On our visit (September) there was no bus for over an hour, when it came, it was full so passed us by. Waited again, no bus, after another 20min or so, gave up. The people in the queue in front of us had waited much longer and had two buses pass them that only allowed one person on. No use for a family. Each stop we then saw (on our now self-guided trip), we saw the same thing repeated, so it seemed no one wanted to get off for fear of never getting on again. The poor drivers had to deal with this frustration which didn’t seem fair. The other bus running a very similar route had none of these issues. We’re still waiting for a response to our request to review our initial complaint that was lodged over 6 weeks ago. “We are sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced while attempting to use the Barcelona City Sightseeing service.” is all we got in response to an initial complaint. No you’re not. It would be nice to hear back from you, but I’m not holding my breath.

Great to see the city and learn about all aspects of it in a short amount of time for your visit. We stayed at the Moxy and three of the stops in walking distance were sadly closed/canceled so took a taxi to a touristy one we knew would be open as we had arrived the day before. We did it roundtrip and with the traffic and random 5 minute plus stops on top of the designated stops it was about 3 hours. No regrets as we likely won’t go back to Barcelona but just plan accordingly.
You need to make sure you get on the right bus. There are two different companies. Route numbers are not called. The attraction is and this can be confusing. Changing from the blue route to the red one can be very confusing. No signage for where to change except on the map.
This is a great way to get an overview of the city to determine where you’d like to get a chance to visit
Two different routes that travel to the highlights of the architectural sensation of beautiful Barcelona!!
My poor review is related to the Viator/Ticket access platform - I was unable to access my tickets even though paid and received a confirmed email. I have been refused a refund. I understand that the Tour operator is not liable, but after numerous complaints to Viator no one is taking accountability for the fact that the Get Tickets tab did not display on the app and I had to purchase new tickets from ano source. It is unacceptable.
I never received tickets. This is not like Viator. I've received no response to my inquiries. This is not acceptable.
There were plenty of stops and was easy to find the buses. Some of the plugs were not working though. Otherwise, it’s a great way to see the sights without walking to each attraction.
Very good way to see Barcelona really enjoyed it and was well worth the money
We never located the bus so it never happened. We looked for 2 and a half hours and the bus drivers from other companies sent us in different directions to locate the bus but never found it…Huge dissatisfaction….
Be ready to join long queue at Sagrada Familia. We got a blue route bus in the afternoon and thought we could change to red route to return to Sagrada Familia. But we were turned off at Plaza Cataluna and told buses had stopped for the day. There was no prior warning about this. We had to taxi back in the end.
Very good but English description was a bit ahead hence disorienting with too many repeats. We saw a lot
In theory this is great! You can see all the sights of the city. However, they wait at least 10-12 minutes at every stop.
Beware... There are more then one company in Barcelona claiming the title of Hop on Hop Off bus so it's can be confusing if a person is looking for the iconic red double decker bus and you book another company.
Very hard to figure out bus stops &2 different hop on hop off bus tours so also co fusing to figure out which line you’re on.
The bus ride around the city was great and a wonderful way to get around and see everything. The only reason I did not give this a 5 star is because I was picked up at 6 by the bus and they announced a half hour later that it was the last stop and everyone should get off. I wish they had announced the final stop when we got on. The bus was supposed to run till 7. Many people were angry including me and that did not have to happen. Just announce it before people get on so they can decide if to continue. It took me almost 2 hours to get back to my hotel by foot because I could not get a taxi. Other than that it was good!!!
Waits can be long, buses full, very slow streets from heavy traffic. If you are young buy the Hola pass and get there 4x faster.
If you want to see the city, what a great way to see it!
We never got a chance to participate. The stop closes to our hotel was cancelled/closed. We did not realize it and sat and waited for 40 minutes before we saw a sign on the bench. We should have been notified that several stops were cancelled or closed and which ones, so we knew where to go. We were very disappointed!!!!!
I booked this tour by mistake. The rest of the group had booked with another company. I’ve been asking for my rebate and I’ve never got a response back yet.
We were able to see the sights in one day since were only there in one day. I recommend doing this if you have only a short time in Barcelona.
This sight seeing tour was so very easy to get around the city. It's beautifuI . I recommend doing the forty eight hours. If you have time, first day to do the route and see what's available. Second day to do the stops.
Bus is goodONCE you get in. Queues are huge and the staff at the pick up point in Placa de Catalunya are seriously disorganised. Also, ensure you are in the right queue. Different companies have stops side by side.
Hannah was excellent. She is very smart and knowledgeable about Barcelona I would take another tour with her.
A great way to see the city of Barcelona. The entire route took just over 2 hours on the red line. We did the full route then stayed on and got off where we wanted. Getting off and on was perfect to see what we wanted then hop on to get to the next stop.
