It was the worst tour I ever had. The guide’s English was poor, the content was primitive and sometimes outrageous. The assembled group was English and Spanish speakers (which was not advertised) so for more than half of time we were spoken to in a language we didn’t understand and didn’t indicate as wanting to be toured in. For the Girona city tour, the tour was progressing so slowly (we’d walk several feet and stop), that we ended up separating for the city walking tour and the remainder of the time spent in the city was for free time anyways. For the bus portion, the volume was extremely loud and the bus was frigid. The Dali museum does not have any guided tour options offered by the museum or placards to explain the art, so we were anticipating having our tour guide walk us through the museum and art history, but were left alone without any guidance. Mind you, there were other tour guided groups that were being walked through the museum. My advice is to pay for solely transportation to these locations or pick another tour if you’d like something more hands-on and with a greater art history focus.

Itinerary
Check in at our office in the centre of Barcelona at least 15 minutes before the tour departure time. From there, you will board a comfortable air-conditioned bus, where you can relax and enjoy the journey. The trip to Girona takes approximately an hour and a half, the perfect amount of time to disconnect and let yourself be carried away by the excitement of what is to come. When you arrive to Girona, you will immerse yourself in one of the most fascinating cities in Catalonia, famous for its history, medieval streets and magical atmosphere. Follow your guide on a two-hour walking tour through the heart of Girona. You will discover the richness of its historic centre, walk through its cobbled streets and see the remains of its ancient walls. Your guide will teach you about the city's Roman origins and share its myths and legends with you. Once the guided tour is over, you will have an hour of free time to explore the city at your own pace.
Reunite with your guide to head to the Dalí Theatre-Museum. When you arrive in Figueres, you will enter the Dalí Museum, the building that now houses the collection, a reconstruction of the original, as the first one was burned down during the Spanish Civil War. Enter the museum and marvel at the extensive collection of the artist's works. Observe the artist's artistic evolution over the years and admire some of his most important works. The museum is a perfect representation of the great historical and artistic value of his work. Once the tour of the Museum is over, we will get back on the bus to return to Barcelona. We will finish in the same place where we started the tour.

Dali museum itself deserves the trip! It was an amazing experience. If you love surrealism or just curious, you must visit the place! Walking and exploring the streets of Girona was a nice and relaxing addition. Relax there and have some xuixo.
Wonderful tour of Girona and the Dali Museum. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, and the driver was solid also.
Horrible. I would not recommend. Was not treated well. Could not attend and was not refunded or given credit
Sandra and Jessica were lovely, helpful and made the excursion fun. Wasn't expecting to enjoy Girona, Dali museum was my goal. I was very pleasantly surprised. If you are a Game of Thrones fan, a must! Sorry I missed the flower festival. Loved the Dali Museum
This trip was cancelled by Julia travel. I was never notified so wasted Cab fare traveling to and from meeting point. Waiting to hear from trip advisor about my refund $100+. I stayed extra time to visit this museum and without being notified of cancellation I was unable to book something else exceptable. I received my tickets the day before by message. Julia Travel said trip advisor should have notified me about cancellation as they had all my information.
We left Barcelona for the day as protests were planned. A wonderful time at the Dali Museum!
We enjoyed Sandra as our guide and the Dali Museum was much different than we expected, in a good way. Worth the time. Not sure why Girona was included. It was quaint, but not enough to linger. Possibly it could be a group lunch location.
The day was well organized and thought through. Sandra handled the group very well. The Dali museum was not my cup of tea.
Excellent experience, great communicator and knew a lot of information.
Excellent, enthusiastic guide! Sandra made the whole day easy and stress free! Knowledge of the area and history was great!!
Basic transportation to two locations plus a guided tour through Girona. Great balance of guided versus free time to wander and eat lunch.
John and Sarah were our tour guides. We had a big group and was split into two groups. Both of them are very knowledgeable and super friendly. Make sure you are there at 8:30am! The tour was super nice, exactly like the pictures and a huge involvement with Game of Thrones if you are into that. Many cobble stone buildings in Girona and good like shops for whatever you are searching for. The Salvador Deli museum had many beautiful pictures to see.
We had a lovely trip to Girona and the Salvador Dalí Museum. Our guide, Sara, was extremely friendly, warm, and knowledgeable, and made the experience very enjoyable. The tour was well paced and easy to follow, even for my elderly mother, which we really appreciated. The history of Girona was fascinating, and Sara explained it in a very engaging way. The Salvador Dalí Museum was also a highlight as it was such a fun and interesting place to visit. Overall, a very smooth, well-organised, and memorable day trip. Highly recommended!
Our driver Oscar and guide Jonathan are the best! They took care of one passenger feeling sick and made a stop for him to rest. Our journey was not impacted as they caught up. We had detail about town and pictures to see from Lord of Rings. Service is superb.
