Our guide Steven was funny & charismatic, we are thankful that we had him all to ourselves for this tour. We were somewhat aware of the rich culture & history Barcelona possessed but Steven opened our eyes to the history behind the architects & the architecture of the buildings we have come to know today. The tour was insightful and a lovely way to explore the city beyond the usual touristy spots. Steven also introduced us to TKO tacos (1 euro for a taco!) after our last stop at Sagrada and he kindly obliged to have lunch with us. The tour was well paced and we highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to understand the city a little better :-)

Itinerary
Meet your guide next to Plaça de Catalunya, the main square of the city, and set off on foot towards Passeig de Gràcia, the starting point of Barcelona’s modernist route.
Start at the Block of Discord with Casa Lleó Morera, one of the houses that pioneered the modernist style in Barcelona, designed by Domènech i Montaner, Gaudí’s teacher at university.
Once the home of a famous family of Barcelona chocolate makers, this house is a true gem of modernist architecture. Take the chance to buy some very good chocolate to bring home.
The colour and fantasy of Casa Batlló captivate passers-by on Passeig de Gràcia. Standing halfway up this elegant boulevard, in strong contrast to its neighbours Casa Amatller and Casa Lleó Morera, Gaudí’s building shows the splendour of an architect who worked on this project with total creative freedom, producing one of the most outstanding private houses in the world, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Casa Milà, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the culmination of Antoni Gaudí’s career: a modernist building designed for the new social needs of its time, without forgetting his main source of inspiration, nature and organic forms.
Along the way, pass by one of the true gems of modernist architecture and hear the legend of Saint George, the patron saint of Catalonia and of many other countries and cities.
The life project of a genius, the Sagrada Familia will without a doubt leave a lifelong impression. End the tour admiring Gaudí’s masterpiece, the most emblematic landmark of Barcelona. Your guide will explain the symbolism of its sculpted façades and the organic shapes that make it unique in the world.
Probably the most famous avenue in the city, home to the most beautiful houses in Barcelona and its most exclusive boutiques. Walk through luxury and elegance, find inspiration for your most glamorous outfit, or ask your guide for the best Michelin restaurants nearby.

