care". This continued on for about 10 minutes with her saying terrible and rude things. Even when my mom was not saying anything anymore, she continued to stare at her with an angry look on her face. She only stopped when her colleague finally told her to stop. She never apologized for her actions despite everything she had done and said.

Nuria is the best guide! Girona is a must have. What I would suggest to this tour is to extend the Girona time by an hour to have a proper lunch and walk around the city in the free time.

This was such an amazing day trip from Barcelona and probably one of our favorites days from our travels in Spain! Communication prior to arrival was organized and it was a very safe and comfortable drive to Girona. Our tour guide, Miri, was wonderful. She was knowledgeable and was very engaging. She not only took us to sites where the show Game of Thrones was filmed but also took us to other major locations and shared interesting facts. We opted to stay in Girona on our own (instead of tacking on the Dalí tour), and we are so glad we did! It is such a beautiful and charming city and we got to explore the area at our own pace after the guided portion. The bus came to pick us up at a specified location and time and we got back safely afterwards! What a fantastic outing!

Sandra was very knowledgeable and fun to watch while giving the tour in Girona and Salvador Dali museum, highly recommend!!!!!!!!!

Long day. be aware that if you choose only Game of Thrones tour.. you will be at Girona for over 4 hours of free time. The tour is shared with those going to Dali museum and they leave and come back. it was a long time to wait. We thought it was only 2 hours of free time according to previous reviews. It made for a very long, hot day.

The tour overall was okay, but there were a few disappointments. It was a full-day trip, yet we didn’t have enough time to properly explore the museum, which was one of the main highlights we were looking forward to. When we booked the tour, it clearly stated that museum admission was included. However, upon arrival, we were told we needed to purchase tickets separately, which was confusing and frustrating. Better communication and time management would have made this a much more enjoyable experience.

I loved the tour and the alone time. I really like walking along the wall and taking all of the twists and turns. I did a game of thrones solo tour as well.

Sandra gave us a really detailed explanation on different locations in Girona. She took good care of us tourists and we enjoyed it.

Had a great time with our guide, Sandra. Girona was wonderful, and our timing was perfect. We had lunch at El Cafe that had great tapas.

I took the Girona day trip and had a fantastic time. My guide Nuria was absolutely fantastic, she was super friendly and gave a nice and thorough tour. She also showed us where most of the GoT scenes were shot (which I really appreciated as a fan). I truly enjoyed my time and will highly recommend the tour!

We booked the Game of Thrones in Girona tour and Nuria, our guide, was fantastic. Definitely recommended for Game of Thrones fan. Girona is a beautiful city.

I had a great time on the tour. Naria was an amazing tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and excited. The views were beautiful. I felt like I had just enough time to explore everything and learn about Girona and Dali.

I wish I never booked with this company in Barcelona. While we understand the company has policies and that we were late, the issue was their complete lack of customer service. Despite emailing and calling ahead and being only 15 minutes behind, they refused to give a clear answer on whether they would wait, leading us to spend extra money on transport unnecessarily. We advised we would make our own way to Girona, they offered no assistance in rejoining the group (asked for a phone number and registration to find the bus to locate them as there was free time included in this tour) and they only suggested rescheduling—which wasn’t possible as we were leaving Spain. Their response was that waiting would "interrupt others' experience," yet they had no issue doing absolutely nothing for us, not even a partial refund considering that our absence did not affect the tour in any way. A company that prioritizes keeping money over basic customer care is one I would never recommend.

Angelica was very good. Excellent tour. Dali museum is a must see. Worth a day trip. Bus ride is long so beware. The town Girona was also interesting.

Sandra was really fun and good tour guide! We had lots of fun! The bus departs at 8:30 and arrive at girona at 9:50. Tour in girona ends at 12:00. We had free time until 3:45

Sandra was a very informed and entertaining guide. She had to keep her explanations to a minimum because she was speaking in both Spanish and English. I think a single language tour would have been allowed for more questions and discussion

We were disappointed in this tour. After we rode the bus for 80 km and got off, the guide had extended the tour by 90 minutes which we didn’t want, or sign up for either. It’s a good thing we didn’t have a ship to get back to. The guide showed us where parts of the series was filmed and then just stopped his portion and took off. We were told where to meet up with him again and what time then we were on our own. His touring was short like he wanted out of there. We did enjoy exploring the city but expected to be back much earlier than we actually were.

GOT Tour was a good diversion from Barcelona. Our tour guide was very informative and friendly. Girona was beautiful and historic and picturesque. I would totally recommend any Julia Tours, especially this one.

Our tour was Amazing! Sandra was fantastic! My daughter fainted and Sandra was phenomenal. She quickly got my daughter water and something sweet. She kept me calm and was so helpful! Bravo Sandra!

Jonathan was a great guide and made sure we were comfortable while he spoke and didn’t get too hot. He and his buddy guide made great recommendations that will be useful during the rest of the day and trip. The wall walk and exploring was fun for all of us. My son is falling in love with Spain

Our tour guide Nuria was amazing, she was very joyful and knowledgeable, also has an amazing English! she showed us many places where GOT scenes were filmed which was very interesting. We had time to take pictures throughout the tour and after we had about 3 hours of free time to explore the city and different monuments like the cathedral and the Arabic baths which was great. Would definitely recommend!

Dani was a excellent guide, very kind, very good explanations and interesting stories. We loved Girona, after the guided tour we walked through the wall and it was awesome.

Small & quiet town, perfect for retirees & if you’re looking for a super chill place to hang out. Cons: there’s not much to see really

Great tour with Sandra! She was funny and friendly! I only did Girona and I had a lot of free time to explore on my own at my own pace! It started at 8:30 and I was picked up from Girona at 4!

We pick up this tour to get to know city Girona better, and tour guide 100% achieves our aim. Also on tour was included attendance of the Dali museum. It’s all the time so good have several options for the tour. So recommend

Went for a day tour from Barcelona to Girona and Sylvia was a fantastic guide and made it a wonderful experience for us with her funny and knowledgeable insights. We got ample time with the group as well as ample free time for our lunch and exploring the streets on our own too. 10/10 recommended!

Tour guide was incredible. Easily one of the best guided tour experiences I’ve had - informational, engaging, and let us explore independently when desired. Girona was fantastic - Dali museum experience was world class, BUT TOO SHORT. We would have liked at least 30-60 more minutes in Figueres for the Dali experience. Couldn’t recommend this tour enough!

Good family experience. Good blend of history, game of thrones and fun trivia. Nephew was 12 years old and really enjoyed it. Sonya was great.

Danny and Jonathan were our guides and they were so cool.. they gave off a very gen z musician vibes... but they were very accommodating, helpful and flexible during the tour...it was a large group to manage and they also handled mishaps quite well when there was a delay in the pick up Time.