At the beginning when I checked in, I was told that my booking did not include the Dali museum despite it being stated on the title of this tour and in the description of what was included. I ended up paying extra to include the Dali museum. For this, the clarity of this tour is not there. The tour however was enjoyable and the guide was quite funny and provided really clear explanations. Girona while a bit of a rush especially the final free time, I realised that this is quite normal for most tours. I did have more than sufficient time in the Dali museum which was good. I would recommend this tour if it really included the Dali museum rather than having to pay extra on the actual day.
The tour was everything I expected and more. The tour guide, Evan, was knowledgeable and energetic. In particular, The Dali Museum was fantastic.
A wonderful day spent in beautiful Girona! Sara, our guide, was very accommodating and full of great info! Would definitely recommend this tour!
The town of Girona is a must visit. So much history and beautiful architecture. The Dali museum was interesting as well. Sara was a wonderful guide and made the trip even better.
Sandra was great! She gave us good information about Girona and Dali. I love that she is funny and caring. Thank you so much for making sure we are safe and enjoyed the tour.
Ivan is an awesome tour guide! He was very informative and provided lots of information and history about the places we visited, he japplyly answered all my questions! Highly recommended his tours!
Ivan was knowledgeable and spectacular guide. Extremely patient and took care of us all personally. Would go again. Ask for IVAN
John was and excellent guide. Informative and was very clear about what to expect and what we needed to know. Felix drove very safely and smoothly.
It was a great tour and our tour guide Miri was very knowledgeable, and pleasant. This tour was just 101, just an introduction, so we will need a couple of days to really enjoy. Thank you!
Sara was absolutely amazing tour guide. The trip was very well organized. Girona was beautiful and had lots of culture. It was an unforgettable experience. Dali museum was stunning and I would definitely like to spend more time there. Overall, highly recommend this experience.
We took this Julia Tours , which was reserved by our Travel Agent and we were delighted with our Tour Guide , Jonathan and driver Alex. We were taken around Gerona and old medieval town where some scenes of the sery Game of Thrones took place and Gerona’s Jewish quarters . We then drove to Figueres where the Dali museum is located. This was my second time taking this tour and I saw each element of the trip as if it was my first visit! This should definitely be part of your itinerary, this is a whole day tour which went by so fast ! Keep up the good work Jonathan and Alex!
Our guide Sara was phenomenal. She was so knowledgeable about Corona and also where they filmed Game of Thrones. Sara also save the day when the company mixed up our tickets and said that we did not have tickets to the Salvador Dali museum. She called three times to try to get it straightened out when they girl said no she insisted and we were able to get tickets. She saved the day and we were so fortunate to see this museum. We are so thankful to Sara and her caring about us.
Very organized and friendly. We had a lovely day. Miri our guide was amazing, she mentioned some history about the places, gave us tips to take pictures at game of thrones locations and places to eat. I really liked Girona and could stay longer next time.
Very relaxed pace and chill way to see something different. Dali’s work is so interesting and Girona is so quaint and interesting
Tour was through Julia Travels, when we got there they said that we had underpaid and charged us another 40 euros for the trip. We paid as we wanted to go for the trip rather than cancel. They said we could contact Viator for a refund if a mistake was made. Apart from that, it was a great trip. Jon our guide was great. My husband had a fractured ankle and walked slower than others, he always accommodated us and waited. Jon was a great guide. We enjoyed the trip. I would have said great value for money, if we had not been overcharged.
Good tour, nice comfortable bus, guide was great, cool sites to see and plenty of free time to room. The museum was fantastic.
Made my birthday feel so special! Was great at accommodating everyone on the trip! I learned so much and had the best time :)
I had lots of fun! I got to spend time with my family and meet others from different countries. I would definitely recommend.
Had an amazing day in Girona and at the Dalí Museum! Johnathan was a fantastic guide—knowledgeable, friendly, and made everything come alive. Claudio was a great driver, making the trip smooth and comfortable. Everything was well-organized and memorable. Highly recommend!
We follow the guide to visit Girona where is the wonderful , peace and quiet place. After that we go museum built by DALI he is talented artist. We have a great journey with Julia’s travel.
The history and views were beautiful….it was totally worth it. Girona was picturesque and the Dali museum was very enjoyable.
Unsafe and irresponsible — worst experience for a solo traveler I booked the Girona + Dalí Museum day tour with Julia Travel for 13th July 2025, expecting a smooth and professional experience. Instead, it turned into one of the most stressful and unsafe travel days of my life. The tour group left Girona without me, even though I was only 10 minutes late and had tried contacting them. No one called to check, no one asked if I was lost or safe, and they didn’t provide the contact details of the guide (Nuria) or the driver. As a solo woman in Spain for the first time who doesn’t speak Spanish, this was extremely distressing. Their office number was unreachable, and my husband in India had to call repeatedly just to get through. Even then, they refused to give the guide’s number or help me rejoin the group in any way. I had to spend €77 on a taxi from Girona to Figueres just to reach the Dalí Museum. At the museum, the same thing happened again — the guide had clearly told us to return by 3:45 PM, and I was there by 3:35 PM, but the group had already left. I was told later they had changed the time to 3:15, without informing me. No calls, no messages, nothing. To return to Barcelona, I had to figure everything out on my own. Julia Travel had given no details about train stations. I mistakenly went to the wrong station and had to pay €15 more for a taxi to reach the correct one. My pre-booked train ticket cost €26, and I just barely made it — all while my phone battery was dying. So in total, I lost over €115, was left stranded twice, and felt completely unsafe — despite having paid for a fully guided and managed day tour. And Julia Travel’s response? They blamed me entirely. No apology, no empathy, no assistance. Not even basic safety checks. I booked them for their reputation, but this was by far the worst tour experience I’ve had. I would strongly advise solo travelers, especially women, to avoid Julia Travel. They are disorganized, unhelpful, and irresponsible.