Antonio is a wonderful guide: friendly, knowledgeable, and interesting. We enjoyed his discussion of Barcelona’s history and architecture. He actually spent more than the allotted time with us, and we appreciated his modification of the route due to my partner’s mobility issues. I highly recommend Antonio’s tour.
Stephanie is an amazing guide (PhD in architecture and history) - passionate, witty, charismatic and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to tell us as much about modernist Barcelona as she possibly could. We learnt so much about Barcelona and beyond - highly recommend this tour!!
The tour takes one to important (and beautiful!) Modernist landmarks. Standing in front of the Music Palace and some of the houses designed by Gaudi was a thrilling experience. Our guide was professional and friendly and knew so much about the subject of the tour. He transmitted admiration and understanding of Gaudi and his work.
Great knowledge sharing as you walk through the modernist architecture and learn the history of Barcelona as well as Gaudi. Jose Carlos was a superb guide-very knowledgeable & accommodating to his clients.
This is an extremely well researched and explained experience. Antonio the guide is knowledgeable and passionate about the subject and fun to be with.. 11 out of 10.!
Montse was very friendly and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed learning about the architecture of Barcelona and Gaudi in particular.
Montse was fantastic! We spent several hours with her discovering the beautiful history and architecture of Barcelona. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and quite professional. We had a wonderful experience.
Excellent walking tour of modernisme architecture of Barcelona with tour guide Stephanie , an art and architecture expert.Stephanie showed me all the landmark buildings as well as the lesser known ones and added a tour of the historic area where I was staying . Stephanie was personable , informative and enthusiastic . A pure delight!
Isabel was such a fun and energetic guide! We were a family of 10 and she took us on a private tour to see the most famous Gaudi houses including the Sagrada Família. She never rushed us even when the kids were getting hungry and wanted a snack, she had us stop for lunch, which was delish! She not only gave us a guided tour, she shared so much history about Barcelona with us. It really enriched our time in the city and our understanding of the history. She even gave us more recommendations before we ended.
Stéphanie was our tour guide. She was on time and pleasant to talk to. She was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help my daughter and I understand and capture the best parts of Barcelona. Thank you for all the recommendations and insider insights. We had a great experience because of you.
Very interesting walk through the city. Guide provided detailed stories about the city and architecture. Found unique features on each building that otherwise would have been overlooked.
We had a great tour and learned so much; even on spring break. Montse was certainly passionate and knowledgeable about Catalan culture, the history of he city and especially the architecture and that passion came through. p.s. Thank you for the restaurant recommendations Montse...we've been to several and they've been excellent.
Isabel, a fantastic tour guide and a great human being who is passionate sharing her experiences about Barcelona city. She also was very interactive and listened patiently to answer our questions. Never seen such an interactive walking tour. It was more like walking the city with a friend. The 3 hours we spent with her were lovely, it felt like it was just 3 minutes. The time went so fast because she explained a lot about modern Barcelona and gaudi and his work. She also helped with some roadside shopping and got some tasty chocolates. She gave us restaurant suggestions and about places in Barcelona. Overall a very satisfying experience to see the city with a local person's perspective. We enjoyed the tour and would definitely recommend Isabel and her tour company.
The guide was I’ll so had to cancel we didn’t get to go. Still awaiting our refund. I can’t truly leave a review for the guide or the tour.
After I arrived at the meeting point on the day (11/1), I was told by another guide that my trip was changed- my tour guide was sick and the itinerary became "old town", no the original plan to cover architecture + Sagrada Familia. This completely screwed up my schedule. I checked the tickets to Sagrada Famíliaare and they're all sold out in the next couple days. I won't recommend this service at all.
Tony did a great job discussing the architecture on the walk. The listing should be more clear on Viator regarding entrance to locations (primarily Sagrada Familia) that require tickets. The description says "free admission" at each location but the only location we physically entered on the walk was the building next to Casa Batilo. Several people on the walk were confused, thinking they could enter locations that require tickets, based on the Viator description.
Great tour! Very knowledgeable and entertaining.I would recommend for families. I brought my 11 year along and he enjoyed as well.
Our guide Montse was great. There were 3 of us and she explained to us in a very interesting way all the buildings, square and monuments we visited. We took photos, enjoyed and had great time. We also went extra time as it was super interesting staying together.
Montse was fantastic. She is very knowledgable and enthusiastic. She answered our questions thoughtfully doing a great job listening to us. She extended our time when she realized we’d misunderstood the scope of the tour. We’d thought that the tour went inside the various buildings. Montse made up for it by spending extra time with us explaining more about Barcelona’s history and the history of the beautiful buildings.
We had a great time visiting the architecture of the city with Montse! She was very knowledgeable om the architecture and history of the city and took the time to answer our questions and give us a great a great overall view of modernism in Barcelona. We enjoyed our time with her a lot, she was a sweet and fun tour guide and made sure to personalize the tour according to out interests! Thanks again!
