Departure & Return
Departure Point
- All of our tours meet at our office, which is directly across from the outside cafe area of the Palau de la Musica. We advise that you arrive 15 minutes before the tour starts.
Return
- Depending on the size of the group and the traffic restrictions on the day of the tour, your tour will finish back at the office, or in Arc de Triomf, which is an easy 5-10 minutes walk from the office.
Itinerary
8.15am - You will join your tour at our office, which is right across from the world famous Palau de la Musica. You will meet your guide and have an introduction as to what to expect during the day. Your tour begins at 8.30am, but we always recommend arriving 15 minutes before.
8.30am - You will leave Barcelona though the Example district of town. As you head out of the city, your guide will give you a brief history of Barcelona, before letting you sit back and relax on the 90 minute drive to Figueres.
10.00am All Year Long Schedules: You will arrive at the world famous Dalí Museum-Theatre in Figueres, the birthplace of Dalí, where you will be taken straight past the queues inside. Step inside the surreal world of Salvador Dalí and find a museum like none other. Dalí wanted visitors to see his massive collection as a ‘whole’ work, and for this reason he wanted no catalogues and refused to have his works placed in chronological or subject order. Inside is a world of fantasy mixed with architecture mixed with paintings and sculptures. It’s a complete surrealistic experience.
1.00pm REST OF YEAR SCHEDULE September 1st - June 30th: After a morning discovering the art of Dalí, you will head to the beautiful coastal village of Cadaqués. Famous for its white washed Mediterranean houses, narrow shady streets, and sandy bay, this is one of the most picturesque villages on the Costa Brava. But what really stands out for many people is the dramatic drive there, which offers some of the best views in the whole of Catalunya. This is the perfect place for lunch. In the afternoon you will travel just a few minutes up the coast to the even smaller village of Port Lligat.
3.30pm REST OF YEAR SCHEDULE September 1st - June 30th: Port Lligat is where Dalí sought the peace and quiet that truly inspired him. This stunning little bay is where he first built then enlarged a simple fisherman's cottage into a magnificent and unique home. You will have the chance to visit inside this unusual building. His studio looks as if he has just stepped out for a stroll, and thanks to the careful way it has been maintained, it's easy to image he is still living in the house. Your guide will regale you with stories about his life there and the, share some secrets about his unusual marriage to his beloved Gala. NOTE: Your tickets will have been pre booked by the office. If you want to take advantage of this, please pay the guide during the day.
1.45pm SUMMER SCHEDULE July 1st - Sep 30th We arrive at the quaint medieval coastal town of Sant Martí in plenty of time for you to enjoy a typical local lunch, or perhaps grab a sandwich and enjoy some beach time in one of the prettiest villages on the Costa Brava.
4.00pm SUMMER SCHEDULE JULY 1st - SEPTEMBER 30th: You will arrive in the tiny villages of Pubol where you will have the chance to explore the curious castle that Dalí bought for his wife, and made it her sanctuary. Entry price is not included in the ticket price, but we will make pre reservations for all who want to visit inside. Not to Miss!
6.30-7.00pm - We end the day by the Arc de Triumf, which is just a few minutes walk from our office. From here, you can easily take the metro or a taxi back to your hotel. Otherwise, your guide will be more than happy to make some recommendations of where to have dinner.

Reviews
Very well organised. Sergi was fantastic and spoke really clearly explaining all about his country, region and Dalí. Museum was awesome, Cadaqués beautiful and the Dalí house amazing. Couldn’t be happier.
Loved the day out and a fantastic day for any Dalí fan. The museum was fantastic, and the trip to the beach town and then Dali’s house were very enjoyable. You don’t get a huge amount of time at the museum, so you need to target what things you want to see as a priority. Our guide was great for this. I ran out of time for the shop, best for my wallet! Dali’s house afterwards was so good. Our guide for the day was Sergi and he was great. He was very knowledgable, told us lots in the bus which made journeys interesting, as well as when we were there. He was lovely and managed the day very well, with clear information about what was happening. Trip was overall well worth it, for the practical transport for the trip, but also as a learning experience. Sergi was great guide and would highly recommend the trip to anyone.
