This area of Catalonia is rich in water in the subsoil which makes it perfect for a variety of crops. We will cover a distance of about 25km which will take us to discover some of the best-preserved medieval villages in all of Spain. The peace and silence we will enjoy will make you forget about the hustle and bustle of Barcelona. We will make several stops along the way so you can explore the villages.
Calella de Palafrugell is the heart of the Costa Brava. An ancient fishing village protected by several coves a summer holiday destination for Catalans and not only. Here we will leave you about 2 hours of free time to have lunch and enjoy a swim in the crystal clear waters of the Costa Brava.

Our tour guide Julio was fantastic, helpful and very knowledgeable. The scenery was beautiful. The visit of the 2 medieval towns and the beach on Costa Brava was very much appreciated. The countryside was beautiful! The towns were old and fantastic to look at. Guilio was a great guide that has a lot of information about the area and towns. The bikes could be updated but the ride was fun!

On May 16th, 2024, we enjoyed an excellent tour with Giulio, (A.K.A Bob) originating in Barcelona and traveling to Girona, Peratallada and then Costa Brava. Our group consisted of seven tourist and 1 Guide which provide for an excellent opportunity for interaction with Giulio Giulio requested we meet about 20 minutes earlier in Barcelona then originally scheduled due to the flower festival in Girona. This slight change allowed us to miss most of the crowds in Girona. As the crowds were arriving, we were moving on to Peratallada. Giulio discussion of the city was wonderful, and he was able to show a location in which a scene from Game of Thrones was shot, he even provided a video of the scene from season six with Arya falling down the stairs while we were in front of the same stairs. Awesome for the GOT fans. On to Peratallada, this was a medieval village of about 20 people, and it seemed that they all knew Giulio as a personal friend. He was able to point out interesting facts and provided detailed insights to life in this village. The Coast Brava town by the sea was a place to consider revisiting, we had time for lunch and to enjoy the seaside Then back to Barcelona after a fantastic excursion. As side note, Giulio provided exceptional recommendation for local restaurants and gelato. Should we travel back to Barcelona, we will look for other tours operated by Be Outdoors Barcelona. Exploring Barcelona's countryside on two wheels is a LOT of fun! Everything about the trip: the sun, the terrific bike guide, the photos, the food; all first class. Giulio is the most passionate tour guide you'll ever meet and the chance to rattle around on two wheels will also make you feel a little more independent and free. This is my third tour with Giulio, and it won't be my last!

Julio was awesome! He took us out of the outskirts of Barcelona and to the countryside of Spain. We went through more than 3 towns which were full of history and stories, (which he knew everything about) then finished the day at Costa Brava! Feels like he showed us everything worth seeing. And not to mention, the car rides went by quickly as we exchanged music!
This was the highlight of our trip- experiencing the beautiful countryside, stopping in these little Medieval villages along the small path, and just having the chance to really do something as a family. View of the Mediterranean from the fishing village is also something we will never forget. Just amazing. Activity level was easy enough for all ages, even my husband who has respiratory issues found it enjoyable. Thank you for offering this tour. We really loved it!
Great tour! Our guide was so nice and taught us all about the villages on our tour. Bikes were easy to use, fast, and fun. Great views, and wonderfully scenic trails. By the end of the tour our guide felt more like a close friend than a guide. Would recommend, 10/10
The organization was perfect! We didn't need to prepare anything in advance, everything worked like a clock. The guys explained us on the area and the local culture! Definitely travel with them again!

This was a great trip for my teenage son and me. Giulio was knowledgeable, kind, and fun. He has contacts in the charming hill towns you e-bike through. The countryside is also beautiful.