Our excursion consisted of two parts - a walk through the (old) town of Girona followed by a visit to the Dalí Museum in Figueres. Our guide Nuria did a great job organising everything, her bright and humorous way of providing us with information was a great fun! The time we had to visit the museum was unfortunately limited, but it was enough to get a first impression, and I will probably make a second attempt :) All in all, an unforgettable experience worth recommending!
Our tour guide Iruna was very friendly and informative. She showed us all the sites in Girona where the Game of Thrones was shot.
Fantastic trip! Our tour guide Sandra was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and her passion for the areas we visited shone through!
Girona old city and dali museum daytour is amazing, beautiful historic city, and our tour guide Sandra was so nice and helpful. Strongly recommeded.
Miriana was a fantastic tour guide on our trip to Girona and Figueres. She was charming, informative, and made the trip a real pleasure. The trip is about an hour and 15 minutes to Girona, where she expertly guided us through the winding streets and around the Cathedral and Basílica. Her explanation of the history of the town with added GOT references was clear and entertaining. We had about an hour and a half of free time before leaving for Figueres. Girona has a lot to see and experience so 90 minutes isn’t nearly enough time. We will have to return again for a full day to explore this amazing town. The trip continued at 1PM with a 1 hour drive to Figueres. The Dalí museum is a beautiful creation and an entertaining and fascinating exhibition of his work and a look into his eccentric mind. We had a little over an hour in the museum… which isn’t enough time to take it all in… so a return trip will also be in the works. In summary, this tour whets your appetite for a longer stay in both locations especially if you want to spend time sightseeing and exploring the beautiful shops. You will need cash if you want to tip the bus driver and tour guide, but tipping isn’t required. Hopefully you will be lucky enough to get Miriana as your tour guide! Happy travels.
Girona was a beautiful town and our guide for the day, Sara has been amazing! She's very passionate about the town and even show us prints to help us understand the stories She's telling us about the place.
The air conditioned bus was worth any money saved traveling by train since temperatures were in above tour of Girona was fabulous 35 degrees C/95 degrees F. Our guide was well-informed, funny, and overall a wonderful person. We learned a lot about the history of the city and fun facts about the area, including wonderful choices for lunch. The guide also gave us fantastic information about Dali's life and introduction to the museum. Unfortunately, there was too little time allotted for exploring the museum, only a little over an hour. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this tour (and hopefully, times are adjusted to give you more time at the Dali museum which is fantastic!).
We had a great time ! Nuria was an excellent tour guide and she was so informative and fun ! The Dali museum was the highlight ! Thank you !
The city sights were amazing to experience. I loved seeing the historical buildings and history bright to life. I wish we had more time in the museum, however. Our times there was cut short.
We chose to go on this tour to simplify travel (rather than catching multiple trains/buses) and to learn some interesting info from a guide. In hindsight, we would have just done it ourselves even though it would have taken us some extra effort to organise. Firstly, when you click the 'get directions' button on the ticket, the map provided takes you to the wrong coordinates. We only just arrived in time because of this and considering there were some other late arrivals as well, I don't think we were the only people who struggled understanding the meeting point instructions. Please fix this. The tour guide spoke in English and Spanish, usually saying a sentence in one and then the same sentence in the other. This made it a bit hard to follow and honestly sometimes I didn't know which language she was speaking in and found it difficult to follow the information generally. I think it would be easier to understand if they have the full explanation in one language and then the other or had seperate English and Spanish tours. The walking tour was ok but underwhelming. Lunch in Girona and the time at the Dali Museum in Figures felt very rushed. The bus was alright - the air con was definitely good but the driving was quite choppy and uncomfortable. We enjoyed the places we went but think this tour needs a bit of work, especially for the price.
Trip was very informative. Sandra kept us awake and informed at all times. She made the whole experience interactive and entertained. Sandra has a great personality. She knows how to engage tour members with questions and participation. We had many other tour guides but Sandra is simply the best. Her communication skills are great. We really enjoyed having her as our guide. My only suggestion for this tour is to give us more time for the Dali museum. It was too rushed and we didn't get a chance to appreciate the art. Thank you Sandra!!!
Great trip! Girona is beautiful, we had a lovely time and Sandra told interesting stories. Wish it was more time in Girona, but we had to leave to Figueres soon. We'll recommend!!
Good trip. Just enough time at girona and figueres to see the basics. Thanks Sandra. Good to have short Spanish and English bilingual commentary. Kept things moving.