Convenient way to get transport to the two main Dali sites. Tours did not significantly add info beyond the basics, and while we had enough time at the Dali theater museum, we were rushed at lunch in Cadaques (one hour to walk/eat/get back to bus) and did not have enough time to see the Dali house gardens at our leisure - we had to power walk through the beautiful gardens and were still late (given one hour for the tour and gardens). So- we decided that the transport was too tough to do on our own, so this was our choice, but felt a little disappointed we did not have time to take the sites in as well as we wanted. An extra half hour at each place would have been much better and less stressful of an experience. Scenery is beautiful on the drive, museum and Dali’s home were very interesting and cool.
The activities of the tour was exactly how it was advertised. The Dali museum tour and the house tour was delightful in its expected surprises. Our guide Arnou (?) knows his subject matter well but can see he is enthusiastic art lover.
Our tour guy was Segi! He is terrific! Very knowledgeable ! Segi was trying to involve everyone in conversation! Very helpful to turn on your brain in active listening that helps to be engaged! Small groups! I was in all different tours, I think this experience was the most memorable ! Thank you! He helped us to reserved the tour for next day , because our tour was cancelled ! Amazing!!! Love , love! Irina USA Galina Germany
Absolutely breathtaking experience.we were fortunate with very good weather and very knowledgeable friendly and funny guide.
The Dalí museum was great. I loved the location of the Dali home - but found the guide to be not very good. Steve was wonderful as our overall guide. I loved Cadaqués. Great experience
Unexpected happened on Sept 20, few main roads have closed due to sport event on that morning. The tour bus is unable to drive to the usual pickup locations. Our tourist guy guided us through all the different route to reach to the bus and has to readjust the schedule to ensure we have time to view and enjoyed the itineraries. The tour guy is very smart and knowledgeable, handling the unexpected outcome smoothly.
Our guide, Stephen, was a wonderful storyteller! I felt like we knew so much about Salvador Dali by the end of the day. The Dali museum was remarkable and the house was worth the visit.
Excellent for those interested in Dalí Arnau the tour guide was very informative and helpful and pleasant And George the driver was excellent
Our guide, Sergi, did a great job in explaining the history of Salvador Dali's works and life throughout the tour. A nice balance of free time included as well.
Although extra cost to visit Dali home may give appearance that it’s optional it’s a must see & not to be missed.
This was a fun experience, the guide was welcoming snd friendly. He made sure everyone was comfortable and at ease. His knowledge was exceptional and fun to listen to.
Amazing experience. The day was jam-packed but you get to see some beautiful scenery as well as, of course, a very cool museum with some real gems. Because the tour has many stops it can feel a bit fast-paced, but our tour guide Sergio was ready to answer any questions so any information about a painting or site missed earlier was eventually gathered. Dali’s home in Portlligat was extraordinary. It is truly one of the most magnificent seaside residences I’ve ever witnessed and it is full of the whimsy that Dali is so well known for. I highly recommend this tour.
This was an outstanding experience. The tour guide provided amazing details about the artist and all locations we visited. The museum, artist's house, and Cadaques area were fantastic! Our tour guide was amazing! I highly recommend this tour.
I’m a big fan of the Surrealist artworks. I have seen a few of Dali’s works in the US before but didn’t know much about his life story. It was really fun to visit his theatre-museum and Gala Dali Castle. Our tour guide Sergi was a great storyteller. He shared many interesting stories about Dali and Gala. Our driver was very friendly and helpful too. Hope I’ll get to visit Dali’s house next time (not open in the summer).
Amazing tour! Bryan was very knowledgeable about Dali and had a great vibe! Definitely worth seeing!
Our tour was relaxed and informative. Steven was a great tour guide. Although it is a long day we enjoyed it.
If you are a Dali fan, you will love this tour! The museum was really fantastic and Stephen was quite knowledgeable and entertaining. I appreciated his jolly nature and flexibilty. He herded the cats that we were and definitely worked to keep us all happy!
Our tour guide was so knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Dali’s inspiration, his life and his unusual relationship with his unconventional wife, Gala.
This is truly a full day from Barcelona, but well worth the trip. Our Guide Nuria was amazing and so knowledgeable that we knew an awful lot about Dalí before we got there.
Full day tour was well worth the time & money. Our guide Enrique was funny, witty and entertaining. Hearing of Dali’s life as an artist and as a person really made this experience special.
