We had an absolutely wonderful experience visiting the beautiful Girona and exploring Costa Brava! From beginning to end, everything exceeded our expectations. The scenery was breathtaking, the towns were charming, and the entire experience was truly unforgettable. Our guide, Javier, was fantastic! He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and made the entire experience enjoyable. He shared so much interesting information about the history, culture, and hidden gems of the region, making every stop that much more special. One of the highlights was the food Javier recommended. Every recommendation was amazing, and it was clear he knew exactly where to find some of the best local food. Those recommendations made our experience even more memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to discover Girona and Costa Brava. Start your tour by getting picked up by your guide in private vehicle at your accommodation, in Barcelona City Center. When booking, please ensure you provide the exact address of your accommodation. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic drive as you make your way to Girona and the beautiful Costa Brava.
Your first stop of the day is the historic city of Girona, where the remnants of its Roman and medieval past seamlessly blend with modern life, creating a striking contrast. Stroll through its maze of narrow streets and step back in time as you explore Europe’s one of the best preserved Jewish Quarter.
Within the city's ancient walls, take a leisurely stroll through the Jewish Quarter, one of its most iconic areas. Wander through a labyrinth of narrow alleys and courtyards that still retain the charm of medieval times. As one of the best-preserved Jewish quarters in the world, it stands as a testament to the significant role Jewish culture played in Girona’s history.
In the Força Vella (Old Town), marvel at the Girona Cathedral, perched at the highest point of the city. Dating from the 11th to the 19th centuries, the cathedral showcases a mix of architectural styles, from its Romanesque monastery to its grand Baroque façade. The cathedral's most impressive feature is its expansive Gothic nave, which at 22 meters (72 feet) wide, is the largest of its kind in the world.
Marvel the colorful façades of the houses on the shores of the Onyar River that flows through the city and engenders this warm atmosphere of colored houses and symbolic image of Girona. You will enjoy various and beautiful panoramic views, either from the various bridges that cross Onyar river or from the top of the medieval walls of the city.
One of the bridges was designed by the famous Gustave Eiffel in 1877. The modern feel of the ironclad Eiffel Bridge contrasts sharply with the old buildings of the city.
Before continuing to Costa Brava, make a stop in the calm town of Pals. This charming medieval village, once a fortified stronghold, is a maze of picturesque cobblestone streets and quaint squares. From its towers and viewpoints, you’ll be treated to stunning vistas of the Mediterranean Sea. Take in the sweeping views of Pals' lush green fields and the expansive Empordà plains, stretching endlessly into the horizon.
Take in the lush greenery of the mountains, the rugged coastline, and the charming whitewashed villages. Pause in Calella de Palafrugell, a quaint and traditional fishing village that retains its authentic, charismatic charm. Afterward, explore the stunning surroundings and soak in the beauty of this coastal gem.
Not far away Calella, take the opportunity to discover the less explored nooks of the region thanks to the Caminos de Ronda, an old route used by fishermen, guards and smugglers. From the most popular beaches in the area to the most inaccessible caves and cliffs. To finish your day in beauty, take the opportunity to dive in the crystal clear waters, before to go straight back to your accommodation in Barcelona.

Amazing experience, beautiful towns and cities, delicious food
It was a good trip to Girona, Peratallada and Calella de Palafrugell. Javier was an excellent driver and guide, and gave us a lot of information about Spain and her history.
Javier of In and Out Barcelona was our local guide to Girona etc on the 25th October 2026. He was very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and patient. He showed us around all the important landmarks, some of them were not typical touristy places. He soon understood our areas of interest and ensured that we had sufficient time to see those places to our satisfaction. We were very happy with him and happily recommend him to anyone visiting Barcelona.

We decided to do a private tour to allow us to actually visit the basilica, cathedral and Arab baths. After Girona our guide took us to Port Bou, a quaint village on the costa Brava and recommended an outstanding lunch spot with amazing views and some free time. Our guide was excellent but needs to work on his accent a little bit. A few english words were hard to understand.

We booked a full day trip to Girona, Pals, and Costa Brava and were absolutely amazed at these three beautiful locations. Everything about the trip was well planned and we were extremely happy with the value of the trip. Our tour guide Luis was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and a great host. He even took our pictures at the best locations. We had not heard of Pals prior to this trip but we're so glad we took the time to visit. It was truly remarkable and should be on everyone's bucket list! Girona and Costa Brava were just like the pictures and amazing too. After spending time in crowded Barcelona, it was really refreshing to visit these three locations because they were not crowded at all. Overall, we loved this excursion and have fallen in love with Spain! We can't wait to go back! Thank you so much to the tour company and Luis!