We had a great tour yesterday, exploring the architecture in Barcelona. Our guide was super knowledgeable about the history of the country, the city, and the area in general. We loved seeing Gaudi’s buildings and hearing about a chocolatier’s family that has kept their home in the family for generations. Thank you for sharing these stories and pointing out all the little details we would have otherwise missed.
We learn so much about the Gaudi and his work, but also about the other amazing architects and their masterpieces. Our amazing guide Montse give us a lot of interesting information and explanations about everything we saw on this tour. We got a lots of tips and recommendations for exploring the city. I would recommend this tour for everyone before visiting the most famous Gaudies works.
We had a fantastic walking tour with Montse through the 1870 - 1920 Catalonian Modernism with peaks in all the most stunning buildings including the highlights of Gaudi and the outside tour of the Sagrada Família ! Montse has a contagious love for Catalonia and fills the architectural tour with very interesting anecdotes from well known families and XIX century updates of Barcelona. We loved it and can only recommend !
Alfredo is a wealth of information and the tour of the more modern sites in the city was most enjoyable.
This tour provided a great overview of Barcelona. It included sites you want to see but not necessarily listed on the itinerary. Alberto our guide was knowledgeable, patient and friendly. The tour was small and we enjoyed meeting everyone. It was a wonderful day.
Overall this was a good tour. The tour guide was friendly but she did not manage time well. We spent longer discussing some sites than was necessary, and then we did not have much time for the Sagrada Familia. The tour ran an hour over.
Excellent guide. Interesting and interested, flexible and humorous.Would always book another tour…..
Great day out with the family. Andrei was very friendly and explained interesting facts. Had a fun walking tour. Good way to spend a few hours in Barcelona.
Great excursion the guide Andrei was excelent he explained everything we all learned a lot and saw lots of very interesting House
This being our first trip to Spain and Barcelona, we decided a tour guide was the way to go as the city is so big and we didn’t want to miss anything. Andrei was so wonderful. He pointed out so many things that we would have surely missed on a self guided tour. He gave us so much information in such a pleasant manner. We will always remember the number 33…the statue ladies with the camera , book and light bulb! So fascinating. Thank you Andrei
It was an awesome and interesting tour. Our guide Daniella was the best. She was very qualified and could answer all our questions.
Laura was a great guide- she was passionate about art and architecture, as well as knowledgable. It was a great tour to understand more about Gaudí and I recommend doing and then deciding after where else you’d like to visit. Also- great suggestion for restaurants from the guide!
Roberto was an excellent guide. He was friendly, funny and ensured our comfort throughout. He tailored our tour to suit our interests and the needs of our group. He was extremely knowledgeable and made the experience so fun. He was one of the highlights of our trip.
Marlon is the best. He is young and vibrant, very patient explaining everything from history to architecture. He has the personality that allows you to share and ask questions freely. I cannot believe he was trained to be a doctor. A very handsome, sweet and kind young man. Will recommend him 100%.
I had such a good time! Roberto was patient with me and my family as I had someone that was in a wheelchair. He took his time, he was helpful and very informative. Request Roberto on your next tour!
Olga was excellent. Very interesting details and answered all our questions. She was friendly and easy to work with also giving us recommendations for after the tour.
We’ve enjoyed this tour with our guide Jordi, who gave us a great introduction into the modernism movement in Barcelona and many tips on what to do in the city
This tour was the best ! Miguel is an enthusiastic guide who shares his love for the city, gives you time to take pictures during the tour, is funny and interresting. In this pandemic time, we were 3 (my sisters and me) and it was like a private tour. I couldn't advise you more to get a tour guide (this one or another of your choice) to support the local economy, and at the same time have a great experience :)
Onno was our guide. We liked him so much on the free tour, so we booked this tour in the afternoon. Honestly, if we had more time we would do the forbidden with him but we have a flight to catch! Anyway, Onno clearly is passionate about art and architecture and it came through on this tour. I also liked how he was very conscious of making sure we were safe (not getting hit by cars or bikes, avoiding pickpocketers, etc). You got to see a fair amount of the main attractions and some unexpected stops too.

The tour is very interesting and you get to know facts about Barcelona that you would not otherwise. It is not hard to walk the 2 hours and you get to see the most important buildings from Barcelona. There was only one issue that we booked the spanish tour and when we got there it was the english tour. Luckily nobody else showed up and the guide was able to speak spanish.

EXCELLENT tour guide - we had three great tours with Viator on this trip and I've decided to use them from now on as I think they must really vet their tour companies. Our guide was easy to talk to, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the architecture and personal stories behind the buildings we were looking at. D

Lors de la réservation très grande ambiguïté résultat ce n’était pas une visite de la Sagrada mais une visite de la ville pour 160 € pour deux ce n’était pas la faute du guide, mais vraiment le site est très ambigu
I felt right at home even though I participated in the tour alone. Knowledge transfer was top and understandable.
Spectacular tour with Olga, our talented guide! It made us really passionate about this beautiful city, its art and the genius Gaudí.