Great and incredible trip. Our guide burial was an excellent guide. I would highly recommend both to have a wonderful time, learn all about Salvador Dali, see his home, museum, crypt and separately his studio.
From start to finish this tour was perfection!!! Absolutely amazing tour guide Guillaume (who speaks nine languages) gave us a wonderful lecture on the bus to Figueres. He was so kind to everyone. Then, we enjoyed the Museum and off to Cadaques. The Town and Dali's house were both magnificent! One of my most magical tours ever with Viator. We booked another tour with Guillaume. He is that good!
Lots of stuff to see in one day.tour guide knowledgeable and caring, but sometimes too many facts given.
Steve was our guide for this Dali trip. Steve was knowledgable, added lots of context to our journey, and was prepared with summary binder on Dali - which helped the car ride go very smoothly and fun. Steve did a great job making it clear how long we'd have to explore each place, and where to meet back. We felt we had a good amount of time to walk around and see most things.
Rod was an enthusiastic tour guid with great stories and interesting information about Dali’s life and work. Visiting the surrealist museum and Dali’s home in Cadaques were well worth the time.
Nice experience overall. The tour guide made it worth it with his storytelling and fun information delivery style.
Absolutely fantastic tour. Couldn’t recommend enough. There were only 3 of us plus our guide in a really comfortable car so it was basically like a private tour! So amazing value for money. Nu (our guide) is so knowledgeable about Dalí and his fascinating life. The museum is incredible. Cadaques is beautiful and Dali’s house is very unique & interesting. I thought the day was going to feel really long & exhausting but it went really quickly. If you are interested in Dalí and his life/work you must go! Thanks so much Nu-you are a star!
Fabulous day. Our guide was so knowledgeable and made the day interesting and fun. It was a great way to spend a day.
Great day spent exploring and learning about Dali! Our guide (Rodrigo) and driver (Rueben?) were fantastic. We learned lots and had fun along the way. A couple of notes: if you are prone to motion sickness like me, there is a stretch of the drive through winding mountain roads. Rod gave me a bag just in case (happily didn't need it), but you may want to come with Gravol. And if you want to visit the house, which is not included in the price, it's 15,50/person, cash only.
I liked the tour overall. I wasn't sure about visiting the Dali House but I am glad I did as his genius was even more evident in the house. Dali Museum is must-see, I am kind of disappointed to see it this late as it was my 7th visit to Barcelona. The museum itself was surreal as Dali's paintings. It wouldn't be easy to organize my visit to Cadaques and Portlligat myself, that's why this tour make sense. The minivan was comfortable. Our guide Berta did not only provide us with the valuable information regarding Dali and his art but also Barcelona and Girona region. It was so easy to find travel agency as well, it is quite central and easy to reach. We were a small group yet as a solo traveler, it is nice to connect with other visitors from different countries.
Very good tour — would do it again.
Berta was a great guide and we enjoyed both the museum and house. Be prepared that it is a very long drive at the end of the day.
This was a great way to understand much more about Salvador Dali. His museum in Figueres is amazing, and his house in Cadaques is fascinating. Our guide, Steven, was excellent, very knowledgeable about Dali and his art. It was a really good day trip.
After the Dalí-tour with our guide, Alex, I was simply blown away! To be honest, I had originally only tagged along as a favor to a friend. While I was looking forward to seeing the fishing village (Cadaqués)—and I do actually have an interest in art—I decided to participate despite the fact that I hadn't found Dalí's art truly interesting since I was a teenager. From the very beginning—during the bus ride to our first stop, the Dalí Museum in Figueres—right through to the end at Dalí's home in Portlligat, I was absolutely captivated by Alex's way of speaking and by the stories he told about Dalí, his life, and his relationship with Gala. It was simply incredibly enjoyable to listen to him and to gain insights into the personalities of both Dalí and his partner, Gala. The historical context he provided was also fascinating. For me personally, Dalí's home in Portlligat was the absolute highlight of the three stops. It is definitely a must-see! I was completely surprised, as I usually have very little interest in furniture. The interior design was highly unconventional, while the outdoor area offered breathtaking views. By the end of the day—thanks to Alex—I had experienced a fantastic excursion and learned a lot. Everything was presented in just the right measure—informative and educational—by a truly warm-hearted guide. A huge thank you to Alex!