The bus tour had two routes, and the buses were on scheduled for every 15 minutes at each stop. The buses were quite full during the morning hours and lighter towards the evening hours. Overall, I saw a lot of Barcelona from both routes.
We had a nice time. The bus was very clean. Sometimes while listening to the headphones, the location that the narrator was talking about had already been passed. There were several times when sitting on the top deck where overhead branches were too low and if you weren’t watching, you could get hit by one. The branches definitely need to be trimmed for passenger safety.
Never use Viator! I paid for an experience that started at 10:15. The bus left early. Never using them again I can’t get refund. DO NOT USE VIATOR!!!!
This is a great service and a great way to see the city! I would definitely recommend this tour during your trip to Barcelona.
Do not buy these tickets as they oversell and then force you to request a refund which is impossible to complete. We ordered three day passes and they oversold meaning we were not able to get on the bus and after trying to get a refund, we have heard nothing from anyone. Such a sad experience to what we hoped for would be a great experience. Very disappointed.
The head phones mainly played music and did not tell you about the stops. After listening to only music for over an hour and a half we decided it maybe best to just get off and figure out something else to do. Thank you.
Good audio and bus frequency. But when a stop omitted due to construction, we weren’t told where the substitute stop was located. Resulted in getting an erroneous direction from a bus staffer when I was transferring from Blue 14 to Red. Turned out the earlier omitted Red 3 had been moved to near Blue 14. Finally found it when I saw a Red stopped at a traffic light. They wouldn’t let me on but gestured back a block (refused to open door so I could hear what staffer was saying).
This was a great way to see a lot of the main sights in Barcelona. The two routes take you to different parts of the city and was perfect for me as a solo traveller. I think that this is a must if you haven’t been to Barcelona before. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The staff were always very helpful and polite and spoke good English. Can’t recommend enough Thank you
Very worthwhile way to explore Barcelona. Suggest you do red route one day and blue route the next. Buy the 48 hour bus.
The bus was comfortable and the routes were very nice. We got to see a lot of the city. The only downside was finding the bus for our initial ride. The literature didn’t specify - just that we could pick up the bus at any stop. Problem was that we didn’t have a map or any other way to know where the stops are. Our hotel knew where to send us for stop number one and after that it all worked well. Would do it again!
Wonderful tour. We covered the external and internal works. It felt comprehensive but not rushed. After the tour ended we could remain and had time to explore. Guide was informative, pleasant and had strong command of English (which was not her native language). The group was around 10 in size.
We has to buy a tour because la Sagrada Família was sold out on line. The meeting place was crowded. It took 45 min to get through the line and security, we toured the chapel for 45 min which was great but then it was done. We might have been better off with the audio guide!
Migel was fantastic! Very personable and knowledgeable about the city. He is well traveled and seems to really enjoy giving tours. The food was a good variety, mostly seafood, and the drinks also all mixed in well.
Booked thinking it was a 24 hour use. So booked for 3.00pm thinking it would go to 3.00 next day. Apparently not. So kissed that money good bye. Very disappointed.
We purchased the 48 hour package. Our first 24 hours tour was not great. It was on the Red route. The ticket collector on the bus was not attentive to those on the bus with us. Language apparatus left off, stopped for his bathroom needs in some garden area and generally could be heard talking with the driver over the ear phones. Second day was fantastic
Never received my tickets so vendor would not let us on bus even though I had receipt with Oder number- no response from TripAdvisor
We only had one day in Barcelona. There was no way we could see anything without The hop on hop off bus and tour. We stayed with the bus for 4 hours if interesting and informative narrating.
Instructions on email say to get on at any stop but no feature to easily find nearest stop to where you are.
Wanted to just get from Point A to Point B but ended up on the wrong line. What a unexpected mistake gem. Saw so many places in Barcelona I had no idea existed. So would do this again but read up more on what line and where each goes.
It a fabulous way to see the city area we may not have seen otherwise. We we went all the way to Barceloneta for lunch and home in a cab
The Hop-On, Hop-Off is the best way to see all the historical sites in Barcelona, Spain. It was easy to find the pickup bus stops.
Great experience. Saw some of the iconic sights
Commentary could be better, hard to hear in some portals, not others. A lot of music so kept taking earplugs out! Good way to see the city though
The trucks were new but the employees can be more pleasant. The routes were good but so are the others.
This tour was disappointing. First, the WiFi in the bus wasn't working so I couldn't access my ticket. Then we had to change our seat because the sound wasn't working in the first seat. They had annoying music playing for much of the tour. There was some recorded guidance, but the bus didn't coordinate well with it, and didn't stop at those places long enough. But at least we made a 2-hour loop of the city which was relatively pleasant.