My wife and I are in our 25th anniversary trip. Berta, our tour guide, was amazing. . She drove us to Figueres. We had a great tour of the Dalí museum. Berta offered great insight on some of his works. We then went to the completely idyllic town of Cadaqués with amazing views of the Mediterranean. Berta recommended a great lunch spot, the one with the black awning. Just ask Berta. We had the freshest scorpion fish and cod. What an amazing day. Moltes Gràcies, Berta!
A nice cultural trip with a well cultured and multidimensionla guide.
Fantastic day trip! Alex is a terrific storyteller who shared interesting facts about Dali and his life (complete with pass-around laminated visuals) to occupy bus transit times. We had clear expectations about meeting points and departure times with about 90 minutes to enjoy on our own at each stop. It’s a long day but I would not have seen these fascinating places on my own otherwise. The mini bus was comfortable and our group of 17 manageable. The morning office meeting point was a bit hard to find and tucked away in a small side street but aside from that the day was impeccable and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
We have ordered 2 tours- Moncerat and Dali. First one was in small group and we had the guide name and his phone. When the guide came with 25 minutes delay we were not nervous . Dali tour was opposite not a guide neither a phone number. On Viator site the meeting time was 8:15 but on tickets we got - 8:30. So we missed out tour and lost $260 Next time we will choose another travel agency
It was a long day and lots of time in the car but Enrique entertained us with lots of interesting information on our way to the Dali museum and was quiet on the way back so we could nap. The museum was amazing and then the lunch by the ocean and the Dolly house were well worth the time and visit.
I thought 11 hours might be too long but the day went so quickly with Alex’s stories about Dali. He was so knowledgeable about his life and timed each part to correlate with the Museum. I would highly recommend this experience to learn so much more about Dali, his life and see his amazing works.
Unbeknownst to me, I booked the “private” Dalí tour. It was just my husband and I with Sergio. We had a fabulous time- Sergio was very knowledgeable not only about the tour subject matter, but also a great conversationalist. We talked about so many different things on our all day journey together- Catalonian culture and language, Barcelona, and Spain in general. He made great restaurant recommendations for us in Cadeques and we had a fabulous local lunch. The Dalí museum was exactly what you would expect it to be if you are a fan. My only suggestion would be more time at the museum- maybe increase 30 extra minutes, only because the crowds can cause longer waits between viewing the works of art. The drive from Figueres to Cadeques was breathtaking and a great place to spend time in between locations. The Dalí house is well preserved and a great insight to his private life. All in all, I would highly recommend this tour!
Alex was really helpful and provided us with so much information that sleeping in the bus was absolutely impossible 😉 Tour was just right, we got a very good impression of Dali. Would totally recommend
Very winedey road. Make sure you are prepared if you get motion sick. Beautiful views. Abcdefghijklmnop. ,,, do not make me write so much
It's a long day, but Berta is a fantastic guide. She is incredibly knowledgeable and understands when to tell you more about something and when to let you stare out the window. The Dali Theater/Museum must be seen to be believed, and the visit to Gala and his home helps give insight into one of the most fascinating minds in human history. I have done this tour five times now and will absolutely be back for round six in a few years. I always bring my high school students with me and they're always captivated and enthralled. I end our time in Spain with this tour because as so many of the 80ish students I've taken have said, "where do you go from here? After you've seen this, it's time to go home."
This is a fantastic tour! Our tour guide Sergio was wonderful - he was so knowledgeable about Dali and the region and added so much to the experience. I would highly recommend this tour - experiencing Dali’s art and life in Figueres and Cadaques was a highlight of our trip. Thank you for a wonderful experience and a special thank you to Sergio for making it so fun! We learned a lot!
I’ve been in Barcelona for almost two years and this is one of the best day trips I’ve taken from the city. Nu is an excellent tour guide and made the two hire drive up to Figueres fly by with her interesting stories about the history of the region and the life of Dali and his wife Gala and the many fascinating characters that wove in and out of their lives. The Dali Museum itself is such a unique place with some of his greatest pieces on display as he intended, and his home is just as interesting. A highlight for me was spending lunch in Cadaqués, and I could have spent much longer in the beautiful town with its stunning white architecture - one of the best on the Costa Brava. Note the roads to Cadaqués have a lot of switchbacks, and consider bringing car sickness medication if that may affect you — but the views are absolutely worth it.
Tour guide was great. Very knowledgeable.
